Abstract

The management of MGMP (teacher discussion group) in improving teacher professionalism is aligned with the management principles by optimizing the available resources. This study is aim to find out the management of MGMP Biology’s teachers in Banda Aceh to develop teacher competence. This study applied qualitative method by using interview, observation and documentation as data gathering technique. The participants were the MGMP committee, the members and the headmasters. The result showed that (1) strategy in planning the MGMP program was done by determining the aim of the program, forming the organization structure in form of commitee, determining and delegating job allocation, cordination through social media and involving relevant party internally, (2) MGMP program conducted once a month around two hours at senior high school in Banda Aceh, (3) controlling of program was done internally by head of MGMP, school supervisor, and headmaster through direct visit,           (4) while Lack of staff ability, time constraints in managing the MGMP, and the absence of self-evaluation for staff performance and program evaluation were the drawbacks in the management of MGMP Biology’s teachers. However, the MGMP  of Biology’s teacher  has succeeded in conducting some programs effectively which able to improve teacher professional competence.   Keyword: management, MGMP, professional competence

Abstract

The implementation of strategic management is able to anticipate the need of improved educational quality in the future. This research aims to find out the strategic formulation, strategic implementation, strategic evaluation, and obstacles found in improving teachers’ performance. The research was conducted by means of qualitative method. The data was collected by doing interview, observation, and documentation. The principal, the vice principal, and the teachers were chosen as the subjects of this research. The results of this research indicated that (1) The strategic formulation in improving the teachers’ performance involved internal and external school components that create several strategic activities in order to improve the teachers’ performance; (2) The strategic implementation in improving the perfomance of the teachers was performed by arranging the school programs which were gradually implemented. They consist of short-term programs, mid-term programs, and long-term programs. Those programs were then implemented gradually and the chances for the suggestions related to the activities were given in the regular meetings; (3) The strategic evaluation in improving the teachers’ performance was conducted twice a semester by means of periodic and continuous monitoring. The result of the evaluation was used as the main principle for the upcoming strategy development; (4) The obstacles of strategic implementation found in improving the teachers’ performance were the lack of facility and infrastructure and the dependency on the center institution that slows down the implementation of the school strategy.Keywords:  strategic management and teachers’ performance

Abstract

Abstract: The strategy of school committee is one factor of the success of educational program that includes the knowledge and motivation in improving the education quality. This study aimed to find out what the program of school committee, the strategy/approach used by the school committee, and the obstacle faced by the school committee in improving the education quality. This study used qualitative approach with descriptive method. Techniques of data collection used were observation, interview, and documentation study. Subjects of this study were chairperson of school committee, principal, and teachers. The results of the study showed that: (1) the programs of school committee in improving the education quality included regular meeting of school committee for each semester, participating to approve the School Activity and Budget Plans (RKAS)/School Budget (RAPBS), giving suggestion and recommendation to local government to improve the quality of educational services based on the school’s need. However, the implementation of these programs was not effective yet. (2) The strategies of school committee in improving the education quality were regular meeting with school community at the end of each semester, together with the school, formulating vision and mission of school, formulating RKAS and RAPBS, and developing the potential to better prospect. (3) The obstacle faced by school committee in improving the education quality was the lack of communication between school and school committee because of the lack of time had by school committee, so that the programs of school committee became less effective.Keywords: Strategy, Education Quality, and School CommitteeAbstrak: Strategi komite sekolah merupakan salah satu faktor keberhasilan program pendidikan yang meliputi pengetahuan dan motivasi dalam peningkatan mutu pendidikan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana program komite sekolah, strategi/pendekatan komite sekolah dan kendala komite sekolah dalam peningkatan mutu pendidikan. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pedoman observasi, pedoman wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah komite sekolah, kepala sekolah dan guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Program komite sekolah dalam peningkatan mutu pendidikan meliputi: rapat rutin komite sekolah setiap semester, ikut mensahkan RKAS/RAPBS, Menyampaikan usulan dan rekomendasi kepada pemerintah daerah untuk meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan pendidikan sesuai dengan kebutuhan sekolah, namun dalam pelaksanaannya belum efektif (2) Strategi komite sekolah dalam peningkatan mutu pendidikan melalui kegiatan diantaranya: Rapat rutin dengan warga sekolah pada setiap akhir semester, Bersama-sama sekolah membuat rumusan visi dan misi sekolah, menyusun RKAS dan RAPBS serta mengembangkan potensi kearah yang lebih baik, (3) Kendala komite sekolah dalam peningkatan mutu pendidikan adalah kurangnya komunikasi antara sekolah dengan komite sekolah karena kurangnya waktu yang dimiliki oleh komite sekolah, sehingga program komite sekolah menjadi kurang efektif.Kata Kunci: Strategi, Mutu Pendidikan, dan Komite Sekolah

