JIPI (Jurnal IPA dan Pembelajaran IPA) aims to serve original articles on the latest issues and trends in high-quality research focused on technology-integrated science and/or science learning (chemistry, biology, physics, and environment). Technology integration includes learning media, curriculum, assessment processes and science learning outcomes, as well as the application of the latest technology in pure science research. The editors welcome submissions of papers on recent theoretical and experimental research related to: Results of theoretical and empirical research studies on science learning with integrated technology. We invite manuscripts that investigate science learning with the integration of web-based technology, Android, Arduino, nanotechnology, virtual labs, technological and pedagogical content knowledge research, STEM and/or STEAM, sociological issues, virtual reality, augmented reality, and other relevant issues. relevant to science learning. The results of research on the application of science learning media which focuses on studies related to the latest trends in the use of technology-based science learning media at all levels of education and in society. The results of research related to the implementation of the science learning curriculum (chemistry, biology and physics) have contributed to developing the latest trends in the implementation of the science learning curriculum with the integration of technology at all levels of education including science learning design, competency analysis and syllabus. The results of research related to the assessment of science learning processes and outcomes contribute to developing the latest trends in technology-integrated science learning assessment at all levels of education. The results of research related to science teacher education include original theoretical and empirical studies, including professional preparation of teachers, implementation of their work, and/or career development based on the latest technology. Research results related to technology-based science learning in everyday life outside the formal classroom. Papers should examine experiences in environments such as the community, home, internet, museums, and other aspects that develop interest, knowledge, and/or application of science. Science learning that emphasizes attention to aspects of problems and factors related to equality. Research results related to pure science research that is currently trending (chemistry, physics, biology and the environment).

Abstract

Pembelajaran kimia menekankan pada pengalaman belajar secara langsung melalui proses dan sikap ilmiah, dengan demikian perlu diterapkan pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan kemampuan dan keterampilan siswa.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan pembelajaran model inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan quick response code (kode QR) untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains (KPS) dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi hidrolisis garam di SMAN 4 Banda Aceh. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MIPA di  SMA Negeri 4 Banda Aceh. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas XI MIPA2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI MIPA3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment pada dua kelas, dengan bentuk non equivalent control group design. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar penilaian KPS siswa dan soal tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas eksperimen mempunyai KPS yang sangat baik dengan persentase rata-rata 90%, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol masih pada kategori cukup yaitu 43%. Hasil belajar  siswa pada materi hidrolisis garam dengan N-Gain sebesar 73,57%  kelas eksperimen dan 43,37% kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan model inkuiri berbantuan kode QR dapat meningkatkan KPS dan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

 The development of science and technology that affects society has placed scientific literacy as an important concern by governments in various countries in the world, including Indonesia. The Indonesian government also seeks to encourage the improvement of scientific literacy skills in Indonesia. One of them is through the implementation of a curriculum that emphasizes the mastery of science process skills which is one of the elements of scientific literacy. In addition, learning in the 21st century, educators should integrate the use of technology in learning. The use of digital modules with socio scientific issue content is one way to answer these challenges. The purpose of this research is to develop a digital module using content related to scientific social issues that is valid and practical. This type of research is research and development (RD). With this module, it is expected to support the science literation skills of students as prospective biology teachers. The procedure of development module refers to the Alessi Trolip model which consists of three main stages, namely 1) plan, 2) design and 3) development. The validity of the module is assessed by media experts, material experts, and practitioners (lecturers on cell biology courses). Data processing used descriptive data analysis techniques. Based on the results of the analysis of data, the validity of the module from media experts is about 4.75 (valid), material experts amounted to 4.5 (very valid) and the validity value of practitioners amounted to 4.52 (very valid).

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis kualitas buku ajar kimia di SMA/MA Kelas XI Semester 1 yang dihasilkan dalam penelitian ini sehingga memenuhi standar kualitas seperti yang dipersyaratkan oleh BSNP dan sesuai dengan kurikulum 2013. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah guru-guru kimia  di SMA/MA yang ada di Kota Medan, Propinsi Sumatera Utara. Sampel penelitian diambil secara purposive. Pendekatan yang digunakan untuk mencapai tujuan yang telah dirumuskan adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data berupa penilaian kualitas buku diperoleh dari angket yang diberikan pada responden yaitu guru-guru kimia SMA/MA di Kota Medan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan independent sample t-test dengan SPSS 20 for windows pada taraf signifikansi α = 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif berbasis masalah dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Hal ini ditunjukkan dari hasil penelitian yang menunjukkan rata-rata nilai hasil belajar siswa dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif berbasis masalah lebih tinggi dibandingkan rata-rata nilai hasil belajar siswa dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif. Kata Kunci: buku ajar, kurikulum 2013  Abstract. This study aims to analyze the quality of chemistry textbooks in SMA/MA Class XI Semester 1 which is produced in this research so as to meet the quality standards as required by BSNP and in accordance with the curriculum 2013. The population of this research is chemistry teachers in SMA/MA is in the city of Medan, North Sumatra Province. The sample was taken purposively. The approach used to achieve the objectives that have been formulated is qualitative and quantitative descriptive research. Data in the form of book quality assessment obtained from questionnaires given to respondents ie high school chemistry teachers MA in Medan City. Data analysis technique using independent sample t-test with SPSS 20 for windows at significance level α=0,05. The results showed that the problem-based cooperative learning model can improve student learning outcomes. This is shown from the results of research that shows the average value of student learning outcomes with model-based cooperative learning is higher than the average value of student learning outcomes with cooperative learning model.Keyword: textbooks, curriculum 2013

