Abstract

The purpose of this experiment was to study the optimal of dietary protein level of medium type layer in growing period associated with the growth of reproductive organ and the effect on laying performance. The experiment used 480 pullets of 10 weeks old grouped into three treatments of three protein levels, 12, 15 and 18. In laying period all of the treatments used the same ration with 15% protein. The results showed that dietary protein level in growing period significantly affected the growth of reproduction organ, growth performance and eggs quality. Effects of treatment in laying period was significantly different on laying performance only in early laying period, and subsequent period was not differently different. The conclusion of this experiment was the level of 12% adequate for minimal growth, level of 15% adequate for optimal growth and level 18% showed better performances during laying period. The results suggest that in growing period the dietary protein level is not below 15%.     Key Words: Protein, Reproduction Organ, Laying Performance

Abstract

This study was aimed to evaluate the effect of diet containing waste of seaweed Gracilaria sp. on local duck blood lipid profiles including cholesterol, triglycerides, low density lipoprotein (LDL), and high density lipoprotein (HDL). The material in this study were  72 female Tegal ducks aged 22 weeks with 1,318 ± 121 gaverage body weight, diets containing Gracilaria sp. waste (GW) with 18% protein and 2900 kcal/kg metabolic energy and 150 g/ton feed commercial multi-enzyme (ME).  Data were subject to Completely Randomized Design with 6 treatments, (T0) Basal Diets, (T0+) Basal Diets with ME, (T1) Diets with 10% GW, (T1+) Diets with 10% GW + ME, (T2+) Diets with 12.5 % GW + ME, and (T3+) Diets with 15% GW + ME. The treatment was givenfor 12 weeks and blood sample was taken onthe last week. The serum was separated and analyzed for blood lipid profiles using CHOD-PAP. Results showed that diet with 12.5%GW  plus multi-enzyme additives significantly (P<0.05) affected blood lipid profiles of local duck, tended to lower triglycerides and LDL Cholesterol, but increase blood HDL levels.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemanfaatan limbah budidaya rumput laut dengan penambahan multienzim dalam pakan terhadap produktivitas itik tegal. Materi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah 72 ekor itik tegal betina umur 22 minggu. Bahan pakan yang digunakan dalam penelitian terdiri dari jagung, bungkil kedelai, minyak, bekatul, tepung ikan, premix,  ethionine, lysine, limbah rumput laut Gracilaria sp. dan aditif multienzim allzyme SSF dari PT. Alltech dengan dosis 150g/ton pakan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 6 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan penelitian. Setiap unit percobaan terdiri dari 3 ekor itik. Pakan perlakuan yaitu : T 0 : pakan tanpa limbah rumput laut dan enzim ; T1: pakan tanpa limbah rumput laut + ultienzim ; T2: pakan dengan limbah Gracilaria sp. 10% + tanpa multienzim ; T3: pakan dengan limbah Gracilaria sp. 10% + multienzim ; T4:pakan dengan limbah racilaria sp. 12,5% + multienzim; T: pakan dengan limbah Gracilaria sp. 15% + multienzim. Hasil menunjukkan perlakuan tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap produktifitas itik local. Kesimpulannya adalah penggunaan limbah rumput laut sampai taraf 15% dengan multienzim dalam pakan itik petelur tidak menurunkan produksi itik petelur.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pemanfaatan protein ransum padaayam broiler yang dipelihara dalam kandang kepadatan tinggi. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah ayam broiler sebanyak 280 ekor umur 15 hari dengan bobot badan rata-rata 298,37±23,33g. Rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) digunakan pada penelitian ini dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan yaitu T1 = kepadatan kandang 8 ekor/m 2 , T2 = kepadatan kandang 12 ekor/m 2 , T3 = kepadatan kandang 16 ekor/m 2 dan T4 = kepadatan kandang 20 ekor/m 2 . Parameter penelitian terdiri dari konsumsi protein, kecernaan protein, dan retensi nitrogen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi kepadatan kandang berpengaruh nyata menurunkan konsumsi protein (P<0,05) tanpa mempengaruhi kecernaan protein dan retensi nitrogen. Disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan kepadatan kandang tinggi dapat menurunkan konsumsi protein tetapi tidak berpengaruh buruk pada nilai kecernaan protein dan retensi nitrogen.

Abstract

This research aims at investigating the impact of microclimatic ammonia change on Broiler’s  performance in closed house during dry season. Seven hundred and twenty broiler’s with their initial weight of 49.29 ± 1.13 grams are kept in a 60 x 12 m2 cage.The research consists of 4 treatments and 6 experiment units. The microclimatic ammonia change is measured at a distance of 0, ¼, ½, and ¾ of closed house’s length from the inlet. The parameters observed are feed consumption, body weight gain (BWG), feed convertion ratio (FCR), performance index (PI) and Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC). The obtained data are subjected to analysis of variance and several data related to microclimatic ammonia and heat stress index (HSI) are also calculted for their correlation to find out their correlation with the broiler’s’s performance. The research results indicate that the microclimatic ammonia change significantly reduces Broiler’s performance. This is shown by the significant increase of FCR value, decrease of feed consumption, BWG, PI and IOFC (P≤0.05) starting from a distance of ¼ of cage length from the inlet. The correlation analysis result shows a negative, significant correlation between performance with ammonia, while HSI does not show any correlation with the observed parameters. The conclusion of this research is that the increase in microclimatic ammonia at increasingly further distance from the inlet decreases Broiler’s  performance in dry season.

Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the blood mineral of Tegal ducks as a response to diet containing Gracilaria sp. waste and additive multienzyme. The study used 72 laying ducks of 22 weeks old which were allotted to 6 treatments, i.e. (1) control diet, (2) diet with multienzymes, (3) diet with 10% LG (4) diet with 10% LG + multienzyme, (5) diet with 12.5 % LG + multienzymes (6) diet with 15% LG + multienzyme. Commercial Multienzyme consisted of protease, amylase, pectinase, β-glucanase, xylanase, phytase, cellulase from Altech (Allzyme SSF) at a dose of 150 g / ton of feed. Gracilaria sp. waste was given in the form  of meal.  The results demonstrated that feed Gracilaria sp. waste and additives multienzymes significantly (P <0.05) increasing the levels of phosphorus, sodium, potassium and iron in the blood of local ducks, but not blood calcium levels (P> 0.05). The use of feed containing seaweed waste multienzyme coupled to a level 15% gave a good response in the blood mineral levels of local ducks compare to control.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pakan kesukaaan puyuh, mengetahui pengaruh keberagaman pakan, serta mengetahui pengaruh pemberian pakan free choice feeding terhadap performans produksi telur burung puyuh (Coturnix coturnix japonica). Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2011 - Januari 2012 di Kandang Unggas Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang. Materi yang digunakan adalah burung puyuh betina usia 2 minggu sebanyak 216 ekor dengan bobot badan 56,27 g. Bahan pakan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah jagung, bekatul, bungkil kedelai, tepung ikan, bungkil kelapa, Poultry Meat Meal (PMM). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 3 perlakuan dan 9 ulangan yaitu T1 = 2 sumber energi (bekatul, jagung) dan 2 sumber protein (tepung ikan, bungkil kedelai); T2 = 2 sumber energi (bekatul, jagung) dan 3 sumber protein tepung ikan, bungkil kedelai, bungkil kelapa); T3 = 2 sumber energi (bekatul, jagung) dan 4 sumber protein (tepung ikan, bungkil kedelai, bungkil kelapa, PMM). Tiap ulangan terdiri dari 8 ekor puyuh yang ditempatkan dalam kandang baterai. Data dianalisis ragam menggunakan uji F pada taraf 5%, dilanjutkan uji Duncan jika ada pengaruh perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa puyuh usia 9 minggu menyukai jagung sebagai sumber energi dan pada usia 10 - 12 minggu lebih menyukai tepung ikan sebagai sumber protein dari pakan yang lain. Perlakuan free choice feeding dengan keragaman sumber protein memberi pengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi pakan, produksi telur, bobot telur dan konversi pakan. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pemberian pakan bebas pilih dengan bahan pakan dua sumber energi dan protein sudah cukup untuk memenuhi kebutuhan performa produksi puyuh.Kata Kunci : Burung puyuh betina (Coturnix coturnix japonica), Produksi telur, pakan bebas pilih (Free choice feeding).

