Abstract

The research about growing pattern, condition factor and habitat of Spotted Barb Barbodes binotatus (Valenciennes, 1842) was done from August until December 2017. The aims of this research are to know growing pattern, condition factor, sex ratio and habitat of Spotted Barb (Barbodes binotatus) in Berambai Forest River. Fishing was done in every month, using purposive sampling method with some fishing gears. The result of the research shows that growing pattern of Spotted Barb (B. binotatus) was positive allometric, the average value of the condition factor was 1,064. The sex ratio of male and female were 1 : 1,06. The Berambai River in good condition for living of Spotted barb.

Abstract

The dragonfly conservation needs to be protected by maintaining the existence of their living place which in a large number is waters. This research was conducted using survey method at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah and Ragunan Zoo, South Jakarta. The sampling was done using purposive sampling by selecting 3 habitat around the waters in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) and another 3 habitats around the water in Taman Margasatwa Ragunan (TMR). The line transec was made drawing a line a long 50 m in northern, 50 m in shouter, 50 m in western and 50 m in eastern of the waters or the lake which each wide was 1 meter to the left and 1 meter to the right. Based on the result of this research, the dragonfly diversity has two different families which are Libellulidae and Ghomphidae. Family of Libellulidae in this research area has five different species which are Orthetrum sabina, Pantala flavescens, Orthetrum testaceum, Neurothemis terminata, Brachythemis contaminate. Meanwhile, Family of Ghomphidae has one species which is Ictinogomphus decoratus. Indeks value of diversity in TMII shows that the dragonfly relatively high and TMR it’s relatively low. Indeks value of distribution in two location is about over 0,81 it means that the distribution of dragonfly species is relatively high

Abstract

Studi pengaruh Rasio Pupuk Organik Cair Limbah Ikan Nila (Oreochromis niloticus) dengan Pupuk Inorganik Komersial terhadap Pertumbuhan Sawi Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) secara Hidroponik Rakit Apung dilaksanakan pada bulan September 2018 sampai Januari 2019. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh rasio pemberian pupuk organik cair limbah ikan nila terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman sawi pakcoy secara hidroponik rakit apung, untuk mengetahui konsentrasi pupuk organik cair limbah ikan nila terbaik untuk pertumbuhan tanaman sawi pakcoy yang optimal pada. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan (100% AB mix, 25% POC dan 75% AB mix, 50% POC dan 50% AB mix, 75% POC dan 25% AB mix, 100% POC) dengan 4 ulangan. Pengamatan dilakukan selama 4 minggu. Parameter lingkungan yang diamati adalah suhu lingkungan (rumah hidroponik), suhu larutan, pH larutan dan TDS (Total Dissolved Solid). Parameter pertumbuhan yang diamati yaitu, tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, berat segar, berat kering, luas daun, kandungan klorofil, laju pertumbuhan relatif tanaman, dan volume akar. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan perlakuan dengan menggunakan 100% AB mix dan perlakuan 25% POC dan 75% AB mix merupakan perlakuan terbaik pada parameter tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, luas daun, berat segar, berat kering, volume akar, laju pertumbuhan relatif, dan kandungan klorofil. Pada penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa substitusi lebih dari 25% POC belum mampu memberikan pertumbuhan yang optimum seperti pupuk AB mix.

Abstract

Limbah laundry merupakan limbah yang mengandung senyawa yang sulit terdegradasi dan dapat mencemari lingkungan. Salah satu cara untuk mengurangi pencemaran lingkungan yaitu fitoremediasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh limbah laundry terhadap pertumbuhan melati air dan eceng padi serta untuk mengetahui kemampuan melati air dan eceng padi dalam menurunkan kadar deterjen. Pengambilan sampel limbah laundry di Jalan Pramuka, Samarinda. Uji pendahuluan dengan konsentrasi limbah laundry 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% dan 100% dengan melati air dan eceng padi sebanyak 200 gr, pengamatan selama 7 hari. Uji sesungguhnya dengan konsentrasi limbah laundry 25% dengan melati air dan eceng padi 0, 100, 200 dan 300 gr, diamati selama 14 hari. Pengukuran kadar deterjen, kualitas air serta pertumbuhan tanaman dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah pengamatan. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji One-way Anova dan Kruskal Wallis dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanaman melati air dan eceng padi dapat tumbuh dengan baik pada media limbah cair laundry. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan semakin meningkatnya jumlah daun, panjang akar, berat kering dan laju pertumbuhan relatif melati air dan eceng padi.Tumbuhan melati air lebih efisien menyerap limbah deterjen. Hal ini dilihat dari nilai removal efficiency tertinggi pada tanaman melati air yaitu 76,68% sedangkan eceng padi sebesar 67,61%

