Abstract

Musculoskeletal complaints are a series of aches in the tendons, muscles, and nerves due to activities with high repetition rates resulting in tissue damage and pain in the muscles. Musculoskeletal complaints are experienced by many female workers due to work demands. Job demands such as the obligation to use high heels when working. Jobs related to the use of high heels are sales promotion girl (SPG). This study uses a quantitative approach. This type of research is observational analytic with cross sectional design. The assessment of musculoskeletal complaints in this study used the Foot and Ankle Outcomes Score (FAOS) questionnaire. Based on the results of the Spearman test factors associated with musculoskeletal complaints on feet and ankles of SPG at Golden Market Jember include individual factors consisting of length of work (ρ = 0,000; r = 0.617; negative direction), BMI (ρ = 0.022; r = 0.314; unidirectional), and sports habits (ρ = 0.045; r = 0.617, opposite). The work factor is static position (ρ = 0,000; r = 0.530; opposite). Shoe characteristic variables consist of shoes type (ρ = 0.022; r = 0.313, opposite), duration of use (ρ = 0,000; r = 0.547; direction), high heels (ρ = 0,000; r = 0.855; direction), and suitability shoe size (ρ = 0,000; r = 0.584; unidirectional). Factors not related to musculoskeletal complaints on the feet and ankles are age (ρ = 0.027; r = 0.850; unidirectional).

Abstract

Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) is a prodromal phase of cognitive decline that can precede the emergence of Alzheimer's Disease (AD). The populations most at risk are farmers who apply pesticides to their crops. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between age, length of working, and pesticide use (frequency and duration of spraying) with the incidence of MCI in tobacco farmers in Jember District. The type of this study was observational analytic with cross sectional design. The respondents of this research were 200 farmers in the district area, with stratified sampling method. Data analysis used the chi-square statistical test. The results showed that most respondents were aged ≥ 45 years and most respondents had working period of > 10 years. Most respondents sprayed pesticides 3-4 times in 1 month and the duration of spraying was evenly divided into two groups, ≤ 2 hours and> 2 hours. The results of bivariate analysis showed that in the study respondents, there was no relationship between age, years of working, and frequency of pesticide spraying with MCI, but there was a relationship between the length of pesticide spraying (p = 0,026) with MCI. Based on these results, it is necessary to educate tobacco farmers, especially in Jember Regency about the dangers of pesticides and to shorten the duration of pesticide spraying.

Abstract

Kegiatan pekerjaan penambangan belerang di kawasan pegunungan ijen dijalankan secara tradisional, sedangkan masalah keselamatan dan kesehatan kerja tidak mendapatkan perlindungan secara maksimal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi  keluhan kesehatan penambang belerang  di kawasan pegunungan ijen di Kabupaten Banyuwangi. Jenis penelitian adalah deskriptif, dimana peneliti malakukan pengamatan, wawancara dan pengisian kuesioner serta melakukan pengukuran pada beberapa variabel yang sedang diteliti, yaitu sumber bahaya dan keluhan kesehatan. Sampel penelitian adalah 50 responden, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel adalah simple random sampling. Teknik analisis data dari penelitian ini adalah analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pertama, untuk keluhan pernafasan, sebagian besar penambang belerang mengeluh batuk berdahak yaitu sebanyak 37 responden (74%). Kedua, berdasarkan keluhan pada mata, sebagaian besar pekerja mengeluh mata mereka berair ketika menambang, yaitu 94%. Ketiga, berdasarkan keluhan pada kulit, keluhan terbesar yang dirasakan penambang pada kulit adalah kulit melepuh sebanyak 8%. Keempat, berdasarkan keluhan pada gigi, sebagian besar pekerja mengeluh gigi mereka linu yaitu 68%. Disarankan agar penambang belerang ketika menambang lebih disiplin memakai alat pelindung diri (APD) dan APD tersebut harus sesuai dengan standar.

Abstract

High work climate and high workload can cause overstress and metabolic heat in the body wich will potentially affect workers hydration status. Industrial workers often carry out physical work in hot working environments with high workload (physical workload) over a long period. Loading and a high work climate can cause overstress and metabolic heat so that workers have the potention dealing with heat stress and dehydration due to excessive sweating issue and it will affect the workers hydration status. This study purpose was to find out the relationship between physical workload and work climate due to workers hydration status unit P2 (wood working 1) WW1 section in PT. KTI Probolinggo. This study used quantitative approach, an observational analytic type with cross sectional design. Based on statistical tests result using Spearman and Chi Square, the factors associated to hydration status were age with a positive linkage direction and drinking water consumption with a negative linkage direction. Unrelated factors were gender (p value = 0.688), nutritional status (p value = 0.333), years of service (p value = 0.626), physical workload (p value = 0.333), and work climate (p value = 0.105). The advice given based on this research is adding more water consumption, adding glasses according to the number of workers and drinking water needs of each worker, providing education of body fluid needs for hot working environments including signs of dehydration and how to prevent it, setting-up diagram poster shows the importance of drinking water consumption in hot working environment. Abstract

