Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan klorin dalam bentuk natrium hipoklorit yang dipaparkan secara in vitro untuk menguji kemampuan oosit ikan lele dalam menoleransi kehadiran klorin sebagai bahan oksidatif stres dalam medium kultur. Konsentrasi klorin yang digunakan adalah 0, 10, 20, 40, 80, 160, dan 320 μM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi konsentrasi paparan semakin rendah jumlah oosit yang mampu bertahan hidup hingga 4 jam pengamatan. Konsentrasi klorin 320 μM menghasilkan jumlah oosit yang mampu bertahan hidup paling optimum. Disimpulkan bahwa oosit ikan lele mampu menoleransi kehadiran bahan oksidatif stres dalam medium kultur dengan konsentrasi paparan klorin sebanyak 320 μM.

Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the role of inhibin in the regulation of oocytesmaturation. Inhibin was isolated from goat granulose cells and injected by intraperitoneal in to femaleNile-Tilapia. Three days later its gonad was taken by decapitation and the change of oocyte was evaluatedunder microscope. Results showed that average of percentages of oocytes that undergo maturated after exposed with inhibin of 0, 20, 40, and 60µg/individual 50.05, 29.44, 21.46, and 30.83%, respectively.The exposure of doses of goat inhibin in Nile-Tilapia showed significantly different (P0.01) to percentages of mature oocytes. It was conluded that exposition of goat inhibin from granulose cells caninducing the maturation of Nile-Tilapia oocytes.Keywords: inhibin, maturation, oocytes

Abstract

Pearl oysters (Pinctada maxima) are one of the favorite marine species with very potential selling value. P. maxima in Indonesian waters is known to produce quite large pearls. In the breeding process, temperature and salinity are the main factors in egg hatching. Therefore, the aim of this research is to determine the effect of differences in salinity levels on the hatchability of mutiata oyster (P. maxima) eggs in Kupang Bay. This research was carried out using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method, where there were 3 treatments, namely 28 ppt, 31 ppt, 34 ppt, with 3 replications. The results obtained were that the use of different salinities had no significant effect on egg hatchability. However, based on research results, the highest value was 31 ppt salinity with a value of 66.10%.

Abstract

Mud crab (S. serrata) is known as a fishery commodity with high economic value. Mangrove crabs are naturally omnivorous, eating various types of organisms that live in the mangrove ecosystem such as decaying leaves, algae, roots, nuts, toads, snails, shrimps, clams, dead animals and fish. This study used gold snail combined with ikan rucah as feed to determine the percentage of the best combination in feed on the growth and survival of mangrove crabs (S. serrata). A completely randomized design was used and consisted of three treatments and three replicates, namely the provision of gold snail and small fish with a percentage ratio: (a) 25:75, (b) 50:50 and (c) 75:25. The results showed that the highest crab growth (absolute weight) was 46.63 g when fed with gold snail and fish waste in the ratio of 25:75 while the growth in the 50:50 and 25:75 treatments was only 31.23 g and 31.31 g, respectively. The results of this study then concluded that gold snails can trigger the growth of mud crabs if the portion is less than the main food in the form of fishmeal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pertumbuhan dan kelulushidupan kepiting bakau (Scylla Serrata) yang diberikan pakan alami yang berbeda . Penelitian ini dilakukan selama 2 bulan di CV Elitsm NTT Kelurahan Oesapa barat Kota Kupang. Dalam penelitian ini ikan uji yang digunakan yaitu kepiting bakau sebanyak 24 ekor dengan berat dengan berat 70-90 gram. Penelitian menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan 3 ulangan, dengan A = pemberian ikang parang-parang sebanyak 5% dari berat kepiting bakau, B= pemberian pakan belut sebanyak 5% dari berat kepiting bakau, C = Pemberian pakan usus ayam sebanyak 5% dari berat kepiting bakau dan D= pemberian pakan keong sawah sebanyak 5% dari berat kepiting bakau. Parameter yang diamati meliputi pertumbuhan bobot mutlak,kelulushidupan, kualitas air, dan jumlah kepiting molting. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pertumbuhan mutlak dan molting tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan D yaitu pemberian keong sawah 5%,  dan kelulushidupan pada semua perlakuan 100%.Kata kunci : Kepiting bakau; ikan parang-prang; belut sawah; usus ayam; keong sawah; pertumbuhan; molting; kelulushidupan; kualitas air
