Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the REACT-based contextual learning model on the mastery of physics concepts in high school students. This study used a Quasi Experimental research model with a pretest-posttest control group design. The study population was all students of class XI MIA SMA Negeri Samadua, South Aceh Regency which consisted of two classes. Both classes were used as research samples by forming an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group is a class that uses a REACT-based contextual learning model in physics learning, while the control group is a class that uses a conventional learning model through the lecture method. The instruments used were RPP, LKPD and test questions. The pretest and posttest in this study were used to measure the students' initial and final abilities in physics. The data analysis technique used is the t-test with a significance level of 5%. The results of hypothesis testing obtained tcount (2.13) ttable (1.68), meaning that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. These results interpreted that there was a significant influence on the REACT-based contextual learning model on the mastery of physics concepts for students of class XI MIA SMA Samadua, South Aceh Regency.

Abstract

Based on cognitive maturity, students of the Physics Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty - Unsyiah when they were at the education level in Senior High School and College were in the same category, namely the early adult stage. That requires students could adjust to the pattern of learning life in higher education, especially first-year students who are in a transition period from high school to college. The purpose of this study was to compare whether the learning achievements obtained by Physics Education Students, Teacher Training and Education Faculty - Unsyiah were better than the achievements achieved at Senior High Schools. This type of research is a comparative study with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a sample of 37 students of class 2018. The data was collected using the documentation method. Data were analyzed using the t-test equation. From the analysis, it can be seen that the results of the hypothesis test obtained are the t count = 7.05 with a significant level of α = 0.05 and t table = 1.68, so the results are rejected H0 and accept Ha because of t count ≥ t table. It was concluded, that the learning achievement of Physics Materials from Physics Education Students, Teacher Training and Education Faculty - Unsyiah in the college was better than during high school.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the effectiveness of using SAC in distance learning physics. To see its effectiveness based on the value of creativity and student learning outcomes. This study usesquasi-experimental, there were two groups that were randomly selected, then given a pretest and after the next treatment was given a postest to find out whether there was a difference between the experimental group and the control group. The participants were all class X TKJ SMKN 1 Baktiya students in the first semester, totaling 37 students. The first treatment is using power point media as a learning resource. For the second treatment using SAC media in designing Android-based learning media. Data obtainedThe learning outcomes of students who are taught using instructional media are designed with an SAC of 70.55 and a standard deviation of 7.83. Meanwhile, using power point media the average student learning outcomes were 73.15 and a standard deviation was 7.49. Also obtained a sign price of 0.15 0.05 means that Ho is accepted. So it can be concluded that the use of SAC-based learning media is effective in increasing learning outcomes and student learning creativity during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Abstract

Higher Order Of Thinking (HOT) based tests are very necessary for students, because in addition to increasing student understanding, HOT-based learning instruments can also improve the abilities and skills possessed by students. The purpose of this training is to hone the teacher's skills in preparing HOT-based tests and find out the participants' responses to the activities carried out. The stages of community training activities are: coordination of the implementation team with partners and LPPM Unsyiah, preparation of materials, identification of problems by partners, training of teachers, data analysis and reporting of activities. The subject of this training is Physics Teacher at the SMA Negeri 1 Meulaboh. The target of this activity is to equip partner teachers with basic knowledge and experience in developing HOT-based tests, able to properly compile HOT-based physics questions. The outputs produced are (1) service report; (2) HOT question preparation module and (3) Articles that will be published in the Journal. The results of the training activities carried out went well, targets that had been set previously had been achieved well. Physics teachers already have the knowledge to develop HOT-based questions and will continue to develop further. Through the results of the questionnaire analysis the responses of the participants obtained good responses. Where the physics teacher at SMA Negeri 1 Meulaboh felt helped by the existence of this training activity and wanted to be applied in the learning process.

Abstract

The ability of students to ask questions is one of the obstacles faced by teachers when teaching. Most students do not want to ask questions when the teacher gives the chance to ask questions. The low ability of students to ask questions was also influenced by the ability of teachers to raise the enthusiasm of students to ask questions also experienced by physics teachers in Aceh Tengah. Therefore, it is necessary to increase teacher professionalism in these activities. The purpose of this activity is to provide support to physics teachers on how to improve students' scientific questioning skills in physics lessons at SMA Aceh Tengah District. The target of Community Service activities in 2020, is the core teachers in the field of Physics in Aceh Tengah Regency, totaling 10 people. Implementation of assistance uses the Question Web-Based Learning (QWBL) learning model or the questions based learning model. Assistance material is the development of student worksheets based on questions or called the student activity question web worksheets (SQWS). SQWS is a question sheet that can link one question with other questions about the material being studied. The teacher's ability to improve students' scientific questioning skills in learning physics is measured using the Scientific Asking Skills Assessment Sheet (SASAS) or scientific questioning skills test assessment sheet. The results of the mentoring show that the teacher's ability to ask questions before going mentoring is in the average scientific category and less scientific, whereas after mentoring the average ability of the teacher to ask is in the scientific category and very scientific. This shows that the mentoring activity very helped physics teachers to improve students' scientific questioning skills at SMA Aceh Tengah district.

Abstract

Retention was one of internal factors that influenced learning success. The low level of student retention needed tobe a concern of teachers and educational institutions. This study aimed to determine the differences in student retention abilities from the retest results between experimental class who were taught using a multi-representation based module and the control class students who were taught using textbooks on Black principle material. The approach used in this research was a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. Data collection was done by tests using multiple choice questions. Purposive sampling used to select the samples, the sample in this study were 22 students of class XI MIA I as a control class and 22 students of class XI MIA II as an experimental class. Based on the results of data analysis, the retention score of the two classes in an interval of one week was excellent, but the experimental class students achieved higher score than the control class students with a difference of 4.42%. Hypothesis test results obtained tcount (1.71) ttable (1.68), mean reject Ho and accept Ha, which means that the retention score of experimental class students was better than the retention score of control class students.Keyword: Multi representation-based module, textbooks, student retention.

Abstract

The critical thinking skills of class 10th from senior high school Banda Aceh students have not been trained in the learning process, students are not given the opportunity to analyze a problem, identify, conclude or come up with new ideas or an action on a problem. In fact, research shows that the learning process of biology in schools does not encourage students to think critically, thus affecting low learning outcomes. The research objective was to determine the increase in critical thinking skills in class 10th skills on the concept of environmental pollution and knowing the differences in critical thinking skills of class 10th students on the concept of environmental pollution in the experimental and control class. Data were collected from March to April 2019. The approach of this research is to use a quantitative, evaluation research type, the method used is quasi-experimental, with a factorial design group pre-test post-test. The sample in this study amounted to 253 students from two high schools in Banda Aceh. Essay questions are used to measure students' critical thinking skills. The data analysis used ANCOVA at a significant level of 0.05. Hypothesis test results show the value of ρ α, 0.00 0.05. The conclusion of this study is that the application of the PBL integrated with the mindmap can improve students' critical thinking skills. There are differences in students' critical thinking skills using integrated mindmapping PBL, PBL, mindmapping, and conventional.
