Abstract

Improving MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) performance is essential for business owners to increase their income and welfare. However, recently, the company’s performance tend to decrease, particularly among MSMEs’ businesses, resulting in a significant reduction in the country or region’s the economy and household income. Based on that reason, this research was conducted to examine the impact of social capital, location, and control variables on the MSMEs performance. Using the incidental sampling technique, the authors collected data from as many as 131 samples located and opened a business in North Tangerang. The distributed instrument has been initially checked for its validity and reliability. Multiple regression was employed to analyze the data. The finding showed that social capital and location significantly determined the improvement of MSME performance. The greater the accumulation of social capital and precision of business location, the greater the company’s performance. These findings contribute to providing important information considering social capital and location as determinant factors for future policies and business plans.

Abstract

This research describes the use of Videos media for learning vocabulary and has found positive results in improvement students' vocabulary mastery. The purpose of this research is to find out whether there was an improvement in vocabulary mastery at fifth grade of SDN Kutajaya I in Academic Year 2021/2022 after using Videos. The sample used is 30 students. The writer used quantitative methods with pre-experimental design one group pretest and posttest. The writer was conducted a research using pretest, treatments and posttest. The results showed that the use of Videos can improve students' vocabulary learning. The data hypothesis test used the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test, and the results were Ha accepted and Ho was rejected. It can be shown that Sig. < (0.05). This means that there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test at SDN Kutajaya I. Learning vocabulary by using Videos can make students more interested in the learning activity. In addition, it is not easy to make students feel bored because learning atmosphere is more exciting.

Abstract

Improving the quality of life of the community as one of the key indicators of development success is a must since it has an impact on the wellbeing of the community. This study aims to measure quality of life and analyze the effect of additional general allocation funds for village infrastructure development, education, and control variables on the quality of life of the community who lived in Tangerang. The researchers employed a sample size of 368 people. Using a cross-sectional survey approach, valid, and reliable questionnaires were distributed. The results of the multiple regression analysis showed that the general allocation funds for the village infrastructure development were proven to have a significant effect on improving the quality of life of the community. The education level variable did not have a significant effect on improving the quality of life, but it had a significant effect on the psychological health domain of quality of life. In addition to the provision and maintenance of health services, it is necessary for the government to include the construction of infiltration wells, community-based domestic wastewater management networks, light fire extinguishers, and portable fire pumps as development priorities.

Abstract

Todays’ increasingly complex social and economic life requires good financial literacy knowledge and skills for all individuals. This study examines the effect of self-efficacy, socioeconomic status, and financial education on students’ financial literacy. The sample size was 98 students (10% sampling error). The sample selection technique is simple random sampling with predetermined criteria. We utilized the Logistic Binary Regression model. Research instruments distributed to samples have been tested for validity and reliability. Distribution of questionnaires utilizing google form through WhatsApp groups. The study found that students who had financial planning skills, basic understanding of macroeconomics, considerations in the use of money, saving and investment behavior, planning retirement, and analyzing risk are characteristics of financially literate students. The test results found that self-efficacy and socioeconomic status of student parents were significant determinants in improving financial literacy. On the contrary, financial education had no significant effect. This result implies that students are always able to cover their own weaknesses with strengths by understanding and changing behavior in making financial planning and decisions. Meanwhile, rational financial decisions in the family should be known by their children and involve them.

Abstract

In the last decade, vocational education quality is one of the productivity measurements. To measure productivity were internal and external efficiency, the quality of graduates, financial management, and effectivity. This study aims to examine and analyzed the effect of the principles of efficiency, fairness, transparency, and accountability in financial management on vocational school productivity simultaneously or partially. The sampling technique used was a census. Data collection methods using questionnaires. Data analysis methods using logistic regression analysis. The results of this study could be concluded that teachers' perceptions of school productivity were good, but they're still needs to be an improvement in school policies in keeping schools productive and even increasing. The results both partially and simultaneous were the application of the principle of transparency and accountability proven to contribute significantly to increasing school productivity. Whereas the principle of efficiency and fairness didn’t significantly contribute to increasing the productivity of vocational schools in Business and Management in Tangerang Municipality. While simultaneously, the application of the principles of efficiency, fairness, transparency, and accountability in school financial management contributed to creating school productivity. The implication of this research was useful for improving the quality and productivity of vocational schools in Tangerang Municipality.

