Abstract

The transdermal patch can deliver the active substance with good bioavailability, then made formulations of such preparations from dayak onion extract, which has a compound content of flavonoids, with a combination of polymer PVP K30 and ethyl cellulose to produce transdermal patches with good physical evaluation and penetration. The research aims to carry out the effect and ideal formulation of transdermal patches of dayak onion extract with a combination of polymers PVP K30 and ethyl cellulose based on physical evaluation and penetration—manufacture of transdermal patches using the solvent evaporation method. Physical evaluation includes organoleptic testing, weight uniformity, thickness, folding resistance, and moisture testing. Then evaluate the penetration of the active substance using Franz diffusion cells. Analyze data with One Way ANOVA. The physical evaluation results of weight uniformity, patch thickness, folding resistance, and moisture test of transdermal patches on F1, F2, F3, and F4 meet the requirements. As for the results of penetration tests, F1, F2, F3, and F4 can be penetrated from 120 minutes to 180 minutes with the concentration of active substances that are linearly penetrated. The combination of polymers PVP K30 and ethylcellulose has affected the physical evaluation of transdermal patches of dayak onion extract. Based on the physical evaluation and penetration test in vitro obtained, the most optimal formula results are F3 with comparison PVP K30 and ethyl cellulose (100:300).

Abstract

The high number of deaths from cardiovascular disease in the world makes cardiovascular drugs, such as antihyperlipidemic or dyslipidemia often used by patients in the whole world. Statins are first-line drugs that are often used, but have various side effects, such as myalgia, rhabdomyolysis, and are considered to trigger diabetes mellitus. Meanwhile, the use of traditional medicines such as the Temu mangga’s rhizome (Curcuma mangga Valeton and Zijp) is often used by the community as antihyperlipidemic therapy. The purpose of this study was to scientifically prove the antihyperlipidemic activity of teabags from the methanol fraction of Temu Mangga’s rhizome in reducing lipid profiles, namely total cholesterol, triglycerides, and LDL, as well as increasing HDL. This research method is experimental by measuring the parameters of total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, and HDL as well as the bodyweight of the test animals as additional parameters. The test group was divided into 3 doses, namely 0.35 mg, 0.7 mg, and 1.4 mg per 200 grams of test animals. The results showed that there was no significant difference between all groups, both in lipid profile and bodyweight of the test animals. However, a dose of 1.4 mg had better triglyceride lowering activity than the positive control, and the activity of the methanol fraction of the Temu Mangga’s rhizome was predicted to be similar to statins.

Abstract

Tampoi is one of the many plants found in East Kalimantan, has secondary metabolic content in the form of saponins, flavonoids, and alkaloids, and has antioxidant activity. The antioxidants produced by the human body are not sufficient to fight free radicals, therefore the body requires the intake of antioxidants from the outside, so to help increase public interest in consumption, researchers are interested in making preparations in the form of extracts and formulated as effervescent tablets from tampoi fruit extract which are useful as antioxidants and increase immunity. The purpose of this study was to determine a good formula for making effervescent tablets from tampoi fruit extract with variations of PVP K30 as a binder. Making tablets using direct compression method with an evaluation of effervescent powder including the angle of repose test, flow rate, setting, compressibility, and moisture of the powder. Evaluation of effervescent tablets included organoleptic test, weight uniformity test, tablet friability test, tablet hardness test, and tablet dissolving time test. The results obtained in the evaluation of the effervescent powder, the angle of repose test has met the requirements, while the test for flow velocity, sizing, compressibility, and moisture of the powder has not met the requirements. The results of the physical evaluation of the tablet weight uniformity test on F1 and F2 were in accordance with the requirements, the tablet friability test on F3 and F4 had met the requirements, the F3 tablet hardness test had met the requirements, and the tablet dissolving time test resulted that all formulas met the requirements with the best formula namely F1 which has the fastest tablet dissolution time. The conclusion of the study from the evaluation of the dissolving time which is the main parameter of the effervescent tablet preparation of tampoi fruit extract, the best formula was obtained, namely F1 with a PVP K30 concentration of 0.5 mg resulting in a tablet dissolving time of 01.99 minutes.

