Abstract

Project-Based Learning (PjBL) is a student-centered instructional model that utilizes real projects or activities as the core of learning. This model aims to develop students' critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills by involving them in authentic and meaningful tasks. This research explores how PjBL is implemented in history education using the Merdeka Curriculum at SMA Labschool Jakarta, one of the pioneering schools in Indonesia that adopts this curriculum. The Merdeka Curriculum is a new curriculum concept that allows teachers and students to choose and develop the learning content according to local needs and conditions. This study employs a qualitative approach with data collection methods such as observation, interviews, and document analysis. Data are analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The research findings reveal that PjBL in history education using the Merdeka Curriculum involves four main stages: determining essential questions, designing project plans, conducting project activities, and presenting project products. Challenges faced by both teachers and students include time management, resource availability, group dynamics, and assessment issues. This research suggests that PjBL can be an effective and engaging way to teach history using the Merdeka Curriculum if supported by adequate preparation, guidance, feedback, and evaluation.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of implementing the Phonetic Method with Video Media on improving Maharah Kalam. It explores how this method influences the development of Maharah Kalam a'dho, with a focus on the differences between using video media and conventional teaching materials. Qualitative research methods, including observation, interviews, and documentation, were employed, utilizing a case study approach at the Arab Markaz PP Bustanul Ulum Mlokorejo-Puger-Jember. The findings indicate varying stages in the application of the phonetic method, influenced by the choice of media, concepts, and teaching materials. While some classes employ video media, others rely on conventional methods, affecting the strategies employed by instructors. Notably, the study reveals that the use of video media with materials from native speakers may present challenges in enhancing Maharah Kalam due to a perceived decrease in intensity. It's important to note that this research exclusively focuses on a'dho' banat and does not cover a'dho' banin, emphasizing the impact of the phonetic method with or without video media on the development of Maharah Kalam a'dho'.

This study aims to investigate the implementation of classroom management in enhancing the effectiveness of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) instruction at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Makassar. It seeks to identify the facilitating and inhibiting factors of classroom management in improving PAI instruction at the aforementioned institution, as well as the approaches employed by teachers to enhance the effectiveness of PAI instruction. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing data collection methods such as observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is conducted through descriptive analytics, involving the description and analysis of all field data to draw conclusions. The findings indicate that classroom management in enhancing the effectiveness of PAI instruction is effective but not yet optimal. Factors influencing the effectiveness of PAI instruction predominantly stem from the students themselves, the teachers, and the school's resources and facilities. Teachers employ various approaches, including power and threat, to enhance the effectiveness of PAI instruction, although not all aspects of classroom management can be fully implemented by teachers.

Abstract

this study aims to determine the use of the Rumah Budaya Museum in Banda Naira as a source of learning about history. The research method used is qualitative, with a case study approach. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included history teachers, students, and Rumah Budaya Museum managers. The results of the study show that: (1) the role of the history teacher in utilizing the Rumah Budaya Museum as a source of history learning is to plan, implement, and evaluate history lessons by referring to competency standards and essential competencies that are appropriate to regional history material; (2) students' learning motivation when visiting the Rumah Budaya Museum is high because they can directly see, touch, and study historical objects in the museum; (3) the obstacles faced by history teachers and students in utilizing the Rumah Budaya Museum as a source of history learning are time, cost, and licensing limitations. This study provides suggestions so related parties can work together to overcome these obstacles and develop a history-learning design that utilizes the Rumah Budaya Museum as a source of history learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the implementation of portfolio assessment in history learning at SMAN 1 Mawasangka Tengah and SMA Negeri 2 Mawasangka Tengah, Southeast Sulawesi Province. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The research subjects were history teachers and class XI Social Sciences students at both schools. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using data reduction techniques, data presentation, and conclusions. The study results show that the implementation of portfolio assessment in history learning in both schools is still not optimal. That is caused by several factors, including the teacher's lack of understanding of the concepts and procedures for portfolio assessment, the lack of teacher skills in preparing portfolio assessment instruments, the lack of supporting facilities and infrastructure, and the lack of motivation and participation of students in making portfolios. This study recommends that teachers improve their professional competence in carrying out portfolio assessments, develop portfolio assessment instruments following graduate competency standards, provide adequate facilities and infrastructure, and provide effective guidance and feedback to students in making portfolios.

Abstract

Decision-making plays a crucial role in the realm of management, serving as a central element of managerial activities. Effective decision-making requires active participation from managers, influencing the outcomes of the choices they make. In the context of Pesantren, an educational and religious institution, the organizational structure development is intrinsically linked to educational and social dimensions. Kyai, often regarded as the central figure due to their charisma, fulfills a multifaceted role within Pesantren as not only a spiritual leader but also as the highest-ranking manager. Kyai's involvement permeates every facet of Pesantren's decision-making processes, as they continuously grapple with decisions in their daily responsibilities. Consequently, Pesantren leaders must strive to enhance their decision-making capabilities. This development is contingent on leaders' comprehensive understanding of their working environment's data, proficient utilization of this information, and the incorporation of new, pertinent data pertaining to the challenges they encounter. The examination of Pesantren decision-making processes seeks to uncover their uniqueness, characterized by effectiveness and the ability to propel the institution forward. The resulting policies are embraced by the Pesantren community and serve as references for other institutions. This analysis also evaluates the reliability of Pesantren decision-making in comparison to contemporary decision-making theories. These endeavors collectively contribute to the institution's ongoing development and progress
