Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang pengaruh pemberian vermikompos cair Lumbricus rubellus pada pertumbuhan Chlorella sp.. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konsentrasi media kultur vermikompos yang terbaik dalam meningkatkan pertumbuhan populasi Chlorella sp.. Penelitian dilaksanaan di Balai Budidaya Air Payau Takalar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen menggunakan desain percobaan Rancangan Acak Lengkap, dengan konsentrasi larutan vermikompos cair  A 0%, B 0,3%, C 0,6%, D 0,9%, dan E 1,2%, masing-masing perlakuan 3 kali ulangan. Pengamatan pertumbuhan Chlorella sp. dilakukan selama 10 hari. Hasil analisis data menggunakan UNIANOVA diperoleh hasil yang tidak berbeda nyata antar perlakuan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kepadatan tertinggi populasi Chlorella sp. terjadi pada hari kesembilan dengan kepadatan 1698,91x104sel/ml terjadi pada konsentrasi vermikompos cair 0,9%.Kata Kunci: Chorella sp., budidaya perairan, vermikompos, Chlorellaceae

Abstract

Research on the diversity of invertebrate epifaunas associating with mangroves in the Balangdatu village of Tanakeke regency, Takalar district, South Sulawesi, has been conducted from September to December 2016. The objective of this research was to know the diversity of invertebrate epifaunas associating with mangrove in Balangdatu Village of Tanakeke Islands. Sample collection was done by using explorative quantitatively plot methods with size 2 x 2 m, applied at three different stations. Data analysis includes calculation of Absolute density, Uniformity Index (Shannon-wiener), Dominance Index, and Distribution Index. The results showed that there were 13 species of epi fauna of 9 tribes, namely Littoraria sp 1, Cerithidea cingulata, Littoraria sp 2, Littoraria pallescens, Episesarma sp, Saccostrea cucullata, Pagurus sp, Terebralia sulcata, Cerithidea sp, Nerita planospira, Nisto histrio, Littoraria scabra, and Cassidula vespertilionis. The highest density was found in Littoraria scabra with a density of 0.72 ind/m2. Diversity indices are low which indicate depressed environmental conditions. Distribution Index values across stations <1 indicating that the pattern of individual dispersion tends to be uniform.

Abstract

A study on community structure of macrozoobenthos was conducted in the vicinity of seagrass beds Barrang Lompo Island Waters,Makassar. The aim of this study was to investigate species composition, density of macrozoobenthos in the area.Total of 27 species macrozoobenthos were identified during this study.Modiolus micropterus is the most dominant species with density of 542 individu/m .The highest diversity index was found in southeast side (2.38) while northeast side has diversity index only 0.70. Macrozoobentos composition in both station were different with similarity index of 21%.

Abstract

The research on early identification of bacterial from juveniles top shell (Trochus niloticus L.) and giant clam (Tridacna squamosa Linn.) was conducted at Unhas’s hatchery at Barrang Lompo island during August-October 2006. Bacteriology test was done at Microbiology Laboratory of Biology Department, Math and Science Faculty, Hasanuddin University, Makassar. The quantitative test was done using Most Probable Number (MPN) and Standard Plate Count (SPC) methods. While the qualitative test included bacteria colony observation, macroscopic, microscopic, and biochemical test. Macroscopic observation was done by assessing the form, elevation, color, ridge, and inner structure of bacterial colony. Microscopic observation was conducted by using Gram and spora stain. The result of MPN method shows the average total bacteria for juveniles top shell is 17.5 x 102 cell/ml and for giant clam is 6.65 x 102 cell/ml, while SPC results indicate the average total bacteria for juveniles top shell is 4.8 x 105 cell/ml and for giant clam is 3.0 x 105 cell/ml, respectively. The result of biochemical test identifies 5 genera of bacteria such as Micrococcus, Bacillus, Streptomyces, Escherichia and Enterobacter.

Abstract

White shells Meretrix meretrix is one of the bivalves that are often sold in local markets of Makassar. Meretrix meretrix is one type of shellfishes that is favoured by the people so that they are continuedly being taken from their habitat without considering the feasibility of the capture. This research was aimed to determine the correlation between shell length, shell width, shell thickness, and total weight of the meat as well as assessing the size of a decent catch of M. meretrix in Makassar. Morphometric relationship between the length, width and thickness of the shell and total weight of the meat was analyzed using regression analysis.The results showed that the length and width of the shell and the length and total weight had strong positive correlation (0.81 = r = 0.96 and 0.81 = r = 0,92 repectively).The lenght and thickness of shell was moderately correlated (0.57 = r = 0.76), while the length and weight of the meat showed weak correlation (0.02 = r = 0.47). Size of M. meretrix sold in TPI Rajawali, Sentral market and Tanjung market ranged between 2.00 ? 6.99 cm and has fulfilled the catching standard, which is > 4 cm.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang kelayakan kualitas air untuk kawasan budidaya Eucheuma cottonii berdasarkan aspek fisika, kimia dan biologi di Kabupaten Kepulauan Selayar, pada bulan September – November 2014. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kawasan budidaya rumput laut berdasarkan kondisi fisika, kimia dan biologi di perairan Kepulauan Selayar. Penentuan lokasi budidaya rumput laut dilakukan dengan penyusunan matrik kesesuaian berdasarkan hasil skoring dan pembobotan. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan kisaran nilai: a) Parameter fisika terdiri atas: (1) kedalaman sebesar 6,5 m– 11,5 m, (2) kecerahan 1,61 m– 6,51 m, (3) suhu perairan 29 ºC– 30,7 ºC, (4) salinitas perairan 28 ppt – 31,5 ppt, (5) material dasar perairan mempunyai jenis antara lain: lumpur, pasir dan karang, (6) kecepatan arus 0,02 m/det - 0,156 m/det, (7) muatan padatan tersuspensi 16,097 mg/l- 58,350 mg/l. b) Parameter kimia terdiri dari: (1) oksigen terlarut 3 ppt - 6,3 ppm, (2) pH 7,13- 7,66, (3) fosfat 0,211 mg/l- 1,904 mg/l, (4) nitrat 0,032- mg/l- 1,412 mg/l. c) Parameter biologi terdiri atas: (1) kelimpahan fitoplankton 20500 sel/l- 46500 sel/l dan (2) klorofil-a 0,110 mg/l- 0,889 mg/l. Hasil skoring menunjukkan untuk kelima stasiun dapat dilakukan kegiatan budidaya E. cottonii yaitu pada desa Bonelohe, Baruyya, Barugayya, Dodaia dan Tongke-tongke.

