Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to describe competence of biology teachers at public senior high school pekanbaru on action research. This study hold on Desember 2015 until March 2016. The sample of this study was 29 biology teachers at Public Senior High School in Pekanbaru that selected by purposive sampling. This study conducted with closed-ended and open–ended questionnaire. The closed-ended questionnaire consist of 17 items and divided into 3 indicator. The indicator are motivation, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skill and then 42 item about Class action Reset included 4 indicator. The indicatore are (Device class action research, backgroundclass action research, Implementation and Results class action research). The whole item questionnaire enclosed declared valid and reliable. Closed questionnaire obstacle teachers through Pearson correlation test, where all items declared valid, reliability test questionnaire through Cronbach's alpha test alpha of 0.89 was obtained. Validity and reliability were analyzed using SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Studies) v ersion17.00f or Windows. Whereas the questionnaire reliability test comprehension test values obtained using 4.9 anates 0.9. Data were analyzed descriptively. Overview obstacles Biology teacher SMA Pekanbaru in envolving the action research as follows: Motivation show sufficient criteria with a mean 3.01, ICT Skills showed sufficient criteria to average 3.39. While understanding class action research also showed sufficient criteria with the average percentage of 61.87%. Thus, it is known that the High School Biology teacher Pekanbaru action research implementation by category quite well. Key Words: Teacher competence, Action research, Senior high school,Biology teacher

Abstract

Research has been carried out in the Laboratory of Biology Teacher Training andEducation Faculty of University of Riau from April to August 2013. The goal of thisresearch is to determine the best type of mulch to trigger the vegetative growth ofsweet corn (Zea mays L. var. saccharata) and produce module on the concept ofdevelopment and growth concept for high school students. This research usedexperimental methods with randomized block design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 3replications so that there are 15 experimental units. Treatment are A 0 = without mulch,A 1 = mulch reeds, A 2 = mulch palm empty fruit bunches, A 3 = mulch black plastic, A 4 =white plastic bag. Biological parameters measured were plant height, stem diameter,fresh weight and dry weight. Physic-chemical parameters are soil temperature, soilmoisture, and soil pH. The data were analyzed by ANOVA and tested further byDMRT at 5% level. The results showed that the use of mulch influence on stemdiameter and dry weight of sweet corn plants, but not in the height and wet weight ofthe plant. The use of oil palm empty fruit bunches mulch gave best result on theparameter plant height (86,54 cm), stem diameter (1,80 cm), fresh weight (191,7 g)and sweet corn plant dry weight (43,33 g ). The results of this research can bedeveloped into module on the concept of plant growth for high school students withthe title of “Pengaruh Beberapa Jenis Mulsa Terhadap Pertumbuhan VegetatifTanaman Jagung”.Keywords: Corn, Dry weight, Mulch, Module, Plant height, Stem diameter, Vegetativegrowth, Wet weight

Abstract

To investigate the diversity of gastropods and bivalves in the mangrove forest area Apit Siak River District in April to December2014.The results are used for the development of instructional mediain the form of media objects directly in the form of wet preservation of the species are found. This research was carried out with 2 phases: phase field research and media development. Determination of the research station by purposive sampling to establish three research stations. Each station consists of two transects and one achtransect consists of 3 plots. Biological parameters observed that diversity index and the physical and chemical parameters include salinity, pH, temperature, organic content of the substrate and the texture class. The results showed that the diversity of gastropods in the mangrove forest area Apit Siak River District ranged from 1.73 to 1.85 which is relatively moderate range. The results of the research can be used as a medium of learning in the from of media preservation of biodiversity o the material wet grade ten high school.Keywords : diversity Gastropoda, bivalves, mangrove, media learning.

Abstract

This study aims to increase the activity and student learning outcomes biology class VIIIa SMPN 2 Logas Tanah Darat through the implementation of cooperative learning model of Type Inside Outside Circle (IOC). This research was classroom action research conducted in NovemberDecember 2011. Subjects were students in grade VIIIa SMPN 2 Logas Tanah Darat land totaling 24 students, consisting of 12 male students and 12 female students. The parameters in this study is, student activities, teacher activities and student learning outcomes. Student activities that increase of 86.01% (very good) on a cycle I increased to 96.35% (very good category) in the second cycle. And activities that teachers have increased from 94.45% (very good) on a cycle I to 100% (very good) in the second cycle. Absorptive capacity of students also increased, the cycle I with an average of 68.54% (category enough), the second cycle with an average of 75.20% (both categories). Thoroughness of student learning has increased with the percentage of completeness in the cycle I was 83.33% and 95.83% the second cycle. Appreciation group on the cycle I have 2 groups and 4 groups predicated predicated super great, whereas in the second cycle 5 and a great group predicated predicated super group. From the research results can be concluded that the application of cooperative learning model of Type Inside Outside Circle (IOC) can increase the activity and learning outcomes of students Biology class VIIIa SMPN 2 Logas Tanah Darat Lessons Year 2011/2012.Keywords: Activities, cooperative learning model type Inside Outside Circle (IOC), Learning Outcomes

