Abstract

The purpose of this study is twofold , first, to find out the authentic factor of learning difficulties in linear programming based on problem-based learning. Second, knowing the effectiveness of authentic assessment and problem-based learning in overcoming learning difficulties. The method in this research descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this study were 251st grade students of SMAN 1 Bae Kudus Regency. Analysis of learning difficulties is done by interviews and measurement techniques. The research instrument uses objective tests and essays. The results of this study first, found authentic factors of linear program learning difficulties experienced by students in completing competency test questions. Second, through the use of authentic assessment and problem-based learning, each student's understanding can be clearly identified, so that action can be taken to improve and improve the quality of learning . Through learning that emphasizes the ability of each individual student to be authentically known, the skills of each individual are able to be optimal in accordance with their interests and ways of solving each problem in mathematics learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the improvement of students' mathematical connection abilities through contextual mathematics learning. This research was conducted on the fourth semester students of mathematics education study programs at the Riau Islamic University. This research is a quasi experiment design research. Determination of the sample is determined by saturation sampling and selection of the experimental class and the control class using simple random sampling. The research instrument was a student's mathematical connection ability test and data analysis using the Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that the average N-gain of mathematical connection ability of students who received contextual learning was 0.30, in the medium category, while the average N-gain of mathematical connection ability of students who obtained conventional learning by 0.19 was in the category low. The conclusion of the research is to increase the mathematical connection ability of students who get contextual learning better than students who get conventional learning

Abstract

The purposive of this study are (1) the average mathematical communication abilities of students who have learned by applying the ethnomatemics-based Realistic Mathematics Education approach, (2) the mastery of learning mathematical communication abilities of students who are taught with the Mathematics-Based Realistic Mathematics approach. This type of research is quantitative with true experimental design research design using the form of Posttest Only Control. The sample uses a simple random sampling technique and is carried out in class V SD 5 Jepang as an experimental class and class V SD 1 Gulang as a control class. Data collection techniques are tests of students' mathematical communication abilities. Data analysis techniques in this study include normality test, homogeneity test, average difference test and learning completeness test. The results showed that (1) the average mathematical communication ability of the experimental class students was higher than the average mathematical communication ability of control class students with expository learning; (2) students' mathematical communication abilities with ethnomatemicsbased Realistic Mathematics Education approach achieve mastery learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the ability of mathematical understanding, learning activities and teaching skills of teachers through the Auditory Intellectualy Repetition model with assisted by the mathematical smart wheel media. This research is a classroom action research conducted in class IV SDN Sukobubuk 01 Margorejo District Pati Regency second semester 2019/2020 academic year. The research method uses classroom action research consisting of 2 cycles each cycle consisting of 4 stages namely planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The instruments used in this study were tests of mathematical understanding abilities, observation sheets of student learning activities and teacher teaching skills. Data will be analize test used in this research is quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The results showed, among others: (1) The ability of mathematical understanding through the Auditory Intellectualy Repetition Model assisted by the mathematical smart wheel media increased by 30.29 from the initial condition of 43.35 to 73.64 in the final condition; (2) Student learning activities through the Auditory Intellectualy Repetition Model assisted by mathematical smart wheel media have increased by 23.13 from the initial conditions of 53.12 to 76.25 in the final conditions; (3) Teachers' teaching skills in applying the Auditory Intellectualy Repetition Model assisted by the mathematical smart wheel media increased by 23.5 from the initial conditions of 52.5 to 76 in the final condition