Abstract

Abstract: Early childhood education today has become the need of society. Although early childhood education, including education level of recognition, but education has contributed a lot to the development of children's education. This study aims to determine the implementation of the management of early childhood education made Al-Fath Sabang. This research uses descriptive method with a qualitative approach to data collection tool while using interviews, observation and documentation study questionnaire. As for the subjects in this study is the element that includes the school principal and teachers in early childhood Sabang Al-Fath, elements of the parents. The results showed that: (1) Planning early childhood education programs in school of Al-Fath, was generally well conceived, it has the look of the planningprogram of educational activities in accordance with the provisions of a plan of activities. (2) Organization of Al-Fath in early childhood, was publicly reflects the relevance of the ability and skills to the needs of education personnel. (3) The implementation of early childhood education in Al-Fath directed in the learning process goes well, effective and fun. (4) Supervision conducted by the two surveillance systems, namely: the direct supervision andcontrol of functional superiors. Supervisor oversight conducted by the Principal, while the functional supervision conducted by the School Trustees.Keywords : Management Education and early childhood

Abstract

Abstract: The management of teachers is one of the factors that affect the quality of learning in schools. Learning is the duty and responsibility of a professional teacher in implementing quality management in schools. The purpose of this study is to determine (1) the planning of learning programs, (2) the implementation of teaching methods, (3) the obstacles faced by teachers in improving the quality of learning, and (4) solution that teachers do in the face of obstacles. This study uses descriptive qualitative approach. Collecting data using the techniques of interview, observation and documentation. Test the validity of the data by reducing, display and verification of data. Subjects in this study were PAI teacher, school principal and chairman MGMP. Research results: (1) applied learning teacher planning PAI prepared in accordance with the instructions guided the development of the syllabus with the standard of competence and basic competences and formulate indicator, preparing lesson plans and make skenorio prepared in accordance with the learning activities; (2) implementation method starts with learning by teachers to plan learning programs, set the mood of the class, and conducting initial, and final core activities; (3) the obstacles faced by teachers in learning, namely: declining student motivation and lack of hours of lessons available; (4) solutions which do teachers in learning, are: students equipped with the tenets of Islam as the foundation of human morality, equipped with a variety of educational skills, and equipped with a wide range of sporting activities.Keywords: Teacher Management and Quality of Learning.Abstrak: Manajemen guru merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah. Pembelajaran merupakan tugas dan tanggung jawab seorang guru profesional dalam melaksanakan manajemen yang berkualitas di sekolah. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui (1) perencanaan program pembelajaran, (2) pelaksanaan metode pembelajaran, (3) hambatan yang dihadapi guru dalam meningkatkan mutu pembelajaran, dan (4) solusi yang dilakukan guru dalam menghadapi hambatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan pedoman wawancara, pedoman observasi dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah guru PAI, kepala sekolah dan ketua MGMP. Hasil penelitiannya: (1) perencanaan pembelajaran yang diterapkan guru PAI disusun sesuai dengan petunjuk pengembangan silabus dengan mempedomani pada SK dan KD serta merumuskan indikator, menyusun RPP dan membuat skenorio disusun sesuai dengan ketentuan kegiatan pembelajaran; (2) pelaksanaan metode pembelajaran oleh guru dimulai dengan: merencanakan program pembelajaran, mengatur suasana kelas, dan melaksanakan kegiatan awal, kegiatan inti dan akhir; (3) hambatan yang dihadapi guru dalam pembelajaran, yaitu: menurun motivasi belajar siswa dan kurangnya jam pelajaran yang tersedia; (4) solusi yang dilakukan guru dalam pembelajaran, adalah: siswa dibekali dengan ajaran Agama Islam sebagai pondasinya akhlak manusia, dibekali dengan berbagai keterampilan pendidikan, dan dibekali dengan berbagai kegiatan olahraga.Kata Kunci: Manajemen Guru dan Mutu Pembelajaran

