Abstract

Groupers are member of family Serranidae that plays important role in ecology of coral reefs ecosystem as top level predators.Economically, groupers are targets species for their high economic values.Based on statistics data for Karimunjawa fisheries during 2010 to 2014 it is shown a decline in capture of groupers. This implies to the demand of better management. This study dealt with the appraisal of the groupers fisheries in Karimunjawa based on indicators assessment of the Ecosystem Approach Fisheries Management (EAFM). EAFM approach uses comprehensively both ecological, socio-economics as well as institutional and governance capacity in managing fisheries. The results showed that the groupers fisheries has been managed moderately (n=70.59), of which priority management plan started from social development strategy to maintain existing strategy. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the feasibility level of fishing business with pole and line at KM Aspac 11 operating in WPPNRI 715. The research was carried out on the KM Aspac ship and at the fish landing site from March 2 to May 30, 2020. This type of research is a descriptive study. quantitative. The business feasibility variables analyzed in this study are NPV (Net Present Value), IRR (Internal Rate of Return), and Benefit Cost Ratio (B / C Ratio). The results showed that the fishing effort carried out by KM Aspac 11 in WPPNRI 715 was feasible to run with an NPV value of Rp. 916,444,000, amounting to, an IRR of 28.85, and a B / C Ratio of 1.05.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Maret-Mei 2021 di Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera (PPS) Cilacap. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melihat nilai produksi serta kelayakan ukuran ikan hasil tangkapan suatu wilayah perairan yang menjadi spot penangkapan ikan atau fishing ground pada KM Trans Bahari 3 yang berpangkalan di PPS Cilacap. Metode yang digunakan pada peneltian ini untuk mengumpulkan data adalah metode survey dan studi kasus, sedangkan metode analisis dilakukan dengan metode spasial dengan aplikasi GIS ArcMap. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai produksi setiap daeraah penangkapan bervariasi, namun yang terbanyak adalah 770 Kg dalam satu kali setting dan hauling, yaitu wilayah peraairan dengan koordinat 8°58'23.61"LS - 108° 24'13.45"BT. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa dalam hasil tangkapan KM Trans Bahari 3 tidak terdapat tuna sirip kuning yang berukuran tidak layak langkap.atau lebih kecil dari nilai LM-nya. Ukuran LM tuna sirip kuning yang tertangkap pada KM Trans Bahari 3 berada pada rentang 147-152 cm.

Abstract

Salah satu alat penangkapan ikan yang memiliki prospek baik untuk dikembangkan di Indonesia pada saat ini adalah gill net. Alat ini memiliki produktifitas dan efektifitas yang relatif lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan berbagai alat penangkapan ikan lainnya karena dalam pengoperasianya dapat menangkap ik an dalam jumlah yang besar (Baithur, 2015). Jenis ikan yang tertangkap dengan Gill net adalah ikan-ikan dasar dan ikan demersal seperti layang, cakalang, kembung dan lain-lain. Selain ikan dasar dan ikan demersal tujuan penangkapan Gill net. Tidak hanya ikan saja udang, lobster, kepiting, juga terjerat oleh Gill net. Tujuan dilaksanakannya penelitian  ini  adalah untuk mengetahui komposisi dan jenis ikan hasil tangkapan Gill net baik yang target, bycatch/sampingan, dan discard/dibuang. Dalam sekali trip kapal gillnet beroperasi selama 30 hari, setting dilakukan sebanyak 1 kali dalam sehari dalam waktu 1 – 2 jam, kemudian dilanjutkan immarsingmenunggu jaring di naikan ke atas kapal, dan dilanjutkan dengan hauling selama 9 jam.

Abstract

Zinc and copper are micronutrients that are the factors that support microalgae growth rate besides macronutrients, CO2, temperature, salinity, and pH. Growth of Nannochlopsis sp was observed to determine the influence of the addition of Zn and Cu concentration. Microalgae cultivation was located outdoors on the semi-mass scale using 800 L medium on mesophilic condition in 3 treatments with the addition of 1 ppm, 3 ppm, and 5 ppm concentrations of Zn and Cu metals. Cell density was calculated using a hemocytometer, assays the absorbed metal content was measured by AAS. The study aimed to test the growth response of Nannochloropsis sp cells to Zn and Cu metals. The growth rate of microalgae was observed for the addition of Zn and Cu concentration in the cultivation medium. The result showed the highest Nannochloropsis sp growth rate for Zn addition was 0.053/day and for Cu addition was 0.279/day. Between Zn and Cu addition, the highest growth rate was observed in the addition of 1 ppm Cu metal (Cu1) which was equal to 0.279/day. This shows that adding micronutrients are not automatically will increase the growth rate of microalgae as well.

