Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of IoT-based flipped learning to improve students' problem-solving skills. This type of research is meta-analysis research. The data sources in this study came from 11 national and international journals. Data sources were searched through Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, Wiley, and Eric. The data collection technique is direct observation through online databases. The inclusion criteria in this study are 1) data sources in the form of national and international journals published from 2019-2023; 2) Experimental or quasi-experimental type of research; 3) Research on flipped learning and solving skills. Research on flipped learning and student problem-solving skills and 4) Data sources in the form of journals or proceedings indexed by SINTA, DOAJ, and Scopus. Data analysis is quantitative descriptive analysis with the help of the JASP application. The results showed that the average effect size value (ES = 0.839) was high. This finding shows that the IoT-based flipped learning model can improve students' problem-solving skills. The flipped learning model helps students to be more creative and innovative in learning.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect size of the STEM-based problem-based learning model on students' problem-solving skills. This type of research is a meta-analysis. Data sources come from 14 national and international journals. The process of finding sources in research through Google Scholar. Eric and ScienceDirect. Data collection techniques are direct observation and documentation tracing the journal database. Data analysis is quantitative statistical analysis with the help of the Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) veris 3.0 application. The results showed that the average effect size value of 0.912 was high. This finding shows that there is a significant effect of the STEM-based problem-based learning model on students' problem-solving skills. The problem-based learning model helps students think at a higher level in learning

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effect of an ethnobiology learning model based on design thinking on students' critical thinking skills. The research is a type of quasi-experimental research with a randomized control group pretest-postest design. The population of this study came from SMA Negeri 12 Kerinci. The research sample came from two classes, namely class XI MIPA (experimental class) and class MIPA 3 (control class) totaling 42 students. The experimental class group used the ethnobiology learning model while the control class group used the conventional learning model. The sampling technique is random sampling. The research instrument was an objective test of critical thinking skills. Data analysis was quantitative statistical analysis with the help of SPSS version 26. The results of this study showed that the average value of posttest and N-gain critical thinking skills of classes that obtained ethnobiology learning based on design thinking was better than classes that used conventional learning. The t-test results show that the ethnobiology learning model based on design thinking has an effect on critical thinking skills sig. < 0.05 (0.00 < 0.05). Students' thinking skills in the experimental class obtained an average score of 82.30 with an N-gain value of 0.72

Abstract

This study aims to find out to produce a valid and reliable Project Based Learning integrated ethnoscience instrument in Newton's Law material. This type of research is a development research with 4D model. The research sample came from 2 physics education lecturers and physics teachers of SMA Negeri 4 Kerinci. Data collection techniques come from observation, interviews and validation questionnaires. The instrument in this study was a validation sheet using a likers scale. Data analysis is qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques with the help of the SPSS version 21 application. The results show the average validation value of ethnoscience instruments of 0.710 with very valid criteria and a reliability value of 0.845 high criteria. This finding explains that the ethnoscience instrument integrated with project-based learning is very feasible to be developed in learning physics material on Newton's Law

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of the ethnoscience-based Science Environment Technology Society (SETS) learning model on learning Physics and Biology. This type of research involves systematic research, literature reviews, and meta-analyses. The data sources were taken from an analysis of 100 international journals published from 2018 to 2023. Tracing data sources through Google Scholar, Eric, ScienceDirect, and ProQuest. The process of selecting data sources must meet the inclusion criteria analyzed by the JSAP application. The inclusion criteria in this study are: 1) the journal must be published in 2018–2023; 2) SINTA and Scopus/WOS must index the journal; 3) The journal uses experimental or quasi-experimental research methods; and 4) it has an effect size that can be calculated. The data collection technique is direct observation through the journal database. The results showed that the average effect size (ES = 0.873) is a large criterion. These findings explain that the ethnoscience-based Science Environment Technology Society (SETS) model significantly affects science learning. Furthermore, this SETS learning model helps students learn physics and biology more actively and creatively. These results are very important in evaluating the implementation of the school learning system. Furthermore, this ethnoscience-based SETS model must be applied in learning biology and physics to stimulate students to think critically.
