Abstract

Feasibility and Perspective Analysis of Sagu Processing Development in South Sulawesi. Sago starch has an important role both as a staple food and a material for making various other processed food products. Sago processing can produce both wet sago and dried sago starch. The study was conducted to determine the feasibility of the sago processing business and its development perspective in Southeast Sulawesi. The study was conducted in South Konawe District in March - December 2017. Data were collected through field observations of the Biosagu Sejahtera Farmer Group in Matalamokula Village, North Moramo Sub District which has wet and dry sago production units. The data collected were the production capacity of wet sago and dry sago, the price of sago trees, the price of wet sago and dry sago, the production costs include labor costs, fuel costs, packaging costs as well as the costs of depreciation of tools and machinery. Data were analyzed using a profit equation. The results showed that the production of wet sago starch on a processing scale of 12 sago trees (1 production cycle) was feasible because it provided a profit of 7,314,000 IDR with Production-Break Even Point (PBEP) of 2,359 kg and Price BEP of 1,493 IDR and RCR value was 1.93. Likewise, dry sago production business was feasible with an RCR of 2.18; BEP from the production and price were 460 kg and 7,571 IDR respectively and provided profit of around 6,435,000 IDR. Thus the production of wet sago and dry sago can be alternative non-farm employment in rural areas. Perspective of sago processing in Southeast Sulawesi in the future is quite good due to the several supports such as availability of sago plantation area, the availability of human resources, the technology available as well as policies and regulations from the government. The demand for sago in the future will be influenced by the demand to substitute commodities that are still imported such as wheat and sugar as well as products that have a large domestic use, namely bioethanol. The development of sago in the future needs to respond to changes in demand by changing the management model with conventional management to modern technology. Tepung sagu memiliki peran penting baik sebagai bahan pangan pokok maupun sebagai bahan pembuatan berbagai produk olahan pangan lainnya. Pengolahan sagu dapat menghasilkan tepung sagu basah dan tepung sagu kering. Kajian dilakukan untuk mengetahui kelayakan usaha pengolahan sagu serta perspektif pengembangannya di Sulawesi Tenggara. Penelitian dilakukan di Kabupaten Konawe Selatan bulan Maret – Desember tahun 2017. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi lapangan terhadap Kelompok Tani Biosagu Sejahtera Desa Matalamokula, Kecamatan Moramo Utara yang memiliki unit produksi sagu basah dan unit produksi sagu kering. Data yang dikumpulkan  adalah kapasitas produksi sagu basah dan sagu kering, harga pohon sagu, harga sagu basah dan sagu kering, biaya produksi meliputi biaya tenaga kerja, biaya bahan bakar, biaya kemasan serta biaya penyusutan alat dan mesin, analisis data dilakukan menggunakan persamaan keuntungan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa usaha produksi tepung sagu basah pada skala pengolahan 12 pohon sagu (1 siklus produksi) layak diusahakan karena memberikan keuntungan sebesar Rp 7.314.000, dengan nilai Titik Impas Produksi (TIP) dan Titik Impas Harga (TIH) masing-masing 2.359 kg dan Rp 1.493 serta nilai RCR sebesar 1,93. Usaha produksi sagu kering layak dilakukan dengan nilai RCR sebesar 2,18; nilai TIP dan TIH masing-masing 460 kg dan Rp 7.571 serta memberikan keuntungan sebesar Rp 6.435.000. Usaha produksi sagu basah maupun sagu kering dapat menjadi alternatif lapangan kerja non farm di pedesaan. Perspektif pengolahan sagu di Sulawesi Tenggara ke depan cukup baik karena ditunjang ketersediaan areal pertanaman sagu cukup luas, ketersediaan sumberdaya manusia, teknologi hingga dukungan kebijakan dan regulasi. Permintaan sagu ke depan akan dihela oleh permintaan untuk mensubstitusi komoditas-komoditas yang selama ini masih diimpor seperti gandum dan gula maupun produk yang pemanfaatannya dalam negeri cukup besar yaitu bioetanol. Pengembangan sagu juga perlu merespon perubahan-perubahan permintaan tersebut dengan mengubah model pengelolaan dengan teknologi konvensional menjadi teknologi modern.

