Abstract

This research aims to: (1) know the description of counseling in Sungai Lokan;(2)Analyzing the level of counseling role and the level of empoweringself-help system of coconut farmersin Sungai Lokan (3) Analyzing the relationship of the counselor’srole toward empowering self-help system of coconut farmersin Sungai Lokan. This research was conducted in Sungai Lokan of Indragiri Hilir sub-district of Enoch Regency.In this study as many as 30 farmers have taken as samples of 166 populations and selected by purposeful sampling and then were interviewed as respondents. Validity and reliability analysis have been done as a measuring instrument to the 30 respondents.To answering the first goal was done by qualitative descriptive analysis that used to determine a general overview of counseling in Sungai Lokan. To answer the second goal, then the Likert Scale Analysis was used to analyze the level of the role of counselor and empowerment of self-help system farmers in Sungai Lokan. To answering third goal, then the Spearman Rank Correlation Analysis was used to analyze the role of counselor relationship to the empowerment of self-help system coconut farmers.The result of indicate: (1) the counseling role was “less a role” in self-help system of coconut farming activities, which consists of a counselor’s role as an educational counselor. (2) Counseling has not quite well in empowering self-help system of coconut farmers, which consist of human resources, the productive and institutional economy. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the guidance role of palm oil plantations in the rock. To know the empowerment of the oil palm growers self-help patterns in the rock.Conduct an analysis of the achievement of education is seen from better farming, better business, and better livingAnalyze the influence of the role of education forem power mentan dem power mentin fluenceon the destination extension in Bukit Batu subdistrict. The data collection method using survey methods. Type making purposive sampling of respondents with oil palm farmers in the non-pattern excl. the rock. Data were analyzed by descriptive analysis using a Likertscale, SPSS17, and Amos. The results showed1). The roleof extensionof theactivities ofoil palm cultivationin the district of Bukit Batu"quite instrumental".2) The level ofself-empowerment of smallholders pattern in the districtof  Bukit Batu"quite instrumental". 3) The purpose ofthe pattern ofnon-extension of smallholders in the districtof  Bukit Batu"good". 4) The relationship counseling roletowards the empowerment of a relationship with a value (15.415) means there isa relationship, and relationship counseling empowerment to ward sthe goal of a relationship with a value(4.927). Abstract

This research aims to determine intrinsic and extrinsic motivation of farmers to join farmer’s groups in Pagaran Tapah Village Pagaran Subdistrict of Tapah Darussalam District of Rokan Hulu. 62 independent smallholder farmers, who are members of farmer groups, were interviewed as respondents. They were choosen by disproposional random sampling. Data were analyzed by descriptive method, using a Summated Likert Scala Rating (SLR). The result showed that: (1) Intrinsic motivation of farmers is high, it can be seen from the score at enough category (3.29) and extrinsic motivation of farmers is also high, it can be seen from the socre at high category (3.40). Abstract

This study aimed to determine the characteristics of tauke and farmers conducted in Pangkatan Village Subdistrict Pangkatan District Labuhan Batu North Sumatera Province, analyzed the relationship of tauke conducted in Pangkatan Village Subdistrict Pangkatan District Labuhan Batu North Sumatera Province. This study was conducted in Pangkatan Village Subdistrict Pangkatan District Labuhan Batu, North Sumatera Province. The sampling method used Random Sampling. The data analysis used were descriptive analysis with the presentation of qualitative analysis. the relationship form that connected between farmers and ‘tauke’ were marketing of palms oil. The farmers relied to ‘tauke’ to sell their palms oil. The marketing of palms oil were not balanced, where ‘tauke’ were more advantaged than the farmers. The factors caused the relationship of ‘tauke’ and farmers included palms oil marketing, costs of farming, costs of consumption, costs of health, and costs of children education.while, factors of the relationship between ‘tauke’ and farmers were capital factors (economic), production factors, and family factors.   Keyword: Marketing, patron-client, Farmers, tauke and Rumbber’

Abstract

This research aims to : 1) identify social capital of the farmers group of rice in Siak District. 2) identify empowerment of the farmers group of rice in Siak district. 3) identify the correlation between social capital and empowerment of the farmers group of paddy in Siak district. This research used survey method with the number of respondents is 63 farmers who join to the farmers group of rice purposively selected. In identifying social capital and empowerment, the researcher used qualitative desciptive method, while to identify the correlation between social capital and empowerment, the researcher used graphic percentage method. The result of the research showed that : 1) the implementation of social capital to the medium farmers group of rice was better than those in advanced group due to all elements of social capital were handled well by medium group. 2) the empowerment of medium farmers group of rice was higher than advanced group. 3) the percentage of social capital of advanced group was 52.63% followed by empowerment 58.33%. While the perentage of social capital of medium group was 89.47% followed by empowerment 100%.Keywords : Social Capability, Empowerment, farmersGroup, Correlation

