Abstract

The purposes of this research are, (1) To determine the internal and external factors which influence students learning difficulty in computer skills and management information courses at the tenth (X) grade students of administrative offices class, SMK Negeri 1 Surakarta in the 2011/2012 school period (2) To determine the most dominant factors both internal and external which influence students learning difficulty in computer skills and management information courses at the tenth (X) grade students of administrative offices class, SMK Negeri 1 Surakarta in the 2011/2012 school period (3) To know the efforts used in  overcoming the students learning difficulty and progressive actions in order to make the courses run effectively.The result of this research are (1) Internal factors that affect students' learning difficulty can be seen from the physiological and psychological factors. Physiological factors that student health is not always healthy and the disabled body minus the eye disorder, whereas psychological factors, namely the level of student intelligence, talents, interests, motivation, mental health, and particular types of learning.  Furthermore, external factors that affect students' learning difficulty can be seen from the factor of family, school, mass media and social environment.  Family factor are parental controls for children's learning is low, the atmosphere tends to crowded houses, and family economic situation is lacking. Factors that school facilities provided by the school especially the computers were damaged, and the time that school discipline is still low.  Factor of social media and the intensity of students' access to the mass media too often and less supportive social environment. (2) Internal factors are the most dominant in influencing students' learning difficulties is the talent where supported the student's skills. The most dominant external factors influencing student learning difficulties is the mass media, when the student's learning time is use for enjoying media. (3) The work done to overcome the learning difficulties of students and the progressive step to streamline the learning includes the pre, process, and post. Preparation of the pre-form of learning in which teachers prepare the syllabus and Learning Implementation Plan. Stage of the process in the form of providing guidance that does not cause confusion of students, encouraging students to participate actively in the class, motivating students, and focus on the learning process. Stage in the form of a post is make a remedial for students who got difficulties in the learning process. Key words: internal factor, external factor, learning disabilities

Abstract

Abstract: The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) whether or not there is a significant effect of the peer group?s friendship (X1) on the learning motivation (Y) of the students in Grade X; (2) whether or not there is a significant effect of the parents? attention (X2) on the learning motivation (Y) of the students in Grade X; and (3) whether or not there is a simultaneously significant effect between the peer group?s friendship and the parents? attention on the learning motivation of the students in Grade X. This research used the descriptive quantitative research method. The population of the research was all of the students in Grade X as many as 80 students. The samples of the research was 60% or 48 out of 80 students, and were taken by using the proportional random sampling technique. The data of the research were gathered through questionnaire and documentation. They were then analyzed statistically by using the correlation and multiple regression analysis. The results of the research are as follows: (1) there is a significant effect of the peer group?s friendship (X1) on the learning motivation (Y) of the students in Grade X; (2) there is a significant effect of the parents? attention (X2) on the learning motivation (Y) of the students in Grade X; and (3) there is a simultaneously significant effect between the peer group?s friendship and the parents? attention on the learning motivation of the students in Grade X. The multiple linear regression equation is ? = -7.639 + 0.437 X1 + 0.586 X2. The relative contribution of X1 to Y is 24.58%, but that of X2 to Y is 75.42%. In addition, the effective contribution of X1 to Y is 11.71% whereas that of X2 to Y is 35.93%. Keywords: Peer group, parents? attention, motivation.

Abstract

Abstract: The purposes of this study were to know the implementation of office supplies management of Rec-Cross (PMI) of Surakarta, the problems, and the solutions to overcome that problems. Used a qualitative approach, the result of research showed that PMI Surakarta implemented the functions of office supplies management to managed their supplies. But, in the practice, got problems with limited human resources and too many functions of warehouse and office management. The efforts to overcome those problems included : empowering the industry apprenticeship?s students and Household employees, coping with over functions by asking for help from other staff and by holding training concerning the instrument use and maintenance, coping with the narrow warehouse and its location in the same room with the office by utilizing the existing vertical room, coping with supply release that was not consistent with the predetermined method by guiding activity accurately and rechecking immediately the stock recording and supply, coping with Staff of Logistic and Inventory division who did not have time to rearrange the warehouse after supply releasing by empowering the industry apprenticeship?s students, coping with virus problem delayed data finding and making report by calling the officers to scan the virus, and coping with roof damage by temporarily solution by putting a rainwater container.   Keywords : analysis, supplies management, Red-Cross

Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research are (1) to find out the implementation of School Operational Grant in SMP Negeri 3 Pracimantoro in the school year of 2013/2014; (2) to understand the factors affecting the effectiveness of the implementation of School Operational Grant in SMP Negeri 3 Pracimantoro in the school year of 2013/2014; (3) to identify constraints and problems faced in the implementation of School Operational Grant in SMP Negeri 3 Pracimantoro in the school year of 2013/2014; and (4) to find out the solution to the problems in the implementation of School Operational Grant in SMP Negeri 3 Pracimantoro in the school year of 2013/2014.Considering the result of research, the following conclusions could be drawn. (1) In the implementation of School Operational Grant in SMP Negeri 3 Pracimantoro, there were some procedures taken by the school: planning, acting, supervising, evaluating, and reporting. (2) The Factors affecting the effectiveness of the implementation of School Operational Grant in SMP Negeri 3 Pracimantoro referred to the School Budget and Expenditure Income Budget (RAPBS) and BOS Technical Instruction (Juknis). (3) The constraints faced in the implementation of School Operational Grant in SMP Negeri 3 Pracimantoro included internal and external ones. Internal constraints included: a) employee expenditure was limited to maximum 20% of total BOS revenue; b) many student activities funded by BOS so that the fund had not been adequate yet; c) BOS supplementary fund revenue has not been adequate for a year need; d) The activities to improve the quality of teacher such as short course, workshop, technical guide, seminar and BOS fund allocation had not been adequate. The external constraints included: a) Building and road maintenance costs were very high because of labile geographical condition; b) weak social economic condition of parents; c) inadequate learning supporting media in classroom; d) low output of National Standardized Semester Final Examination Score for Elementary School. (4) The solution to deal with the problems in the implementation of School Operational Grant in SMP Negeri 3 Pracimantoro consisted of the solution for internal and the one for external constraints. Solutions to internal constraints were: a) percentage employee expenditure in BOS program should be increased; b) the school was allowed to receive voluntary contribution from students? parent; c) BOS supplementary fund was increased; d) the activity of improving the teacher quality was limited to or funded with personal fund from the teacher. The solution to external constraints included: a) DAK or blockgrant was required annually; b) the government should open job opportunities and provide productive economic improvement for the poor; c) there should be a special fund aid for procuring the learning media in classroom; d) there should be an improvement of education quality at Elementary School level.Keywords: Implementation, School Operational Grant

Abstract

The  research aims at  investigating:  (1) whether  there  is a  significant effect on physical classroom  environment  towards  the  learning  motivation  of  Grade  XI  Students  of  Office Administration  Skill  Competence  at  SMK  Negeri  I  Sukoharjo  (Vocational  School  I  Sukoharjo)  in Academic Year of 2013/2014; (2) whether there is a significant effect on parents? support towards the  learning motivation of Grade  XI  Students of Office Administration  Skill Competence at  SMK Negeri  I Sukoharjo  (Vocational School  I Sukoharjo)  in Academic Year of 2013/2014;  (3) whether there  is  a  significant  effect  on  physical  classroom  environment  and  parents?  support comprehensively  towards  the  learning motivation of Grade XI Students of Office Administration Skill Competence at SMK Negeri  I Sukoharjo (Vocational School  I Sukoharjo)  in Academic Year of 2013/2014.This  research?s  design  is  descriptive  quantitative.  The  population  of  the  research  is  72 students  of  Grade  XI  Students  of  Office  Administration  Skill  Competence  at  SMK  Negeri  I Sukoharjo (Vocational School I Sukoharjo) in Academic Year of 2013/2014. The samples which are taken by applying Simple Random sampling  technique are 43 students. Questionnaire  is used  to do  the data collecting method, and statistical  test with Double Regression Analysis  is applied as the data analysis technique.The  results  of  the  research  are:  (1)  there  is  a  significant  effect  on  physical  classroom environment  towards  the  learning motivation of Grade XI Students of Office Administration Skill Competence  at  SMK  Negeri  I  Sukoharjo  (Vocational  School  I  Sukoharjo)  in  Academic  Year  of 2013/2014.  It  is proved by the result of rcount > rtable or 0.430 > 0.310 on significance value of 5%. The  relative  contribution  is  29.40%  and  the  effective  contribution  is  6.19%;  (2)  there  is  a significant effect on parents? support towards  learning motivation of Grade XI Students of Office Administration  Skill  Competence  at  SMK  Negeri  I  Sukoharjo  (Vocational  School  I  Sukoharjo)  in Academic  Year  of  2013/2014.  It  is  proved  by  the  result  of  rcount  >  rtable  or  0.430  >  0.310  on significance  value  of  5%.  The  relative  contribution  is  70.60%  and  the  effective  contribution  is 14.87%;  (3)  there  is a significant effect on physical classroom environment and parents? support comprehensively  towards  the  learning motivation of Grade  XI Students of Office Administration Skill Competence at SMK Negeri  I Sukoharjo (Vocational School  I Sukoharjo)  in Academic Year of 2013/2014. It is proved by the result of Fcount > Ftable or 9.794 > 3.23 on significance value of 5%.From the result of the statistical count, it is known that the linear regression ? = 27.998 + 0.344 X1 + 0.319 X2 which means the learning motivation (Y) will increase or decrease as much as 0.344  for  each  increase  or  decrease  of  a  unit  of  class  physical  environment  (X1)  and  also will increase or decrease as much as 0.319 for each increase of decrease of a unit of parents? support (X2).  Keywords: class physical environment, parents? support, learning motivation