Abstract

Rubber (Hevea brassiliensis), are the commodities that have the potential to be developed. Rubber cultivation is currently only rely on rootstocks obtained from seeds in the nursery, so availability is limited by seasons and seed viability. Tissue culture techniques to address challenges to obtain seeds in large quantities in a short time. Tissue culture are often faced with the problem of contamination, so that the required ingredients for the success of the sterilizing effective planting rubber leaf explants in vitro. Variables observed among other things, the speed of contamination of explants, number of explants of living, the number of types of contaminants, the number of sources of contaminants as well as the number of explants browning and not because browning. Sterilization treatment in this study, namely P1 without sterilization in LAFC, P2 with 70% alcohol, P3 combination treatment NaOCl 20% and 70% alcohol, P4 uses a combination of HgCl2 a 0.01% and NaOCl 10% and P5 using 70% alcohol and H2O2 17.6 % (v/v). The results showed that the treatment P1 bacterial contamination of 60% and mushrooms 85%, P2 bacterial contamination by 90% and mushrooms 10%, P3 bacterial contamination 92.5% and mildew 17.5%, P4 bacterial contamination 72.5% and fungi 10% and the treatment P5 with 65% of bacterial contamination without contamination of mushrooms. Best results are obtained by using the P5 treatment Alcohol 70% for 1 minute and H2O2 17.6% (v / v) for 20 minutes can remove contaminants fungi and suppress bacterial contamination percentage of 65% to 30 days after planting.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh susu fermentasi Lactobacillus casei terhadap hematologi mencit yang diinfeksi Salmonella enterica serovar typhi (S. typhi). Tahapan penelitian ini yaitu pemeliharaan hewan uji, pembuatan media, perlakuan bakteri S. typhi pada mencit, pemeriksaan demam tifoid (uji widal), analisis hematologi mencit dan analisis data. Dalam penelitian ini, sekelompok mencit dibagi menjadi empat kelompok, yaitu K1 merupakan mencit kelompok kontrol negatif, K2 merupakan mencit kelompok kontrol positif, P1 mencit yang diberi perlakuan S. typhi inkubasi 6 jam (0,25 mL) dan susu fermentasi (0,25 mL) secara bersama-sama selama 7 hari dan P2 mencit diberi perlakuan S. typhi inkubasi 6 jam (0,25 mL) selama 7 hari dilanjutkan dengan pemberian susu fermentasi (0,25 mL) selama 5 hari. Hasil analisis uji statistik menyebutkan bahwa pemberian susu fermentasi pada mencit perlakuan P2, nilai hemoglobin (Hb) sebesar 4,20±0,20 dan hematokrit (Hct) sebesar 15,85±3,35, sedangkan pada P1 (mencit diinfeksi S. typhi dan pemberian susu fermentasi secara bersama-sama) tidak dipengaruhi, hal ini dikarenakan efek antagonis dari bakteri Lactobacillus terhadap bakteri Salmonella. Kesimpulan dari penelitan ini adalah bahwa mencit yang diberi perlakuan S. typhi dan susu fermentasi selama 7 hari tidak menunjukkan pengaruh terhadap hematologi mencit. Sedangkan pada mencit yang diberi perlakuan S. typhi selama 7 hari dilanjutkan dengan pemberian susu fermentasi selama 5 hari, berpengaruh terhadap hematologi mencit pada parameter Hb dan Hct.

