Abstract

Budidaya bandeng sebagai bahan baku berbagai olahan perlu didukung dengan teknologi yang intensif. Peningkatan kualitas nutrisi bandeng diperlukan untuk memperoleh bahan baku yang tidak hanya banyak tetapi juga bernutrisi. Penambahan probiotik ke dalam pakan bandeng dapat meningkatkan efisiensi pakan agar pakan lebih mudah dicerna dan enzim dapat bekerja lebih efektif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan probiotik terhadap pertumbuhan, efisiensi pakan, tingkat kelulushidupan dan nilai nutrisi ikan bandeng. Bahan yang digunakan adalah ikan bandeng dengan berat rata-rata 102±2,58 g, pakan bandeng komersil dengan kandungan protein 30% dan probiotik dengan komposisi jamur Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Aspergillus oryzae, bakteri Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bacillus subtilis, Rhodopseudomonas, Actinomycetes dan Nitrobacter. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan dua perlakuan dan 5 kali ulangan. Analisis data menggunakan uji t untuk membandingkan budidaya ikan bandeng perlakuan A yaitu tanpa penggunaan probiotik dalam pakan dan perlakuan B yaitu dengan penggunaan probiotik dalam pakan. Hasil uji t menunjukkan penggunaan probiotik pada pakan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) pada pertumbuhan, efisiensi pakan dan nilai nutrisi namun tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) pada tingkat kelulushidupan ikan bandeng. Penggunaan probiotik pada pakan bandeng memberikan nilai RGR (1.958±0.02%/hari), nilai EPP (78.333±0.745%), kandungan protein (25.794±0.600%) lebih tinggi dan FCR (1.321±0.030) yang lebih baik dari perlakuan tanpa penggunaan probiotik dalam pakan bandeng. Milkfish culture as main raw materia for various processed food needs intensive technology support. Improvement in milkfish nutrition quality is necessary to obtain many raw nutritious materials.The addition of probiotics to milkfish feed is able to improve feed efficiency. Thus, the feed is easier to digest and the enzymes can work more effectively. This study aims to find out the effect of probiotic use on the growth, feed efficiency, survival rate and nutritional value of milkfish. The materials used in thi study were milkfish with an average weight of 102 ± 2.58 g, commercial milkfish feed with 30% protein content and probiotics composed of fungus Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Aspergillus oryzae, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bacillus subtilis, Rhodopseudomonas, Actinomycetes and Nitrobacter. The study was conducted using an experimental method with a randomized block design with two treatments and 5 repetitions. Data analysis was conducted using T test to compare milkfish culture treatment A,i.e. without the use of probiotics in feed and treatment B by using probiotics in feed. The results of the t test showed that the use of probiotics in feed had a significant effect (P <0.05) on growth, feed efficiency and nutritional value but had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on the level of milkfish survival capability. The use of probiotics in milkfish feed resulted in RGR value (1.958 ± 0.02% / day), EPP value (78.333 ± 0.745%),higher protein content (25.794 ± 0.600%)  and FCR (1.321 ± 0.030) which was better than the treatment without the us of probiotics in milkfish feed.

Abstract

The effort of aquaculture especially in the brackish and marine water becomes more develope,. That development cannot be separated from seeding phase. To sufficient the needed of seed, it is needed seed aquaculture by giving sufficient and quality life food, because it cannot be replace yet by the imitation food on the early of larvae seedling. One of the life food is Chlorella sp that given to zooplankton variety directly to the fish or shrimp cultivan. Therefore the Walne, Guillard’s f/2, and Erdschreiber culture mediums are suitabel medium used to phytoplankton culture.  The purpose of this research is to know the influence of medium of usage of Walne, Guillard’s f/2, and Erdschreiber on the growth of Chlorella. Also to know the best medium from those three medium on the growth of Chlorella sp the research was Laboratories experimental character. The effort scheme used is completely randomized design 3 treatments and 3 times repetitions,  Those 3 treatments are as follows: A. Walne Medium, B. Guillard’s f/2 Medium, and C. Erdschreiber Medium. The result of the research shows that the used of different culture medium effect on the growth of Chlorella sp, that is significant difference (P<0,05) on the Lag Phase time with best treatment B (0,290 days), great significant difference (P<0,01) on the specific growth rate with best treatment B (0.655). Thus on the maximum density and final density (on Log No. sel/mL) is great significant differences with best treatment B (Guillard’s f/2) each are 7.931 and 6.443. Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the impact of addition of ammoniak in different concentration in the sperm on the percentage of egg ovulation. The research method was carried out by completely randomized design with four treatments and three replicates, respectively. Those treatments were the addition of ammoniac solution with concentration of 0% (treatment A), 0.005% (treatment B), 0.010% (treatment C), and 0.015% (treatment D). The data was analyzed by using ANOVA and Duncan’s Multiple Range Test to know the effect of between the other treatments. The results showed that was the highly significant difference effect (p<0.01) on the egg ovulation of Abalone (H. asinina). The highest egg ovulation rate was obtained in treatment B (94.67% ). The ovulation rate was significantly higher than those in treatments C, D, and A, respectively. According to the results, the best concentration of the ammonia solution to the abalone sperm added was 0.005%. Furthermore, the regression test also showed a positive, linear relationship between spermatozoa motility rate and egg ovulation rate. However, the analysis of orthogonal polymonial provided a ammonia solution with the highest ovulation rate of 0.0057%.  Keywords: Concentration, ammonia solution, ovulation egg, abalone, H. asinina