Abstract

Wabah virus corona belakangan ini telah menyebar ke berbagai penjuru dunia. World Health Organization (WHO) telah menyatakan bahwa COVID-19 sebagai pandemi global. Penyebaran covid-19 di Kalimantan Selatan berdasarkan data dari Dinas Kesehatan Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan pada tanggal 12 April 2020 terdapat 1.184 Orang Dalam Pemantauan (ODP), 15 Pasien Dalam Pengawasan (PDP), dan 34 pasien positif covid-19 diantaranya ada 28 PDP, 4 pasien yang meninggal dan 2 pasien yang dinyatakan sembuh. Berdasarkan data tersebut kota Banjarmasin melaporkan ada sebanyak 232 ODP, 7 PDP, 14 pasien positif covid-19 sedang dalam perawatan dan 3 pasien meninggal. Hand Sanitizer digunakan sebagai salah satu alternatif jika tidak ditemukannya air untuk melakukan cuci tangan dalam rangka pencegahan dari virus corona. Produk hand sanitizer juga sangat dibutuhkan oleh masyarakat untuk bagian upaya dari menghindarkan paparan virus corona. Kurangnya ketersediaan hand sanitizer di pasaran dan meningkatnya harga jual hand sanitizer membuat masyarakat kesulitan mendapatkan dan sulit untuk membeli. Maka atas dasar tersebut, membuat produk inovaso hand sanitizer menggunakan bahan aktif dari bahan alam khas Kalimantan berupa akar bajakah (Littoralis hask) yang berfungsi untuk menghambat pertumbuhan virus dan bakteri. Serta pembagian produk dan langkah edukasi kepada masyarakat di tengah terjadinya pandemi virus corona. Kata kunci: Produk inovasi, Hand sanitizer, Akar bajakah, Covid-19 ABSTRACT The corona virus outbreak has recently spread to various parts of the world. The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared COVID-19 as a global pandemic. The infection number in South Kalimantan on April 12nd, 2020 were 1,184 people under monitoring (ODP), 15 patients under surveillance (PDP), and 34 positive patients for Covid-19, of whom 28 were PDP, 4 patients who died and 2 patients who were declared cured. Based on these data, the city of Banjarmasin reported that there were 232 ODP, 7 PDP, 14 positive patients with Covid-19 were being treated and 3 patients died. Hand Sanitizer is used as an alternative if water is not found for washing hands in order to prevent the corona virus. Hand sanitizer products are also very much needed by the community as part of the effort to avoid exposure to the corona virus. Lack of availability of hand sanitizers on the market and the increasing selling price of hand sanitizers have made it difficult for people to find and buy. So on this basis, making innovative hand sanitizer products uses active ingredients from natural ingredients typical of Kalimantan in the form of Bajakah roots (Littoralis hask) which functions to inhibit the growth of viruses and bacteria. Abstract

Aromaterapi merupakan metode pengobatan melalui media bau-bauan yang berasal dari bahan tanaman tertentu. Aromaterapi sering digabungkan dengan praktek pengobatan alternatif dan kepercayaan orang yang sudah ada sejak beberapa tahun yang lalu. Lilin aromaterapi adalah alternatif aplikasi aromaterapi secara inhalasi (penghirupan) dan akan menghasilkan aroma yang memberikan efek terapi bila dibakar seperti anti serangga, pengobatan alternatif, penghias, dan pengharum ruangan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan transfer ilmu pengetahuan, keterampilan, kreatifitas, serta meningkatkan jiwa kewirausahaan remaja komunitas pecinta alam di Batola. Kegiatan telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 1 Desember 2019 dengan jumlah peserta sebanyak 15 orang bertempat di Marabahan Kabupaten Barito Kuala Kalimantan Selatan. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah ceramah, diskusi, dan demonstrasi tentang cara pembuatan lilin aromaterapi, manfaat pengolahan kulit jeruk menjadi minyak atsiri sebagai bahan baku pembuatan lilin aroma terapi, serta kiat dalam melakukan wirausaha. Pelatihan dilaksanakan sesuai rencana dengan kegiatan berupa penyampaian materi terkait lilin aroma, manfaat, pembuatan, rencana keuangan serta pemasaran dan dilakukan praktek bersama tentang cara pembuatan lilin aroma terapi untuk meningkatkan kerjasama tim dan dapat membuat lilin aroma terapi sendiri. Peserta pelatihan sangat antusias dalam melakukan kegiatan pengabdian ini, terbukti dengan peran serta aktifnya selama kegiatan berlangsung. Selama ini, masyarakat belum mengetahui tentang lilin aromaterapi yang juga bisa menambah nilai ekonomi para peserta, Peserta juga berharap bahwa pembinaan yang dilakukan oleh Tim Pengabdian dari UNIVERSITAS SARI MULIA, dapat dilakukan secara terus-menerus.

