Abstract

The problem that occurred in Serangan Village, precisely in Bugis Village, was the decline in family economic income caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic and this was a challenge for researchers to overcome the low family economic income and increase the entrepreneurial spirit of housewives in the area. Seeing from the potential of the surrounding environment that is dominant in marine products, therefore researchers have a program in the form of empowering housewives in processing and marketing a processed product in the form of fish skin crackers by utilizing digital marketing in situations like this. With this empowerment, it is hoped that it will be able to encourage housewives to help the family economy. The purpose of this empowerment is so that later researchers can provide new ideas about processing fish skin crackers and in marketing them. Where the target to be achieved is that housewives can help the family's economic resilience during the current pandemic. The results and outputs obtained by the researchers are that housewives are able to make innovations in terms of taste as well as packaging and marketing of fish skin crackers.

Abstract

Sukamaju Hamlet, Sukawangi Village, Pamulihan District, Sumedang Regency, is one of the hamlet that still need guidance. Most of the residents are farmers and breeders. The livestocks mostly are sheep, dairy cattle and beef cattle. The hamlet comunity formed a farmer group, called Tunas Muda. This farmer group has various interrelated problems. Economic problems is the lack of capital. Meanwhile, the problem with infrastructure is that there is no processing machine, and no common location. The problem with management is that they do not have a good organization yet. Meanwhile, problems in marketing are the absence of featured products, and the bargaining power of farmers is very low. Through this community service program, in accordance with the fields of expertise and available resources, a chopper machine has been introduced to the Farmer Group to break the chain of problems. The direct result of this introduction is a decrease of fresh forage feed need by 35%. Meanwhile, another result of this program is the strengthening of management in the form of reorganization to strengthen the management, the preparation of a new division of tasks, as well as the construction of a common cage with a capacity of 20 sheep. With the existence of this common cage, it is hoped that it will improve organizational functions, as well as management efficiency and effectiveness. For the sustainability of this program, continuous evaluation and assistance is needed. The strengthening of organizational and financial management has been able to improve marketing. If last year's qurban season, the farmers group could sell 9 heads, this year's qurbani season could sell 15.

Abstract

The purpose of this agenda is to increase teacher professionalism in implementing learning through 2013 curriculum training at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Miftahul Huda 2 Palangka Raya. The service method used is lecture, question and answer, discussion, practice and mentoring. The results of the activity show that the increasing ability and insight of the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Miftahul Huda 2 Palangka Raya teachers is related to the implementation of the 2013 curriculum and increases the knowledge and skills of the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Miftahul Huda 2 Palangka Raya teachers on how to implement learning in the 2013 curriculum both in terms of planning, implementation and evaluation.

Abstract

The community service program aims to increase religion school kindergarten teachers’ understanding and skills regarding HOTS-based teaching application. The applied method for implementing the program activities comprises counseling, mentoring, practice and evaluation. The results of the implementation of the innovative program with series of activity stages has resulted kindergarten teachers’ behavior change to implement HOTS-based instruction by utilizing children's storybooks with local content. The results of program account much for further underlying reference of related program and/or research. The community service program is benefited for teachers in conditioning HOTS-based learning. It brings about the implication to Yapenkris Meusine through the partnership program for teachers’ capacity building on pedagogical competence in creating student-centered learning. Another implication goes to teachers’ comprehensive knowledge HOTS-based teaching and learning application to raise students critical and creative thinking. The program is limited on the training regarding HOTS-based questioning skills. Further program may focus on HOTS-based assessment.

Abstract

CV Bintang Timur Farm is a company in the field of chicken farming which has a partner of approximately 100 farmers. Breeders who partner with CV. Bintang Timur Farm is usually a small scale farmer. The problems that occur to farmers, especially small-scale farmers, are monitoring the temperature of the cage and managing the cleanliness of the cage. The solution that can be applied to these problems is the application of science and technology to the community of temperature and gas control systems in chicken coops based on the Internet of Things. The use of IoT technology will help farmers to be more effective and efficient in controlling the temperature and gas in the chicken coop and can be a reference for farmers to determine the right time for the cage to be cleaned. The method of implementing this activity uses the Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) method which involves partners in all of these service activities. While this service activity consists of a situation analysis FGD, making tool designs, assisting the use of tools, and evaluating program sustainability. Therefore, it is hoped that farmers can support and use IoT technology so that later they can fulfill market share. The output target resulting from this activity is to improve the skills of farmers in cultivation and management of cage hygiene by processing chicken manure into organic fertilizer, increasing chicken farm production by 5%.