Abstract

Flies can transmit about 64 types of pathogenic bacteria, in humans. Genus Musca, Chrysomya and Sarcophaga are genera of flies, where members of the species, many of which live around humans. Various researches that have been carried out by researchers found that a fly that carries a number of diseases, also carries antibiotics that neutralize these diseases. Therefore, flies are never attacked by the disease they carry. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of antimicrobial producing bacteria found in the digestive tract of green flies (C. megachepala) by molecular identification and to determine the antimicrobial activity produced against several test bacteria. This research is a descriptive experimental study with a pure experimental model to determine the species of antimicrobial producing bacteria in the digestive tract of C. megachepala. Digestive tract C. megachepala is isolated on NA (Nutrient Agar) medium. Identification of bacteria using the 16S rRNA gene. Pure isolates obtained are cultured on NB (Nutrient Broth) media. Test antimicrobial activity by diffusion method to use paper disk. One isolate obtained from isolation and molecular identification using the 16S rRNA gene showed that the isolate had a 90% similarity with Bifidobacterium minimum [NR 044692.2]. These isolates can inhibit Pseudomanas aeroginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Providencia stuartii. The biggest inhibition zone is against P. stuartii.

Abstract

The purposes of experiments were to determine how many were total waters of steam flow and through fall on S. laevis trees and how many were the highest nutrient contentes of Nitrogen (N), Phosphor (P), Potassium (K), Calcium (Ca), and Magnesium (Mg) in rain waters of and S. laevis trees. The method used experiment was quantitative analysis which was done measurement directly in the field, the data consistes of tree height, steam diameter, canopy diameter, measurement waters of steam flow and through fall, nutrient contentes (N, P, K, Ca, and Mg). The result of an average totally of the highest steam flow and through fall was 6.850,00 ml in method 2. Although an average of the lowest steam flow was 33,33 ml in method 3 and an average of the lowest through fall was 3.275,83 ml in method 1. An average of the highest nutrient content N was 695 ppm in steam flow the averages of the highest nutrient contentes P and K were P= 4 ppm and K= 8.619 ppm in through fall, an average of the highest nutrient content Ca was 3 ppm in through fall and an average of the highest nutrient content Mg in through fall was 2 ppm in through fall.

Abstract

The research was conducted in April-June 2017, located in the coastal waters of Muara Badak, Muara Badak District, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. This study aims to determine the strucure and community of fish in the coastal waters of Muara Badak and to know the types of fish that have economic value in the coastal waters of Muara Badak. Sampling was carried out using the Stratified Sampling method at 3 stations, which used step-by-step fishing gear. Identification of the types of fish obtained is done at the Laboratory of Animal Ecology and Systematics. Biology Department, FMIPA, Mulawarman University, Samarinda. The results showed that there were total fish catches obtained from the three carry net in the coastal waters of Muara Badak consisting of 28 species 19 families, 5 orders of a total of 407,566 individuals. The type of fish found based on the depth level of the coastline of Muara Badak at a depth of 7 meters found a fish community of 16 species from 4 Orders between l Clupeiformes, Perciformes, Syngnathiformes and Tetraodontiformes, at a depth of 8-10 meters to get as many as 23 species of fish The Order, while at a depth of <10 meters, 19 species of 3 Community Orders were most consumed by the people around the Muara Badak, namely Spratelloides gracilis as many as 340,166 individuals. Of the 2 fish species identified 20 species of economically valuable fish, namely: Alectis indicus, Alepes kleinii, Caesio caerulaurea, Caranx sexfasciatus, Chirocentrus dorab, Lutjanus erythropterus, Lutjanus lutjanus, Megalaspis cordyla, Rastrelliger kanagurta, Sardinella gibbosa, Scomberoides tol, Secutor insiator, Selaroides leptolepis, Siganus canaliculatus, Sphyraena obtusata, Spratelloides gracilis, terapon jarbua, Trichiurus lepturus, Ulua mentalis, Upeneus vittatus.

Abstract

Forest has been considered as one of natural resources that could brought benefits for Dayak community based on their ecological and economical values. Edible fruits are annual plant type that could grow fruits and can be consumed. This study was held to obtain data, what type of plant that is utilized by Dayak Tahol community in their daily lives and how they utilize the edible fruits from Malinau district. This study was conducted by using explorative survey method, which is divided into two steps: first, the edible fruits inventory which is familiar by local people; second, observation at the local community and this method is supported by approach and sampling technique. This result showed that the total known edible fruits plant was about fifty two genus obtained from twenty five families and 2.207 individual species in total, moreover Shanoon-Winner diversity index (H’= 3.49) can be grouped in high diversity (H’ > 3).
