Abstract

The assessment process is not far from using the instrument as a tool in measurement. Some schools have not been able to use instruments to measure the ability of students' knowledge dimensions, one of which is procedural knowledge. Many factors influence such as the lack of teacher motivation in assessing students' procedural knowledge and there is no procedural knowledge instrument. This study aims to produce a valid and reliable procedural knowledge instrument on Theme 6 grade IV Elementary School. This research is development research conducted in ten stages, according to Brog & Gall, namely: Researching and collecting information, reading literature, making observations, and preparing reports on development needs; Planning prototype components to be developed, defining, formulating goals, determining the sequence of activities; Develop initial products; Conduct expert team test; Revise the initial based on the results of product trials; Conduct main field trials; Revise the product based on the results of field trials; Conduct operational field trials; Carry out final revision of field test products, and Conduct dissemination and implementation. The subjects in this study were 5 material expert lecturers, 22 students in small groups, and 141 students in large groups. In this study, data collection was carried out by interviews, observation, documentation, questionnaires, validity tests, reliability tests, discriminatory tests, level tests. the difficulty, and distractor analysis. From the results of this study we found that the prototype of the procedural knowledge instrument development was carried out in four stages, the procedural knowledge instrument was declared valid with the criteria pbi > rtable 5%, the procedural knowledge instrument was declared to have reliability (0.934). Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the procedural knowledge instrument for fourth-grade elementary school students has met the valid and reliable criteria.

Abstract

This study aimed at investigating undergraduate students’ perception towards the use of Mendeley referencing system on students’ thesis writing and describe challenges faced by undergraduate students when using Mendeley on thesis writing. This study used mixed-method research design, particularly explanatory sequential mixed-method. 100 undergraduate students of English Language Education, Ganesha Univesity of Education involved in this study. The instruments used in this study are questionnaire and interview. Questionnaire consisted of 16 statements and interview consisted of 12 questions. The result of questionnaire showed very positive perception which means the students strongly agreed that Mendeley usage on students’ thesis writing is highly useful. Moreover, the interview result showed the challenges came up when the students connecting Mendeley to Ms. Word and the meta data of articles and books could not generated automatically. Thus, the students need to re-check and input the meta data manually.

Abstract

Senior High School (SMA) is a secondary education level that prioritizes the preparation of students to continue higher education with specialization. The realization of this specialization has been carried out from class X with three specialization programs, namely a specialization in Social Sciences (IPS), a specialization in Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA). Physics is one of the characteristics of the subject of the Mathematics and Natural Sciences specialization program which aims to make students have the ability to master concepts, principles of physics and develop thinking skills that are useful for solving problems in everyday life. This research was conducted in class XI MIPA at SMA YP IPPI having its address at Jalan Petojo Barat III / 2, Central Jakarta. The research will be carried out for 7 months, from January to July 2021. This research is a research and development study using the Alessi and Trollip model developed by Stephen M. Alessi and Stanley R. Trollip dan model waterfall by Sommerville Ian. The model consists of three stages of development, namely planning, design and development. The waterfall model is combined at the development stage. Combining the STEM approach and problem-based learning models with mobile learning can be one of the lessons that is suitable for generations. The results of these studies indicate that the development of cross platform mobile learning application with the STEM approach is effective in learning physics.
