Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the methods, the inhibiting factors  in the process of forming students'  Islamic character and the solutions used as a reference  in the formation of students'  Islamic character  in private junior high schools  in Binjai City. The method of this research s to use qualitative research methods  in order to reveal  in depth data and facts about the formation of the  Islamic character of students  in private junior high schools throughout the City of Binjai. Data collection techniques using  interviews, observation, and document review. Then the data were analyzed by data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results of this study are that the formation of the  Islamic character of students s taken from two schools,  inamely Al Kaffah Binjai  integrated  Islamic Middle School and Binjai PABA Middle School, each school has a method of forming students'  Islamic character. However,  in essence the methods used by each school are closely related to the formation of the  Islamic character of students. The methods used are giving advice, getting used to good morals, exemplary, Targhib and Tarhib, stories, and parables. in carrying out these methods,  inhibiting factors were also found  in the formation of  Islamic character of students.  inhibiting factors that occur due to the lack of religious education  in the family, unfavorable environment, lack of awareness of students to carry out conditions related to religion and rampant  information from social media. The solution to these  inhibiting factors s to prepare professional educators, create a good environment, complete  infrastructure, and create  intra-curricular and extra-curricular programs as supports  in the formation of  Islamic character of students at Al Kaffah Binjai  integrated  Islamic Middle School and Binjai PABA Middle School.

Abstract

The principal in elementary school as a leader in an educational institution organization in Indonesia has a very strategic role. The existence of educational institutions is one of the important points to advance the Indonesian nation so a school principal has a burden and responsibility that must be shouldered because the principal has a hand in every renewal of Indonesian education. The purpose of this study was to determine the leadership responsibilities of the principal of Elementary School 1 South Tangerang to education reform, especially in Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative approach method in collecting data through literature studies that use data sources from International and National Journals as well as several relevant research results. The results of this study show that there is a big role that can be done by school principals in responding to the renewal of Indonesian education, one of which is by preparing and improving facilities and infrastructure in educational institutions and providing modern learning tools in the spirit of learning in the 21st century. Thus, the principal has a major contribution to realizing 21st-century learning which is part of the renewal of Indonesian education, so without his leadership, it will be difficult to realize an enlightened Indonesian education.

Abstract

Humans grow and develop so can freely learn according to their wishes to change views to be broader, and learning mathematics is no exception. Learning mathematics is closely related to life, but reality is contrary to the situation on the ground. Mathematics learning based on open without any approach to life's problems. This research explore experiences related to life's problems through critical reflection within oneself, so moral dilemma story emerges and can change one's views regarding mathematics learning in elementary schools through the dilemma story pedagogy. Type of this research uses qualitative-transformative, understanding and experiences related to oneself and relationships with life's problems that can influence views on learning mathematics. The method used is auto |ethnography with several paradigms include interpretive, critical, and post-modern paradigms. The research instrument of the researcher themself as the main data source, literature studies and semi-structured interviews. Research subjects included researchers, class teachers, and fifth grade elementary school students. Data analysis in this research uses five ways knowing, starting from cultural self-knowing, relational knowing, critical knowing, visionary and ethical knowing, and then knowing in action. The results showed that analysis of cultural identity data of researchers and research subjects as students who had studied mathematics and experienced life's dilemmas influence the transformation of views to learning mathematics which was frightening become fun through the dilemma story pedagogy approach. Resulting in changes in the views of both researchers and participants including readers regarding the understanding of learning mathematics in elementary schools with the dilemma story pedagogy.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Pancasila class IV student profiles at SD Negeri Islamic Boarding Schools and the supporting and inhibiting factors for the implementation of Pancasila student profiles for class IV SD Negeri Pesantren. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a phenomenological research design. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study are as follows. Implementing the Pancasila Student Profile could be more optimal because of obstacles and problems. In the process of learning Pancasila education in class, teachers try to use various learning models in direct teaching that students can accept, involving students in emphasizing opportunities to consider values, reflection, and learning, which is usually the teacher and the curriculum. Second, the teacher's efforts to overcome obstacles and problems must try to approach students and make themselves role models for school members. Teachers can use the time to achieve the expected learning objectives, related to the limitations of learning media that can be replaced if students still have difficulty understanding the material, and create a comfortable and conducive classroom atmosphere by communicating and interacting with students.

Abstract

In science learning, scientific writing skills are an important aspect that can be an indicator of learning success and are of great benefit for students. In fact, scientific writing skills still need to be improved. So teaching materials are needed that can provide assistance to students to practice their scientific writing skills, one of them is student worksheet based on question prompt scaffolding. The purpose of this study is to describe the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of student worksheet based on the question prompt scaffolding. The type of research used is research and development. The research design used is the ADDIE model which consists of five phase, namely analysis, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. The location where this research was canducted is SMP Negeri 1 Jember. Validity reached a value of 97% which is included in the valid category. Practicality reached a value of 94% which is included in the practical category. Analysis of effectiveness using the N-gain test which obtained an overall average N-gain in laboratory reports 1 and 2 of 0,123 in the low category, and an overall average N-gain in laboratory reports 2 and 3 of 0,301 in the medium category. These results indicate a fairly good increase, from the low to medium category. The students’ response result received a rating of 82.67% in the very good category. Thus, it can be concluded that this student worksheet is valid, practical, and effective in improving students' scientific writing skills in science learning.

