Abstract

Cows really need quality food, of course, a lot of quality cow feed is obtained from the process of fermentation. For the implementation of cattle feed through the process of fermentation can not be separated from the stirring process or mixing the basic ingredients of feed added with other added ingredients. The purpose of the design: Planning the engine speed and driving power, planning the main components of the machine used, and finally making the draft work plan. The results of the conclusions from the discussion are: Engine rotation 290 (rpm), material density 481 kg / m3 with a capacity of 63 kg. Driving power 1.5 hp, 1450 rpm rotation, voltage = 220 V, frequency 50 Hz, 1 phase. Shaft material S 35 C, with a size of 25 mm. S 30 C peg material, peg size: 18.75 mm long, 8.75 mm wide. Abstract

Braking failure better known as brake failure is caused by many factors, but one factor is due to excess heat that occurs in optimal braking conditions when the vehicle is driving at high speed and sufficient distance. The purpose of this research is to obtain the result of thermal stress simulation during braking, in special area of brake shoe with 8 mm thickness. However, it is unlikely that brake shoe is analyzed manually because brake shoes have many vertices, even up to thousands of vertices. So we need the software support finite element finishing method of MSC. NASTRAN V9 to simulate the distribution of temperature distribution on brake shoe for easy analysis. Thermal stresses that occur in the brake shoe with a thickness of 5 mm in this study that the model brake shoe model 2 has a maximum thermal voltage of 5.7326 Mpa and 0.2329 Mpa Minimum lower than the brake shoes model 1 thermal 5.8155 Mpa maximum voltage and 1.1629 Mpa Minimum. With a maximum test difference of 1.42% and a minimum of 79.97%.

Abstract

Natural gas was formed millions of years ago through the process of decomposition of plants and animals. This natural gas is composed mostly by methane and a number of other gases in small quantities such as ethane, propane, butane. We know that the heating value of oil and gas such as CNG is very different, where the heating value of CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) is higher than oil (premium). This will have an impact that if an accident occurs due to human error or a fault the tool will cause an explosion, so it is important to know the flammability limit of CNG mixtures with air. In this study a mixture of hydrogen gas fuel and oxygen gas oxidizer was used as fuel in the driver for initial initiation, while CNG fuel was used with driven air oxidizer. The fuel mixture was tested on a circle section horizontal flammability test pipe with a total length of 6000 mm (1000 mm in the driver section and 5000 mm in the driven section), a 50 mm diameter inside the room temperature and a pressure of 100 kPa driver. At driven the pressure is still 100 kPa and the CNG concentration changes with variations of 0 kPa to 40 kPa CNG with air and a total pressure mixture of 100 kPa. From the results of the study it was found that the flammability limit of CNG between 5 kPa at the lower flammability limit and 15 kPa at the upper flammability limit, detonation did not occur on the width of the flammability limit. In the range between 1-4 kPa and 16-40 kPa CNG there is no combustion reaction, and in the range 5-15 deflagration occurs.

Abstract

The corn seed counting machine is a machine used to process corn kernels into fine corn. The working principle of the corn seed chopping machine is driven by an electro motor which is connected through a pulley strap to the engine drive shaft. The process of counting fine corn, corn seeds is collected in a container. Turn on the engine a few moments before the test is done, then the corn kernels are poured into the machine shelter. In testing the productivity performance of the corn seed chopping machine using a rotary knife model. For the engine analyzed initially a capacity of 60 kg / hour. After the results of testing the engine productivity, which is obtained at the first test 121.06 kg / hour and the second test 115.05 kg / hour obtained from the total capacity. While the power required in the first experiment was 7.83 watts and the second experiment was 7.33 watts obtained from the load loss which was reduced by electro motor losses

Abstract

This time and in the future we must utilize renewable energy sources. The energy we use today is still dominated by fossil fuels which will gradually run out. One of the environmentally friendly renewable energy sources that we can use is wind energy. Wind turbines can be used to produce electrical energy, so that it can overcome one of the energy problems for people in need. Wind turbines that are suitable for low wind speed and medium wind speed are Savonius turbine types. For the development of the research a wind turbine prototype was made. This test was carried out on the prototype type U-type savonius wind turbine and the aluminum-based blade. The rotor has a diameter of 350 mm and a height of 440 mm. The study parameters measured are wind speed, rotor rotation speed, voltage and current of the generator. The performance of the U-type savonius wind turbine in this test is at wind speeds of 4 m/s to wind speeds of 6 m / s. At 6 m / s wind speed the maximum rotation of the turbine shaft is 33.80 rpm, wind power is 18.65 watts and produces electric power of 5.24 watts.

Abstract

The process of making cracker material slicing machines has the main components that want to be worked on starting from making a shaft, blade plate, inlet, outlet, engine frame, blade shield, pendulum, connecting rod, conveyor rail, and pressure rod. First stage carried out in the manufacturing process, namely identifying machine components, then making the process of making machines with several stages, namely the process of procurement of materials, measurement process, cutting process, turning process, drilling process, welding process, grinding process and workpiece assembly process. The machines used in the process of making these machine parts are cutting grinding machines, lathes, drilling machines / drilling machines, welding machines, and hand grinding machines. The number of components worked is 10 pieces, and the total number of components of the cracker slicer is 23 fruit. The time of making this machine takes 15.7 hours

Abstract

This work is focused on the effect of silica(silicon dioxide)on mechanical properties of modified epoxy resin. Eposchon A&B resin were utilised as a matrix to bind silica particles which were extracted from rice husk usingpyrolysis method. Eposchon A and Eposchon B were mixed with ratio 1:1. Silica with0, 2, 4 and 5% content by weight was introduced into Eposchon resin system. This composite mixtures were poured into silicon rhodorsil RTV mould to provide bending and fracture toughness coupon tests. The results revealed that bending strength of modified epoxy resin was improved by 14% for the maximum with 4% of silica content. On the other hand, fracture toughness were decreased as silica particles introduce into the epoxy system. Furthermore, fracture toughness enhanced as the content of silica higher up to 5%. It is concluded that silica from rice husk is potentials filler for polymer composite materials
