Abstract

The effectiveness of  jump-shoot technique step jump shoot and still jump shoot in a game is still questionable,  because many different assumptions arise. One opinion stated that step jump shoot was more effective and the other stated that and still jump shoot was more efective. Therefore it is necessary to do research on the analysis of the results of step jump shoot and and still jump shoot to improve the accuracy of shooting in a basketball. The experimental research had been conducted on 20samples of people whowere selected randomly from the men's basketball club of the Faculty of Physical Educationand Health of Teacher Training Institute PGRI Bali. Samples were divided into two groups each  consisting of 10 people. Group I was given training step  jump shoot four sets of 10 reps  and Group II training still jump shoot four sets of 10 reps. The data before and after treatment were tested by SPSS computer program. The data were normally distributed and homogeneous so further tested using pairedt-test to compare the average values?? before and after training between each group, while the independent t-test was used to determine differences in mean values?? between the two groups. Paired t-test resulted the obtained data were significantly increased in both treatment groups p=0,001 in Group I and p=0,000 in Group II (p <0.05). Results of independent t-test found that both groups before training did not differ significantly p=0,926 (p>0.05) and after training both groups equally improve the accuracy of shooting because p=0,133 (p>0.05). It was concluded that botht raining improved the shooting accuracy and there was no difference between the effect of step jumps hoot and still jump shoot toward the shooting accuracy. It was suggested to improve the shooting accuracy in basketball used step jump shoot training and still jump shoot training four sets of 10 reps with a training frequency of 4 times a week for 6 weeks

Abstract

Knee osteoarthritis is a disease caused by degenerative factors that mostly found in musculoskeletal and knee osteoarthritis has the most common cause to limited motion and body function. People with osteoarthritis usually complain of pain, stifftess and limitation of function. This study aimed to determine closed kinetic chain exercise was better than open kinetic chain to increase functional capability of knee osteoarthritis after giving treatment micro wave diathermy (MWD) and transcutaneus electrical nerve stimulation (TENS). The design of this research was true experimental pre-test and post-test with control group design, which the population was taken by purposively sampling. Division of the sample into two groups, group one consisted of 6 people. The first group was given MWD, TENS and Closed Kinetic Chain exercise and group two was given MWD, TENS and Open Kinetic Chain exercise. The frequency of exercise are 3 times a week for 4 weeks. Subjects were all patients with knee osteoarthritis who had been diagnosed through assesment procedures conducted in General Hospital of Mataram–Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. Analysis of significance with Paired t-test (paired) showed that in each group resulted in an increase in functional ability after treatment of knee osteoarthritis is significantly different (p<0.05). While a difference test in both groups after treatment using analysis test of Independent t-test (unpaired) showed that the value of t = 2.748 and p = 0.021. So thah there was an increase functional capabilities of knee osteoarthritis after treatment (p<0.05). In conclution the treatment conducted in group one which was MWD, TENS and Closed Kinetic Chain proved improvement of the functional capabilities of  knee osteoarthritis better than treatment conducted in group two, namely the MWD, TENS and Open Kinetic Chain.

Abstract

Myogenic low back pain is pain around of the lower back mucle caused by disorder or abnormalities in the elements of muscles and tendons without neurological disorders. Myogenic low back pain may result in pain, muscle spasm and muscle imbalance, so that the stability of abdominal muscles and low back decreased, lumbar mobility is limited, resulting in a decrease in functional activity. The exercise was usually given in a hospital Short Wave Diathermy combined with William's Flexion Exercise (WFE). The existence of a new method of core stability exercise (CSE) is very important for patients with myogenic low back pain. CSE was function to activate the harmonious movement between the four core muscle groups. The activation of these four core muscles will given stability on the lower back. The purpose of this study to determine core stability exercise is better than William's Flexion Exercise increases the functional activity in patients with myogenic low back pain. This study uses a quasi experimental design with pre-test and post-test control group design. The experiment was conducted in a clinic in Denpasar. Subjects were 28 patients who fulfill the criteria were established of the researchers. The increasing of functional activity was measured with the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) before and after training. Subjects were divided into two groups, they are the treatment group was given SWD and CSE three times a week and a control group given SWD and WFE three times a week. The results of statistical test was obtained, occur of decreasing in ODI scores in the first group with p = 0.001 and in the second group with p = 0.001. It means that the first group and the second group alike can increase the functional activity significantly. From the comparative test data by t-test using the difference data in the two groups was obtained the value p=0.001, which means significantly. The difference mean value ODI in first group as 28,86% although the difference ODI in the second group as 15,41%.  From the results of the research can be concluded that the core stability exercises is more increase the functional activity than William's Flexion Exercise in patients with myogenic low back pain. The study is expected to be beneficial in patients with myogenic low back pain to improving functional activity.

