Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the percentage of students who experience misconceptions (MIS), know the concept (KCC), do not know the concept (LK), Guess (LG), and not confidence (NC) in learning electricity concepts; in what subconcepts students experience misconceptions and what causes misconceptions. The object of the research was the first-level D-III students of Radiology Engineering in the first semester of the 2016/2017 school year who contracted the Basic Physics course. The study was conducted in November 2016. The method used is descriptive method. In this study the CRI Three-Tier Test decision matrix is used to identify student misconceptions. Identification is done by using a structured choice diagnostic test that is equipped with an index of student confidence in the test answers and also equipped with a column of reasons from the answers given by students. To find out the cause of the misconception conducted interviews. The results of CRI diagnostic data analysis showed that of the 37 students who were the object of research it was found that as many as 26.35% did not know the concept (LK), 20.95% knew the concept (KCC) where the students were in accordance with scientific conceptions, 0.51% students guessed LG), 40.88% of students experienced misconceptions (Mis), and 11.32% of answers to students who were not confident (NC). The highest percentage of misconception was found in the sub-principle of ohm's legal concept (41.08%), kirchhoff's legal sub-concept (41.89%) and sub-basic concepts of electric and parallel circuits (40.54%). The results of the interviews showed that the causes of the misconceptions included the character of abstract electrical concepts, lack of understanding of the concept, difficulty analyzing the sequence, and the unpreparedness of students to accept material delivered by the lecturer.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi miskonsepsi pada pembelajaran fisika dasar selama masa pandemic covid-19. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif  dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan analisis data menggunakan persentase. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa bidang IPA FKIP Universitas Serambi Mekkah yang berjumlah 17 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah soal tes diagnostic yang di lengkapi dengan kolom  Certainty of Response Index  (CRI) dan alasan untuk  membedakan siswa yang tidak tahu konsep (LK), tahu konsep (KCC), menebak (LG), miskonsepsi (MK), dan jawaban tidak konfiden (NC). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tentang potensi miskonsepsi pada pembelajaran fisika dasar selama masa pandemic covid-19, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa masih rendah, hal ini terbukti dari hasil analisis data potensi miskonsepsi yang terjadi pada per individu rata-rata sebesar 29,04%, potensi miskonsepsi per item soal sebesar 10,7%, sedangkan potensi miskonsepsi pada sub pokok bahasan sebesar 10.41% dari rata-rata persentase tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat miskonsepsi yang terjadi selama pembelajaran daring masa pandemic covid-19 masing dikategorikan rendah. Respons mahasiswa terhadap penggunaan media yaitu positif, hal ini terbukti dari nilai rata-rata keseluruhan respon mahasiswa adalah 3,7 dengan kategori baik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan model discovery Learningberbasis praktikum berpengaruh terhadap literasi sains siswa dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi struktur dan fungsi jaringan tumbuhan dikelas Xl SMA 2 Peusangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif sederhana dan jenis penelitian eksperimen. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan pretest dan posttest control grup desain, pengambilan sampel dilakukaan claster random sampling, yaitu kelas XI IPA 1 terdiri dari 34 siswa yang digunakan sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Discovery Learning berbasis praktikum, sedangkan kelas XI IPA 2 terdiri dari 34 siswa yang digunakan sebagai kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa nilai posttest pada kelas eksperimen memperoleh hasil dengan nilai rata-rata 87, 05 sedangkan untuk kelas control diperoleh nilai rata-rata yaitu73,53. Terdapat perbedaan diantara kedua kelas tersebut karena menggunakan model pembelajara discovery learning berbasis praktikum pada kelas eksperimen, sedangkan pada kelas control menggunakan pembelajaran konvensioanal yang berpengaruh terhadap literasi sains dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi struktur dan fungsi jaringan tumbuhan di kelas XI SMA 2 Peusangan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' understanding of using Google Classroom as anonline learning medium at FKIP USM. The method used in this study is descriptiveanalysis with a quantitative approach and data analysis using percentages. The subjectsin this study were students of the natural sciences (Physics, Mathematics, Biology, andChemistry) environment FKIP Universitas Serambi Mekkah, amounting to 51 people.The instrument used in this study was a student understanding questionnaire. Based onthe results of this study, there are 1 respondent (2%) who responds very high, 5respondents (10%) responds high, 35 respondents (69%) responds moderately, 9respondents (18%) responds low, and 1 respondent (2%) ) responds very low. Based onthe results of research on student understanding in the use of Google Classroom inonline learning, it can be concluded that it is good, this is evident from student datamaking it easier to store and access documents such as material or importantassignments sent via Google Classroom, so that if students have not had time to printthe required documents, they can access them first through Google Classroom. Inaddition, students are also facilitated to obtain announcements given by lecturersquickly (real time) so that they become effective and efficient in terms of time.