Abstract

The study aims to develop a media for teaching projection drawing to improve the quality of learning process and outcomes. The research was conducted at the Department of Arts Education, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Surakarta, Indonesia. The study is a classroom action research consisting of two cycles. The subjects of the research are 20 students. The research manipulate the multimedia-based learning resource in the form of the power point presentation program that displays moving dot-points, lines, and colored objects, supported with sound effects. The data was collected through observation and interview, and is then analyzed using comparative technique to compare the condition before, during, and after the research. The result of the research, which is a media for teaching and learning projection drawing, consists of nine topics, including: concept of projection image plane, projection of points, projection of lines, projection of planes, projection of the surface of an object, projection of object rotated to the left, projection of object rotated to the front, projection of oblique object, and projection of truncated objects. The model of drawing sequence was presented sequentially as an integrated drawing item in which lines were displayed in different primary colors followed by a combination of motions and sound effects. To use the model effectively, the study finds that the configuration of dots and lines should be presented more precisely, each picture should be clearly drawn with identical sound in each movement, movement of curves should show the center point, each topic should be displayed per field, and each image should be followed by the description of the problem.

Abstract

This classroom action research aims to improve the quality of the learning process and improve the skills to write poetry at writing activity in class VII E SMP Negeri 16 Surakarta year 2015/2016. The results showed an increase in the quality of the learning process in the first cycle with the average value of the performance of teachers is 72 and the second cycle is 83, the average value of the performance of students in the first cycle and the second cycle is 70.85. Students’ kills in writing poetry is on increase, the students’ passing rate in the first cycle is 64 % with a mean value of 78 and the students’ passing rate in the second cycle is 92% with a mean value of 82. This is concluded that the implementation model of snowball throwing and said media tree can improve learning skills of writing poetry class VII E SMP Negeri 16 Surakarta academic year 2015/2016.

Abstract

Javanese literary works are reflections of the scriptwriters’ real world. Ketoprak script is one of the literary works of the traditional Javanese drama genre. There are several kinds of ketoprak scripts in Java and each region has different aspects. Each ketoprak text can reflect the social condition of its native area when analyzed by sociological literary-approach. Sociology of literature is a study that connects literature with its social reality. Classical ketoprak script of Surakarta style viewed from the perspective of sociological literature is a reflection of the socio-cultural life of the community in Surakarta. It is seen from a socio-historical perspective, socio-cultural, and linguistic aspects used in the classical ketoprak script of Surakarta style. These three aspects make the classical ketoprak script of Surakarta style has a local specificity and characteristics that distinguish it from other Javanese literature.Keywords: sociological aspect, local specificity, Javanese literature, classical ketoprak script

Abstract

Ketoprak merupakan seni tradisional Jawa yang lahir dan berkembang dari kalangan masyarakat, sehingga seni ketoprak sangat kental dengan nilai yang relevan dengan kehidupan masyarakat Jawa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan mengenai potret sosial masyarakat Jawa yang tercermin dalam naskah ketoprak klasik gaya Surakarta. Penelitian ini berbentuk penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra pada naskah ketoprak klasik gaya Surakarta. Sumber data primer dalam penelitian adalah naskah ketoprak dengan judul Ronggolawe Gugur, Pandanaran Mbalela, dan Ki Ageng Mangir Wonoboyo. Setelah dilakukan analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam naskah ketoprak klasik gaya Surakarta terdapat potret sosial masyarakat Jawa yang tercermin dari kon ik dan masalah yang dibahas dalam ketiga naskah tersebut, nilai sosial yang tercermin, dan bahasa yang digunakan. Kon ik yang terdapat dalam ketiga naskah ketoprak tersebut berkaitan dengan masalah bela negara, budaya perjodohan kalangan masyarakat Jawa, nilai pertemanan, dan permasalahan kekuasaan. Dari analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa dalam naskah ketoprak klasik gaya Surakarta terdapat re eksi dari kehidupan sosial masyarakat Jawa ditinjau dari aspek bahasa, sistem nilai, dan permasalahan sosial yang dibahas.

