Hippocampus: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (e-ISSN 2830-7968 and p-ISSN 2961-7138) was published in 2022 by the Center for Research and Community Service (P3M) of the Sambas State Polytechnic. This journal publishes community service results, especially in Agrocomplex (Fisheries and Marine, Animal Husbandry, Forestry, Agriculture, Plantations, and Food) carried out by lecturers, students, other academic circles, and public parties. The purpose of this journal is to disseminate conceptual thinking ideas and ideas from community service activities in the field of agrocomplex and food both in the form of scope which includes counseling, training, socialization, entrepreneurship, education, and training, as well as community empowerment. It is published 2 times in June and December every year.

Abstract

A Fisheries Business License (SIUP) is a mandatory thing that must be owned by fish farming entrepreneurs to have a license to do business and use the fish cultivation production facilities contained in the letter. It is important for every cultivator to know the procedures for obtaining a SIUP so that the business carried out can run well. The problem found is that most farmers do not have a SIUP because they do not know the purpose and benefits of SIUP for the catfish business they are engaged in. The purpose of this community service is to provide knowledge about doing catfish farming businesses that have SIUP. This service was carried out on September 4-5, 2021 at the Pokdakan OI Cere Nggembe Village, Bolo District, Bima Regency using the socialization method and FGD to the OI Cere Pokdakan which consists of 10 members. The result of the service is that the participants have known the procedures for the SIUP application process and the benefits of having a SIUP in running a dumbo catfish farming business.

Abstract

The utilization of fish waste needs to be widely applied to the community, especially at the household scale. One of them is by carrying out community service activities, the purpose of this activity is to socialize as well as provide training on processing tilapia bones into shreds to housewives in Sebangun village. The method of service activities starts from planning, observation or initial visits, preparation, and implementation of activities. The training steps begin with the delivery of theory then demonstration or training as well as direct assistance to participants. The results of the activity achieved were that the participants had known the process of making shredded tilapia bones and the standard process of product packaging. In addition, it is hoped that the results of this activity can be disseminated, fulfill children's nutrition, and can improve the community's economy.

Abstract

Snacks are foods that can be consumed instantly and are liked by adults and children alike. Most children really like snacks because they like snacks with various shapes, striking colors and good taste. Therefore, the purpose of this counseling was to provide an understanding of how to choose healthy snacks at the 04 Tengguli Elementary School in Tengguli, Sajad District, Sambas Regency, West Kalimantan. The approach used in this activity includes a model of material exposure, educational games, and evaluation. The counseling activities carried out went smoothly, it could be seen that the elementary school students were enthusiastic in participating in the activities from beginning to end. This counseling is expected to provide education to students, especially students of SDN 04 Tengguli so that they can distinguish between healthy snacks and unhealthy snacks, besides that students are also expected to understand the impact of consuming unhealthy snacks.

Abstract

Indonesian faces various health-related problems, one of which is the lack of balanced nutrition. Nutrients can affect the level of health, intelligence, and high work productivity. Counseling at SD Negeri 27 Kartiasa, Sambas Regency aims to increase the knowledge of elementary school children about balanced nutrition intake patterns. The method used in this activity is lecture and question and answer. The process of this activity lasts for ± 1 hour. The results of this activity showed that students at SD Negeri 27 Kartiasa were very enthusiastic in participating in counseling activities. The students listen well when delivering the material, so that there is interaction between one another. With this balanced nutrition education counseling, it is hoped that students can apply a healthy lifestyle and consume healthy food and drinks according to their needs. Through this activity, students can find out a balanced nutritional intake that should be consumed according to their age and body condition.

