Abstract

The Pancasila Student Profile project at SMA Negeri 3 Cimahi is examined in this study to illustrate how project-based learning and civic education can be combined to increase high school students' awareness of cultural diversity. The study examines the project's implementation and its effects on students' character development using qualitative research techniques like observation, interviews, and document analysis. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 3 Cimahi in the January 2022/2023 school year with grade X high school students carrying out Project learning. The results demonstrate how the Pancasila Student Profile project offers a strong foundation for promoting student variety, tolerance, and respect for different values crucial for molding their character to embrace global diversity. By allowing students to apply their knowledge and abilities to actual problems, the project also fosters the ability to think critically and solve problems. The study highlights how crucial it is for teachers to get support and training to include civic education in project-based learning. Students can experience character improvement through Project learning by applying the values of the ability to work together and tolerance for other learning outcomes. Teachers may establish a supportive learning environment that supports students' character development by being given the necessary tools and resources. The study's findings have significant ramifications for practitioners and educational policymakers who want to strengthen students' character development and prepare them for the difficulties of living in a diverse and globalized environment.

Abstract

This study was conducted because researchers found problems in children's cognition where, after almost two years of online learning, students need to adapt to face-to-face learning. Therefore, in the current offline learning, children are expected to think logically and reason according to their abilities at their age with stimulation in the real world. This study aims to determine the effect of self-regulation on critical thinking skills and the relationship pattern between the two. This study used a mixed-method approach with a sequential exploratory design. The independent variable is self-regulation, and the dependent variable is critical reasoning ability. The results showed that there was an effect of self-regulation on critical reasoning ability based on the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with a significance value 0.05, and self-regulation can be strengthened by children through collaborative activities and fostering critical reasoning as indicated by the skill of developing transcripts based on children's reasoning obtained based on observations and interviews. It can be concluded that based on the results of qualitative analysis, quantitative analysis results, and analysis of relevant research results, it can be interpreted that, in general, the results of qualitative and quantitative analysis, as well as literature review, deepen and strengthen each other, so that information is obtained that there is an effect of self-regulation on the achievement of critical reasoning skills significantly.

Abstract

Verbal linguistic intelligence is part of multiple intelligence, which must be developed early. This study explores using Duolingo to develop verbal-linguistic intelligence in learning English for elementary school students. This study was conducted through a literature study to describe the use of Duolingo based on the exposure of several experts and on supporting reference studies that have been carried out. Duolingo is a language learning application that can be accessed online, making it easier for students to learn English in the classroom and outside of learning activities. Duolingo has many easy-to-use features and is designed to be fun to learn. In the Duolingo application, there is a skill tree to describe each task to be carried out, such as understanding basic phrases, expressing common phrases, discussing food, naming animals, using plurals, expressing ownership, using object pronouns, discussing clothes, recognizing present verbs, naming color, ask questions and other skill trees. Based on the literature review conducted, it shows that Duolingo allows students to have more learning opportunities both online and offline. The characteristics of Duolingo that contain simple games can help students develop English linguistic verbal intelligence, including writing, reading, speaking, and listening skills, as well as vocabulary mastery.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the basic arithmetic addition of third-grade students in learning mathematics using the top method. This research was motivated by the low results of the multiplication basic arithmetic test in grade 3 SD IT Alam Nurul Islam, so it did not meet the target. The method used is a class action research method with data collection techniques, namely test instruments and documentation. This research was conducted in two cycles, namely cycle I and cycle II, each cycle consisting of the stages of planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The subjects in this study were class III students of SD IT Alam Nurul Islam, with a total of 28 people. The selection of the class as the sample in this study is purposive sampling. After that, quantitative analysis was carried out on the data obtained from the pretest and posttest results on the multiplication basic arithmetic test. The data is then averaged and calculated using the minimum completeness criteria. Based on the results and discussion in this study, several conclusions were obtained, including 1) there are differences in the results of calculating the multiplication basis for class III SD IT Alam Nurul Islam before and after the top method is applied, 2) experienced an increase after the GASING method was applied. The results of the study, from pre-cycle, cycle I to cycle I, showed that the average value of the pretest results for class III SD IT Alam Nurul Islam was 63.0. After the GASING method was used, the average posttest score in cycle I increased to 63.0 and then increased to 77.7 in cycle II. In addition, by applying the top method in learning multiplication, 1-10 basic arithmetic runs optimally. It can be seen from the activeness of students with the methods that have been applied.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the process of implementing an independent curriculum at the learning planning stage based on the results of diagnostic assessments in realizing learning outcomes that are in accordance with the needs and characteristics of students. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data collection techniques were conducted through literature studies and interviews with two resource persons. The data analysis technique used an interactive model, which according to Miles and Hubermen through data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. The results showed that the implementation of an independent curriculum through the implementation of diagnostic assessments was less than optimal in achieving learning objectives due to various factors, so the implementation of an independent curriculum currently still requires regular socialization, training, and assistance from every education stakeholder from both the government and the community.