Abstract

Systemic lupus erythematosus is a chronic autoimmune inflammatory disease whose cause is not yet clear, has a wide variety of clinical features and diverse appearance of the disease course. The use of off label drugs such as corticosteroids for the treatment of SLE can result in a large potential side effect for Lupus patients. This study aims to determine the description of the occurrence of side effects on the use of drugs off lupus patients.This research was conducted using a descriptive observational research designby surveying using the Naranjo Algorithm instrument with 28 respondents. Based on research conducted, it was found that the side effects of using off label drugs showed that 12 respondents or 43% experienced Probable classification (most likely ROM. IO). These results indicate that the use of off-label drugs in lupus therapy can pose a risk of the possibility of adverse drug reactions.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Antiseptik adalah senyawa kimia yang digunakan untuk membunuh atau menghambat pertumbuhan mikroorganisme pada jaringan yang hidup seperti permukaan kulit dan membran mukosa. Daun sirih, jeruk nipis, bundung sudah banyak digunakan masyarakat untuk obat. Antiseptik dari poliherbal diyakini lebih aman dari pada zat kimia sintetis.Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kemampuan antiseptik terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dari campuran ekstrak daun sirih, jeruk nipis dan bundung sebagai pengganti antiseptic dari bahan zat kimia sintetis pada tindakan keperawatan dan kebidanan.Metode: Metode penelitian adalah eksperimental dengan membuat formulasi uji konsentrasi F1 20%, F2 30%, F3 F4 40% dan F5 50% dan diujikan terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dengan metode difusi disk.Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa daya antiseptik Daun Sirih, Jeruk Nipis dan  Bundung efektif sebagai antiseptic pada konsentrasi 40%  dengan efektifitas yang sama dari bahan antiseptic zat kimia sintetis. Konsentrasi  F1 20% tidak ada daya hambat dengan nilai yang sama pada kontrol negatif, pada F2 30% terdapat daya hambat lemah sebesar 7 mm, pada F3 40% terdapat daya hambat kuat sebesar 23 mm sama dengan kontrol positif, dan pada F4 50% terdapat daya hambat sangat kuat lebih besar dari kontrol positif yaitu 40 mm.Simpulan: Antiseptik dari bahan alam kombinasi Daun Sirih, Jeruk Nipis dan Bundung pada konsentrasi 40% mempunyai efektifitas antiseptic yang sama dari antiseptic dengan bahan zat kimia sintetis. Antiseptik poliherbal ini bisa digunakan untuk keperluan tindakan keperawatan dan kebidanan. Kata Kunci: Daun sirih-kulit jeruk nipis-tanaman bundung, antiseptik, tindakan keperawatan dan kebidananAbstractBackground: Antiseptic is a chemical compound used to kill or inhibit the growth of microorganisms in living tissues such as the surface of the skin and mucous membranes. Betel leaf, lime, bundung have been widely used by the community for medicine. Antiseptics from polyherbal are believed to be safer than synthetic chemicals.Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the antiseptic ability of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria from a mixture of betel, lime, and bundung extracts as an antiseptic substitute for synthetic chemicals in nursing and obstetrics.Methods: The research method was experimental by making test formulations with concentrations of F1 20%, F2 30%, F3 F4 40%, and F5 50% and tested against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria using the disk diffusion method.Results: The results showed that the antiseptic power of Betel, Lime and Bundung leaves was effective as an antiseptic at a concentration of 40% with the same effectiveness of synthetic chemical antiseptic substances. The concentration of F1 20% has no inhibitory power with the same value in the negative control, at F2 30% there is a weak inhibitory power of 7 mm, at F3 40% there is a strong inhibitory power of 23 mm, the same as the positive control, and at F4 50% there is Very strong inhibition power is greater than the positive control, which is 40 mm.Conclusion: Antiseptic made from natural ingredients a combination of Betel, Lime, and Bundung Leave at a concentration of 40% has the same antiseptic effectiveness as antiseptic with synthetic chemical substances. Abstract