Abstract

The aim of this research was to figure out the principal’s management behavior in managing BOS fund at State Junior High Schools in Banda Aceh. This qualitative research was conducted by employing a descriptive method. The results showed that (1) the planning program was arranged at the b1eginning of each academic year by the school finance teams according to the results of discussions and meetings with the teachers, the members of school committee and the students’ parents. The results were written in the school work and budget planning by considering 8 educational system standards of Indonesia in order to decide the priority scales based on the available fund. In addition, (2) the implementation of this program began with coordination and socialization. Moreover, the implementation was in accordance with the technical guidance of BOS fund distributed by the Education Board of Banda Aceh Municipality. It was also found that (3) monitoring and was done by the teachers, members of school committee, the principals, the inspectorate, the team of BOS fund from each school, the municipality, and the province. The monitoring report was submitted to the Local Government Agency (SKPD) every three month period. Lastly, (4) the limitations, the delays, and the society’s misunderstanding related to BOS fund were the obstacles found in managing the BOS fund at the schools.Keywords: management, principal, school operational assistance (bos) fund

Abstract

Teacher learning programs and methods is one of effective and efficient learning management effort in improving student achievement. This study aimed to determine the learning preparation programs; the preparation of lesson plans, learning site lesson plan implementation, evaluation and the use of mathematical learning methods on student achievement at SMP 5 Meureubo. This research used descriptive method with quantitative approach. The data collection techniques were observation, interviews, documentation and test. Subjects in this study were all the teachers and students at SMP 5 Meureubo. The results of this study showed that the courses organized by the school-based curriculum beginning of each semester admitted to the school principal. But there were still teachers who were not yet ready to put together a program of learning, while the learning process had occurred up to two months. Learning program was designed by teachers directed by the principal, and through the discussion forum of subject teachers (MGMPs), teachers develop syllabi according to the needs and circumstances of the school environment. The results of the data analysis simultaneously learning program teacher and the use of appropriate learning methods can affect the improvement of student achievement results. From the test results;   1) The study showed that learning preparation program, 2) Implementation of lesson plan, and 3) Evaluation of lesson plan, and mathematical learning method affected significantly and positively student achievement at SMP 5 of Meurreuboh of Aceh barat.Keywords: Learning Program and Student Achievement