Abstract

Sagu merupakan salah satu pangan lokal penting di Kota Kendari. Kajian dilakukan untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi persepsi dan konsumsi pangan lokal sagu di Kota Kendari. Kajian dilakukan pada bulan Januari-Mei 2016 di Kota Kendari menggunakan metode survey terhadap 150 orang responden yang dipilih berdasarkan stratified random sampling berbasis etnis. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi masyarakat terhadap pangan lokal sagu dipengaruhi secara nyata oleh jumlah anggota keluarga (0,008), etnis (0,042), lama mukim di Kota Kendari (0,002) dan tingkat kosmopolit (0,061). Sementara itu konsumsi pangan lokal sagu dipengaruhi secara nyata oleh etnis (1,628), tingkat kosmopolit (1,628) dan persepsi (4,935). Ke depan upaya peningkatan persepsi dan konsumsi pangan lokal sagu terus perlu di galakkan melalui berbagai ajang promosi dan sosialisasi.

Abstract

Abstrak. Desa Cialam Jaya adalah desa yang memiliki yang memiliki potensi pengembangan perikanan budidaya air tawar sebagai usaha unggulan menopang kesejahteraan masyarakat.  Namun demikian, saat ini potensi tersebut belum dikelola dengan baik sehingga belum memberikan dampat manfaat  bagi kesejahteraan masyarakat. Permasalahan pengelolaan budidaya ikan yang dihadapi masyarakat  Desa Cialam Jaya adalah (1) Kolam-kolam ikan yang dimiliki masyarakat belum dikelola dengan baik; (2) Rendahnya produktivitas kolam budidaya; (3) Terbatasnya sumber perolehan bibit ikan yang berkualitas; dan (4)  Minimnya kemampuan manajemen usaha. Metode yang di gunakan untuk memecahkan permasalan dan mencapai target luaran adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan pengelolaan budidaya ikan air tawar secara organik, pelatihan manajemen usaha, manajemen poduksi, manajemen keuangan serta pemasaran. Hasil yang dicapai pada tahun pertama pelaksanaan program dari 3 (tiga) tahun yang direncanakn adalah terwujudnya perbaikan pengelolaan kolam budidaya dengan baik, kolam lebih tertata dan teratur sehingga siklus produksi dan pemeliharaan dapat sesuai dengan ketentuan budidaya yang ideal, terwujud peningkatan produktivitas, dan peningkatan efisensi. Hasil lainnya adalah telah tersediannya indukan ikan KOI yang bersertifikat sehingga mutu dan kuantitas benih ikan terkhusus ikan koi dapat terjamin.  Peningkatan jumlah aset mitra pada tahun pertama ini sebesar 20%. Kata kunci: Desa Cialam Jaya, Aquaculture, Blue Economi

Abstract

Local wisdom of the community in the agricultural system gains a large number of interests in the field of research because of its ties to the aspects of ecology, economy, and socio-culture. This study aims to analyze Tukang Besi islands community's local wisdom and its role in sustainable agriculture systems. This research was conducted from May to December 2018. The data was collected through orientation, exploratory, and confirmative studies, thus analyzed in qualitative descriptive method by describing local wisdom and its role in sustainable agricultural system. The results showed that agriculture is a way of life for the community in Wangi-Wangi Island. The practice of agronomic local wisdom in cassava cultivation is ecologically, economically, socially and culturally appropriate. Local wisdom is practiced starting from the selection and determination of land, land clearing, planting, maintenance and harvesting. Local wisdom of the Wangi-Wangi Island community in a sustainable agricultural system has three roles: 1) ecologically by maintaining the preservation of land resources through conservation in the welli'a and rawu'a systems by integrating plant diversity, mulching, and fallowing; 2) economically by maintaining the sources of life such as food reserves and alternative sources of income through the collection of forest and marine products, and 3) socially by maintaining a socio-cultural system in harmonious relations between the Sara and the community and by maintaining the stability of production.

Abstract

The fisheries sector plays a vital role in developing and providing business and employment opportunities to support the community and regional economy. Kekar tilapia is one of the freshwater fish farming commodities in the fisheries business sector and relatively new tilapia variety with the advantages of a thick (stocky) and a more comprehensive body shape with a smaller head than others tilapia. This case study aimed to determine the income and feasibility of kekar tilapia farming in the South Konawe Regency, explicitly studying the UKM Empang Sari (Small and Medium Enterprise/SME of Empang Sari). Research variables included cost components (fixed and variable costs) and revenue components (production and selling price). The data were analyzed using income and business feasibility analyses. The study results reveal that tilapia fish farming in South Konawe Regency is profitable and feasible, with IDR 4.355.000 per production cycle or IDR 13.066.000 per year with an R/C ratio of 1.6. Hence, it is suggested that UKM Empang Sari increase the kekar tilapia cultivation.