Abstract

Goniothalamus merupakan salah satu genus terbesar Annonaceae yang menjadi sumber ubatan tradisional yang penting di Asia Tengggara. Beberapa bahan bioaktif dari kumpulan terbitan stiril dehidropiron terutama goniothalamin telah dipencilkan dari genus ini dan telah dibuktikan mempunyai potensi sebagai anti kanker. Kandungan goniothalamin yang terdapat pada daun, kulit, batang dan akar daripada 21 spesies Goniothalamus yang terdapat di Semenanjung Malaysia, serta variasi goniothalamin dari lokasi yang berbeza bagi Goniothalamus macrophyllus dikaji secara kuantitatif dengan menggunakan Kromatografi Cecair Tekanan Tinggi (HPLC). Analisis kuantitatif menunjukkan purata peratus goniothalamin yang tertinggi daripada daun boleh di dapati daripada G. fulvus (5.81%), kulit daripada G. tortilipetalus (12.1%), batang (11.3%) dan akar (13.21%) daripada G. macrophyllus. Manakala lokasi pengambilan sampel G. macrophyllus yang terbaik bagi kandungan goniothalamin adalah Hutan Rekreasi Jambu Bongkok Terengganu. Analisis kuantitatif juga menunjukkan bahawa peratus kandungan goniothalamin bagi setiap lokasi dan spesies didapati berbeza. Secara keseluruhan kandungan goniothalamin yang terbanyak boleh di dapati daripada G. macrophyllus, dan kandungan tertinggi adalah dari sampel yang diambil daripada Hutan Rekreasi Jambu Bongkok, Terengganu.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted on toxicity tests of rengas (Gluta renghas) bark extract to shrimp larvae Artemia salina in July to September 2015. This research aims to determine the toxicity of rengas (Gluta renghas) bark extract to shrimp larvae of Artemia salina. This research was carried out by experimental research using Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method which consisted of 5 treatments and 3 replications. Parameters measured were the mortality of shrimp larvae Artemia salina. The data obtained and analyzed by probit analysis using regression equation. The results showed that the extract of bark rengas (Gluta renghas) is toxic to shrimp larvae of Artemia salina. It can be seen from the LC50 values of 599.79 ppm. Key Words: Toxicity Test, Rengas (Gluta renghas), Artemia salina

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the increase in soft skills FKIP Riau University Biology students through PBL learning model. Research subjects are biology students 4th semester (four) year 2012/2013, amounting to 19 people. This type of research is action research. The research instrument is a learning device (Syllabus, SAP, LKM, Textbook), while collecting data by observation sheet. Parameters of soft skills is a creative research, analysis, communication, problem solving, management, independent and work together. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the average soft skills of students in the first cycle 71.68% (excellent) increased to 80.64% (excellent) on the second cycle. Thus the application of PBL models can improve the soft skills of students at the University of Riau FKIP Biology course Genetics and Evolution.Keywords: Genetics and Evolution, soft skills Ability, Problem Based Learning (PBL)

Abstract

Conducted a study to determine the concentration of heavy metals copper ( Cu ) on the Red Snail ( Cerithidea sp ) on Sea waters Dumai conducted in May and June 2011. The method used was a survey method , in which the station is purposive determination of systematic sampling at three observation stations . The main parameters measured were cu metal content in sea water , sediments and Cerithidea sp and the level of accumulation of heavy metals Cu . While supporters of the parameters are temperature , brightness , salinity , pH , dissolved oxygen , organic matter content and the type of substrate . Heavy metal concentrations of Cu were analyzed using AAS ( Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer ). The data were analyzed descriptions. The results showed Cu concentrations of heavy metals in sea water range from 0.102 ppm - 0.175 ppm. Cu content of heavy metals in sediments ranged from 1.323 ppm - 3.631 ppm. While the concentration of Cu on Cerithidea sp ranged from 1.264 ppm - 2.592 ppm. Cu concentration of heavy metals in marine waters Dumai has passed the threshold for sea water quality, while the heavy metal concentrations of Cu in Cerithidea sp has not passed the threshold. Biological value of Cu concentration factor on Cerithidea sp ranged from 12.3 to 19.3. This shows the level of accumulation of heavy metals Cu is low.Keywords: Cerithidea sp, Heavy Metal, Copper (Cu)

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the concentration of rice husk charcoal and cow manure on the growth of Dayak onions (Eleutherine americana Merr.) And produce Student Worksheets for class XII SMA. This research was conducted in Jayapura Village, Siak Regency, in October-December 2019. This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized factorial design consisting of 2 treatments using a combination of rice husk charcoal and cow manure and each treatment was repeated as much 3 times. The parameters of this study were leaf length, number of leaves, number of tillers, leaf wet weight, and tuber wet weight. The design of LKPD development refers to the stages of the Problem Based Learning model which are simplified into the Analyze and Design stages. The results showed that the combination of rice husk charcoal and cow manure can increase the growth of Dayak onions significantly affected at a dose of 90 gr/tan (S2K2) with the best treatment on each parameter observed. The results obtained will be used as a development material for the growth and development of Class XII SMA in KD 3.1 and 4.1. The results of the design of learning tools in the form of Syllabus, RPP and LKPD.

Abstract

  Have been conducted by a research to know the accumulation of metal Zincum (Zn) and Cupprum (Cu) in territorial water of  Siak River by using thyroid bioaccumulator Water hyasin (Eichhornia crassipes) what is conducted at month April-Juni  2004.  Method  used by that is survey with the technique of intake sampel  by purposive random sampling at 5 station.  Research parameter is content of metal Cu, Zn in thyroid and Water hyasin, temperature, brightness, dissolved oxygen, pH, nitrate and pospat. Analyze the data conducted descript result. The Result of research show concentration in territorial water Siak River metal Cu at height level at range 0.14-0,27 mg/1 and metal Zn low level at < 0.001 mg/1. Accumulation of metal Cu and Zn in Eichhornia crassipes height level categories, while at root 14,5-24,0 mg/1, at bar 8.0-16,0 mg/1 and at leaf 25 0-39,5 mg/1. Accumulation of metal Zn at root 74,0-189,5 mg/1, at bar 23,5-165,5 mg/l and at leaf 11,0- 9,0 mg/l.   Key words :  Metal Cu , Metal Zn, Bioaccumulator Eceng gondok (Eichhornia crassipes)