Abstract

Penelitian eksperimen ini berdesain Posttest Only Control Group Design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  bahwa: 1) Kemampuan penalaran aljabar siswa yang mendapat model pembelajaran kooperatif lebih baik dibandingkan kemampuan penalaran aljabar siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional. 2) Siswa dengan kemandirian belajar tinggi dan sedang yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif TGT mempunyai kemampuan penalaran aljabar yang lebih baik daripada siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional.  3) Tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan penalaran aljabar siswa dengan kemandirian belajar rendah  yang mendapat pembelajaran kooperatif TGT  dengan siswa yang mendapat pembelajaran konvensional. 4) Tidak terdapat interaksi antara model pembelajaran (kooperatif TGT dan konvensional) dengan kemandirian belajar (tinggi, sedang dan rendah) terhadap kemampuan penalaran aljabar siswa.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is (1) In order to produce quality learning device IPS Economy class XI-based holistic, namely Learning model Problem Based Learning (PBL) (2) To know the description of learning outcomes IPS Economy class XI using learning tools bebasis holistic, namely Learning model Problem based learning (PBL) (3) To study the response of the learner and teacher responses to the devices and process-based learning is a model of holistic learning Problem based learning (PBL) in social studies in Economics (Accounting). This research is a development (Research and Development) design development using the model of Dick & Carey modified. Subjects were students of class XI Bukit Hidayah Madrasah Aliyah Malino Tinggimoncong Gowa districts. the number of students as many as 28 people. Research data collection is done through questionnaire responses of teachers, the questionnaire responses of learners and learning achievement test and then the data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results showed that the developed learning tools that include lesson plans, Powerpoint Media, LKPD and THB after the validation and testing of the device is otherwise in compliance with the validity and can be used in social studies learning Ekonnmi. The results of the analysis of questionnaire responses learner response percentage obtained learners to LKPD of 91.43%, PowerPoint media amounted to 90.54%, and 90.79% Learning Process. These results indicate that the three aspects of getting a very positive response from the learners. While the results of analyzing the response of teachers to RPP 90.00% Media Powerpoint of 92.00%, 92.50% LKPD, categorized as very positive, and the learning process 88.33% with a positive category. Further the study of students have achieved mastery learning classical ie 75.57 with KKM 65. The conclusion is that developed pembelajara device has complied with the validity of the categories of high reliability (1.00) and gained a very positive response from teachers and learners (81-100). Keywords: Holistic Learning, Problem Based Learning Model Learning, Learning Tool

Abstract

Kota Palangka Raya merupakan Ibu Kota Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah yang pembangunannya saat ini terus mengalami peningkatan seiring dengan bertambahnya jumlah penduduk dan semakin pesatnya kegiatan sosial ekonomi masyarakat. Hal ini mengakibatkan sebagian besar ruas jalan dan persimpangan yang ada mengalami penurunan tingkat pelayanan akibatnya sering terjadi penumpukan jumlah kendaraan ringan termasuk sepeda motor maupun kendaraan tidak bermotor, di persimpangan pada saat fase merah alat pemberi isyarat lampu lalu lintas (APILL). Pengaturan APPIL (Alat Pemberi Isyarat Lampu Lalu Lintas) yang baik akan membuat koordinasi di setiap kaki simpang berlangsung baik, namun sebaliknya pengaturan APILL yang tidak baik akan membuat koordinasi di setiap kaki simpang berlangsung tidak baik sehingga menimbulkan tundaan dan antrian panjang lalu lintas. Selain pengaturan APILL, untuk mengatasi penurunan kepadatan di persimpangan bersinyal, maka perlu dilakukan rekayasa lalu lintas dengan cara memberikan fasilitas Ruang Henti Khusus (RHK) Sepeda Motor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kinerja simpang dan kinerja RHK yang terjadi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah melakukan survey lalu lintas selama 24 jam 7 hari beruturut-turut untuk mendapatkan volume lalu lintas, setelah itu melakukan analisis menggunakan PKJI 2014 untuk mendapatkan kinerja simpang dan Balai Teknik Lalu lintas dan Lingkungan Jalan 2012 untuk mendapatkan kinerja RHK. Dari hasil analisis dapat disimpulkan bahwa kinerja simpang dari Jl. Tjilik Riwut – Jl. Kahayan sudah bekerja dengan baik yaitu dengan nilai derajat kejenuhan 0,62 dan tingkat keteresiannya sebesar 8% atau kurang berhasil diterapkan karena tingkat keterisisan terhadap kapasitas <60%.
