Abstract

Ultisols is a soil order with low available P. Phosphate Solubilizing Microbes is a group of microorganisms that has the ability to release P for plants. The aim of this experiment was to determine effect of phosphate solubilizing microbes and P fertilizer on soil aggregate stability, PSF population and yield of maize (Zea mays L.) on Ultisols. This research was conducted from May 2016 to August 2016 at Ciparanje, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Padjadjaran. This research was arranged in Randomized Block Design (RBD), consisted of 9 treatments with 3 replications. The treatments were 100 kg ha-1 of SP-36 fertilizer, 50 kg ha-1 of biofertilizer, as well as combination of SP-36 fertilizer (50% and 100%) with the dose of biofertilizer (50%, 100% and 150%). This experiment showed that the combination of biofertilizer and P fertilizer gave significant effect on the population of PSF and yield of maize, but not for stability of soil aggregates. The application of SP-36 50 kg ha-1 and 50 kg ha-1 PSM combination gave higher population of PSF and yield of maize. Keywords:  Biofertilizer, maize, phosphate- solubizing fungi, aggregate stability, Ultisols

Abstract

Soil is a very complex and dynamic system, consisting of the solid, liquid and gas. The solid parts of soil is made from minerals and organic materials (rough and smooth). Organic materials with smooth from is called humic acid. This product is a result from oxidation polimeritation of compounds like phenol, lignin and proteins from plants also from the  metabolism of microorganism in the ground. In general, the composition of organic matter is dominated by humin with large, medium and lower of molecular weight. Humic acid has the composition of elements like carbon (4080%), nitrogen (2-4%), sulfur (1-2%), phospor       (0-0,3%) and also oxygen. Humic acid has unique characteristics compared with fulvic acid and humin. One of the most spesific character is the bonding to interact with metal ions, oxide, hydroxide, minerals, organic, and toxic materials.  Key words: Adsorbtion, Characterization, Heavy metals, Humic Acid

Abstract

ABSTRACT Textile industry waste decreased environment quality, including agricultural soils. This condition caused the degradationof rice field irrigated with contaminated waste water. Rice fields in Rancaekek contaminated with heavy metals such as Pb. The presence of heavy metals in soil can be transported to plant tissues, especially when heavy metals are present in soluble form. The aim of the research was to study the effect of various UZAAKH fertilizer dosage on pH, total-N, and availability of Pb in paddy field contaminated with textile waste. The experiment was conducted in the greenhouse of Agriculture Faculty, Universitas Padjadjaran from December 2017 to March 2018. The experiment was arranged in Randomized Block Design (RBD), consisted of six treatments with five replicates: 150 ; 200 ; 250 ; 300 ; 350 kg ha-1 UZAAKH and 250 kg ha-1 Urea. Data were analyzed with analysis of variance (ANOVA) followed by Tukey’s test at 95% confidence level. The result showed significant effect towards pH and availability of Pb in soil, but negligible differences in Ntotal. Keywords : contaminant soils, heavy metal, textile waste, UZAAKH fertilizer

Abstract

Hydroponic system is an alternative agricultural cultivation technology that able to answer the problem of narrowing farmland, decline in soil fertility, and the need of healthy foods. Production of tomato with this system has its own market segment, but it needs a specific treatment, such as preparation of planting medium, usage of fertilizer and addition of nutrient, etc. This experiment aims to determine the effect of biofertilizer consortium dosage and nutrient dosage, as well as their interaction to the population of phosphate solubilizing bacteria and tomato yield. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse of Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Padjadjaran, Jatinangor, in June to October 2015. Design of experiment was arranged in factorial randomized block design consisting of two factors. The first factor was biofertilizer consortium dosage (0 mL/polybag, 5 mL/polybag, and 10 mL/polybag), and the second factor was nutrient dosage (0 mL, 250 mL, and 500 mL). The result showed that there was no interaction between biofertilizer consortium dosage and nutrient dosage to the population of phosphate solubilizing bacteria and tomato yield.ywords: biofertilizer consortium, hydroponic, phosphate solubilizing bacteria, tomato

Abstract

Mineral content of the soil determines various properties including nutrient that can bereleased during the weathering process. The research to identify the minerals in Andisol developedfrom the eruption of Mt. Tangkuban Parahu and Mt. Patuha had been conducted to determine theminerals content in the sand fraction. This research was conducted in several steps: the field survey, soil sampling, and laboratory analysis. The field locations were in the forest of Cikole, Lembang,West Java derived from the eruption Mt. Tangkuban Parahu and in the forest of Patengan,Rancabali, West Java derived from the eruption of Mt. Patuha. Sand fraction was separated from siltand clay by wet sieving method, using the 50 micron siever. Microscopic observation for identifyingthe minerals was done with polarization microscope to the color, luster, shape of grains and crystals, cleavage, hardness, transparency, translucent, and magnetic properties. The results showed that thesand fraction of Andisol derived from Mt. Tangkuban Parahu and Mt. Patuha had the mineralcontent as hypersthene, diopside, orthoclase, oligoclase, anorthite, andesine, hornblende, biotite, quartz, corundum, magnetite dan sulphur, showed that the weathering those minerals cancontribute some nutrients like Mg, Ca, K Fe, and S to the soilKey words: hyperstene, diopside, anorthite, hornblende, biotite
