Abstract

This research develops a comic-based student worksheet to learn about feasibility, learning outcomes, and motivation of the student worksheet. The research was carried out using research and development (R&D) methods with the ADDIE development model. The implementation of this comic-based Student Worksheet uses a pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study were students of class VIII at MTsN 3 Banda Aceh. The samples in this study were 57 students in the class of Abu Bakar Ash Siddiq and Zaid bin Thabit who were selected by purposive sampling. Data collection using validation tests, written tests, and questionnaires. The results of the feasibility test showed that the Developed Student Worksheet was included in the feasible category with an average score of assessments by experts and natural science teachers of 91.25% and 99.03%. Analysis of learning outcomes data using the t-test, obtained tcount>ttable (4.42> 2.01) shows that there are differences in the value of student learning outcomes between the experimental and control classes where the value of the experimental class is higher than the control class. Results of analysis Motivation of students tcount>ttable (15,53> 2,01) also shows the use of comic-based worksheets can increase students' learning motivation so that it can be concluded that the use of comic-based worksheets is feasible, it can improve student learning outcomes and motivation

Abstract

The application of an attractive learning model is one of the things that affect students' motivation and creativity in learning. The review results so far show that learning activities are still using conventional learning models such as direct learning models. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of the guided inquiry learning model in increasing students' motivation and creativity on temperature and heat material at SMAN 4 Wira Bangsa Aceh Barat. The research method used was pre-experimental with one group pretest-posttest design. The instrument used in the study consisted of a questionnaire. The results showed that applying the guided inquiry learning model could increase students' motivation in the matter of temperature and heat. Increasing students' learning motivation can be seen from the average N-gain value of 0.6, including the medium category. The results of the average difference test obtained a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, meaning that there was a significant difference before and after applying the guided inquiry learning model. Then the results of the analysis of indicators on aspects of attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction obtained a score > 80 then included in excellent categories. The application of the guided inquiry learning model can increase students' creativity in the material of temperature and heat. Increasing students' creativity can be obtained an average N-gain value of 0.7, including the high category. The results of the average difference test got a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, meaning that there was a significant difference before and after applying the guided inquiry learning model. The results of the analysis of indicators through the results of questionnaires and observations consisting of fluency, flexibility, and novelty obtained an average score of > 75, including the high category. The conclusion in this study proves that the guided inquiry model can increase students' motivation and creativity on temperature and temperature heat materials

Abstract

Attitudes towards science are attitudes that appear in students before and after learning science. The higher the attitude of students towards science subjects, the higher their learning outcomes will be. On the other hand, the lower the students' attitudes towards science subjects, the lower their learning outcomes will be. This study aims to analyze how students' attitudes towards science. This research method is survey research using the Test of Science Related Attitude (TOSRA) instrument with a 5-point Likert scale on 161 students as the research sample. Data analysis was done by statistical descriptive. The results of the study on five indicators of students' attitudes towards science obtained the highest response, namely the pleasure of learning science was in the agreed criteria (39.40%) and was in the positive category (47.2%); Interest in spending time studying science is in the agreed criteria (37.29%) and is in the positive attitude category (54.7%); Interest in a career in science is found in the agreed criteria (34.43%) and in the positive attitude category (50.3%); The attitude of scientific investigation was obtained with the criteria of agreeing (29.71%) and was in the category of positive attitude (77%); and the social implications of science are obtained on the agreed criteria (37.04%) and are in the positive attitude category (72%). Overall, students' attitudes towards science with the highest responses were found in the agreed criteria (35.56%) with the category of positive attitudes (75.8%) in SMP and MTsN Aceh Jaya District

Abstract

Research in the field of physics education, only focuses on verbal communication such as the ability to ask questions. While communication skills are not only limited to the ability to ask questions. But there is an equally important symbolic communication. The indicators of symbolic communication in question: state the ideas of physics in the form of pictures, interpreting images into physical models, explain physical phenomena into problem solving procedures. The population in this study were all students majoring in Physics Education in the fifth semester of class 2019 and third semester of 2020, and the sample consisted of 38 students. The symbolic communication abilities of prospective physics teacher students at Samudra University are as follows:  The indicator states physics ideas in the form of pictures, 24 people or 63.16% of students can state physics ideas in the form of pictures correctly and completely, The indicator interprets the picture into the physics model, only 1 person or 2.63% of students can connect the picture into the physics model correctly and completely, Indicators explain physical phenomena into problem solving procedures, there are 17 people or 44.74% of students who can explain solving procedures correctly and completely

The research method used in this research is Research & Development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). This research was conducted at SMP IT Luqmanul Hakim Aceh with a sample of 31 seventh-grade students. Sampling using a purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the validity test obtained a percentage of 87.40% with very valid criteria. In addition, the results of the practicality test by the science teachers obtained a percentage of 86.88% with very practical criteria, then the results of the practicality test by students obtained a percentage of 80.78% with practical criteria. Science e-module is effectively used in learning, with the result of obtaining an N-gain value of 0.62. So, it can be concluded that the science e-module based on QISI has been successfully developed which is very valid, practical, and effectively used in solar system learning