Abstract

The strategic plan for the development of the Semaki area is to develop regional-based economic, social and cultural communities with various training programs. One of which is handmade batik craftsmen who is in UKM Balai Agung Cendana Batik Tulis. The problems are high production costs and the length of production time in making batik. The purpose is to increase the knowledge and capacity of partners in producing batik with natural dyes by introducing natural dyeing technology so as to reduce the stages of the process so as to reduce production costs. Methods and approaches in implementing this activity are counseling and training. Community service activities at Balai Agung Cendana Batik Tulis were able to increase participants' knowledge in drawing motifs, wax painting, dyeing processes, and pre-mordanting with chitosan up to 100%. The batik training provided to the community was also able to improve the community's skills in drawing and painting batik up to 92% and the skills of dyeing fabrics with natural dyes and chitosan mordanting up to 98%.

Abstract

Areas such as urban areas have relatively low water absorption. This is due to the imbalance between the pace of development and the availability of green open space. This condition eventually causes problems such as easy flooding, the difficulty for the community to obtain groundwater reserves, and the biological balance that is increasingly difficult to realize. Referring to these conditions, the solution that the author offers is to organize environmental maintenance training with the biopore concept for students. The target of this training is 30 participants from Mercu Buana University. The methods used in this training are through lectures, interactive discussions, and conducting simulations (practice). These results indicate that the students are very enthusiastic about participating in this training and are serious about practicing biopore making activities. In training, students were also invited to practice making biopore in the community, precisely at RT 001 and RT 003 RW 001, Meruya Selatan, Kembangan District, West Jakarta. The benefits that can be felt from making biopore include preventing flooding, being a dumping ground for organic waste, fertilizing plants, and improving air quality. After participating in this program, students are expected to become agents of change in their respective environments. In addition, through this activity, it is hoped that students can become examples and movers in environmental care in their respective regions.

Abstract

The purpose of this program is to improve students’ ability in reading English text by exposing the metacognitive reading strategy to make them an effective reader. This program was conducted in Senior High School in Kefamenanu, East Nusa Tenggara where the preliminary research has shown that students’ reading ability is still low. The method used in this service program is introducting the significance benefits of metacognitive in reading, exploring what category in metacognitive that used frequently by the students, and applying the metacognitive strategy in reading English text. Based on the first survey, the students did not familiar with metacognitive strategy in reading. After being introducing to metacognitive reading strategy, students become more aware about the importance of using strategy in reading. The result of metacognitive questionnaire showed that students frequently use support strategy more than problem-solving and global strategy. At last, students’ give positive feedback and perception about metacognitive reading strategy.

Abstract

Primary dysmenorrhea is an uncomfortable sensation centered in the lower abdomen. One of the therapies to overcome primary dysmenorrhea is complementary therapy. The results of the initial survey at MAN 4 Kediri obtained information that most experienced primary dysmenorrhea with mild to severe pain intensity and lack of information from health workers regarding the use of complementary therapies to reduce primary dysmenorrhea. The purpose of this community service activity is to form a peer group at MAN 4 Kediri in order to provide education and early treatment to young women who experience primary dysmenorrhea. The stages of implementing the activities include: the formation of a peer group; health education about the concept of dysmenorrhea and its management as well as demonstrations of the use of warm compress therapy and relaxation techniques. Evaluation is in the form of knowledge and ability assessment. Follow-up activities in the form of peer group assistance. The results of this activity showed that after being given education about the concept and management of dysmenorrhea, there was an increase in knowledge and being able to practice the use of warm compresses and long breath distraction techniques when experiencing primary dysmenorrhea. This community service activity is expected to empower the group of young women at MAN 4 Kediri to educate their peers about the concept of dysmenorrhea and complementary therapies that are safe for health, effective, and efficient to be applied daily.

Abstract

This community service activity was conducted in the form of online training, focusing on using English for designing virtual travel videos. Participants of this nation-wide training are 25 certified tour guides from various regions in Indonesia, out of 180 registrants. With Atourin as the training partner, the training aimed to facilitate the tour guide participants to be able to make virtual tour videos in English to promote tourism destinations to foreigners who would enjoy them from their homes during the Covid-19 pandemic. The training was conducted for two months in seven meetings via the Zoom platform with each meeting lasting for 120 minutes. At the end of the training, the participants were able to make virtual travel videos promoting tourism destinations in their respective areas. As seen from the participants’ enthusiasm for learning and their activeness in each meeting, it could be concluded that the training was a success. The training refreshed the tour guide participants’ English and improved their mastery before coming back to the tourism industry post-pandemic. Evaluation of the overall programme was conducted as an effort to improve the quality of a similar programme in the future, including conducting hybrid activities synchronously combining offline and online modes, allowing flexibility where participants can choose the mode with which they are more convenient.