Abstract

Experiments are an essential part of teaching chemistry in schools. Experiments in schools involving corrosion sub-materials currently only focus on determining the factors that affect corrosion. There has been no investigation into corrosion prevention using natural materials. The purpose of this research is to identify chemical competency standards in the corrosion sub-material and evaluate the potential of experimental designs for producing iron corrosion inhibitors from tea extract as an alternative experiment in schools. A qualitative description was used in the research, with data collected through literature studies, laboratory experiments, and interviews. According to the study's findings, there was a link between the experimental stages of making iron corrosion inhibitors from tea extract and the corrosion sub-learning material's outcomes. Tea extract corrosion inhibitor can inhibit the best corrosion rate of 4.10-5 g/cm2.day at 20% inhibitor concentration with 90% inhibition efficiency. Based on an analysis of the financial aspect, it was stated that the experimental design of iron corrosion inhibitors from tea extract required a relatively low cost. In contrast, from the human resource readiness aspect, it was stated that this experimental design could be used as an alternative to chemical experiments based contextually on the corrosion sub-material in schools.

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengembangkan media animasi hukum Newton II tentang gerak pada bidang miring dan katrol, mendeskripsikan kelayakan media animasi hukum Newton II yang dikembangkan baik dari segi kualitas, validitas, berdasarkan masukan para ahli, meminta tanggapan guru dan siswa terhadap media sehingga layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran fisika. Penelitian dilakukan di tiga sekolah kabupaten Aceh Besar (SMAN Modal Bangsa, SMAN 1 Montasik,  dan SMAN 1 Krueng Barona Jaya) menggunakan metode penelitian reasearch and development (R and D) dengan model pengembangan ADDIE.  Hasil pengujian alfa test  menunjukkan bahwa media animasi hukum Newton II tentang gerak pada bidang miring dan katrol sangat baik/layak digunakan sebagai media dari segi validitas. Penilaian kualitas media  dari aspek perangkat lunak, desain pembelajaran, desain media dan aspek komunikasi  secara keseluruhan menunjukkan bahwa media mempunyai kriteria sangat baik dan layak digunakan. Pengujian beta testing yang didasarkan pada hasil uji/tanggapan pengguna oleh guru dan siswa secara keseluruhan memberikan respon positif terhadap media, sehingga media animasi hukum Newton II yang dikembangkan memiliki kriteria sangat baik. Dari hasil penelitian  didapat bahwa kualitas media animasi yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria sangat baik dan layak digunakan sebagai media yang menunjang proses pembelajaran fisika. This research was conducted to develop animation media Newton's second law of motion on an incline and pulley, describes eligibility animation media Newton's second law developed both in terms of quality, validity based on the input of experts, asking for a response of teachers and students to the media so it's worth used in learning physics. The study was conducted in three school districts of Aceh Besar (SMAN Modal Bangsa, SMAN 1 Montasik and SMAN 1 Krueng Barona Jaya) using research methods reasearch and development (R and D) with ADDIE development model. The test results showed that the alpha test animation media Newton's second law of motion on an incline and pulley very good / decent used as a medium in terms of validity. Quality assessment of aspects of the software media, instructional design, media design and communication aspects of the overall show that the media has a very good criteria and fit for use. Testing beta testing based on the test results / user feedback by teachers and students as a whole give a positive response to the media, so the media animation Newton's second law which has developed criteria very well. The result is that the quality of animation media which meet the criteria developed very well and fit for use as a media that support the learning process of physics.Keywords: Media, Animation, Pulleys, Field Leaning, Alpha Test, Beta Test

Abstract

The low students' learning achievement is one of the problems that is occurred in learning process that is caused by the inappropriate learning strategy that was applied in the classroom in delivering the lesson, therefore the expected goal cannot be achieved. Learning in the classroom should be able to guide the students to be more creative and independent through a series of scientific activity. The purpose of this study was to measure the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) models and radical constructivism module on students' learning outcome in the Madrasah Tsanawiyah, Banda Aceh. The data were collected since November 2019 until April 2020. The method used in this study was an experimental method with randomized post-test only control- group design. This research was conducted in two classes: experimental class with PBL model learning with radical constructivism module and the control class with PBL model learning only. The number of samples for this research were 160 students. The samples were chosen through random sampling method by observing the students’ chances in each class and the Madrasah as the experiment and control classes. The objective tests were used as an instrument to measure students' learning outcome. The data were collected through post-test about the pollution of environment. The independent sample t-test was used to test the hypotheses to see the effect of Problem Based Learning (PBL) models and radical constructivism module on students’ learning outcome.  The results analysis based on the outcome learning score was the value of Sig 0,05, t valuet table, 4,741,97. Hence, the students who took part in learning PBL model and radical constructivism module showed significantly better in their learning outcomes compared to students who took part in learning PBL model only.