Abstract

ABSTRACT  The objective of research was to find out: (1) how the Marketing Communication Strategy is in increasing the number of consumers in Solo Grand Mall, (2) the factors encouraging the Marketing Communication Strategy undertaking in Solo Grand Mall, (3) the constraints in Marketing Communication Strategy in Solo Grand Mall, and (4) the attempts taken to cope with the constraints in Marketing Communication Strategy in Solo Grand Mall.This study employed a qualitative research, with descriptive method, and single embedded research strategy. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique. The data sources used in this research were informant, place or event, place or location, document or archive. Techniques of collecting data used were interview, observation, documentation, and library study. The data validation was conducted using data and method triangulations. Technique of analyzing data used was a flowing interactive analysis.Considering the result of research, it could be concluded that: (1) the marketing communication strategy in Solo  Grand Mall could be divided into 2 stages: (a) Planning by conducting SWOT analysis and determining the Strategy, Targeting and Positioning, (b) implementation by conducting marketing communication mix including advertising, sales promotion, event, and public relations. (2) The factors encourage the performance of marketing communication activity in Solo Grand Mall included: (a) to increase the number of visitors as the competitor?s malls emerge, (b) to look for profit for the company, (c) to help tenant in selling product, (d) to improve the company?s image. (3) The constraints in performing the marketing communication activity in Solo  Grand Mall included: (a) technical constraints, (b) internal communication disconnection because of individual preoccupation, (c) the consumer?s less interesting in event or activity held, (d) creative idea should be raised to create something that can attract the consumer?s interest, (e) limited bureaucracy in event organization, (f) sneaky hands that damaged the outdoor media, (g) less clear event schedule. (4) The attempts taken to deal with the constraints occurring in the implementation of marketing communication activity included: (a) to keep improving in order to deal with the technical constraints, (b) to hold coordination meeting, (c) to make an evaluation on each activity conducted, (d) to broaden the insight and knowledge about marketing mix, (e) to maturate the event planning, (f) to reinforce the Corporate Social Responsibility in order to improve the company?s image, (g) to keep conforming to the event organizers.Keywords: Strategy, Communication, Marketing, Solo Grand Mall

Abstract

ABSTRACT The objectives of this research are to investigate: 1) the effect of the learning process in school toward student work readiness in the XII Grade of the Department of Office Administration of State Vocational High School 6 of Surakarta; 2) To know the effect of field practice work to the student work readiness in the XII Grade of the Department of Office Administration of State Vocational High School 6 of Surakarta; 3) the effect of the learning process in school and practicing field work as together to the student work readiness in the XII Grade of the Department of Office Administration of State Vocational High School 6 of Surakarta. This research was conducted at State Vocational High School 6 of Surakarta and is a survey that is to explain the phenomenon (explanatory research), so this research includes quantitative research. Technique of collecting data used questionnaires technique as the primary data source and documentation studies technique as a secondary data source. Analysis data technique used regression linear multiple analysis, t-test and F-test and the Determination Coefficient. Based on statistical tests was the results of the research are as follows: (1) Test results obtained tcount = 5,185 > ttable = 2,000, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means as individual the variable process of learning in school have an positive and significant effect toward the student work readiness in the XII Grade Of the Department of Office Administration of State Vocational High School 6 of Surakarta. (2) Based on the calculation, obtained tcount = 3,495 > ttable = 2,000  then Ho is rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted. This means as individual variable of practicing field work as together toward the student work readiness in the XII Grade of the Department of Office Administration of State Vocational High School 6 of Surakarta. (3) The test results are positive and significant effect of learning process in schools and job training together toward student work readiness in the XII Grade of the Department of Office Administration of State Vocational High School 6 of Surakarta when consulted with SPSS tables, known amount of Fstatistik = 20,981. Whereas if consulted with 5% significance value was obtained 0,000 < 0,05, so it can be concluded jointly independent variable (learning process in schools and job training) the affect job readiness student in the XII Grade Of the Department of Office Administration of State Vocational High School 6 of Surakarta. Keywords: learning process in schools, job training, job readiness students

