Abstract

Abstract:The objective of this research was to describe the VIII grade students geometry skills atSMP N 16 Surakarta in the level 0 (visualization), level 1 (analysis), and level 2 (informaldeduction) van Hiele level of thinking in solving the geometry problem. This research was aqualitative research in the form of case study analyzing deeply the students geometry skill insolving the geometry problem based on van Hiele level of thingking. The subject of this researchwas nine students of VIII grade at SMP N 16 Surakarta consisted of three students of level 0(visualization), three students of level 1 (analysis), and three students of level 2 (informaldeduction) obtained from clustering technic. The data in this research was the characteristics ofgeometry skills obtained from the recording script of the interview done twice for the sake oftriangulation. The result of this research was the geometry skills of students in solving thegeometry problem. Students of level 0 (visualization) at the visual skill can define the square basedon the shape appearance; descriptive skill, can group the right name of the pictures given; drawingskill, can draw the square by labeling the certain parts; logical skill, can understand theconservation of the square picture in any position and realize the similarity from some pictures ofsquare; and application skill, can correlate the given information (physical object) and develop itinto geometry model as well as explain the characteristics of geometry from the physicalappearance. Then, the syudents of level 1 (analysis) at the visual skill, can explain thecharacteristics of the picture; descriptive skill, can define the square based on the characteristics;drawing skill, can construct the picture based on the given characteristics (verbal information) anddraw draw the other square; logical skill can mention the differences of squares and realize that thecharacteristics of square can be used to differentiate kinds of square; and application skill, can usethe geometry model in solving the problem. Next, the students of level 2 (informal deduction) atvisual skill, can admit the relation from any kinds of square by admitting the general characteristic;descriptive skill, can create the sentences showing the relation among the square based on thegeneral characteristics; drawing skill, can draw other square from the given square and explain thecharacteristics; logical skill, can use the characteristics of a square to decide a class of squarewhich is in the other kinds of square; and application skill, can use the model concept ofmathematic representing the relation among the objects.Key words: geometry kill, van Hiele level of thinking, problem solving, and geometry.

Abstract

Salah satu bentuk interaksi makhluk hidup di bumi ini adalah predasi, yang secara matematis dapat disajikan dalam model Lotka-Volterra. Dalam penelitian ini, dikaji model dinamik diskrit Lotka-Volterra yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan metode skema beda hingga tak standar. Perilaku dari titik kesetimbangan model bersifat stabil asimtotis lokal jika memenuhi syarat masing-masing titik kesetimbangan. Perubahan nilai parameter akan memberikan pengaruh pada perubahan kestabilan titik kesetimbangan. Analisis sensitivitas terhadap koeksistensi titik kesetimbangan dilakukan secara numerik. Kenaikan tingkat kompetisi antar predator dan tingkat interaksi predator terhadap prey mengakibatkan kenaikan jumlah populasi predator.Kata kunci: model lotka-volterra, metode skema beda hingga tak standar, titik kesetimbangan, analisa kestabilan.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan masalah belajar  mahasiswa pada materi integral khususnya pada aplikasi mencari luas daerah ditinjau dari perspektif disposisi matematis. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 8 mahasiswa semester 2 Program Studi Matematika Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Purwokerto yang terdiri dari 5 mahasiswa kategori disposisi matematis positif rendah dan 3 mahasiswa kategori disposisi matematis positif sedang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes diagnostik dan wawancara untuk mendapatkan data kesulitan belajar, sedangkan instrumen angket untuk mendapatkan  data disposisi matematis. Validasi data penelitian ini menggunakan metode triangulasi data. Teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kesulitan yang dialami mahasiswa pada materi aplikasi integral untuk luas daerah mahasiswa pada kategori disposisi matematis positif rendah dan positif sedang mengalami kesulitan belajar yang sama pada mata kuliah kalkulus 2 materi aplikasi integral untuk luas daerah, yaitu kesulitan dalam menggambar grafik fungsi dan menentukan luas daerah yang dicari. Selain dua kesulitan tersebut, mahasiswa yang masuk kategori disposisi matematis positif rendah adalah kesulitan menentukan batas integral dan kesulitan memahami integral. Selain itu, dapat disimpulkan juga mahasiswa yang masuk kategori disposisi matematis positif sedang akan lebih berusaha dan bertahan dalam menyelesaikan kesulitan dibandingkan mahasiswa pada kategori positif rendah. This study aims to describe student learning problems on integral material in the application of finding the area in terms of the perspective of mathematical disposition. The subjects of this study were 8 students of the mathematics study program of a university in Purwokerto, consisting of 5 students in the low positive mathematical disposition category and 3 students in the moderate positive mathematical disposition category. The results showed that the difficulties experienced by students in integral application material in the category of low and moderate positive mathematical dispositions were experiencing the same learning difficulties in the calculus 2 course, integral application material for area, namely difficulties in drawing function graphs and determining the area sought. In addition to these two difficulties, students who were in the category of moderate positive mathematical disposition will try and strive more to overcome the difficulties than those who were in low positive category.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan tujuan mendeskripsikan tingkat berpikir mahasiswa berdasarkan Teori van Hiele yang ditinjau dari gaya kognitif pada mata kuliah Geometri Analitik. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester 2 Program Studi Matematika Fakultas Sains dan Teknologi Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Purwokerto sebanyak 5 mahasiswa mewakili kelompok Field Dependent (FD), 5 mahasiswa mewakili Fieid Intermediate (FM) dan 2 mahasiswa mewakili Independent Field (FI). Data tingkat berpikir diperoleh dari tes diagnostik dan wawancara, sedangkan data gaya kognitif diperoleh dari hasil uji Group Embedded Figure (GEFT). Subjek diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling dan validasi data menggunakan metode triangulasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat berpikir mahasiswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif FD adalah visualisasi dan analisis, tingkat berpikir mahasiswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif FM adalah visualisasi dan pra-analisis, dan tingkat berpikir siswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif FI adalah pra-deduksi informal.