Abstract

Elementary school students are an age group that is vulnerable to nutrition. This is due to the rapid growth and development of children and relatively busy school schedules. Optimization of development in children requires adequate nutrition from the point of view of quality and quantity and requires attention in terms of stakeholders. Children of primary school age are at risk of having nutritional problems related to nutrition, growth and development. The main purpose of this socialization is to provide knowledge to students about the importance of balanced nutrition in children of primary school age. The method used in this activity is storytelling. During the socialization period, the students were very enthusiastic, many asked questions and there was a two-way communication. The provision of nutrition education on storytelling and singing methods went smoothly at SDN 12 Sungai Pinang. Follow-up is needed regarding socialization activities for the implementation of student diets with balanced nutrition.

Abstract

In this day and age, ready-to-eat food is more attractive to teenagers because it is easy and short to serve. Fast food is considered contemporary food and is popular among teenagers. Teenagers need to get used to a healthy diet to build a body. Therefore, counseling was carried out with the aim of providing learning about healthy eating patterns to seventh and eighth grade students. This activity was carried out at SMP Negeri 5 Sambas on June 9, 2022 in the form of counseling with the theme "Providing Education Regarding Healthy Eating Patterns for Students of SMP Negeri 5 Sambas". The results of the counseling show that there are still many students who do not understand the importance of a healthy diet, such as implementing breakfast behavior that can help metabolism and concentration processes. After this counseling was carried out, it could be concluded that this activity produced output, namely adding insight and increasing students' knowledge about healthy eating patterns.

Abstract

Silkworm culture media (Tubifex sp.) are very important because it can be affected on growth and nutrient content of silkworm, such as fruit and vegetable waste. The waste disposal of fruit and vegetable in Rejang Lebong Regency have not been used properly, therefore this counseling aims of management of the waste of fruit and vegetable as and environmentally friendly silkworm culture media in Talang Rimbo Lama, Rejang Lebong Regency. The approach used includes meeting with the partnership, counseling, demonstrating, and evaluating. The counseling was interactive and communicative, and participants showed that considerable interest on materials presented. This counseling can improve knowledges and skills about silkworm cultivation and the use of the waste of fruit and vegetable as a silkworm culture media.

Abstract

The potential of fish resources in coastal areas is very broad. but in general the people who live in coastal areas still live a life that is not prosperous. The low income of fishermen and fish cultivators is in stark contrast to the current fisheries potential and the competitive nature of the fishing business compared to other businesses. The purpose of this service is to increase the capacity of fisherwomen by practicing creating innovative fish and squid processed products and developing female fisherman's knowledge about business management. The method used includes the preparation stage, the next stage is production training and training on how to process fresh fish products. Selling points to produce attractive packaging for sale other than food preservative packaging. The conclusion of this community service as a whole the activities went well. This can be seen from the successful innovation of processed fishery products to help solve the problems of fisherwomen as processors of fishery products. as well as the total production capacity of female fishermen through training in the distribution of various processed fish products.

Abstract

Lack of public attention about the impotance of nutritious food for health. Most people in the village have switched to fast food such as instant noodles and canned fish, so they forget that vegetables are rich in nutrients. Thus resulting in malnutrition such as Kwashiorkor, marasmus, anemia, goiter, hyponatremia, hypokalemia, and vitamin deficiency. This community service activity is based on empowering village communities through vegetable processing training. This activity aims to convey to the public about the importance of maintaining health by consuming vegetables that are high in vitamins. The result of the activities achieved are very high public interest, the the community knows the nutritional content of vegetables and the community knows how to process various tiger vegetables which are high in vitamins to prevent malnutrition from an early age.

Abstract

One type of sport is performance sports. Achievement can be achieved by several factors. One of them is the nutritional factor. Nutrition is one of the vital and important components to improve the athlete's condition in order to achieve performance maximum and achievement. Nutrition for each sport varies depending on the type of energy used. In Sumenep Regency, athletes and coaches are still confused about sport nutrition and they also don't have experts in the field of sports. Especially in Sumenep regency has a lot of potential for athletes. The aim of this service is to introduce the importance of sport nutrition in improving the condition of athletes. The method used is the teaching method with power point. The result of this introduction is that athletes and coaches understand about nutrition to be able to increase performance levels so that they can achieve maximum performance.