Abstract

Empowering school principals' leadership toward teachers is an indicator of behavior in improving the quality of education. This is the school principal's responsibility to foster and mobilize teaching human resources to improve the professionalism of their performance, including at SMPN 2 Piabung. This research aims to analyze the implementation of empowering school principals in developing professional teachers at SMPN 2 Piabung. The method in this study uses mixed methods research. Qualitative methods complement the use of quantitative methods. Data was collected through a questionnaire and participant observation. Statistical data analysis in the form of min, frequency, and mean for data presentation. Questionnaire data were analyzed using Software SPSS version 25.0, while qualitative data were analyzed by explanation. The results of the study show: (1) empowerment in the form of encouraging teachers to make effective use of school infrastructure, delegating tasks proportionally (task division), forming coordinators for academic development and extracurricular activities, and supervising the running of school programs and requesting reports on program implementation very high rating; (2) empowerment in the form of involving teachers in planning school programs, inviting teachers to develop knowledge, skills, and experience through training programs, carrying out responsibilities transparently and reporting every decision to get maximum results, and giving rewards (praise, encouragement, and feedback to the teacher) is at the moderate rating level.

Abstract

Moral values are part of character education which should be taught through various practical actions in the learning process that aim to make a better person because good morals will also produce a good personality. There will be no moral decline and juvenile delinquency or students. This study aims to determine the moral message of the main character in the Jihad Selfie comic and its implications for learning in high school. The research data were obtained from dialogues, monologues, and character images in the Jihad Selfie comic. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The data collection technique used in this study the observation, note-taking, and documentation techniques. The research analysis results are more dominant in the values of self-control and respect. This study concludes that the main character conveys a moral message of the importance of humans being able to control themselves when taking actions and always respecting parents in making decisions. This moral value has a positive value so that it can be used as teaching material in learning literature in high school.

Abstract

Learning should take place in a fun way, where one of them uses IT learning media. Of the many teacher tasks in carrying out learning, the teacher also has problems, namely in using IT learning media. The purpose of this study was to analyze the teacher's problems in using IT media in the learning of 4th grade elementary school students. This study uses qualitative research with a phenonological approach. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects in this study were school principals, teachers and fourth grade students. Data analysis techniques use source triangulation and method triangulation. The results of the study show that the problems are in class management, the minimum number of media in schools, media storage, lack of teacher knowledge and skills and teachers' hassles when teaching using IT media. To improve teacher professionalism, schools carry out workshops using sparkol videoscribe media and are given motivation so that teachers are even more enthusiastic about applying learning media.

Abstract

Various cases of violations of school rules show that one of the reasons is because students do not understand the contents of the rules. During this time students tend not to be involved in the formulation of the rules and only become the executor. This study aims to examine student involvement in enforcing school rules. This research was conducted using qualitative methods (field research) in a high school in Banyumas Regency, Central Java. Disciplining students at the school is a challenge in itself because most of the students come from the lower classes. The lower class is synonymous with harsh life demands that make it difficult to manage. Data was collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The research targets were determined purposively, namely school principals, counseling teachers, and students (OSIS chairmen and students who often violate the rules). The results of the study show that teachers carry out a series of disciplines by collaborating with school organizations such as OSIS, MPK, and other organizational activists in the process of formulating rules through joint forums, dissemination of rules offline and online, supervising students during departures and raids, and assessing student discipline individual or collective (class). Based on this, it can be concluded that the school has provided an open space for students to be involved in disciplinary mechanisms from the formulation to the implementation of school rules.

Abstract

One of the problems that has existed for a long time but has now become a very clear normalization is dating relationship. When woman no longer understand how valuable they are and lust become the controller between woman and man, the more corrupt the people of the end of this age will become. The religious sharia is increasignly foreign because there is no effort to explore and understand the wisdom behind the sharia command itself. Because woman are so glorified in Islam, they must understand very well the importance of maintaining purity and self honor. This research aims to explain the importence of cooperation between PAI teachers and parents in implementing iffah attitudes in guardianship children and importence of syncronizhing the cultivation of iffah attitudes at home and school. This type of qualitative research with descriptive methods and direct observation is complemented by various references sourched from theses, journals, and other collections of scientific works. The results showed that IT Junior High Schools was very possible to implement a boarding school system such as a separate learning building between male and female students to limit relationship and keep unwanted things from happening. As Islam teaches muslim to lower their gaze, not be easly influenced by the opposite sex and avoid adultery. To that end every child who intends to enter Ad Durrah IT Junior High School will be interviewed and various test will be carried out as well as parents will be interviewed to ensure that parents play a role in educating and developing their children,, especially female students in the application of Islamic values, especially the attitude of iffah. So that the values instilled at school and at home are in harmony. From the begining, the school has informed the student’s guardian about the agreement to work together in educating child is not an easly matter that can be done by the one party. For the reason, it is necessary to cooperate between the school and parents. Furthermore teacher, especially PAI teacher, who play a very important role in this case as people teaching Islamic religious lessons, the become role model for their student as an implementation of teaching of Islam itself. In his efforts to guide the stdents, the PAI teacher of SMP IT Ad Durrah tries to get closer to his student so that the student feel comfortable and nor awkward of even afraid of him. Then after a good relationship is created with the students, the advice, direction, guidance given by the PAI teacher will be happily carried out by the students.
