Abstract

Human resources produced by universities must be involved in increasing the nation's competitiveness. Science and technology and higher education can contribute to strengthening the economy and improving people's welfare. It is shown by the technology advantage produced and partnerships with the industrial sector. Higher education institutions in Indonesia have produced innovations that bring direct benefits to the community. Community service activities are a form of university involvement in implementing knowledge. Higher education must convince academics to think that the Tri Dharma of higher education is a package of activities and a symbol of the success of an institution as a college. Community service can empower people by applying appropriate technology, problem-solving models, and social design. Community services of higher education can produce intellectual property rights and also policy recommendations that can be applied by the community, business, industry, and government.

Abstract

Harjosari Subdistrict, Sukajadi Sub-District is near from the central government of Pekanbaru. In this district, an UKM was established which was named Tekat Tiga Dara since 2009 with the first members of 2 (two) people and growi up to 10 (ten) people. This UKM produces and sells handicrafts produced by its members, including acrylic crafts, embroidery and aids. To remind the family income of the surrounding UKM, Nurila as the manager, formed two Craft Joint Business Groups (KUNTUM BERTUAH) and food (MEKAR BERSEMI). The KUB craft consists of 14 (fourteen) housewives who live around Jl. Dahlia gg. Jati. The main production from KUB Kuntum Bertuah is Sulam Tekat. Dense embroidery is a typical Malay embroidery that is widely applied to wall hangings, aisle, and souvenir for regional and wedding activities. The main ingredient of this dense embroidery is gold prada paper which is fixed (attached) to the base cloth (velvet, songket etc.). The process starts from making embroidery motifs on paper prada, cutting out motifs, pasting and sewing the edges of the motif with gold thread. The most difficult and time-consuming process is to embroider and make paper patterns. Making patterns on paper is done by tracing pattern on paper prada, then cut according to the curve of the pattern. Both of these processes requires high patience and precision. If it is wrongly cut, then this expensive material will be damaged and cannot be used. This KUB very hopeful for a tool that can print patterns and at the same time cut them on prada paper. To overcome this problem, KUB members will be trained to use simple graphic design computer applications commonly used to print it on cutting sticker printer machines. Hopefully, with this method, the work of making souvenirs with any of the same motifs can be made shorter and faster. It is expected that this KUB production will also increase according to market demand.

Abstract

The main objective of community service is the application of the innovation of composite wood Material technology by utilizing wood species material with a fast growing species at Teluk Nilap Village, Kubu Babussalam District, Rokan Hilir Regency of Riau Province expected to provide solutions to the scarcity of wood materials with certain specifications for the rejuvenation of the community fishing vessel and the sustainability of the shipbuilding industry in the coastal region of Riau province. The method of approach used in this implementation is to combine the composite wood technology with the local wisdom culture of wood-based vessel material. The partnership of manufacturing full scale physical model timber vessel 1 GT and 3 GT fishermen in the community shipyard industry owned by H. Ali in Teluk Nilap village, Kubu Babussalam, Rokan Hilir District. The main result of devotion to society proved that the application of composite wood material technology using wood type fast growing for the construction of public fishing vessel size 1 GT and 3 GT (innovation) and has been applied to the Timber Shipyard Industry. The synergy of innovation and partnership encourages the improvement of the economy of fishermen communities in the coastal region of Riau province with the support of the independent shipyard industry.

Abstract

The abuse and distribution of narcotics in the city of Medan have been very worrying lately, almost all groups are the target, especially teenagers and young people, Narcotics include extraordinary crimes (extraordinary crime) that are very destructive than physical and mental than the next generation of the nation. Therefore a rehabilitation center that meets standards is needed. Rehabilitation is an effort to restore and restore the condition of victims and drug abuse to return to physical, psychological, social and spiritual health. So far the Ummi House rehabilitation center has not been optimal. The method of this routine activity is: Every morning wake up, the residents/clients are obliged to carry out morning prayers in congregation and prayer five times, holding recitals. For this reason, a Chancellor and Worship Practice program is required and other activities are closed at 10 pm. There is no time left, all the time utilized in the framework of resident recovery. The results of this Activity Program to Clients / Rehabilitated Patients are a healthy condition and can return to normal functioning in daily life. And do not return to using the Drug.

Abstract

Kawasan Hutan Dengan Tujuan Khusus (KHDTK) Kepau Jaya or specific purpose forest area Kepau Jaya, located in Kepau Jaya Village, Siak Hulu Sub-district, Kampar Regency, intended as an experimental farm of bee feed resources and research of the potensial fiber wood from native species. Based on the geographics, the position of KHDTK Kepau Jaya was bordered of the settlement so that deemed necessary to thing for social empowerment in the managerial things. The citizens are dominant work as a farmer in there which are the migrant community. The current concept of forest management areas still focus on the sectoral egos that can trigger such tenurial conflicts like land occupation. As a preventive effort, through an institutional persuasive approach, the establishment of forest farmer groups has been initiated. This is in line with Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. P.83/MENLHK/ SETJEN/Kum.1/10/2016 about Social Forestry. The concept is making the community in managing KHDTK Kepau Jaya as a conservation partner. Member of forest farmer groups are permitted to enter and managing land in KHDTK areas by implementing agrosylvapastura and agroforestry concept using zonation system. Nowadays, the annual crops were harvested and it can be an alternative source of income household for members of forest farmer groups.

