<![CDATA[This research is a qualitative descriptive study which was conducted to describe illocutionary speech acts in a speech title regarding the Covid-19 conspiracy theory. Collecting data in this study using the observation method with note-taking techniques. The data source of this research is a speech in a video talk show about the accusation of conspiracy behind Corona which is broadcast on the Kompastv Youtube channel. The data analysis of this study used an extratextual matching method with a pragmatic approach. The theory of various illocutionary speech acts used in this study is Searle's (1979) illocutionary speech act theory. The results showed that there were four types of illocutionary speech acts in the research sources, namely assertive, directive, commissive, and expressive speech.]]>

<![CDATA[This study examines the socio-cultural of the Gebangsewu hamlet community and their physical environment, based on an ethnographic qualitative approach. The results showed: First, the physical environment is classified as poor because it is not touched by government funded development projects. Second, after being tracked down, this condition is related with the power politics of the government of the new (orde baru) order era at that time. The people of Gebang Sewu, are partisans of the opposition party (PPP), while the government apparatus must be completely loyal to the Golkar party. Second, the social separation happened, is confirmed through negative myths about the government apparatus. It is used as "revenge" to ignore development. The findings give a message, first, that there is a social segregation between pro-government and opposition political parties. Third, uneven development due to discriminatory politics that was deliberately scripted by the New Order government.]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine a media in framing the news. This aspect is seen based on each news content of a media when choosing the title, background information and news source for each news quote. The focus of research is on reporting cases of women's discrimination onmedia onlineSura.com and Detik.com. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The results of this study indicate that themedia onlineSuara.com seems excessive in choosing diction in each news title regarding cases of women's discrimination. Meanwhile, themedia onlineDetik.com chose news titles that were simple and focused on the content of the news. The conclusion in this study is that each media has a different characteristic and ideology in framing the news.]]>

<![CDATA[ABSTRAKDiskriminasi terhadap laki-laki kulit hitam masih terjadi di negara seperti Amerika Serikat. Laki-laki kulit hitam ditampilkan sebagai orang yang kasar dan jahat. Namun, hal ini sebenarnya merupakan konstruksi dari supremasi kulit putih. Artikel ini membahas mengenai pemosisian laki-laki kulit hitam melalui wacana maskulinitas kulit putih dalam novel Sing, Unburied, Sing karya Jesmyn Ward. Untuk membongkar rasisme dan maskulinitas kulit hitam, digunakan konsep black masculinity dari Orelus dan positioning theory dari Harré & Van Langenhove. Hadirnya stereotip yang mengatakan laki-laki kulit hitam memiliki fisik kuat sehingga cocok melakukan pekerjaan kasar hanya dalih dari kulit putih agar mereka bisa dimanfaatkan untuk menjadi pekerja paksa untuk kepentingan kulit putih. Dalam novel Sing, Unburied, Sing terlihat bahwa keburukan yang melekat pada orang-orang kulit hitam justru terlihat pada laki-laki kulit putih. <![CDATA[Penelitian ini membahas mengenai strategi dominasi yang dilakukan oleh ras kulit putih terhadap ras kulit hitam dalam upaya untuk melanggengkan superioritas mereka melalui novel perbudukan berjudul Washington Black (2018) karya penulis Esi Edugyan. Bentuk-bentuk dari strategi dominasi tersebut dianalisis dengan menggunakan konsep habitus, ranah, dan modal di dalam praktik sosial yang dikemukakan oleh Pierre Bourdieu. Bourdieu menjelaskan bahwa di dalam dunia sosial, konsep habitus digunakan untuk menganalisis strategi dan mekanisme dominasi yang telah terbentuk ke dalam diri seorang individu. Habitus dapat dipahami sebagai suatu kebiasaan seperti cara bicara, cara berpakaian, maupun pembentukan pola pikir melalui proses pengamatan berdasarkan pola-pola yang terus berulang di dalam kehidupan masyarakat. Proses terjadinya strategi dominasi juga erat kaitannya dengan modal yang dimiliki serta pengaruh ranah di lingkungan sosial tertentu. Konsep modal digunakan sebagai cara untuk menguasai suatu masyarakat. Lalu, ranah dianggap sebagai arena pertarungan merupakan sebuah wadah antara individu satu dengan yang lainnya sebagai upaya untuk menciptakan ataupun mempertahankan dominasi mereka melalui berbagai strategi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok ras kulit putih menggunakan keseluruhan modal yang dimilikinya untuk melakukan strategi dominasi di dalam lingkungannya berdasarkan habitus yang ada dalam diri mereka. Selain itu, habitus yang terbentuk dari berbagai tindakan kekerasan yang dialami oleh ras kulit hitam dalam sistem perbudakan telah mempengaruhi pola pemikiran mereka terhadap kehidupan.Kata kunci: perbedaan ras, habitus, ranah, modal, dominasi simbolik.]]>