Abstract

Usaha budidaya ikan di perairan payau dan laut semakin berkembang dan tidak dapat terlepas dari tahap pembenihan. Diperlukan budidaya benih dengan pemberian pakan alami yang cukup dan berkualitas. Pakan alami belum dapat digantikan oleh pakan buatan terutama pada saat awal pemeliharaan larva. Salah satu jenis pakan alami adalah Chlorella sp. yang diberikan kepada jenis zooplankton maupun langsung kepada kultivan ikan atau udang. Media kultur Walne, Gullard’s f/2 dan Erdschreiber merupakan media yang cocok digunakan untuk mengkultur phytoplankton. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media Walne, Gullard’s f/2 dan media Erdschreiber terhadap pertumbuhan Chlorella sp dan mengetahui media terbaik dari ketiga media tersebut terhadap pertumbuhan Chorella sp. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 3 perlakuan dan 3 kali ulangan, yaitu perlakuan A menggunakan Media Walne, perlakuan B menggunakan Media Guillard’s f/2, dan perlakuan C menggunakan Media Erdschreiber. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media kultur yang berbeda berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap waktu lag phase dan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap konstanta pertumbuhan spesifik, puncak populasi dan kepadatan akhir Chlorella sp. Media Guillard f/2 memberikan pertumbuhan Chlorella sp terbaik dengan waktu lag phase tercepat (0,290 hari), konstanta pertumbuhan spesifik terbaik (0,655), puncak populasi tertinggi (8,53 x 107  sel/ml) dan kepadatan akhir tertinggi (2,77 x 106 sel/ml)   Kata Kunci : media, kultur, pertumbuhan, Chlorella sp

Abstract

The important factor of seedling production is live food with good quality. One way to improve quqlity of live food, Brachionus plicatilis, to gain a high quality of larvae in seedling production, is through implementing food enrichment. Chlorella sp, which is its live food, can be enriched by combination of baker’s yeast, vitamin B12 and vitamin C, which then given, in order to increase Branchionus plicatilis growth and nutrition content. Purpose of this study is to acknowledge comparative population growth and improvement of Brachionus plicatilis with different kinds of foods enrichment, to understand the right food enrichment composition for Brachionus plicatilis growth. This research are laboratory experimental, with 10 ind/ml early spread density on 5 litres capacity container. The experiment using a Completely Randomize Design with 4 treatment and 3 repetitions. That four treatments included A (Chlorella sp), B (Chlorella sp + baker’s yeast), C (Chlorella sp + baker’s yeast + vitamin B12), D (Chlorella sp + baker’s yeast + vitamin B12 + vitamin C). Result from the research shows that implementation of food enrichment, which using baker’s yeast, vitamin B12 and vitamin C, brings about a great significant differences (p<0,01) in each treatment to population growth. D is the best treatment with specific growth rate of 0,661, maximal density of 530,4 ind/ml and final density of 381,7 ind/ml. Abstract