Abstract

Tanjung Lanjut Village Sekernan sub-district of Muaro Jambi region has Tangkas lake as potential of beautiful tourism. The lake has a unique attraction with the Putat tree flowering red Flanconia Valida which blooms and falls around July to August in every year. The potential of tourist attractions in this village managed by Village-Owned Enterprises but has not sustainable and has not an impact on increasing income for the local community. Based on the problems above, the solution implemented in the community service activities is the assistance of the of tourism and promotion. This empowering activity is carried out by 1). Transfer of knowledge of sustainable management (economic, social, and environmental aspects). 2) Training and capacity building assistance. Based on the results of service activities, there was an increase in knowledge, motivation, managerial ability, and technical skills in managing sustainable tourism potential, which had an impact on increasing the number of visitors. Impact the increasing of the visitors contribute new economic resources or alternatives for local people who have only relied on the plantation and agriculture sectors. Other findings indicate that the management of Tangkas Lake did not have sufficient cooperation and networking capabilities with various levels of partners. Thus further assistance is needed in enhancing collaboration and networking skills.

Abstract

The village budget is a central and regional financial balance fund that is distributed proportionally to each village. Village funds are aimed at organizing village governance and community empowerment. The constraints faced by partners were that the community of Tanjung Lanjut in Sekernan Subdistrict, Muaro Jambi Regency had substantially no initiative to contribute to the management of village budget funds and the development of village potential. The paternalistic culture of the village community caused the community to be indifferent and to give full trust to the village head towards managing the budgetary allocation of village funds. The method used in this service is by conducting socialization, monitoring and controlling of service partners, namely Tanjung Lanjut Village, Sekernan District, Muaro Jambi Regency. Based on the results of the service conducted, there was an increase in knowledge and the level of community participation in managing village budget funds which had an impact on community participation in the development of village potential so that village development took place in a participatory and prosperous manner.

Abstract

Kuantan Singingi District is one of the districts in Riau Province that has great potential in the plantation sector, especially rubber plantations. Almost 30% of the total rubber production in Riau Province is sourced from Kuantan Singingi District. The success of this sector is inseparable from the role of counseling. The purposes of this service are; (1) Increasing extension workers 'knowledge and contactors about the classification and characteristics of agricultural extension media, (2) Increasing extension workers' knowledge and skills in selecting effective agricultural extension media; (3) Enhancing the knowledge and skills of extension workers and farmers in making agricultural extension media in the form of videos. Conduct training activities with stages of presentation and discussion with participants and the practice of making extension videos. The activity was attended by 30 participants, consisting of extension workers and rubber farmers. The activity has been able to increase the knowledge of extension workers and rubber farmers about extension media, and selection of effective extension media, as well as having skills in making extension videos. Further guidance is still ongoing so that the role of extension workers can increase.

Abstract

Palm sap has the potential to be used as sugar because it contains the dominant sugar component, the type of sucrose. Palm Sugar from Mabar Village, Bangun Purba District is known as truly pure palm sugar. The problem faced by palm farmers in this village is that the palm sugar business has not yet become a reliable business to improve the family economy. The purpose of this community service activity is to facilitate the sugar palm farmers so they can improve their businesses and become productive businesses. The method used in this activity is counseling / education, technology implementation from the Community Service Team. The results achieved in this activity partners namely sugar palm farmers are given a way of socializing processing, implementation of tools from traditional to modern. The results achieved are palm sugar syrup and palm sugar.

Abstract

Oyster mushrooms are one type of mushroom that is cultivated commercially in Indonesia. Oyster mushroom is one type of mushroom that is commercially cultivated in Indonesia. Oyster mushrooms can be harvested within 1-3 months. So that from the business side of oyster mushrooms is very profitable. Namur because the business capital to buy mushroom seeds supplied from outside the area is reduced, then from 5 mushroom farmers who survive only 2 farmers. One of them is in the village of Umban Sari Atas, Rumbai District, Pekanbaru City. For this reason, a larger business capital is needed than before. This is where the idea arises to increase the variation in production from the mushroom. One of them is using baglog mushroom waste which has not been utilized into mushroom baglog briquettes. By using baglog waste technology, oyster mushrooms can be broken down and converted into mushroom baglog briquettes. The oyster mushroom baglog waste briquettes of course can be one of the alternative fuels that can be sold and made into a variant of production other than mushrooms. Thus it is expected to increase the income of mushroom farmers. In this PKM some of the problems faced are: (1) increased utilization of baglogjamur waste as a product variant of fungal development that has not been utilized or baglog waste in order to increase production and income. (2) Procurement of manual press machines to get the same baglog mushroom briquette density. The output of this PKM is the introduction of oyster baglog mushroom waste decomposition technology as the development of mushroom products and the manufacture of mushroom briquettes to oyster mushroom farmers in Upper Umban Sari village and the procurement of manual press machines for making baglog mushroom briquettes. In addition, from the PKM, there is an increase in the production of mushroom farmers, if previously the farmers can harvest 3-4 kg of mushrooms a day, now farmers can harvest mushrooms 5-6 kg per day. After using the combustion process using briquettes from processed baglog mushroom waste, farmers can also save costs for purchasing fuel (wood, rice husk) of Rp. 120,000 for the process of heating and steam mushroom seeds every month.
