Abstract

This study aims to look at the implementation of virtual box application learning media reviewed from assure model consisting of six stages in class X TKJ SMKN 1 Painan. This research is an evaluation research. Which uses quantitative research methods to examine certain populations or samples, the data collected in this study is primary data taken directly through questionnaires, where the data are taken through assure stages by questionnaire method. The results of quantitative analysis can be concluded that the evaluation of the use of virtual box application learning media in basic network computer subjects is in a high category of 82.76% meaning that effective learning media is applied in basic network computer learning after reviewing the six stages of the assure model and judging from the results in the stalling of the six stages, which is 82.76% that fall into the high category. This research is feasible and reasonable because it does not contradict the theory.

Abstract

Examples of survey design are subjects that are usually taught to students pursuing minors or statistical majors at the end of their undergraduate degree. This article describes evaluation initiatives that encourage active learning and help develop important skill sets for statistical practice. The project is completed in pairs and submitted in two parts. This allows input from the first section to be forwarded to the second section. Ideally, students should have experience taking samples from the actual population. But the time it takes to receive approval from the university's ethics committee may not be appropriate for a short course. The alternative is to use an online virtual population such as Island software, which provides students with experience in setting up sampling systems, getting approval from potential participants, and collecting data. Written communication skills and teamwork are highly valued by statistical graduate employers. The project promotes collective learning in sample survey design, statistical analysis of the data obtained, and preparation of final written reports. It can be easily adapted for first year students and can also be expanded to accommodate students at Master or Honors level.

Abstract

Fear of Failure is a problem that is being experienced by students. Educators and researchers pay great attention to the phenomenon of Fear of Failure among students. This study aimed to determine the relationship between Perfectionism, Shame, Social Support to Fear of Failure in high school students. This research is a type of quantitative correlational research. In this study, data collection tools are using the Perfectionism scale, the Shame scale, the Social Support scale, and the Fear of Failure scale. Subjects taken in this study amounted to 80 of the total population of 414 students. Techniques in taking the subject are using population research and quota sampling. The method used in this research is a quantitative method with multiple analysis techniques. The results showed that the value of F count = 15.743 with a significance of 0.000 <0.05, these results indicate that there is a relationship between Perfectionism, Shame, Social Support, and Fear of Failure in high school students

Abstract

Metacognitive reading strategies and motivational reading play an important role in improving reading comprehension. In an effort to prove the above claims in a context where there is no strong reading culture, this study tries to find out if there is indeed a link between and between metacognitive reading strategies, motivational reading, and performance reading comprehension. Before finding a relationship, the study tried to ascertain the level of awareness and use of respondents' metacognitive reading strategies when they read English academic texts, their motivational levels and reading interests, and their overall reading performance. Using descriptive and correlational descriptive survey methods with 60 randomly selected Saudi college-level EFL learners at an all-male, all-male industrial college at INKAFA Gresik. The study found that respondents simply used different metacognitive reading strategies when reading academic texts. Of the three categories of metacognitive reading strategies, Problem Solving Strategies (PROB) are the most commonly used. It was also revealed that respondents had high reading motivation. They prefer to read humor/comics. At the level of reading comprehension performance, respondents' performance was below average. Using the t-test, the study revealed that there is no correlation between metacognitive reading strategies and reading comprehension. There is also no correlation between interest/motivational reading and comprehension of reading. However, there is a positive correlation between reading strategies and motivational reading. The study's findings are interestingly at odds with previous findings from most studies, thus inviting a more thorough investigation along the same line of inquiry.

Abstract

This research was done due to the lack of students' reading ability in descriptive text in MTsS Yati Kamang. This research was classified as a quasi-experimental research. To experiment class the researcher choose VII.II class and VII.I is experiment class. The researcher uses test to measure students’ reading ability. Afterwards, the researcher proved that the Comic strip as a media was able to increase students' reading ability in descriptive text. Experiment class and control class there are 38 students. There were 19 students as the respondents in experimental group and 19 students as the respondents in control group. The experimental class was taught by using Comic strips as media in teaching and the control group was taught only by using Picture. The result of paired sample t-test showed that the tobtained (6,591) was higher than ttable(2,326) with the level significant 0,01. The null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted. It means there is a significant effect of using Comic strips toward students’ reading ability in descriptive text at the seventh grade of MTsS Yati Kamang.