Abstract

One area that has the potential for Yellowfin Tuna (Thunnus Albacares) is in the southern area of ​​Java, especially the Cilacap sea waters. To increase efficiency in the search for fishing areas, technology is needed that can determine potential fishing areas. One technique for determining fishing areas is by utilizing remote sensing technology using oceanographic parameter image data via the Aqua MODIS satellite. The oceanographic parameters used were chlorophyll-a and sea surface temperature (SST). The content of chlorophyll-a in the waters for yellowfin tuna (Thunnus Albacares) ranges from 0.15 mg/m3 – 0.17 mg/m3 . The sea surface temperature (SST) for Yellowfin Tuna (Thunnus Albacares) ranges from 26OC - 29OC. From the results of the analysis of mapping, the waters in the sea area of ​​​​Cilacap is a suitable habitats marked by the number of coordinates of the Potential Fishing Zone (ZPPI).

Abstract

The need for fisheries resources as a source of animal protein encourages the development of capture fisheries businesses. Not infrequently a fishing business in the field of shipping due to lack of care and work cause human souls to become victims. The spirit of the fishermen to go to sea is the main indicator in increasing capture fisheries production in Karawang Regency. However, it is very unfortunate that this was not followed by the awareness of the fishermen about the dangers of working at sea without using personal safety equipment. Therefore, the Karawang Polytechnic of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Study Program provides training to fishermen on the importance of safety in shipping. As a form of realization of the contents of the Tridarma of Higher Education and the social responsibility and professionalism of a Higher Education in community empowerment towards equitable development. Socialization of Occupational Safety on Fishing Vessels in Karawang Regency is carried out by lecture, question and answer, and demonstration methods. The training materials provided include positioning exercises and anchoring maps with sea charts in Karawang waters, training in the use of map anchoring equipment sets for shipping, training in the use of red hand flares for safety in emergency conditions, training in the use of parachutes signals for safety in emergency conditions, training in the use smoke signal for safety in emergencies, training in the use of lifebuoys for safety in shipping, and training in the use of life jackets. This community service activity was attended by 15 fishermen who live in Karawang Regency.Abstrak: Kebutuhan akan sumberdaya perikanan sebagai salah satu sumber protein hewani mendorong pengembangan usaha perikanan tangkap. Tidak jarang suatu usaha perikanan dibidang perkapalan karena kurang teliti dalam perawatan dan pekerjaannya mengakibatkan jiwa manusia menjadi korban. Semangat melaut para nelayan adalah indikator utama dalam peningkatan produksi perikanan tangkap di Kabupaten Karawang. Namun sangat disayangkan hal ini tidak diikuti dengan adanya kesadaran para nelayan akan bahaya bekerja di laut tanpa menggunakan alat keselamatan diri. Oleh karena itu Program Studi Teknik Penangkapan Ikan Politeknik Kelautan dan Perikanan Karawang memberikan pelatihan kepada para nelayan akan pentingnya keselamatan dalam pelayaran. Sebagai salah satu bentuk realisasi dari isi Tridarma Perguruan Tinggi dan tanggung jawab sosial serta profesionalisme suatu Perguruan Tinggi dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat menuju pemerataan pembangunan. Sosialisasi Keselamatan Kerja Pada Kapal Penangkap Ikan di Kabupaten Karawang dilakukan dengan metode ceramah, tanya jawab, dan demonstrasi. Materi pelatihan yang diberikan antara lain latihan penentuan posisi dan menjangka peta dengan peta laut di perairan karawang, latihan penggunaan set peralatan menjangka peta untuk pelayaran, latihan penggunaan red handflare untuk keselamatan pada kondisi darurat, latihan penggunaan parachute signal untuk keselamatan pada kondisi darurat, latihan penggunaan smoke signal untuk keselamatan pada kondisi darurat, latihan penggunaan lifebouy untuk keselamatan dalam pelayaran, dan latihan penggunaan life jacket. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini di ikuti oleh 15 orang nelayan yang tinggal di Kabupaten Karawang.

Abstract

The majority of fishermen in the coastal areas of Karawang are traditional fishermen with small boats. The condition of a small boat certainly does not allow for cool storage in the ship's hatch, so that bulk ice cubes are a way out for fishermen to maintain the quality of the fresh quality of the fish they catch so that the selling price does not fall. This research was conducted in the coastal area of Karawang from July-December 2022. The study was conducted by trials of making ice gel with the addition of alcohol and salt. The manufacture of ice gel is carried out on a household scale with ingredients that are easy to obtain and affordable. The results of making ice gel are tested for durability with the following results: Ice gel with added salt has a fast freezing time when compared to ice gel with additional alcohol, ice gel with added salt can maintain cold (freezing) temperatures better than ice gel with additional alcohol. The test results of fish samples stored using ice gel with the addition of salt have less ALT value than ice gel with the addition of alcohol, meaning that bacteria do not develop much in fish stored with salt ice gel so that the quality of fish freshness is maintained properly.