Abstract

The aims of the study were to find: (1) if there was significant effect of internship practical work toward the soft skills mastery of the eleventh grade students of the Office and Administration Department of SMK Islam Al Hikmah Mayong Jepara; (2) if there was significant effect of the students? organizing motivation towards their soft skills mastery; (3) if there was significant effect of both internship practical work and students? organizing motivation toward their soft skills mastery. This study was a quantitative study applying descriptive method. Its population was the eleventh grade students of the Office and Administration Department of SMK Islam Al Hikmah Mayong Jepara in the year of 2012. Its sample was taken through probability sampling is simple random sampling using lottery. It was 37 students of 58 population. The data were collected by distributing questionnaire and documentation. The data were then analyzed by using the technique of double regression analysis, the linear equation of which was ? = 3,422 + 0,293 + 0,430. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that: (1) there was a positive significant effect of internship practical work toward the soft skills mastery. This was indicated by the value of > or 0,466 > 0,325, in addition by the value of > or 2,886 > 2,042 in the level of significance 5%; (2) there was a positive significant effect of their organizing motivation toward their soft skills mastery. This could be proved by the value of > or 0,448 > 0,325, in addition by the value of > or 2,727 > 2,042 in the level of significance 5%; and (3) there was a positive significant manner together effect of both the internship practical work and students? organizing motivation toward their soft skills mastery. It was shown by the value of > or 9,470 > 3,33 in the level of significane 5%. The relative contribution of internship practical work ) toward the soft skills mastery (Y) was 52,4% and the one of the organizing motivation ) toward their soft skills mastery (Y) was 47,6%. The relative contribution of the internship practical work ) toward their? soft skills mastery (Y) was 18,8% and their organizing motivation ) toward their soft skills mastery (Y) was 17 %.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to investigate: (1) whether or not there is a simultaneous and partial effect of the factors of salaries, employments, career promotions, supervisors, and co-workers on the work satisfaction with the financial compensation as the moderator variable; (2) which factors have the dominant effect on the the work satisfaction with the financial compensation as the moderator variable. This research used the quantitative descriptive research method. The samples of the research were all of the employeesasa many as 50 empployees. The data of the research were gathered through questionnaire and documentation. They were then analyzed by using the multiple regression analysis aided by the computer program of SPSS 17.The results of the research show there is a simultaneous effect of all the variables and not all of the variables have a partial effect on the work satisfaction with the financial compensation as the moderator variable. Variable of career promotions has the dominant effect on the work satisfaction with the financial compensation as the moderator variable.

Abstract

Abstract: The aims of this research are to investigate the compensation system applied by PT. Kusumahadi Santosa weaving department on production division, and also to investigate the role of compensation on improving work motivation. This research was descriptive study used qualitative approach. The kind of research used was case study with one-pile strategy. The sources of the data were got from the informants, places and events, and also documents and archives. The researcher used purposive sampling and snowball sampling technique. The techniques of collecting data were interview, observation and documentation. The validity of the data was trianggulation of sources and method. The technique of analyzing the data was interactive analysis where the data reduction, data presentation and the drawing of the conclusion were related one each other. The result shows that the compensation system applied by PT. Kusumahadi Santosa is good. Whereas, the implementation of this system is included the purpose of compensation, kinds of compensation, compensation methods, basic principle of compensation-given, and the factors influence the compensation-given. Beside, The role of compensation system applied by PT. Kusumahadi Santosa had been well and proper. It supports of employee?s motivation improvement.   Key words: role, employee compensation, work motivation