The construction sector played an important role in development and was the biggest contributor of work accident rate in Indonesia. The aim of the research were to analyze human, methods, machines, materials, and environment element as cause of occupational accidents. This was a cross-sectional observational research conducted in October 2012 to March 2013. This research was carried out with several integrates stages which include risk identification, risk assessment and priorities formulation, root cause analysis, and ended by recommendations for controlling risk and hazard. Risk identificationshowed that there were 100 risks that couldthreaten the workers. The following categories were: 4% low risk categories, 48% moderate risk, 39% high risk, and 9% extreme risk. Through the Q sort technique obtained five priority safety issues: workers falling from height, electric shock, workers stung by material lifted, fires or explosions, and the scaffolding collapsed. Based on root cause analysis, it showed that the most likely root cause of the problems was dominated by the human factor such as: fatigue due to overtime work, lack of experience and understanding of the procedure, lack of awareness of the importance of the ocupational safety and health. Abstract

Kebahagiaan di tempat kerja adalah pola pikir seseorang untuk memaksimalkan potensi diri dan kinerja. Dosen yang mempunyai kebahagiaan di tempat kerja akan memiliki keterikatan yang tinggi dengan pekerjaannya, semangat, antusias, tekun dan berkonsentrasi penuh untuk menyelesaikan pekerjaannya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis beban kerja mental dan pendapatan dengan kebahagiaan di tempat kerja pada Dosen di Universitas Jember. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu analitik observasional dengan menggunakan desain penelitian cross sectional. Populasi penelitian ini yaitu Dosen di Universitas Jember yang berstatus aktif dengan jumlah 939 dosen sedangkan sampel yang diambil yaitu 90 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa paling banyak responden berjenis kelamin perempuan, berada pada kategori dewasa awal yaitu pada usia 20-40 tahun, paling banyak memiliki masa kerja lama >10 tahun, mayoritas mempunyai golongan III, paling banyak menjabat sebagai lektor, sebagian besar beban kerja mental berada pada kategori sedang dan pendapatan yang diperoleh dosen berada pada rentang Rp 5.000.000,- s/d Rp 10.000.000,-. Hasil uji korelasi Spearman menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara beban kerja mental dengan kebahagiaan di tempat kerja. Pihak Universitas Jember diharapkan dapat meningkatkan tata kelola lembaga yang lebih baik serta diharapkan dosen dapat menerapkan manajemen yang lebih baik lagi.

Abstract

The public’s satisfaction ratings of the health center services can be seen from the performance or perceived outcome compared with expectations. The general objective of this study is to assess people's satisfaction of health center services. Method is a qualitative research approach. This research was conducted in all districts in Jember, by taking 25 informants as samples for indept interview. The sampling technique to informants by using purposive sampling and snowball sampling, qualitative research instrument of this study is the researchers themselves by holding on to an open questionnaire guidelines, technical analysis is descriptive. The results of the study describe that the majority of informants (80%) say the public satisfied of the services at the health center, the issue then the people donot know what standards they are supposed to get from the service. Service to customers is a service that can be justified and balanced. In this context, services in health centers should transparently explain the standard of service flow and what will be done by the medical waiter, so the patient know about what kind of service that they would be received. The issue of quality of service is the most important thing to increase confidence in the health centers, for example in terms of service time, the average time to get a queue number about three minutes. Then the waiting time to be called about ten to thirty minutes. While the time to see a doctor about five minutes. And the time to stand in line to take drugs in about thirtyminutes. With the size of this time, the average patient takes about one to one and a half hours in a health center. Abstract