Genus of Dendrobium orchid produces secondary metabolites namely medicinal alkaloid, the main alkaloid in dendrobium is dendrobine. Orchid plant parts that contain secondary metabolites in large quantities are in the form of protocorm like bodies (PLB). This research is about how to do an initiation of PLB from the seed of Dendrobium sylvanum. The aim of this research is to determine the concentration of giberelin (GA3) in Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium for PLB optimal initiation. Seed culture was cultivated in MS medium supplemented with GA3 in 3 concentrations: GA3 1 ppm; GA3 2 ppm; and GA3 4 ppm. The result showed the concentration that can give the optimal growth is GA3 1 ppm based on the appeareance of PLB, colour of PLB, diameter of PLB, growth index, and anatomy of PLB.

Abstract

COVID-19 merupakan jenis penyakit baru yang harus diwaspadai karena penyebaran wabah tersebut berlangsung sangat cepat. Sistem imun yang lemah seringkali menyebabkan virus akan lebih mudah menginfeksi seseorang, sebab itu perlu adanya upaya dalam meningkatkan sistem imun tubuh. Pelatihan diberikan kepada masyarakat umum yang dalam hal ini bersedia diberikan pengarahan secara online via zoom meeting. Dalam pelatihan ini, peserta diberikan materi tentang COVID-19 dan cara pengolahan permen jahe. Tujuan dilakasanakannya pengabdian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan produk berupa permen jahe sebagai peningkat imunitas tubuh dimasa pandemi yang juga dapat dijadikan sebagai wirausaha baru bagi masyarakat sehingga dapat meningkatkan nilai ekonomi. Permen jahe yang dihasilkan dalam pelatihan ini bertekstur kenyal menyerupai jeli, memiliki rasa manis disertai sensasi hangat yang berasal dari jahe. Pelatihan ini berjalan dengan lancar dan memberikan dampak positif berdasarkan hasil post-test yang menunjukan peningkatan pengetahuan peserta pelatihan tentang cara mengolah permen jahe yang bermanfaat bagi imunitas tubuh di masa pandemi. Kata kunci: Permen jahe, pandemi, imunitas ABSTRACT COVID-19 is a new type of disease to watch out for because the spread of the outbreak is very fast. A weakened immune system often causes the virus to more easily infect a person, therefore there needs to be efforts in improving the body's immune system. Training is given to the general public who in this case are willing to be briefed online via zoom meeting. In this training, participants were given material about COVID-19 and how to process ginger candy. The purpose of this devotion is to produce products in the form of ginger candy as an increase in body immunity in the pandemic period which can also be used as a new entrepreneur for the community so as to increase economic value. Ginger candy produced in this training chewy texture resembles jelly, has a sweet taste accompanied by a warm sensation derived from ginger. This training runs smoothly and has a positive impact based on post-test results that show an increase in the knowledge of trainees on how to process ginger candy that is beneficial for immunity in pandemic times. Abstract

Background: Turmeric rhizome extract (Curcuma domestica Val.) is a plant that contains curcumin compounds that have the potential to be antioxy and useful for healing canker sores. Current pharmaceutical technology continues to develop, one of which is in particles that are made smaller into nanoparticles as a drug delivery system where the particle size or globule that is reduced in the mouthwash is changed to be smaller and called nanomouthwash to improve the quality of absropsy in the use of mouthwash. Objective: : Knowing the physical quality of nanomouthwash preparations from turmeric rhizome extract (Curcuma domestica Val.) as a treatment of thrush and knowing the stability of the formulation of nanomouthwash preparations from turmeric rhizome extract as a treatment of Ulce.. Methods: The research method used is quasi-experimental time series design. nanomouthwash preparations of turmeric rhizome extract are made in 1 formulation with an extract concentration of 6.96 grams with Characteristic Evaluation and Physical Evaluation. Result: Evaluation of Characteristics which includes Evaluation of Particle Size worth 20.4 nm, PI worth 0.39 and Zeta Potential -5.5 mV while in Physical Evaluation obtained results which include Evaluation of Organoleptical, pH, Homogeneity and Viscosity have been appropriate in Stability Tests at room temperature and cold temperature. Conclusion: : Characteristic Evaluation and Physical Evaluation get the appropriate results and Stability Tests at room temperature and cold temperatures have an effect on pH and Viscosity evaluations, especially on days 14 and 21.