Abstract

This research aims to describe the improvement (1) mathematics problem solving abilities, (2) improve student learning activity, and (3) teacher teaching skill in implementing inquiry learning model assisted by segita puzzle under material perimeter and area of square, rectangle, and triangle. The methods of collecting data were test, observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis of the research was quantitative and qualitative analysis. The findings showed improvement of the problem solving abilities average. In cycle I, it was 68, with percentage 71%, categorized well. It improved into 85 in cycle II with percentage 86%, categorized well. Student learning activity average in cycle I it was 80 with predicate sufficient. It improved into 88 with predicate well in cycle II. Teacher teaching skill in cycle I was 95, or 74%, categorized sufficient. In cycle II, it improved into 117.65, or 87%, categorized well. It is concluded that the implementation of inquiry model assisted by segita puzzle could improve mathematics problem solving abilities, student learning activity, and teacher teaching skill.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the teacher's Pedagogical Content Knowledge in learning of patterns. This research uses Pedagogical Content Knowledge approach with interviews with teachers and tests on class XI students in 6 (six) SMK in Salatiga. The results showed that SMK teachers had pedagogical competencies characterized by curriculum knowledge but were still lacking in knowledge about students and teaching. They have knowledge about valuation and enough knowledge about resources. Whereas in professional competence all teachers have knowledge of content and objectives but do not meet PP No. 74 of 2008 which states that professional competence is obtained through professional education. Only 1 respondent fulfilled while 5 respondents did not meet because they were not graduates of mathematics education. Thus, of the 6 respondents who were the subjects of the study, all of them did not fulfill their pedagogical competencies as teachers and only 1 respondent had met their professional competencies.

Abstract

The purpose of this study are (1) to analyze the improvement of problem solving abilities of fifth grade students before and applied contextual learning models based on local excellence, and (2) analyze the improvement of problem solving skills of fifth grade students before and apply the model to which contextual teaching based learning is applied local excellence. This research is a quantitative research with quasi-experimental design in the form of one group pretest posttest. Analysis of the data used in this study used the n-gain test. The n-gain trial which is used to study the improvement of problem solving abilities and skills in fifth grade students. Based on the results of the research that has been obtained, the results are (1) Contextual Learning based on local excellence, and (2) is a model of improving learning based on Class V problems before using the Contextual Learning model and using the Contextual Learning model based on local excellence.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the mathematical communication ability of students in terms of gender. This type of research is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach. This research was conducted at Soe Middle School 3 2018/2019 school year. The source of data in this study were 20 VIII 10 students, consisting of 10 men and 10 women. Sampling using simple random sampling technique. The data collection technique used is a test of mathematical communication skills. The research procedure goes through several stages, namely: 1) preparation of mathematics communication skills test questions, 2) validating test questions and results analysis, 3) providing tests and collecting test results, 4) analyzing test results, 5) drawing conclusions. From the results, the communication skills of female students on all indicators have a higher value than male students. Female students are more thorough, careful and patient in solving mathematical problems so they are able to communicate mathematical ideas with pictures, diagrams or symbols and have a better mathematical representation than male students of the study. It can be concluded that the mathematical communication ability of female students is higher than the mathematical communication ability of male students that is equal to 58.71% or a difference of 17.42%

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of students' perceptions of the concept of set material in seventh grade students of junior high school. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were two seventh grade students of one junior high school in Kupang City with a high level of ability. Data collection is done by providing problem solving tasks (TPM), interviews and triangulation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. In the first indicator, absorption, the results of the study show that the JW and VO subjects can mention information that is known in the TPM problem and mention what is asked in the matter of the TPM. In the second indicator, understanding or understanding, JW and VO subjects can understand how to solve TPM problems and mention the knowledge used to solve TPM problems. In the third indicator, evaluation or assessment, JW and VO subjects can solve problems and are able to explain the steps in solving TPM problems. Thus it can be concluded that both of subjects are able to fulfill all three indicators of perception

Abstract

This study aims: to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes in three dimensions subject through the application of synectic learning models using GeoGebra learning media. This research is a classroom action research. Which consists of two cycles. The subjects are class XII_IPA students, odd semester 2019/2020 SMA Negeri 1 Kediri. In cycle 1 it is discussed about the distance of two points, the distance of points to a line and the distance of two lines, and in cycle two it is discussed about the distance of points to fields, distance of lines to fields and distance of two fields. The results of the study in cycle 1, obtained an average value of 78,75, completeness 81,25%. As for cycle 2, the average value of 75 completeness is 75%. It can be seen from cycle 1 to cycle 2 that the result is down due to the very complex cycle 2 material, the difficulty level is indeed different. The student response was very positive, student activity increased. Although classical completeness has not been achieved, the results for researchers are very satisfying. Because the mistakes made by some students are not due to the ability to understand, but the lack of accuracy due to nervousness. The application of the synectic learning model by using GeoGebra learning media on the three dimensional material concluded can improve student learning outcomes, and students respond well.