Puskesmas merupakan unit pelaksana teknis Dinas Kesehatan yang memiliki tanggungjawab untuk menyelenggarakan pembanguan kesehatan di wilayah kerjanya. Sebagaipusat penggerak pembangunan bidang kesehatan, puskesmas juga didorong untuk selalumeningkatkan kinerjanya. Salah satu tolak ukur yang dapat digunakan puskesmas untukpeningkatan kinerjanya adalah harapan masyarakat terhadap pelayanan yangdiselenggarakan puskesmas. Dengan mengetahui seberapa besar harapan masyarakat terhadap puskesmas, maka akan lebih mudah bagi pemerintah dalam mewujudkankepuasan masyarakat khususnya di bidang kesehatan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalahmengukur tingkat harapan masyarakat terhadap kinerja puskesmas berdasarkanreliability, responsiveness, assurance, emphathy, tangibles, assesibility, availability,continuity, keuangan, humanitas, ketersediaan informasi, dan kenyamanan lingkungan,serta kompetensi petugas. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian survey denganpendekatan kuantitatif. Harapan masyarakat pada penelitian ini dibagi menjadi 5 kategoriyakni: Sangat rendah, rendah, biasa saja, tinggi, dan sangat tinggi. Berdasarkan hasilpenelitian diketahui bahwa harapan masyarakat terhadap pelayanan puskesmas beradapada level tinggi. Hal ini dapat disimpulkan dari hasil survey dimana sebagian besarmasyarakat menilai 11 dari 13 variabel penilaian puskesmas merupakan suatu hal yangpenting. Variabel tersebut diantaranya : reliability (42,69%), responsiveness (43,8%),assurance (43,93%), emphathy (53,07%), tangibles (48,6%), assesibility (36,27%),availability (52,84%), continuity (35,4%), humanitas (46,13%), dan kenyamananlingkungan (48,27%), dan kompetensi petugas (49,75%), sedangkan 2 variabel sisanyayakni: keuangan (35,6%) dan ketersediaan informasi (41,47%) dinilai sebagai hal yangbiasa saja. Kata kunci : puskesmas, kinerja, harapan.

Abstract

One of the workplaces that often occurs in fires is a Petrol Station. As an effort to prevent fire with the availability of fire protection facilities available at gas stations. The purpose of this study is to describe the means of active fire protection and consumer compliance with warning signs and signs contained by gas stations as an effort to prevent fires in the Petrol Station Regency of Bondowoso. This research uses a descriptive quantitative research that illustrates the level of compliance with SPBU Safety Man Module regulations, SPBU Standard Operating Procedures and Management, K3LL Guidelines, Public Works Minister Regulation No: 26/PRT/M /2008 and SNI based on actual conditions. The sample in this study were 7 Petrol Station in Bondowoso Regency and 100 individuals related to consumer compliance. Data collection was carried out by interview, observation and documentation study. The average result of the suitability level of active protection facilities is 24.6% with the APAR criteria where the suitability level reaches 61.9% and the absorbance of sand reaches 85.71%. For fire detectors, fire alarms, fire hydrants and hose reels have not been implemented. While the level of consumer compliance is 95.83%. The results showed that active fire protection facilities at gas stations were not in accordance with laws and regulations, while consumer compliance was in the good category.

Abstract

Kebisingan adalah semua suara yang tidak dikehendaki yang bersumber dari proses produksi dan atau alat kerja yang pada tingkatan dan waktu tertentu mampu menimbulkan gangguan pendengaran dan keluhan non-auditory berupa gangguan komunikasi, gangguan fisiologis, dan gangguan psikologis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan karakteristik responden dan faktor paparan kebisingan dengan keluhan non-auditory. Penelitian ini berjenis analitik dengan desain cross sectional. Variabel bebas penelitian ini adalah karakteristik responden (usia, jenis kelamin, masa kerja, riwayat penyakit, penggunaan Alat Pelindung Telinga) dan faktor paparan kebisingan (lama paparan kebisingan dan persepsi tentang paparan kebisingan), sedangkan variabel terikatnya adalah keluhan non-auditory. Peneliti mengumpulkan data dengan menggunakan angket online. Populasi sebanyak 50 orang dan sampel sebanyak 30 responden merupakan pekerja konstruksi di PT. X yang memberikan jasa ke bagian Smelter dan Refinery PT.Y. Sampel dipilih dengan simple random sampling dan data dianalisis dengan uji chi square (α = 0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat hubungan antara variabel usia (p-value=0,301), jenis kelamin (p-value= 0,909), riwayat penyakit (p-value= 0,909), masa kerja (p-value= 0,305), lama paparan (p-value= 0,198), penggunaan Alat pelindung Telinga/APT (p-value= 0,233), dan lama paparan (p-value= 0,198) dengan keluhan non-auditory yang dialami pekerja. Satu-satunya variabel yang terdapat hubungan dengan keluhan non-auditory adalah persepsi tentang paparan kebisingan (p-value= 0,021). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah, dari seluruh variabel bebas (usia, jenis kelamin, masa kerja, riwayat penyakit, penggunaan Alat Pelindung Telinga, lama paparan kebisingan dan persepsi tentang paparan kebisingan) hanya persepsi tentang paparan kebisingan yang berhubungan secara signifikan dengan keluhan non-auditory. Saran untuk PT. X adalah untuk melakukan pengukuran kebisingan secara berkala di seluruh area kerja, melakukan evaluasi terhadap penggunaan APT, dan melaksanakan program manajemen kebisingan.