ABSTRAK   Ikan gurami (Osphronemus gouramy) merupakan komoditas ikan air tawar yang bernilai ekonomis penting, tetapi mempunyai kendala didalam budidaya, misalnya pertumbuhannya lambat  dan pemanfaatan pakan yang kurang efisien.  Salah satu pemecahan masalahnya  adalah dengan pemanfaatan probiotik pada pakan  didalam kultur, khususnya pada stadia larva gurame (Osphronemus gouramy). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mengkaji pengaruh penambahan probiotik komersil terhadap pertumbuhan, efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan dan kelulushidupan larva ikan gurame (Osphronemus gouramy). Materi yang digunakan adalah beberapa  produk probiotik komersial yang dicampurkan pada pakan buatan ikan dengan cara disemprotkan dan setelah didiamkan selama 24 jam diberikan sebagai pakan gurame. Metoda eksperimen dan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 kali pengulangan telah dikembangkan pada penelitian ini. Perlakuan yang diujikan adalah tanpa pemberian probiotik pada pakan (A); pemberian probiotik 1 (B); pemberian probiotik 2 (C); dan perlakuan D dengan pemberian probiotik 3 pada pakan. Berat benih gurame (Osphronemus gouramy) per individu 1,86±0,97 g dan panjang 4,11±0,41 cm. Padat penebaran benih gurame pada perlakuan yaitu 2 ekor/liter. Benih gurame diberi makan 3 kali sehari sebanyak 5% dari bobot biomassa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan probiotik pada pakan memberikan pengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap pertumbuhan dan efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kelulushidupan benih ikan gurame. Hasil terbaik diperoleh pada pemberian probiotik 1 dengan nilai tingkat pertumbuhan spesifik (SGR) sebesar 1,67±0,42 %,  efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan (22,2±2,6%) dan kelulushidupan (85,0±5,6%). Kriteria kualitas air media kultur masih baik untuk mendukung proses pertumbuhan dan pemanfaatan pakan.   Kata kunci : Probiotik komersial, pakan buatan, gurame (Osphronemus gouramy), dan pertumbuhan   ABSTRACT   Gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy) is  freshwater fish commodity that have high economic value, but it have problems in the culture such as the slow growth and inefficiency of feed utilization.  One of the problem solves is utilization of probiotic bacteria in the artificial feed, especially for fish larvae culture. The purpose of this study was to know and observe the effects of adding commercial probiotics for growth, feed utilization eficiency and survival rate of gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy) from day 35  to day 75. Some commercial probiotics used were sprayed onto artificial feed and after incubated during 24 hours, then give as fish feed in the culture. The experimental methods with completely randomized design (CRD) were employed in this research. The design consisted of 4 treatments and 3 replication, respectively. The treatments tested were without  probiotic added (treatment A), with probiotic 1 (B), with probiotic 2 (C), and the treatment D with added by probiotic 3. The initial density of  fish larvae were 2 inds/liter of water medium with average weight of 1,86 ± 0,27 g and length of 4,15±0,35 cm.  Gouramy fish were fed three times every day with 5% from biomass weight. The  research results shown that the difference adding probiotics in the artificial feed were significantly effects (P<0.05) on the growth and feed utilization efficiency but no significantly effect (P>0,05) on the survival rate of  gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy) in the culture. The best result was in the treatment B (with added by probiotic 1), where  the  best SGR of 1,67±0,42 %,  feed utilization efficiency of 22,2 ± 2,6% and survival rate of  85,0 ± 5,6%.  The water quality criteria of  culture medium were the good supported to the growth, feed  utilization, and survival rate of Gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy) in the culture.  Keywords : Commercial probiotic, artificial feed, Gouramy (Osphronemus gouramy), and growth