Abstract

 The fulfillment of agricultural information needs is one of the determining factors for the success of farming. Currently, there is a change in communication which results in changes in individual behavior which will ultimately affect changes in the social behavior of the community, especially farmers. This study aims to analyze the effect of communication on the convergence of capacity building of coconut farmers in the Indragiri Hilir Regency. The sample in this study was selected by purposive sampling method which collected 140 independent farmers who are members of farmer groups and actively participate in counseling. The data obtained were then analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Communication factors analyzed include sources of information, internal and external characteristics, (recipients of information), communication media, and communication programs (messages). The convergence of capacity building analyzed is involvement in network communication, utilization, and dissemination of information and institutional participation. From the SEM analysis, it is found that the internal characteristics of the recipient of information, communication, and communication programs have a positive effect on the convergence of increasing farmer capacity. External characteristics of recipients of information and sources of information have a negative effect on the convergence of capacity building for coconut farmers in the Indragiri Hilir Regency.Keywords: coconut farmers; communication convergence; capacity building; farmers; extension. ABSTRAK Terpenuhinya kebutuhan informasi pertanian merupakan salah satu faktor penentu keberhasilan usahatani. Saat ini terjadi perubahan komunikasi yang mengakibatkan adanya perubahan perilaku individu yang pada akhirnya akan mempengaruhi perubahan perilaku sosial masyarakat khususnya petani. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh komunikasi terhadap konvergensi peningkatan kapasitas petani kelapa di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir. Sampel dalam penelitian ini dipilih dengan metode purpossive sampling berjumlah 140 orang petani swadaya yang tergabung dalam dalam kelompok tani dan aktif mengikuti penyuluhan. Data yang didapat selanjutnya dianalisis dengan jalur Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Faktor komunikasi yang dianalisis antara lain sumber informasi, karakteristik internal dan eksternal,(penerima informasi), media komunikasi dan komunikasi program (pesan). Konvergensi peningkatan kapasitas yang dianalisis yaitu keterlibatan dalam jaringan komunikasi, tingkat pemanfaatan dan penyebaran informasi dan tingkat partisipasi kelembagaan. Dari analisis SEM didapatkan hasil bahwa karakteristik internal penerima informasi, media komunikasi dan komunikasi program berpengaruh positif terhadap konvergensi peningkatan kapasitas petani. Karakteristik eksternal penerima informasi dan sumber informasi berpengaruh negatif terhadap konvergensi peningkatan kapasitas petani kelapa di Kabupaten Indragiri Hilir. Kata kunci: petani kelapa; konvergensi komunikasi; peningkatan kapasitas; kelompok tani; penyuluhan

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the level of participation and participation problems that faced KWT members in M-KRPL program in Tualang village. The survey method was used in the study, while Simple Random Sampling was also used as the sampling technique. The number of respondents were 28 samples. The samples was taken of the KWT Cendana Wangi members who followed M-KRPL program in Tualang village. Analysis level of participation and problem KWT members that faced in the participation of this study was descriptive method. In measured level of participation can be through participation in planning, implementation, use of the results and evaluation. The level of  participation data members used questionnaire, Scale of Liker’s Summated Rating (LSR) was used. The result showed the level of participation KWT members was categorized as ”high level” with the score 3,88. The level of participation was categorized high be supported the based high score of participation members such as planning, implementation, use of the results and evaluation. M-KRPL program in Tualang Village consist of participation KWT members problems in the development program. The participation problems faced by members namely, problems of production facilities, water availability, disclosure issues, the problems participation of member KWT in the planning and implementation program. Abstract

The research wasaimedto analyze the role of extension on independent smallholder rubberfarmer who included education, dissemination of information or innovation, facilitation, consultation, supervision, and monitoring or evaluation. The research was conducted in GunungToar village of GunungToar district KuantanSingingi Regency from March to December 2015. This research was using survey method. Determination of the respondents is purposive sampling with the consideration that the farmer is following the activities of the extension and is include into the group of farmers.  The Samples of this research was taking as many 120 farmers by the total were  60 from Toar and 60 from Gunung Villages. The Data analyzed was used  Scale Likert’s Summated Rating (SLR).The results showed that the role of extension on independent smallholder rubber farmer categorized “quite a role”  at farming activities in GunungToar District of KuantanSingingi Regency. The extension has categorized “quite a role” in providing consultation, education, dissemination of information or innovation and facilitation, but the extension less instrumental for providing supervision and monitoring or evaluation. The extension is expected to further enhance its role especially in the supervision and monitoring or evaluation is still categorized less of the role.   Keyword: The role of extension, independent smallholder rubber farmer

Abstract

The purposes of this research are: Identify extention media of existing and knowing the level of effectiveness extention media paddy farmer in Tebing Tinggi Village Benai District Kuantan Singingi Regency. This research used a survey method that is directly from the field , by means of face-to-face interviews. The method of respondent taking in this research is sensus. Appropriate purpose of the first research is using descriptive qualitative analysis. The purpose of the second research, the researchers wanted to see the effectiveness  extention media, can be measure by using EPIC model (Empathy, Perception, Impack and Communication) to measure the effectiveness of media extention is using by Likerts Summated Rating Scale ( LSRS ), where each choice answers were scored. Research results obtained extention media of existing in Tebing Tinggi Village. There are three types of media, extention media with a physical object, printed and “Do’a Padang” citizenry extention media. Extention media level of effectiveness by using physical objects are less effective category with an average total score of 3,57. Extention media printed form of sketches and posters are less effective hearts categories with an average total score of 2,51. “Do’a Padang” citizenry extention media  are less quite effective category with an average total score of 3,11.  Keywords: Effectiveness, EPIC Model, Extention Media
