Abstract

PEMITRA service activities in the kecamatan Sawahan kabupaten Nganjuk, had conducted educational activities, training, and mentoring for elementary school teachers, principals, supervisors and the person in charge of Math Masters Zone program to improve the basic concepts of mathematics and its teaching method. In this Pemitra conducted training activities learning methods of Math Masters, so that teachers had  an understanding  and basic  mathematical concepts  were true,  and instructed it so easy and fun to their students. In the implementation of this Pemitra service activities, had given results and achievements were very enjoyable because math test scores elementary school students in the kecamatan Sawahan on the 2013/2014  school  year  had  average  to  8.5  and  the  highest  value  reached  10.0.  Math Olympiad  activities  also quite  lively, as  students becomed  more enthusiastic  andexcited. Based on indicators of progress and this proves that the method Math Master who had been introduced by the Executive Team Pemitra, had helped to solve problems Numeric  Phobia  for  elementary  school  students  in  the  kecamatan  Sawahan. Mathematics was considered subjects which so easy and very fun by the students.Constraints and problems still be faced today is the support and consistency of Nganjuk government has not been consistent in developing subdistrict Sawahan as Math Master Zone.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service, assess and understand; 1) learning implementation strategy IPS (Social Sciences) Curriculum 2013 based on lesson study in  the  School of  Muhammadiyah  Kartasura.  2)  Rationalization  and  elements  of curriculum change in 2013. 3) The process of learning and assessment processes appropriate to the curriculum in 2013. The method used; workshops and training. The Place; SMK Muhammadiyah Kartasura. Execution time; odd semester 2014/2015. Subject: Elementary School teachers, Junior High School, High School and Vocational High School Muhammadiyah Kartasura. The results achieved; 1) learning implementation strategy IPS (Social Sciences) curriculum-based lesson study 203 through  three  stages, namely;  plan  (planning),  do  (action  and  observation),  see (reflection).  2) Rationalization and elements of curriculum change in 2013 stressed on; a) The scientific approach is based approach to encourage student creativity; b)Integrity of the competence of knowledge, skills, and attitudes; c) Integrity of the curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. 3) The learning process is emphasized in the curriculum in 2013; (A) Integrated Thematic for elementary school level, (b) Approach Science (Natural Sciences) and IPS (Social Sciences) of partitive aggregative be integrated melt (liquid integrative), (c) religious and moral education, (d) learning objects; natural phenomena, social, and cultural arts. While the emphasisin  the assessment  process; assessment  student  achievement  by  using  descriptive qualitative and quantitative numerical. Learning implementation strategy IPS (Social Sciences) 203 curriculum-based lesson study using a modified model of lesson study, achievement indicators for a significant increase from the prior worhshop and trainingafter the workshop, namely; 30%: 80% (pre-test: post-test).

Abstract

Kindergarten children is a phase of school children. School children phase generally  have  better  condition  than  children  under  five  years,  because  many government programs can be targeted at these groups, that one of them is the UKS programs  (Program  Usaha  Kesehatan  Sekolah),  but  the  program  has  not  been prevalent at kindergarten school generally. A frequent problem faced by the children of this phase is difficult to eat, especially vegetables because they do not have a sweet taste. There are a variety of nutritional conditions that are unsatisfactory at schoolchildren, for example, less weight, iron deficiency anemia, a deficiency of vitamin C, and in certain areas also lack of jodium. Lack of vegetables are things that can cause vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Authors do counseling about the importance of vegetables  for  children  in  kindergarten  Aisyiyah,  Kwadungan,  Trowangsan, Malangjiwan, Colomadu to convey the importance of vegetables so that the parents have a stronger effort to encourage their children to consume vegetables. Counseling is done by the power point media and done interactively. Authors gave pre-test andpost-test regarding knowledge about the importance of vegetables. There were prizes for the highest score of the post-test to attract participants. Paired samples t test was performed with the result that there was a significant increase in knowledge (p =0.000) in the parents.

Abstract

In the Pemitra community service activities for development cleaner farming in Desa Ngunut Kecamatan Jumantono kabupaten Karanganyar, has been done for directing activities, training, and mentoring for farmers of cattle and chickens in Desa Ngunut, Jumantono, Karanganyar. In this Pemitra activities have been conductedbriefings and training on producing of liquid and solid organic fertilizer, planting cassava  and  sengon  by  utilizing  manure,  the  introduction  of  biogas  technology applications on cattle ranchers. The results that have been obtained from this Pemitra community activities that partners have been able to understand and have the skills for managing livestock clean the biogas technology applications, the use of probiotics or fermentator in farm management, made of solid and liquid organic fertilizer, as well as the use of organic fertilizer for agricultural development cassava and sengon. The constraints and problems had been faced by the partners were 1) lack of farmer groups  that have  organizational unity  in designing,  managing, implementing  and evaluating the work program. So that the unity and continuity in performing community service activities can not be done well, 2) Most of the participants were active inpemitra was the village officials and their family, so not much give a breadth of benefits to the general public.

Abstract

Recently the condition of agriculture in Indonesia needs to be addressed. Soil fertility getting damaged due to chemical fertilizer that is not impartial. In addition, the impact of excessive use of synthetic pesticides can cause damage to the ecosystem. Control of plant diseases using biological agents began getting attention because of public concerns due to the use of synthetic chemical pesticides. Biological agents are microorganisms,  both  naturally  occurring  such  as  bacteria,  fungi,  viruses  and protozoa, as well as the results of genetic engineering that are used to control plantpests. Madrasah Diniyah Jumapolo, Karanganyar, has pioneered the manufacture of biological agents to support organic farming although on a small scale. Community service activities undertaken to provide assistance in the improvement of the production process  and  management  improvements.  The  technology  developed  is  the  use  ofbiological pesticides agent isolated from Beauveria bassiana and Trichoderma sp. As a natural insecticide and fungicide. The activities received support from the madrasa and expressed successfully produce biological agents in the proper packaging. In addition to the consumption of madrasa and nearby farmers, pesticide product ofbiological agents is also sold to the public. The selling of products will increase the development of organic farming to produce healthy food also will gain additional income for the madrasa.

