Abstract

This paper discusses the initiation of the church as part of the implementation of the Great Commission. The method used in this paper is a qualitative method with a literature approach. Planting churches is part of the Great Commission because the pioneers of the church implement the spread of the Gospel to the established congregations. If we trace the PB (New Agreement) and its historical records in determining the pioneering locations of the church, God and man played a role. From God's point of view, it is theological basis when Paul and Silas prayed, then the Holy Spirit gave instructions on where they should go (Acts 16: 4-12). While from humans, the apostles sent people to preach the Gospel in the designated areas. In this pioneering exercise in identifying culture, it requires the involvement of mentoring involved. In starting a new church planting, focus on the arrangement of faith to new converts as well as on the congregation that will join as members but take priority over discussing material matters.

Abstract

The coronavirus disease 2019 (covid-19) pandemic has had a huge impact on human life. This study highlights how the theological response to the impact caused by covid-19, both in the context of religious and economic rituals. The method used by the researcher is a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The results of the description in this article suggest that the covid-19 pandemic has caused all global communities and various aspects to be seriously affected by this outbreak, In this outbreak, the world economy has slumped, many people have died due to covid-19, and the space for religious rituals has been restricted. In the context of Christian theology, this pandemic can be indicated as the fulfillment of Bible prophecy as John's prophecy in the book of Revelation. Theologically, this plague is a punishment for humans who are willing to exploit nature. This epidemic is also a form of God's warning in the midst of increasingly corrupted human morality, which eases sinful acts without heeding the truth of God's word. This study concludes that the theological response to the covid-19 pandemic is to be more vigilant spiritually and build a life that glorifies God.

Abstract

This article laid out specifically the portrait of Jesus' solidarity with the poor or marginalized groups who were often socially left out, neglected and even discriminated. This topic was elaborated on, given that human empathy was slowly fading. In portraying Jesus' solidarity, the researchers traced it from the Gospel of Luke because this book paid severe attention to Jesus' solidarity with the poor. The researchers used the exposition and literature approach to outline the topic of this article. The findings of this study suggested that the portrait of Jesus' solidarity for the poor and marginalized people was that He embraced the left out, met their physical and spiritual needs, defended those who were discriminated and helped thoroughly. The act of solidarity shown by Jesus depicted that He shared their burden, felt how they felt, and sensed the suffering of the poor and other marginalized groups. The solidarity that Jesus became the role model for every servant of God, to follow and emulate what He did as God's partner in echoing the kingdom of God.