Abstract

Kopepod, Oithona sp., adalah salah satu zooplankton.yang memiliki kelimpahan cukup tinggi dan memiliki distribusi yang luas di laut. Oithona sp. memiliki kandungan nutrisi yang tinggi, sehingga layak untuk dijadikan pakan alami ikan maupun udang. Oithona sp. mengandung kalsium, EPA dan DHA yang lebih tinggi daripada Artemia sp. Kultur Oithona sp. sebagai sumber pakan larva udang maupun ikan memerlukan fitoplankton yang cukup banyak pula. Kultur fitoplankton memiliki teknik penyimpanan dan teknik pemberian pakan yang rumit jika dibandingkan dengan pakan buatan. Spesies yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Oithona similis. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh dan dosis kombinasi pakan buatan dan sel Chaetoceros calcitran  terhadap performa pertumbuhan O. similis. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri atas lima perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan, yaitu dengan kombinasi (A) pakan buatan 0% + C. calcitrans 100%, (B) pakan buatan 25% + C. calcitrans 75%, (C) pakan buatan 50% + C. calcitrans 50%, (D) pakan buatan 75% + C. calcitrans 25%, (E) pakan buatan 100% + C. calcitrans 0%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kombinasi pakan buatan dan C. calcitrans berpengaruh nyata terhadap kepadatan, laju pertumbuhan relatif, laju pertumbuhan dan produksi telur O. similis. Perlakuan C (pakan buatan 50% + C. calcitrans 50%) memberikan nilai terbaik pada kepadatan total 8,70±0,20 ind, laju pertumbuhan 0,23±0,009 ind/hari, laju pertumbuhan relatif 38,50±1,00%/hari dan produksi telur 18,00±0,72 telur/ind. Dosis optimum pakan buatan terhadap kepadatan total, laju pertumbuhan, laju pertumbuhan relatif dan produksi telur sebesar 37,2%, 38,9%, 37,1% dan 36,1%. Copepod, Oithona sp., is one of  zooplankton. Oithona sp. that distribute widely and abundance in the sea. Oithona sp. contains high nutritional value. Therefore, it is suitable use Oithona sp. as natural food for fish or shrimp. Oithona sp. contains calcium, EPA, and DHA which is higher than Artemia sp. Oithona sp. as a source of natural food for shrimp and fish larvae also need phytoplankton sufficient. Storing and feeding techniques of phytoplankton as natural food are more complicated than artificial feed. This study aims to determine the effect, and the combination dosage of artificial feed and C.calcitrans cells on the growth performance of O. similis. This study used an experimental method and a completely randomized design (CRD) which consisted of five treatments and three replication, with combination of (A) artificial feed 0% + C. calcitrans 100%, (B) artificial feed 25% + C. calcitrans 75%, (C) artificial feed 50% + C. calcitrans 50%, (D) 75% artificial feed + 25% C. calcitrans; (E) 100% artificial feed + C. calcitrans 0%. The results showed that the combination of artificial feed and C. calcitrans significantly affected on density, relative growth rate, growth rate and egg production. The C treatment gave the best value at total density of 8.70 ± 0.20 ind, growth rate 0.23 ±0.009 ind/day , relative growth rate of 38.67 ± 0.58%/day, and egg production 18 .00 ± 0.72 egg/ind. The optimum dose of artificial feed and C. calcitrans on density, relative growth rate, growth rate and egg production were 37.2%, 38.9%, 37.1%,, and 36.1%.

Abstract

Pengembangan budidaya ikan lele, Clarias gariepinus sering terjadi kendala dengan biaya pakan yang terlalu tinggi (60-70% dari biaya produksi). Barangkali, penggunaan bahan baku lokal seperti pemanfaatan tepung telur ayam yang nilai nutrisinya tinggi, mudah didapat, dan murah harganya merupakan salah satu solusinya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji dan mengetahui pengaruh penambahan tepung telur ayam afkir dalam pakan buatan yang berprobiotik terhadap efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan, pertumbuhan dan kelulushidupan ikan lele dumbo (C. gariepinus). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang menggunakan  4 perlakuan dan masing-masing 3 kali kali ulangan. Perlakuan itu adalah pakan yang tanpa menggunakan tepung telur ayam afkir (Perlakuan A), pakan yang menggunakan tepung telur afkir masing-masing sebanyak 15%, 30%, dan 45% sebagai Perlakuan B, C, dan D. Ikan uji  bibit lele dumbo (C. gariepinus) yang ditebar mempunyai bobot rerata 2.04±0.05 g dengan kepadatan 1 ekor/L yang dipelihara selama 42 hari. Variabel data yang diukur meliputi Tingkat Konsumsi Pakan (TKP), Efisiensi Pemanfaatan Pakan (EPP), Feed Convertion Ratio (FCR), Protein Efficiency Ratio (PER), Relative Growth Rate (RGR), dan Survival Rate (SR). Hasil penelitian ditunjukkan bahwa penggunaan tepung telur ayam afkir pada pakan buatan memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (p < 0.05) terhadap TKP, EPP, FCR, PER, dan RGR, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P≥0,05) terhadap SR. Perlakuan dengan penambahan tepung telur ayam afkir sebanyak 30% (Perlakuan C) memberikan nilai terbaik untuik TKP sebesar 146,87%, EPP sebesar 88,77%, PER sebesar 2,61% dan RGR sebesar 7,65%/hari dari perlakuan lainnya. Monitoring nilai kualitas air pada media pemeliharaan telah menunjukkan bahwa pada kisaran yang layak untuk pemeliharaan ikan uji. Catfish cultivation development, Clarias gariepinus often occur constraints with the high cost of feed  (60-70% of the production cost). Perhaps, the use of local raw materials such as the utilization of rejected chicken egg with high nutritional value, easy to obtain, and cheap price is one of the solution. The purpose of this research was to know the effect of addition of rejected chicken egg  powder inprobiotized artificial feed on the efficiency of feed utilization, growth and survival rate of catfish, C. gariepinus. This study was used an experimental method with completely randomized design (RAL) by using 4 treatments and each of them 3 replications. The treatments were feed without use of rejected chicken egg powder  (Treatment A), feed using 15%, 30%, and 45% of powder  meals of rejected chicken egg  as treatment B, C, and D, respectively. Catfish, C. gariepinus seeds were stocked with a mean weight of 2.04 ± 0.05 g with a density of 1 tail / L and cultured  for 42 days. The data variables measured were  Total of Feed Consumption (TFC), Feed Utilization Efficiency (FUE), Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR), Protein Efficiency Ratio (PER), Relative Growth Rate (RGR), and Survival Rate (SR). The results showed that the use of chicken egg starch in artificial feed gave a real effect (p <0.05) on TFC, FUE, FCR, PER, and RGR, but no significant effect (P≥0,05) on SR. Treatment with the addition of 30% chicken meal (Treatment C) had the best value for TFC at 146.87%, the FUE of 88.77%, the PER of 2.61%  and the RGR of 7.65% / day than of the another treatments. Monitoring of  water quality values on maintenance media has shown that at a reasonable range for the maintenance of catfish culture.