Abstract

This public service has aim to give knowledge for the MIM’s teachers in Matesih subregency about the curriculum of 2013 paradigm, continued profession development, and the lesson plan development based on the curriculum of 2013. The strategies used to pursue the goals were: (1) discussion: in the beginning of the activities, all ofthe  participants were  seated in  a room  to get  the knowledge  of curriculum  2013 paradigm and the continued profession development. After the presentation delivered by the speaker has finished, the participants conducted the discussion with the speaker related to the knowledge which had not been understood yet; (2) the lesson planworkshop: after the discussion finished, the participants were divided into two groups. The division of the groups  based on the class grade, they were class  1, 2, and 3 belonging to the first group while the class 4, 5, and 6 were belonging to the second group. Every group was guided by an instructure to give gudance for the participantsto understand the lesson plan format based on the curriculum of 2013 and asked to practice  the  lesson  plaan arranging.  The result  of  the  competitive social  service program (PAKOM) for the MIM’s teachers in Matesih subregency can be stated as successful. The indication was the target reached e.i. 100% of the teachers couldconstruct the lesson plan based on the curriculum of 2013.

Abstract

The village has a population Eromoko Pucung in District 444 families (2,354 people) which includes 7 hamlet, in the dry season is always a shortage of clean water for daily use. At the peak of the dry season are forced to buy water being sold privately at a price of Rp200,000 / car tank (volume 4 m³) for the use of approximately 20  days.  In  order to  overcome the  problems of  water  needs,  the Pucung  Village Government took the initiative to manage groundwater resources that exist in the Suruh Cave. Removal activities river water underground community empowerment aimed at utilization of underground water in the Cave Have to solving the problem ofwater supply daily needs of society in Pucung Village, District Eromoko, Wonogiri. The success of water removal program is expected to reduce the price of 1 m³ water needs of the original with a maximum price of Rp 50,000 to Rp 5,000 only.

Abstract

The aims of service on social through the on air broadcast of RRI Surakarta were to: (1) improve the understanding of teachers of Bahasa Indonesia toward the Bahasa Indonesia learning program based on texts; (2) enrich the knowledge of the listeners, especially for the students in which the learning of bahasa Indonesia based on the curriculum 2013; (3) create the close work relation of institution between the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta and the government instituion i.e. Radio of Indonesian  Republic  of  Surakarta. The  soacial  service  was conducted  in RRI  of Surakarta, in the form of lecturing in an on-air broadcast, based on the paper which had been prepared  before. The on-air broadcast activities were  conducted by the recording before broadcasted. The recording process used the facilities in RRI of Surakarta guided by workers of RRI of Surakarta, both the responsibility and the recording process. The activities were conducted by on-air broaadcast. Every time the on-air broadcast was conducted by the speaker in which the topics were varies but, they were still on one theme. The on-air broadcast theme on the next three month is “The Improvement of Understanding the Learning of Bahasa Indonesia based on Texts of the Curriculum 2013 through the guiding on-air broadcast of Bahasa Indonesia in RRI of Surakarta”. The six times on-air broadcast activities which planned for three months, could be conducted six times of the new on-air broadcast.

This is the approach of community service workshops, training and mentoring learning of Social Sciences, Natural Sciences based integrated thematic curriculum, 2013. The participants of Master of Social Sciences, Natural Sciences in SD Muhammadiyah Kartasura, His place in the School of Muhammadiyah Kartasura. The result of this devotion implementation; 1) Training of primary school teachers of Social Sciences, Natural Sciences based integrated thematic curriculum in 2013 with a scientific approach, using techniques to observe, to question, to reason, to try and form a network, and implemented with the collaboration system, using the three steps of the learning; introductory, core and cover. 2) To improve the professional skills of primary school teachers of Social Sciences, Natural Sciences based integrated thematic curriculum in 2013 with a scientific approach, using cooperative learning model learning with instructionalstrategies PBL (Problem Based Learning), DCL (descovery Learning), Jigsaw. Third this learning strategy, capable of creating a class to become a haven for students, namely; happy atmosphere for learners in the following study. This learning strategies,can improve learning achievement, namely; No increase in the value pretest to posttestvalues, namely: pretest values> 60 = 50%: postes values> 69 = 100%. 3) The resultingmodel of training primary school teachers of Social Sciences, Natural Sciences basedintegrated thematic curriculum in 2013 is a model mentoring based learning lesson study, with three stages (plan-do-see).

Abstract

The objective of this community serves is to give a workshop to English teachers using cooperative learning method in particular the techniques of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD), Team-Games-Tournaments (TGT) andJigsaw STAD. This activity is also to enhance the quality of teachers in language teaching method in the class. Cooperative learning is teaching method using small group which provide students to help each other to discuss and understand lessons given by their teacher. The subject of this activity is English teachers of Muhammadiyah Senior High Schools, and Muhammadiyah Vocational schools in Surakarta. The output of this activity is participants understand and master the techniques that trained to them during the workshop. The teachers perceived that this activity is positive and very beneficial for them. They intended to implement those teaching techniques in their real English classroom.
