Abstract

Pada pintu masuk utama klenteng tua tradisional di pulau Jawa selalu  dapat dijumpai ikon harimau putih dan naga hijau/ biru. Apakah makna sesungguhnya dari elemen arsitektur ini? Tulisan ini menguraikan latar belakang falsafah asal muasal ikon tersebut, pemikiran konsep kosmologi tradisional, hubungannya dengan tata surya  dan astronomi, sinkronisasi beragam faham tentang semesta alam secara correlative thinking hingga penerapan pada bangunan tradisional. Konsep makrokosmos melewati interface faham feng-shui ditransformasi menjadi bangunan yang terukur oleh dimensi manusiawi. Analisis dilakukan secara semiotik, hermeneutik, dan historis-anthropologi.   Kata kunci: arsitektur vernakular Tionghoa,  ikon, budaya popular, naga , macan.

Abstract

The entrance area at a traditional Chinese temple always looks verycrowded with excessive ornaments, murals and epigraphy.  Each  point calls loudly for attention from visitors. What is  actually the philosophical ideas behind creatit? This article is based on the anthropology of traditional Chinese people’s popular cult and cosmology idea, by interpretating the symbols–while treated doors as an element of architecture-analyzed to be able to understand the meaning imply from within. A description and narration of this specific area is presented. It shows that culturally and intrinsically a traditional Chinese temple has several intense functions: documentation, didaction, continuation and preservation of Chinese culture. Keywords: hermeunatics, symbols, culture, door, vernacular architecture

Abstract

Kondisi spasial hunian Suku Bajo di kampung Wuring Kota Maumere dilihat pada karakteristik hunian masyarakat sebagai kampung awal peradaban muslim dan menjadi pusat penyebaran agama Islam di Kabupaten Sikka. Latar belakang sejarah sebagai tinjauan dalam menggali terbentuknya hunian masyarakat serta aspek geografis, sosial, budaya dan ekonomi masyarakat setempat. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode fenomenologi dengan analisis deskriptif kualitatif dan bersifat naturalistik yaitu menggambarkan dan menginterpretasi catatan budaya Suku Bajo berupa keterangan sejarah, dokumen peta, maupun artefak yang berwujud fisik hunian masyarakat Suku Bajo. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengkaji perkembangan spasial yang terbentuk berupa sistem spasial hunian dan aspek-aspek yang melandasi pembentukan spasial hunian Suku Bajo pada kawasan kampung Wuring sebagai upaya untuk memahami kondisi awal hingga terbentuknya hunian kampung saat ini. Hasil penelitian memberikan gambaran tentang sistem spasial hunian mencakup organisasi ruang, orientasi ruang dan hirarki ruang dalam lingkup mikro hunian berupa konsep ma’bunda-ma’buli. Selain itu gambaran perkembangan spasial hunian berupa bentuk panggung tumbuh dan panggung diaruma yang berdampak terhadap messo lingkungan karena adanya aspek non fisik yang melandasi pembentukan spasial hunian di kawasan kampung Wuring. Kata kunci: spasial, hunian, suku Bajo, kampung Wuring

Abstract

Title: Vertical and Horizontal Room Cosmology in Traditional House (Sa’o) Adat Saga Village, Ende Regency, Flores Cosmology is the science related to kemestaan (cosmos) in a concept of the relationship between the human world (micro-cosmos) and of the universe. Space in traditional house Saga has values and khasan interesting architecturally is examined. The influence of Ngga'e on the Du'a belief and traditional home space Saga interesting architecturally is identified. This study uses qualitative methods with an ethnographic approach that is description. The findings of this study is about the cosmology of the space on a traditional home. Cosmological view of space in traditional house Saga is distinguished into three parts namely is lewu, gara as one and mention the position of the human body parts. Cosmological view of space in traditional Indigenous Villages (Sa'o) Saga depicted horizontally with the mother lay. Nature of traditional house Saga is the core of fertility and birth. Being a mother is clearly visible on a carved door (pene ria) enter Sa'o believe carving the breasts of a woman who symbolizes the human life and a transverse under IE peneria koba leke symbolizing the human development. The position of the head of the mother at the lulu (the dugout), second legs on his back is to the fore in the tent (dugout or accepting guests), second hand mereba is at the right and left dhembi space, the womb or humanitarian space are at puse ndawa. Keywords: traditional house (sa'o), the indigenous village of saga, the cosmology of the vertical and horizontal spaces

Abstract

The complex of Jatiroto Sugar Factory did not only consist of factory area, but also residential housing. The official house of Jatiroto Sugar Factory was a house destined for the factory officials. On this area of official house, a house was in stilt type. The stilt type in the complex area of Jatiroto Sugar Factory was a unique type, it was differed from the other types of official house. The official house in stilt type has a fascinating specific feature to be examined. However, this official house began to be neglected. A number of houses have been left and not maintained because of the building oldness. The objective of this research was to identify and assess the official house building at Jatiroto Sugar Factory based on the cultural significance value of building maintenance. The descriptive evaluative method was used to assess the building of official house at Jatiroto Sugar Factory. The descriptive method was done and aimed to identify the cultural significance value of building maintenance, while the evaluative method was aimed to determine the maintenance value, so it could result to the value as a direction of building preservation. The result was the value of cultural significance of building maintenance that could be used in the preservation directives. DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/lw.v13i1.5108