Abstract

ABSTRAK            Penelitian bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh penggunaan Kiambang (Salvinia molesta) fermentasi dengan level yang berbeda dalam ransum terhadap performan produksi telur itik lokal. Penelitian menggunakan 80 ekor itik lokal (itik Pengging) umur 24 minggu dengan rerata bobot badan 1457 ± 124,8 g (CV = 8,56%). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 perlakuan (0%, 15% tepung Kiambang tanpa fermentasi, 15% tepung Kiambang fermentasi, 17,5% tepung Kiambang fermentasi, 20% tepung Kiambang fermentasi) dan 4 ulangan dengan 4 ekor itik untuk setiap unit percobaan. Parameter yang diamati adalah konsumsi ransum, produksi telur, dan konversi ransum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan tepung Kiambang (Salvinia molesta) yang difermentasi dengan Aspergillus niger dalam ransum memberikan pengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum, produksi telur, dan konversi ransum. Simpulannya adalah Kiambang dapat digunakan dalam ransum sampai taraf 20%. Kata Kunci : itik lokal; kiambang;fermentasi;performan produksi telur ABSTRACT            This research aims to determine the effect of fermented Kiambang with different level sin diets on egg production performance of local duck. The object of this research is eighty 24 weeks local ducks with average body weight 1457±124.8g (CV=8.56%). The design of the experiment is Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatments (0%, 15% non-fermented Kiambang, 15% fermented Kiambang, 17.5% fermented Kiambang, 20% fermented Kiambang) and 4 replicates with 4 ducks for each experimental unit. Parameters measured are feed consumption, egg production, and feed conversion. The results shows that fermented Kiambang with Aspergillus niger in the diets does not influence (P>0.05) on feed consumption, egg production and feed conversion. Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh sistem kandang bertingkat dan penggunaan ampas the dalam ransum terhadap kualitas telur puyuh. Materi yang digunakan 225 ekor puyuh petelur dengan bobot badan rata-rata 122 ± 8,56 g (CV = 7,03).  Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan pola Split Plot terdiri dari tiga ulangan.  Tingkat kandang (L) sebagai petak utama terdiri dari tingkat kandang 1 (L1), tingkat kandang 2 (L2), tingkat kandang 3 (L3), tingkat kandang 4 (L4), tingkat kandang 5 (L5) dan level penggunaan ampas teh (T) sebagai anak petak yaitu T1 :1,5%, T2: 3%, dan T3: 4,5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan sistem kandang bertingkat sampai dengan lantai 5 tidak mempengaruhi kualitas telur dan penggunaan ampas teh berpengaruh menurunkan tebal kerabang telur. Kesimpulan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan ampas teh 4,5% menurunkan tebal kerabangKata kunci :puyuh petelur; tingkat kandang; ampas teh; kualitas telur. ABSTRACT The study was to evaluate the effect of tier cage system and diet tea’s waste on egg quality of layer quail. The material were used 225 layer quail with an average weight122 ± 8,56 g (CV =7,03). The experiment arranged in completely randomized with Split Plot design, consists of three replicated.Tier cage system (L) as the main plot consists is 5 level of tier. L1: level one of the cage, L2: level two,L3: level three, L4: level four, L5: level five and tea’s waste level (T) as the subplot consistsof T1: 1,5%, T2: 3%, dan T3: 4,5%.  The results showed the use of tier cage systems up to level 5 did not affect the quality of the eggs and using of  tea’s waste on diet 3 % (P>,005) but tea’s waste up to 4,5% on diet effect of reducing the thick eggshell. The conclusion was tea’s waste could decrease of egg shell quality.Keywords :layer quail;tier cage system; tea’s waste; egg shell quality.

Abstract

ABSTRAK           Fitase sebagai bahan aditif diharapkan mampu melepaskan ikatan fitat dengan kalsium, fosfor, tembaga, seng dan mangan, serta meningkatkan relaksasi usus dan absorbsi nutrien. Penelitian bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh penambahan enzim fitase dalam ransum terhadap kualitas karkas ayam broiler.Penelitian ini menggunakan 128 ekor DOC broiler strain New Lohman MB 202 umur 3 hari dengan rata-rata bobot awal 104,16 ± 13,17g. Ransum perlakuan dibagi menjadi 4 jenis ransum, yaitu protein 23% dan tanpa menggunakan enzim fitase (T0), protein 21% + enzim fitase 1.000 FTU (T1), protein 23% + enzim fitase 1.000 FTU (T2), dan Protein 23% + Mineral 1%. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan masing-masing unit percobaan berisi 8 ekor ayam broiler. Ransum dan air minum diberikan ad libitum. Parameter yang diamati meliputi bobot hidup, bobot karkas, dan persentase karkas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penambahan enzim fitase dalam ransum ayam broiler tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05) pada bobot hidup, bobot karkas dan persentase karkas. Bobot hidup pada T0, T1, T2, dan T3 masing-masing sebesar 856,50; 995,50; 919,25; dan 924,50g. Bobot karkas pada T0, T1, T2, dan T3 masing-masing sebesar 422,25; 505,25; 442,25; dan 503,73g. Rataan persentase karkar berkisar 51,06 sampai 56,77%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, simpulan yang diperoleh adalah penambahan enzim fitase tidak signifikan terhadap bobot hidup, bobot karsas dan persentase karkas ayam broiler.Kata kunci : ayam broiler, enzim fitase, karkas ABSTRACT Phytase as an additive material was expected to break the bonds of phytate with calcium, phosphorus, copper, zinc and manganese, as well as increasing the intestinal relaxation and absorption of nutrients. This study aimed to determine the effect of the enzyme phytase in the diet on the production of broiler chicken carcasses and determine the level of addition phytase enzyme in the most optimal diet for the production of broiler chicken carcass. the were used in this study128 Day Old Chick (DOC) broilers strain MB 202 New Lohmann. Treatment diet was divided into 4 types of diets, 23% protein without enzyme phytase (T0), protein 21% + 1,000 FTU phytase enzyme (T1), protein 23% + 1,000 FTU phytase enzyme (T2), and Protein 23% + 1% minerals. The experimental design using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replicates each experimental unit contains 8 broiler chickens. Diets and water were given ad libitum. The parameters observed live weight, carcass weight, and carcass percentage. The results showed the addition of the enzyme phytase in broiler diets were not significantly different (P>0.05) on live weight, carcass weight and carcass percentage. Live weight at T0, T1, T2, and T3 respectively 856.50; 995.50; 919.25; and 924,50g. Carcass weight at T0, T1, T2, and T3 respectively amounted to 422.25; 505.25; 442.25; and 503,73g. Mean of carcass percentage was 51.06 and 56.77%. Results of the study concluded that the addition of phytase enzyme was not significant effect on body weight, carcass weight and the carcass percentage of broiler.Keywords : broilers, the enzyme phytase, carcass