Abstract

Submaximal activity leads to oxidative stress that causes cellular damage, including platelet. Glutathione as a potential antioxidant has cellular protective effect. The purpose of this research was to analize the effect of glutathione pre submaximal exercise on platelet count and bleeding time. The study used separate post test only control group design with 28 male rats (Rattus norvegicus, Wistar strain) which were divided into four groups : P1(6) without intervention; P2(7), P3(8), and P4(7) with administration of placebo (aquabidest), glutathione 54 mg/kgBB, and glutathione 108 mg/kgBB intraperitoneally for each group that were given 5 times, continued with submaximal exercise (swimming with 4% of weight load). The result of ANOVA and LSD test showed that submaximal exercise had tendency to decrease platelet count (p=0,407; not significant) and prolonged bleeding time (p=0,017). Glutathione pre submaximal exercise had tendency to increase platelet count (p=0,407; not significant) and shortened bleeding time (p=0,017). Glutathione with a dose of 54 mg/kg had protective effect on platelet better than a dose of 108 mg/kg. In conclusion, the administration of glutathione pre submaximal exercise has protective effect on platelet in male rats (Rattus norvegicus).

Preservation batik has become cultural heritage of Indonesia also needs to be balanced with the protection of the health of batik craftsmen. The health condition of batik craftsman is one off factor in the sustainability of batik in Indonesian because the capital of craftsman working productivity. Workloads such as position and wrong posture at works can lead to complaints of the musculoskeletal system. One of them is low back pain (LBP). LBP can reduce the functional abilities of the craftsmen. LBP is a very common problem in people working age. Structured exercise an option for the treatment of low back pain. Exercise to reduce pain and improve functional activities. The most important component in LBP is strength training exercises and one spinal stability with back strengthening exercises and core stability exercise. The purpose of this study to determine that core stability training exercise is better than a back strengthening exercise in increasing the functional activity of the batik craftsmen with low back pain in Pekalongan. The research designs is experiment true by the one group pre-test and post-test group design, conducted in January to August 2014. Samples were taken by purposive sampling with inclusion and exclusion criteria. In this study consist of 28 people with batik craftsmen low back pain who have worked a minimum of 5-20 years. Subjects were divided into two groups: group 1 (were given training back strengthening exercises) and group 2 (were given training core stability exercise). Measurement instruments to assess the functional activity used the Pain Disability Index (PDI). The result of statistical test with paired t-test found that the reduction in PDI scores of group 1 with p value = 0.001 and data reduction PDI score group 2 p value = 0.001. Different of PDI scores after treatment were analisys by Independent t-test in 2 groups with p value = 0.001 (p

Abstract

Type of 80 meters ran is one of the numbers on athletics competed in early age of child. In early age, the physical condition and mind can still be developed continuously and systematically. The exercise in early age should be an element of play and competition, thus this exercise is attempted to develop the speed by two types of exercise: back to back relay run of 20 meters six reps four sets and back to back relay run of 30 meters four reps four sets. The aim of research is to know the increasing of 80 meters speed of run. The exercise was conducted for six weeks with a frequency of three times a week with the aim to increasing the speed. The numbered of sample was 24 people selected randomly from junior high school students of Dharma Praja Badung that meets the requirements of inclusion and exclusion. The numbered of each group consists of twelve people. Each group was given a different treatment i.e. group I was treated by back to back relay run of 20 meters six reps and four sets and group II treated by back to back relay run of 30 meters four reps four sets. Data derived from the duration time of 80 meters ran before and after exercise, with t paired test to determine the difference average speed of duration time before and after exercise in each group. The t Unpaired test for the difference average of increased speed between two groups with significance limit of 0.05. The differences of speed in 80 meters ran after exercise in both groups showed significant differences, i.e. p = 0.000 (p