Abstract

 Sidat (Anguilla bicolor) merupakan jenis ikan yang pertumbuhan lambat, karena kemampuan daya cerna dan efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan sidat rendah. Salah satu usaha untuk mempercepat laju pertumbuhannya yaitu dengan memfermentasikan pakan buatan dan penambahan tepung cacing (Lumbricus sp.) untuk memperbaiki kandungan nutrisi pakan sehingga pertumbuhan sidat akan meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh dan  menentukan kombinasi fermentasi pakan buatan dan penambahan tepung cacing tanah yang memberikan pertumbuhan, efisiensi pakan, dan kelulushidupan sidat (A. bicolor) terbaik. Elver sidat yang digunakan adalah 320 ekor dengan berat rata-rata 15±1,2 g yang dibudidayakan dalam enam belas akuarium berukuran 80 l yang diisi 40 L air dan diaerasi.  Kepadatan awal 20 ekor/akuarium. Pergantian air dilakukan setiap hari 10% dari total air dan dilakukan pemberian pakan 5% dari biomassa sidat dengan frekuensi pemberian pakan 3 kali sehari, pakan yang diberikan mempunyai kadar protein >50%. Pola rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan adalah A, B, C, dan D masing-masing ditambahkan dengan tepung cacing tanah 0%, 5%, 10%, dan 15% dari total pakan yang diberikan dalam pakan buatan yang telah difermentasi. Variabel yang diukur adalah PER, SGR, EPP, FCR, dan SR. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa fermentasi pakan buatan dan penambahan tepung cacing tanah dalam pakan berbentuk pasta berpengaruh nyata (p<0,05) terhadap pertumbuhan (RGR) ,efisiensi pakan (EPP) dan rasio konversi pakan (FCR) namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelulushidupan (SR) sidat (A. bicolor) dan kombinasi fermentasi pakan buatan dan penambahan tepung cacing tanah dengan dosis 5% (perlakuan B) memberikan pertumbuhan, efisiensi pakan, dan rasio konversi pakan sidat (A. bicolor) terbaik. Kualitas air pada media pemeliharaan masih pada kondisi layak untuk budidaya sidat. The elver of Anguilla bicolor is the kind of fish that the late growth, due to low in digestability and inefficiency to the feed utilization. One of the solutions to accelerate the growth rate is by adding earthworm powder (Lumbricus sp.) and the fermented artificial feed to improve feed nutrition content so the increasing growth. The obyective of this research was to know the effect of  fermented artificial feed and the addition of earthworm powder in pasta artificial feed on the best of growth, feed utilization, and survival rate of A. bicolor in the culture. Elvers of 320 individuals  with an average weight of 15 ± 1.2 g were cultivated in sixteen of  the  circular aquarium with 80 L in volume. Every aquarium was added 40 L of tap water and weekly aeration with initial density of 20 individuals/aquarium.  Everyday was changed 10 % of tap water and added the pasta artificial feed 5 % of elver body weight for three time feeding habit per day with protein content of  >50%.  The treatments were designed by using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replicates.  The culture of treatments A was not added  earthworm powder in the fermented pasta artificial feed. Treatments of B, C, and D were added by earthworm powder of 5 %, 10 %, and 15 % in the fermented pasta artificial feed, respectively.  The variables measured were PER, SGR, EPP, FCR, and SR.  The result showed that the artificial feed with different protein levels highly significant influenced (P<0,05) on the RGR, EPP, and FCR, and there was no significant influences (P>0,05) on the SR of elver.  The treatment B (5 % of earthworm) however showed the best one treatment dosage for elvers growth rate than the other treatments. Water quality in culture media was still in decent condition for the cultivation of eels.
