Gentala Journal Basic Education is a periodical scientific journal published in Indonesian language published by the Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Primary School Teacher Education Study Program twice a year in June and December. Abstract

The background of this research is students' interest in learning and students' mathematical problem solving abilities are classified as low. This study aims to (1) describe students' interest in learning; (2) describe students' mathematical problem solving abilities and (3) describe students' mathematical problem solving abilities in terms of interest in learning. This research method is descriptive qualitative research. The results showed that, (1) students' interest in learning had an average of 72.78 high categories, (2) students' mathematical problem solving abilities had an average of 50.23 moderate categories, and (3) students' mathematical problem solving abilities. in terms of student learning interest, namely (a) students' mathematical problem solving abilities in terms of high learning interest are able to carry out all indicators according to Polya well and have an average of 62.70; (b) students' mathematical problem solving abilities in terms of interest in learning are being able to carry out understanding problems well, students simply plan problem solving and solve problems according to the plan and students are not good at re-checking their answers and have an average of 43.75; and (c) students' mathematical problem solving abilities in terms of low learning interest are able to carry out indicators of understanding problems quite well, planning solutions, solving problems according to plan and re-examining not well and has an average of 15.63

Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has a lot of diversity ranging from ethnic, cultural, and religious diversity. With so much diversity in Indonesia, tolerance has become a demand for everyone, including elementary school students, an attitude of tolerance that grows and develops in the family, community and school environment will avoid problems such as disputes and conflicts caused by existing diversity. An attitude of tolerance that grows and develops properly will produce harmony and harmony in the environment. This paper aims to describe the importance of developing tolerance attitudes of elementary school students to diversity in Indonesia through the role of parents, teachers and learning models in schools to develop tolerance attitudes of elementary school students to diversity in Indonesia. Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of curriculum management implementation and teacher performance on the Improvement of Segregation Education Quality Assurance in SLB BC Cempaka Putih. The research method used in this research is descriptive analysis method with survey, interview, and observation techniques. While the data analysis technique used to answer the hypothesis of this research is statistics with a path analysis model. The population as well as respondents in this study were all 52 teachers of SLB BC Cempaka Putih. Technical analysis of the data used to test the hypothesis is simple regression analysis with multiple regression, t test and F test. The results show that 1) there is an effect of curriculum management implementation on improving the quality assurance of segregation education in SLB BC Cempaka Putih by 44.32%, which means that the two variables go hand in hand, the more effective the implementation of curriculum management, the better the improvement in quality assurance. 2) there is an effect of teacher performance on increasing the quality assurance of segregation education in SLB BC Cempaka Putih by 43.80%, meaning that the more maximal the teacher's performance is, the higher the effect on improving education quality assurance. 3) there is an effect of curriculum management implementation and teacher performance on improving the quality assurance of segregated education in SLB BC Cempaka Putih by 45.23%, both curriculum management variables and teacher performance go hand in hand with education quality assurance, which means more effective curriculum management implementation and teacher performance the higher the increase in education quality assurance. The results of testing the main hypotheses in this study can be concluded that the implementation of curriculum management and teacher performance has a positive and significant impact on the Improvement of Segregation Education Quality Assurance in SLB BC Cempaka Putih.

Abstract

This research purpose is to determine, identify, and describe the 1) process of implementation of the Clean Friday program; 2) the implication of the Clean Friday program on caring character building for the environment at Madani Elementary School. The research uses a kualitative approach with a case study method. Subjects researched were students in grades IV and V. The research location was at Madani Elementary School in Cilegon, Banten. The data collection techniques in this study were participant observation, in-depth interviews, documentation studies, and questionnaires. In this research, it was found that 1) the process of implementing clean Fridays, namely routine cooperation activities, was carried out on Fridays at 13.00 WIB to clean the school environment with an estimated time of 15-30 minutes and accompanied by the teacher; 2) the implication of the Clean Friday program on student character building are seen from the questionnaire filled out by 49 respondents that 94% of students answered correctly and 6% of students answered incorrectly. Therefore, the Clean Friday program can be used as an alternative for the character building of care for the student's environment

Abstract

This study intends to explore more deeply according to the conditions that occur and describe the efforts of teachers in improving the reading skills of low-grade students during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research was conducted at SDN 19 Pangkalpinang. The time used in the study was carried out for 4 months, namely from September to December of the 2021/2022 school year. There are two research subjects, namely, one class II A teacher and also class II A students at SDN 19 Pangkalpinang which has a total of 37 students. The data techniques in this study were observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The results of the study are that teachers have their own efforts so that they have increased which researchers conclude as 6M efforts, as follows: 1). Categorize, 2). Video, 3). Motivating, 4). Teaching with the SAS Method, 5). Visiting, 6). Collaborating with parents, this makes a significant improvement to students' reading skills.

Abstract

This article aims to examine students' understanding of concepts in learning mathematics with the help of Folding Paper, the study in this article focuses on three factors, namely: Results of interviews with teachers of understanding mathematical concepts, results of observations of understanding mathematical concepts and the results of applying the RME learning model to fractional material. The method in this research uses descriptive qualitative. Sources of data consist of interviews with teachers, observations and tests. For data analysis techniques using quantitative and descriptive qualitative data analysis. From the results of interviews, observations and tests that students' understanding of mathematical concepts is still relatively low.

Abstract

This research is based on Pujiriyanto’s perspective (2019) regarding educational theory and learning implementation methods in accordance with the 21st century. The learning process must always be dynamic, which is always able to adapt learning models and activities to the various characteristics of the current students, whose mostly known as the millennial generation (z) today. Unfortunately, the majority of teachers in Indonesia only rely conducting their learning activities from thematic books provided by the government to implement the Curriculum 2013. This issue has risen as many education experts discussed the great difference of learning characteristics between the teachers and students in this era, and this could lead to problems in reaching the goal of Curriculum 2013. Having this concern, this research was needed to be conducted to analyze the learning activities in the Thematic Book II “Menyayangi Tumbuhan Dan Hewan” Grade III Elementary School. The research approach is a qualitative approach and it used qualitative content analysis method. The data of the research are the learning activities that are found in the teacher's and the student's books of the chosen thematic book based on the characteristics for 21st century learning. The results show that the thematic book can no longer meet the characteristics of generation (z) students, thus cannot be used as an effective learning resource that facilitates students to achieve learning goals in curriculum.

Abstract

Canva is an online application that is used in the creation of learning media. The purpose of this study is to develop Canva Video media on integrated thematic learning based on the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model in grade IV of a valid elementary school. The type of research carried out is Research ang Development (R&D) with a 4D development model, namely Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. This research was conducted in elementary schools by collecting data techniques using questionnaires from material experts, linguists, and media experts. The test subjects in this study were 32 grade IV students of SDN 19 Ambacang Anggang and SDN 11 Tanjung Alai. The results of the Canva Video Media development research developed obtained material validity test results of 91.6%, language validity test results of 87.5%, and media validity test results of 100%. Thus it can be concluded that Canva Video Media on integrated thematic learning in grade IV Elementary School has been validly used.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the teacher's strategies in improving interest in learning in the first grade of SD Negeri Cipadu 01 Jalan Mutiara, No. 71, Cipadu Village, Larangan District, South Tangerang City. This research method is qualitative approach, with a descriptive approach. Based on the results of research on improving interest in learning in the first grade of SD Negeri Cipadu 01 by inviting students to make observations and discuss. Provide time for students to ask questions and provide opportunities for other students to answer these questions. Teachers also use a variety of learning media and evaluate theoretically and practically.