Abstract

The lack of facilities and infrastructure, both laboratories and projectors, makes teachers rarely use learning media with methods that are still teacher-centered, making students limited in visualizing physical phenomena. This phenomenon has an impact on the difficulty in understanding physics so that their learning outcomes are included in the low category. Researchers in overcoming the problem using animated videos. The purpose of this study was to see the effectiveness of the application of animated videos in improving physics learning outcomes for class XI at SMAN 9 Kendari. This research is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The research sample was determined by purposive sampling technique which was divided into 2 classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The data analysis technique used is the independent sample t-test. The results of the study found that the use of animated video-based learning media was very effective to be applied to the physics learning process as seen from the provision of posttest questions and the gain test value also increased by 0.69 in the experimental class and 0.62 in the control class which was included in the medium category. So it can be concluded that animated video media is effective in improving physics learning outcomes

Abstract

Hakikat IPA merupakan cara berpikir seseorang dalam memahami konsep-konsep ilmiah melalui metode ilmiah dengan berbagai tahapan dan metodologi yang sistematis sehingga dapat menghasilkan temuan atau ilmu pengetahuan, oleh sebab itu pentingnya pemahaman NOS dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perspektif mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar (PGSD) tentang pemahaman hakikat IPA atau nature of science (NoS) di era digital. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah deskriptif dengan metode survei. Sampel dari penelitian ini 61 orang mahasiswa PGSD yang berasal dari 27 responden Universitas Kuningan dan 34 responden Universitas Syiah Kuala. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah teknik acak. Instumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian berupa angket yang berisi 28 item pernyataan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum rata-rata tanggapan mahasiswa PGSD terhadap NoS di era digital memberikan tanggapan yang baik, hal ini ditunjukkan dengan memperoleh 68% berada pada kategori baik. Agar mahasiswa PGSD memiliki pemahaman NoS di era digital yang lebih baik maka hendaknya pendalaman konsep tentang hakikat IPA era digital menjadi prioritas dalam pembelajaran IPA di Perguruan Tinggi.

Abstract

Measuring the ability of teachers is part of the evaluation in the national education system. The development of the instrument in the form of essay questions has become an alternative because the instrument is considered to have better authenticity than the form of multiple choice questions. The implications of using the essay instrument were scored consistency and efficient resources. The purpose of this study was to examine the inter-rater reliability between the automated essay scoring system and human raters in measuring teachers’ knowledge using the essay instrument. The research was conducted randomly with 200 junior high school science teachers. The quantitative method design was applied to investigate the intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) and Pearson's correlation (r) as indicators of the ability of automated essay scoring (UKARA) that had been used. The main data in this study were test answers from participants in the form of limited essay answers that have been distributed online. The inter-rater reliability coefficient between the UKARA and the human rater in this study was in the high category (more than 0.7) for all items or means that the score given by UKARA has a strong correlation with the score given by human rater. These results mean that UKARA has adequate capability as an automated essay scoring system on the measurement of science teacher knowledge.

Abstract

Students' ability to think contextually is still not optimal. The ability to think contextually is essential for students to have in helping to understand good learning by linking the surrounding environment. Based on a preliminary study conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Jetis Ponorogo, students' ability to think contextually is still relatively low, namely an average of 68. Therefore, it is necessary to apply innovative learning models such as the SAVI learning model (somatic, auditory, visual, and intellectual) with recitation strategies. The SAVI learning model (somatic, auditory, visual and intellectual) can make students more active because the learning process integrates all senses. This study uses a quantitative approach to the type of experimental research. The research design used is a true experimental design with a posttest only control design. The population in this study was class VIII at SMPN 1 Jetis Ponorogo with a total of 8 classes. The sample in this study was selected using purposive sampling, namely class VIII E and class VIII G. This study used a descriptive test as an instrument for data collection. The results of this study are that the SAVI learning model is effective on students' contextual thinking skills at SMP Negeri 1 Jetis Ponorogo which is characterized by the one-tailed t-test results which produce a p-value of 0.000 less than alpha (0.05) which indicates that the experimental class's ability to think contextually with an average higher than the control class. The average value of the experimental class was 88.3, while the control class obtained an average value of 69.0