Abstract

  Penelitian mengenai Echinodermata sudah banyak dilakukan, namun di Pulau Panikiang, masih sangat terbatas, sehingga perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih dalam mengenai keanekaragaman Echinodermata. Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai Echinodermata dengan menggunakan line transect kombinasi plot. Dimana panjang line transect 50 m dan plot dengan ukuran 2 x 2 m. Echinodermata yang berada dalam plot dihitung jumlah individunya, diamati morfologinya, diambil gambarnya untuk identifikasi lebih lanjut. Dilakukan analisis data keanekaragaman jenis, kemerataan, persebaran jenis dan dominansi. Ditemukan 10 species Echinodermata, yang terdiri dari 8 genera dan 8 famili. Memiliki tingkat keanekaragaman Echinodermata tergolong bervariasi (0.122251 - 2.014903).   Kata Kunci: Echinodermata, Pulau Pannikiang, Ekosistem Lamun

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui sintasan larva lola merah (Trochus niloticus) pada setiap stadia dengan metode pemijahan yang berbeda yaitu air mengalir, aerasi kuat, tekanan suhu, dan kombinasi tekanan suhu dan air mengalir. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan April 2006 di panti benih Stasion Laut UNHAS Pulau Barang Lompo, Makassar yang meliputi tahap persiapan, pemijahan induk, penebaran dan perhitungan jumlah dan ukuran larva serta pengukuran kua-litas air media larva lola merah. Pengolahan data menggunakan software SPSS 11.0. Dari 4 (empat) metode pemijahan yang dicobakan untuk menghasilkan larva lola merah, hanya 2 (dua) metode yang berhasil yaitu pemijahan dengan metode air mengalir dan metode aerasi kuat, sehingga sintasan larva yang diukur hanya dari kedua metode tersebut. Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat bermanfaat sebagai bahan informasi dalam memproduksi benih lola merah yang berkualitas. Hasil analisis menunjukkan sintasan larva pada metode pemijahan aerasi kuat pada stadia trokofor yaitu 85,00%, stadia veliger 54,92% dan stadia pediveliger 82,59%, sementara dengan metode air mengalir berturut-turut pada stadia trokofor 81,67%, stadia veliger 47,16% dan stadia pediveliger 88,57%. Hasil ter-sebut tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata dan setelah diuji lebih lanjut diketahui bahwa metode pemijahan tidak memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap sintasan pada setiap stadia larva lola merah. Terdapat perbedaan ukuran larva pada setiap stadia yaitu trokofor (650-675 ìm), veliger (675-725 ìm), dan pediveliger (700-725 ìm).Kata kunci : Sintasan, stadia larva, lola merah, pemijahan

Abstract

The research about analysis of the content of heavy metal lead (Pb) in sediment, sea waterand blood cockle Anadara granosa L. from the caostal water of Makassar has been done.This research was aimed to figure out the Pb content in the sediment, the sea water and theblood cockle A. granosa L. The sample was taken by using Purposive sampling method. Thesamples preparation used composite method and Pb level in samples was determined byAtomic Absorption Spectrofotometric (AAS). The result showed that at Tanjung Bunga, theaverage of Pb content in the: sea water 0,289 ppm, sediment 0,609 ppm and blood cockle A.granosa L. 0,704 ppm. In the Mangara Bombang, the average of Pb content in the sea water0,273 ppm but Pb level in the sediment and in the blood cockle A. granosa L. were notdetected.

Abstract

The Research on “Coral Coverage in Baranglompo Island and Bone Batang Island Based on Reef Check Method” was conductedin April 2016. The aims of this study was to determine and to compare the condition of reefs in Baranglompo and Bone BatangIslands based on the percentage of life coral cover by using Reef Check methods. This study also aims to determine whichfactors that most affect the percentage of coral cover on each island i.e: abiotic factors (temperature, salinity and substrate inthe form of rock, rubble, sand, silt/clay); biotic factors (soft coral, recent killed coral, algae, sponges, fish and invertebratesassociate) and anthropogenic factors (garbage, ilegal fishing/bombs, stun, anchors, nets) were also investigated. Percentage oflife coral cover obtained by Line Intercept Transect (LIT) along 100 meters at a depth of 3 meters and 10 meters. The resultsshowed that the condition of coral reefs in Baranglompo was classified as moderate with an average percentage coral coverageof 42% at a depth of 3 meters and 27% at a depth of 10 meters. While the condition of coral reefs in Pulau Bone Batang wasrelatively good with average coral cover of 51% at 3 meters depth and moderate with average coral cover of 39% at 10 metersdepth. Condition of coral reefs in Bone Batang is better than Baranglompo islands. Anthropogenic impacts in the form of wasteis the most influential factor on coral cover on the island Baranglompo. Whereas fishing activities by using dinamite are thefactors that most influence on coral cover on the island of Bone Batang.Keywords: Coral coverage, Baranglompo island, Bone Batang island, Reef Check