<![CDATA[This research is a library research with the object of the play script "Bagian-bagian Hormat (dan) Sampah" by Afrizal Malna. This play script contains environmental phenomena, pollution, consumerism and urbanization. This play script uses unconventional forms in the form of presentation. The script is divided into six parts by using an essay in the form of an essay that contains descriptions of the scene that will be demonstrated by the actors and various artistic aspects that appear in the show. The text will be studied with Ecocultural theory. Ecocultural Criticism is a theory used to examine the relationship between literature and the environment. Ecoculture takes the point of view of "the earth as the center" in the approach of literary studies. The results of this study indicate that the Indonesian economy which was built with various kinds of capital and massive foreign investment created industrialization and triggered consumerism. In addition, other problems arise such as pollution and urbanization. The play script "Bagian-bagian Hormat (dan) Sampah" portrays all these phenomena and presents them in the performance text. With an ecocultural study, it can be found a link between the social context that occurs and the text presented in "Bagian-bagian Hormat (dan) Sampah".]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to describe the forms of gender inequality of the main character. Gender differences are formed by many things that are socialized, taught, and then constructed in a custom. The gender gap that is formed in customs prevents women do not get injustice from men or appear in the characters of Mak Ipah and Bunga-Bunga short stories they are Intan Paramaditha's. The research method is a qualitative descriptive method with a feminist literary criticism approach: based on the results of data analysis, conclusions are as follows: The form of structure in the short stories of Mak Ipah and Bunga-Bunga by Intan Paramaditha has 8 storylines and 59 sequels of plot, the form of marginalization in the short stories of Mak Ipah dan Bunga-bunga by Intan Paramaditha is in the form of stereotypes (a placement of women with behavior formation and physical), violence that includes domestic violence (physical violence and non-physical violence), and harassment against women.]]>

<![CDATA[Mata Najwa Talkshow has become one of the most popular television programs, due to its popularity of the guests, also the significance of the information that can be dig through this program. The language usage in the conversation between host and guests becomes one of the interesting aspects to be researched. The words “mudik” and “pulang kampung” in the episode of “Jokowi Diuji Pandemi” have become a hot topic in the public. Either Jokowi or Najwa have their own intention (implicature) through what they were saying. This research utilizes pragmatic study that aims to describe the violation of cooperative principle and speech function that may cause implicature. This research utilizes the observation method with recording technique. The data analysis is conducted based on the pragmatic theory of Grice (1975) and Searle (1969). After research, it is found three forms flouting the cooperative principle and four of functions of speech in Mata Najwa Talkshow Episode “Jokowi Diuji Pandemi”.]]>

<![CDATA[Mother is a person full of love and affection. The image of a mother is also featured in popular literary works in the form of a novel with the title Moga Bunda Disayang Allah by Tere Liye. The figure of a loving mother is always associated with mothers who conceive, give birth and raise their children. However, mothers who are full of affection for their children can also be carried out by women who have not gone through the process of conceiving and giving birth. This shows that the role of women in society and culture has been shaped into a figure full of affection. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method to describe the mother figure in the novel. The results of the study found that there were three mother figures, Bunda, ibu-ibu gendut and ibu khayalan as loving mothers who were classified as biological and non-biological mothers whose roles in the family were shaped by society and culture. In conclusion, biological or non-biological mothers are still mothers who love and are always there for their children.]]>

<![CDATA[Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai pendidikan yang terdapat dalam kumpulan puisi Resep Membuat Jagad Raya karya Abinaya Ghina Jamela dengan pendekatan sastra anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif.Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah kumpulan puisi Resep Membuat Jagat Rayakarya Abinaya Ghina Jamela, yang diterbitkan oleh penerbit Kabarita, Padang pada tahun 2017. Data dalam penelitian ini adalah kata-kata atau kalimat yang terdapat dalam kumpulan puisi Resep Membuat Jagat Rayakarya Abinaya Ghina Jamela. Adapun langkah pengumpulan data dan proses penelitian dilaksanakan sebagai berikut: (1) membaca keseluruhan isi sumber data; (2) mengidentifikasi data; (3) mengkodifikasi data; (4) menganalisis data; (5) menyimpulkan hasil penelitian.
