Abstract

Pohuwato Regency is the largest maize producing area in Gorontalo Province. Since 2015, about 50 percent of maize production in Gorontalo Province has come from Pohuwato Regency. Padengo Village, West Popayato District is one area that contributes to producing maize in Pohuwato Regency because most of the farmers in this village are maize farmers. Depend on the field observations and interviews with farmers in Padengo village, it is known that one of the problems faced by corn farmers is the difficulty of controlling armyworm pests in corn. Based on these conditions, the thematic real work lecture program carries out community service on empowering farming communities through the use of local plants as environmentally friendly pest controllers. In this community service program, seminars and training on the manufacture of vegetable pesticides have been carried out for farmers, production of vegetable pesticides from siam weed leaves and gamal leaves, application of vegetable pesticides on demonstration plots as well as regular observations of maize pest populations on maize fields in Padengo village, West Popayato District.

Abstract

Indonesia is a maritime country with great potential, in various aspects of living natural resources and human resources. Not many people know that Gorontalo is a province that has amazing coastal tourism objects. Since becoming a province, Gorontalo has explored a lot of potential so that it can compete ahead with other provinces, especially in the field of natural tourism. Talking about the potential for natural tourism, in Gorontalo Province, especially Molosipat Village, Pohuwato Regency has several coastal areas with beautiful natural potential so that it is very suitable to be used as a beach tourism spot. The large number of natural potentials in Molosipat village is not followed by a good arrangement of the tourist area so that the natural potential is simply lost to tourists. In connection with these conditions, the focus in the implementation of this service is to provide socialization and training to the community of Molosipat village related to how to organize natural tourism in empowering the natural potential of the coast which is owned by the Molosipat coastal area. This activity is carried out by providing socialization and training which includes: discourse, discussions and structuring the Molosipat beach tourism area. The targets that will be involved in this activity are the Molosipat community, especially those in the Molosipat beach hamlet, youth organizations and Molosipat village officials. The implementation of the "Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Tematik" service activity held in Molosipat Village, Popayato Barat Subdistrict, Pohuwato Regency has been running according to the initial plan, but in the process of implementing it still needs to be done regularly in training and mentoring because this will be useful in developing structuring beach tourism area in the village of Molosipat. Therefore, the form of community service activities in terms of socialization and training on structuring coastal tourism areas to empower the natural potential of the coast should be continued continuously.

Abstract

School children are at a rapid development stage in their intellectual and skill processes and are beginning to have vigorous physical activities. To support the development and physical activity, school children need various kinds of nutrients in sufficient quantities in order to grow and develop properly, because the role of nutrition greatly determines the child's health condition. In this regard, many direct factors are affecting nutritional status, including food consumption and infectious diseases. Moreover, several indirect factors, such as knowledge, education, income level, parental education, and family size, also affected the nutritional status. In developing countries, including Indonesia, nutrition is becoming more critical in terms of public health because malnutrition can reduce immunity to several diseases, especially infectious diseases. This community service program aims to increase education and provide information about stunting through the dissemination of stunting prevention and fostering the creativity of the community through the utilization of the home yard. The implementation methods employed includeddissemination, the use of Poskesdes as a Healthy Village House, coaching, and community empowerment. Thematic Community Service Program outputs are dissemination activities, the formation of Healthy Village Houses and modules on the use of house yards, and the formation of garden models, which are the results of the utilization of house yards that can be emulated by people who want to use their houses as gardens. The advice given regarding this Community Service Program is that the local government needs to support the stunting prevention in the village, especially in Karya Indah Village. Moreover, awareness is needed from village officials, health cadres, and the community in managing Poskesdes as a Healthy Village Home. Guidance and support from village officials and youth organizations are also needed for the community regarding the utilization of home yards