Abstract

The teaching and learning Javanese language in high school during the covid-19 pandemic is challenging due to the limitations of face-to-face between teachers and students. The application of an innovative learning model called 'ireng manis' aims to overcome various obstacles in achieving Javanese language proficiency. The learning model of Ireng Manis (an acronym for mireng, nggunem, maca, lan nulis) is essentially a re-actualization of the audiolingual approach that is expected to incorporate all four areas of language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Ireng Manis's innovative model uses memorization, practice, and repeat strategies. This model is designed by combining students' grammar and communicative competence in applying 'manners', a type of Javanese commonly used to respect older or more knowledgeable people. The technique is carried out by utilizing the development of communication technology, namely the application of chat menus (chat) and voice (voice) on WhatsApp as a learning medium. Abstract

This research aimed at describing and explaining about (1) the discourse structure of review text on book review columns in Solopos Newspaper January-December 2017 edition; (2) the textual aspects of book review; (3) the contextual aspects of book review; (4) the relevance of book review columns in Solopos Newspaper January-December 2017 edition as the teaching materials of review text in Secondary Junior High Schools and in Secondary Senior High Schools. The type of this research is qualitative descriptive. The results of this research indicated that (1) the discourse structure of review text on book review columns included opening paragraph, contacting paragraph or content, and closing paragraph; (2) textual aspects supporting the completeness of book review were the topic of discourse, aspects of cohesion and coherence, and forms of words; (3) the contextual aspects on book review could be understood through four interpretive principles, namely: the principle of personal interpretation, the principle of local interpretation, the principle of temporal interpretation, and the principle of analogy; and (4) the results of this research also indicated that book review columns in Solopos Newspaper January-December 2017 edition could be used as the teaching materials of review text in Junior High Schools and Senior High Schools.

Abstract

This Analysis explain and describe: (1) the forms of deixis contained in the editorial of Solopos edition 2017; (2) the use of the deixis function in the editorial of Solopos edition 2017; (3) its relevance as teaching material of editorial text in high school. This research is a qualitative descriptive research with source data derived from editorial paper Solopos Edition 2017. Sampling technique of this research using purposive sampling and using document analysis and interview. Technique of data validity test that used is triangulation theory. The results of this research are 1) found 5 deixis form namely, deixis persona, deixis place/ space, deixis time, deixis discourse, and social deixis; 2) Based on the analysis found the functions of the use of deixis at Solopos Editorial Edition 2017 a) the function deiksis persona, b) The deixis function of place, c) The time dextis function, d) the function of the discourse of discourse, e) the social deixis function; 3) The Editor's editorial in the 2017 edition of Solopos matching with the criteria as teaching material for editorial texts in high school.

Abstract

The purposes of the research are to describe and to explain the learning process of short-story writing based on Curriculum 2013 which includes teachers’ comprehension about Curriculum 2013, planning, implementation, and assessment based on the Curriculum 2013 and the constraints and efforts made to overcome the obstacles. The research used descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. The data resources in this research was obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documents analysis. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that learning to write short stories needs to be evaluatedin order to increase the quality of learning process both from planning, implementation, and the assesment because there are still some obstacles in the implementation. This the Curriculum 2013 can be implemented in accordance with the concepts and rules have been made by the government and achieve the goal of education have been formulated.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and explain (1) the form of local wisdom in the novel Dawuk by Mahfud Ikhwan; and (2) the relevance of Mahfud Ihkwan's Dawuk novel as a literature learning material in high school. This research is a qualitative descriptive study using a literary anthropology approach. The anthropological approach to literature is used to analyze the form of local wisdom in the novel Dawuk. The sampling technique is done using purposive sampling. Data collection techniques are carried out by content analysis or documents and interviews. The data analysis technique in this study uses an interactive analysis model. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the form of local wisdom in the Dawuk novel includes life tools, livelihoods, social systems, language systems, arts, knowledge systems, and religious systems; and (2) Dawuk's novel by Mahfud Ikhwan is relevant as literature learning material in high school for class XII with basic competencies (KD), among others: (a) interpreting the author's view of life in a novel that is read; and (b) analyze the content and language of the novel. Novel Dawuk is also relevant because it has fulfilled three novel selection criteria, namely language, student psychology, and student cultural background.