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain a description of the scientific literacy ability of IPA (natural sciences) teachers. This study is descriptive research. Data was collected by distributing diagnostic test instruments distributed to 29 teachers who were selected as a sample of the total population of science teachers teaching at SMPN (public junior high school) throughout Banda Aceh. The test instrument used in the form of Four-Tier Multiple Choice questions as many as 24 items equipped with CRI confidence level scale along with the reasons for the answer choices. The scientific literacy competency aspect used is in accordance with the 2017 PISA determination which includes 3 aspects, namely the competence aspect to explain phenomena scientifically, the competence aspect to design and evaluate scientific investigations, and the competence aspect to interpret data and evidence scientifically. The results showed that the scientific literacy ability of science teachers at SMPN in Banda Aceh was in the medium category with a percentage of 48.48%. The ability based on competence to explain phenomena scientifically is in the medium category with a percentage of 46.55%, the competence to design and evaluate scientific investigations is in the medium category with a percentage of 61.64% and the competence to interpret data and evidence scientifically is in the medium category as well with a percentage of 37.24%. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that science teachers at public junior high schools in Banda Aceh have moderate scientific literacy skills. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the level of misconception using the Four-Tier Test (FTT) for science teachers. Data collection to obtain the required information was carried out using a diagnostic test instrument which was distributed to 29 teachers who were selected as a sample of the total population of science teachers who teach at SMPN in Banda Aceh. To provide an interpretation by differentiating the level of conception of respondents, they are divided into seven categories based on the combination of answers, namely scientific conceptions (SC), misconceptions (MSC), lack of knowledge guessing (LKG), lack of knowledge deficiency (LKD), false positives (FP), false negatives (FN), cannot be encoded (TKD). The test instrument used in the form of Four-Tier Multiple Choice questions as many as 24 items has been equipped with a choice of the Certainty of Response Index (CRI) confidence level along with the reasons for the answer choices. The results showed that scientific conceptions (SC) 30.46%, misconceptions (MSC) 29.74%, lack of knowledge guessing (LKG) 5.32%, lack of knowledge deficiency (LKD) 8.48%, false positives (FP) 13.07%, false negatives (FN) 12.93%.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menentukan dampak media PhET simulasi untuk meminimalkan kuantitas miskonsepsi pada materi listik dinamis siswa SMAN 5 Banda Aceh.  Penelitian ini menggunakan  desain  pre-experimental  design  dengan  bentuk  one  group  pretest-posttest design.  Sampel  yang  digunakan  adalah  kelas  XII-IA4 dan kelas XII-IA5  yang  berjumlah  46  siswa. Soal  pretest  dan  posttest yang dilengkapi dengan kolom  Certainty of Response Index  (CRI) dan alasan untuk  membedakan siswa yang tidak tahu konsep (LK), tahu konsep (KCC), menebak (LG), miskonsepsi (MK), dan jawaban tidak konfiden (NC). Hasil pretes menunjukkan bahwa 25,95 % siswa tidak tahu konsep (LK), 20,79% siswa tahu konsep (KCC), 0,68% siswa menebak (LG), 40,49% siswa yang miskonsepsi (Mis), 12, 11 % siswa tidak konfiden (NC). Setelah pembelajaran dengan simulasi komputer, siswa yang mengalami miskonsepsi (Mis) menurun menjadi 13,04%. Kesimpulan yang diperoleh adalah  pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media simulasi komputer mampu secara signifikan meminimalkan kuantitas siswa pada materi listrik dinamis

Abstract

Ecotourism improvement has been a challenge in developing the community’s welfare. This study investigated the potential role of Panglima Laôt as traditional wisdom for the sustainable development of marine ecotourism. Its role was responsible for a sustainable environment and preservation of culture through a traditional approach. Teupin Layeu Iboih beach has potential and fantastic scenery on the coast and under seawater that attracts many tourists. These merits should provide many benefits for the residents in the tourist spot. In this sense, the contributions of the Panglima Laôt have appeared to improve the marine resources and the quality of the landscape in Teupin Layeu Iboih, Sabang city. The Panglima Laôt has formulated and promulgated strict regulations to encourage a sustainable coastal and marine environment. The local wisdom would increase the welfare of the people living in the coastal area, and the harmonization between humans and the biosphere can be achieved.
