Abstract

Abstract

Badung Regency is a rapidly development area in Bali Province that caused by highly human activities. This development can be seen from the character of settlements in the are. Badung regency is divided into 3 development areas namely North Badung (sub-District Petang and Abiansemal), Middle Badung (sub-District Mengwi) and South Badung (sub-District Kuta Selatan, Kuta and Kuta Utara). The survey results on biophysical factors such as vegetation, land use, landforms and human factors i.e. land boundaries, patterns, infrastructure, and regional policy show that there are some different unique characteristics between these 3 development areas in Badung Regency. In general, landscapes of settlement in the North Badung are composed of linear housing along the main road but between houses tend to be separated by plantation area. Landscapes of settlement in the Middle Badung, consist of clustered housing along the road, with small access to the back of the house (rice fields) while, houses along the main road in the South Badung are shophouses and the residents' houses are clustered linear along small alley.

Abstract

Almost all communities in Salopa Sub district are trying to raise livestock from native chickens, because free-range chicken is a very important component for people's lives. The purpose of the paper is to find out the increase in economic value of (poor households) RTM through the work program of the Ministry of Agriculture, IAARD, Animal Research Institute. The study used a survey of 54 RTM/farmer fard Mandalahayu Village 27 RTM/farmer and Mandalawangi Village 27 RTM/farmer. Primary data and secondary data are analyzed descriptively, quantitatively and economically. The results showed that the income of RTM/farmer in Mandalahayu Village was IDR.2.480.000/period with B/C ratio of 1.08 and in the village of Mandalawangi as much IDR.2.510.000/period with B/C ratio of 1.10. It can be said that the effort to enlarge DOC of chicken in RTM is not economically feasible. But if for a side business, savings and time fillers, it can be said to be feasible, because chickens can be sold as a source of sudden needs for farmers. The program works by the Ministry of Agriculture, expected to alleviate poverty, carry out agricultural development harmonization, so that farmers' income increases and poverty rates continue to be reduced or reduced

Abstract

Infrastructure development and ProRLK (deforested Land Rehabilitation Project) a Government of Indonesia collaboration prpject with The German Technical Coorperation Agency (GTZ) in 1992, has shifted the pattern of shifting cultivation to rubber farming in Nagari Silayang. Households engaged in shifting cultivation for food needs, stopped this entrenched practice, and focused on rubber plantations for food needs and financial means. But in recent years, the practice of shifting cultivation has been rife in Nagari Silayang. This phenomenon refutes the theory of agricultural transformastion in many previous studies, which concluded that shifting agricultural patterns lead to patterns that increasingly leave shifting cultivation. The purpose of this study, is to find the factors that cause farm households in Nagari Silayang to return to shifting cultivation, and find ways or strategies to stop forest clearing for swidden land. The research method used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative. Data collection uses observation, key informant interviews and household surveys. the results showed that the revival of shifting cultivation in Nagari Silayang was caused by the decline in global rubber prices, maintaining food security, and efforts to increase household income. This will have an impact on biodiversity damage and even natural disasters, because old forests are converted to agricultural land. This leads to negative impacts on biodiversity and can result in natural disasters, as old forests are converted to agricultural land.