Abstract

Academic achievement is one of the important indicators in measuring learning success from a cognitive aspect. Academic achievement will determine future students’ paths both to continuing to a higher level of education and competing in the job market. This study aims to examine differences in academic achievement, time management, learning motivation, and gender according to student employment status. The author also examines the impact of time management, employment status, and gender on student academic achievement. The population used 370 FKIP students at the Shekh-Yusuf Islamic University at Tangerang, Academic Year 2021/2022. The sample size was 192 students (5% sampling error) with purposive sampling technique. Data collection utilized an online questionnaire with a Google form which was distributed via WhatsApp. Data analysis utilized the Mann-Whitney U Test non-parametric difference test. The results of the study discovered that there were significant differences in student academic achievement based on the characteristics of job status, as well as differences in gender. The results of the binary logistic regression test found that gender had a significant effect, while time management and employment status did not. These findings contribute to increasing knowledge in the world of education, especially academic achievement. The existence of a student's employment status can have implications for the high and low academic achievement obtained.

Abstract

Kegiatan pelatihan penulisan karya tulis ilmiah ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan riset dan publikasi para guru dan mahasiswa. Kegiatan ini diikuti 43 peserta yang terdiri dari para guru dan mahasiswa. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi tahapan persiapan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi dan pelaporan. Sedangkan teknik pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan adalah secara daring.  Hasil kegiatan pelatihan ini menunjukkan bahwa peserta merasa cukup puas dengan kegiatan pelatihan ini.  Selama pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, para guru dan mahasiswa konsisten mengikuti kegiatan dengan baik. Kegiatan ini memberikan kontribusi kepada para guru dan mahasiswa dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan, pemahaman, dan keterampilan dalam penulisan karya ilmiah. Selain itu, dengan diadakannya pelatihan ini diharapkan guru dapat melaksanakan kegiatan pembelajaran yang lebih berkualitas. Dengan demikian, perlu adanya pelatihan bagi guru dan mahasiswa agar dapat menuliskan hasil tersebut ke dalam karya ilmiah.

Abstract

Currently the number of unemployed is increasing in Indonesia, one way to reduce the unemployment rate is by entrepreneurship. However, those who become entrepreneurs are relatively few. This study intends to examine the impact of entrepreneurship education, use of social media, and family background on entrepreneurial intentions. We utilized of 274 samples unit with simple random technique. The online questionnaires were utilized to collecting data. The multiple regression results showed that entrepreneurship education, using of social media, and family background partially had a positively significant impact on the entrepreneurial intention of SMKN 9 Tangerang Regency students. This research has implications that entrepreneurship education wants to further increase the variety and use of social media by students to encourage growing intention in entrepreneurship

Abstract

The value added of a university is strongly influenced by the high or low number of studies. But unfortunately, the interest of lecturers and students in writing scientific articles is still low. This training activity aims to improve the research and publication skills of lecturers and students. This activity was attended by 134 participants consisting of lecturers and students. Methods of implementing activities include the stages of preparation, implementation, evaluation, and reporting. The training implementation technique is carried out online. The results of this training activity showed that the participants were quite satisfied with this activity. During the activity the participants actively participated in discussion activities. This activity is able to contribute to lecturers and students to improve the quality of research and scientific publications in Higher Education.

Abstract

One indicator of sharia financial management is funding made by students. However, not all students manage their finances well. This study aims to examine the effect of Islamic financial literacy and lifestyle variables on students' Islamic financial management. The authors utilized a cross-sectional survey. The sample size used was 104 students of class X Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Tangerang Regency and census as the sampling technique. As for determining the size of the questionnaire using google form through the student's WhatsApp group and having tested its validity and reliability. The author utilized a logistic regression model for testing. The results showed that sharia financial literacy was a significant determinant in improving Islamic financial management. In other words, the higher the student's financial literacy, the better the possibility to manage finances in a sharia manner for students. This showed that the higher student knowledge about finance, managerial ability in sharia would increase. Likewise, students' lifestyles were also a significant determinant in improving students' sharia financial management. The lifestyle in question was that students carry out positive activities, had high interest in learning, had a positive opinions, allocated money appropriately, and utilized money according to their needs. Student lifestyle had a higher influence than financial literacy in determining sharia financial management. The findings of this study provide scientific contributions, especially in the field of education and help students to have good attitudes and behavior in managing finances inside and outside school.