Abstract

Developing a video for learning mathematics in the Number Theory course as the purpose of this research. This needs to be done to help students understand the material during online learning. The development procedure in this R&D research is based on the ADDIE product development model (analyze, design, development, implementation, evaluation). The stages of this research are limited to the development and trial stages. Furthermore, at the trial stage, one class is carried out to take the Number Theory course in the odd semester for the Academic Year 2021-2022. The results of this study are (1) several learning videos have been formed in the Number Theory course based on sub-materials; (2) the learning video media is declared feasible based on the results of the assessment from a team of experts consisting of two validators, the results obtained from four aspects, namely the material aspect, language and image aspects, presentation aspects, and finally the display aspect with a final average score of 75 with appropriate criteria; and (3) the results of the trial obtained the results of the completeness test, the average score was 75.28 and the comparative test results obtained the average value. The mean of completeness of the experimental class and the control class were 75.28 and 60.28. The value of the experimental class is better than the control class.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to: (1) describe the perceptions of students in the Mathematics Study Program of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Purwokerto University of Nahdlatul Ulama (UNU) on learning interactions between students and students and students and lecturers; (2) describe the perceptions of students in the Mathematics Study Program of UNU Purwokerto about the learning environment in online learning. The subjects of this study were students in the 2nd and the 4th semester of the Mathematics Study Program of UNU Purwokerto. This research was conducted in April - June 2020. The data in this study were obtained from questionnaires and interviews. . The subjects in this study were taken by purposive sampling technique. The data validation used the triangulation method. Data analysis techniques used data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed the following: 1) students had difficulty in interacting with fellow students and lecturers in online lectures. This is evidenced by the high level of presentation which shows disagreement with the statement that says student interaction in online lectures has gone well; 2) students response to the learning environment in online lectures, it can be concluded that the learning environment in online lectures has not supported students to learn.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe affective assessment in mathematics subjects using LMS media as a media to support learning activities between students and teachers in online learning. The subjects of this study were 214 students who were divided into five classes in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Purbalingga. This research was conducted in July – September 2021. The data in this study were obtained from the results of filling out questionnaires related to affective assessment in online learning. The scale used to measure the affective aspect of the activities of an object is the Likert scale. The data analysis technique used descriptive statistical methods. The results showed that the implementation of the affective domain assessment in online learning through the Learning Management System (LMS) in the mathematics subjects of class XI science students at SMA Negeri 1 Purbalingga was running well. Teachers and students can already use the application as expected so that students can follow the learning well. With the LMS, it is easier for students to understand the material, get assignments and assessments and can interact and discuss with the teacher smoothly. In addition, students also remain highly motivated even though learning cannot be done face-to-face.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the affective assessment of online learning through WhatsApp Group (WAG) media for mathematics students. This study is a descriptive quantitative study. The subjects of this study were 20 students of the Mathematics Study Program, Nahdlatul Ulama University, Purwokerto who had filled out the research questionnaire. This research was carried out in July – August 2021. The instrument used to obtain data in this study was a questionnaire containing 6 close-ended questiouns related to affective assessment in online learning with a Likert scale format distributed via Google Form to 20 respondents. This study used descriptive statistical methods as the data analysis. The study shows that the affective assessment of online learning through WhatsApp Group (WAG) for mathematics students was good according to the data obtained from the students’ answers in filling out the questionnaires. During the online learning process, students are able to pay attention well, understand the material more easily, get assignments and assessments, interact and discuss the material actively with lecturers and fellow students. In addition, students also remain motivated to learn online even though learning cannot be done face-to-face.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini adalah meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam menyusun soal HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) sesuai dengan kisi-kisi Ujian Nasional (UN) Matematika. Beberapa kesulitan yang dialami oleh bapak/ibu guru selama mengajarkan soal HOTS adalah kurangnya pemahaman terkait soal HOTS, membuat soal HOTS sesuai dengan indikator, dan kesulitan dalam mengajarkan ke siswa. Kegiatan PKM ini dalam bentuk workshop dimana dimulai dari penyampaian materi, sesi tanya jawab, dan penyusunan soal HOTS sesuai dengan level kognitif matematika. Dimana kegiatan ini bekerjasama dengan KKG Kecamatan Sumpiuh dengan peserta adalah bapak/ibu guru sebanyak 56 guru kelas 5 dan 6. Metode yang digunakan adalah Service Learning. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah dapat meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam menyusun soal HOTS sesuai dengan level kognitif matematika ditunjukkan dari hasil penilaian bahwa (1) pada soal HOTS level pengetahuan dan pemahaman (L1) 64.3% masuk kriteria sangat baik; (2) pada soal HOTS level aplikasi (L2) 44.6% peserta masuk kriteria sangat baik; (3) pada soal HOTS level penalaran (L3) sebanyak 46.4% masuk dalam kriteria cukup.
