Abstract

This research was aim to know  the special quality UMKM’s comodity in Cirebon, West Java.The research was conducted using survey method and the samples were 105 responden. The respondents were selected using purposive random sampling, This research started from September 2007 until the November 2007. The data collected were analyzed with sectoral qualitative anlysis method. The result  of the research showed that, the special quality comodities in Cirebon are sugar reed, shrimp, rattan, rice, belinjo, and batik. The aspects that very influential to them  are modal, production process and government capability.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the performance of  partnership patterns of cassava farming in Plant Earth Sane, factors  associated with the decision-making of farmers switching partnership from cane farming to cassava farming, and  a comparison between  cassava farming income and cane farming income. The survey method was conducted in Central Lampung regency by interviewing 21 cassava farmers chosen purposively as respondents.  Data were collected in December 2015 to May 2016 and analyzed using Kendall Partial Analysis. The results showed that the performance of cassava farming partnership system are at a very adequate classification in terms of financial aid, processing yields, profit-sharing system, the requirements of the partnership, and farming income. Farmers’ decisions to switch partnership from cane farming to cassava farming were determined by technical factors of cultivation, social pressures, marketing of the crop, profit-sharing system, capital aid, the requirements of the partnership, farm income, the distance from farming land to cassava processing factory, and the desire of farmers to cultivate their own land. Cassava farming income per ha/season is Rp13,282,985.13 with R/C of 2.15, greater than those of sugarcane farming with  income of Rp11,403,828.63 and R/C of 2.13.Key words : cassava, farm, partnership, sugarcane

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to find out level of cocoa farmers’ perception toward cocoa farming Integrated Pest Management Field School (SL-PHT) program in increaseing cocoa productivity and farm income and factors related to cocoa farmers’ perception toward SL-PHT program in increaseing cocoa productivity and farm income. This research was conducted in Sukoharjo 1 Village as one of villages where the cocoa SL-PHT program took place. This study was held in August until October 2013. Twenty-six farmers as respondents were selected by using a census method. Analysis methods used in this research are descriptive and Rank Spearman’s correlation. The results showed that the level of cocoa farmers’ perception toward SL-PHT program was in a good classification, and cocoa SL-PHT program was beneficial in increasing productivity, income, and pest disease control of cocoa plants, the level of farming experience, level of farming knowledge, and level of farmers’ social interaction had a correlation to the level of cocoa farmers’ perception toward SL-PHT program in increasing cocoa productivity and farm income.  Whereas, level of farmers’ living need fulfillment had no correlation to the level of cocoa farmers’ perception toward SL-PHT program. Abstract

This research aims to determine the institutional system in the management of oil palm farming partnership implementation, determine the implementation of partnerships between PTPN VII and oil palmfarmers, and analyze the financial feasibility of oil palm  farmers who involvein the partnership in Tanjung Jaya Village of Bangun Rejo District, Lampung Tengah Regency. The study was conducted inTanjung Jaya Village of Bangun Rejo District, Central Lampung Regency.Based on the age of plants, 36 famers wererandomly selected as respondents from 46 farmers who joined the partnership. The research data were analyzed using Gross B/C, Net B/C, NPV (Net Present Value), IRR (Internal Rate of Return), and PP (Payback Period). The results showed that institutional system in the management of oil palm farming andthe implementationof partnership between PTPN VII and farmers was operated effectively both in personnel and systems of norms, as well as the physical equipment. Implementation of the partnership was a core-plasm partnership. The company served as a capital lender, in the form of ready planted oil palm seedlings, and accompanied by technical guidances and counseling in the form of direct guidance on planting, maintenance, and good harvesting.  Cultivation of oil palm by farmers who joined the company was financially viable to be developed, had a Gross value of B/C equal to 1.6616; Net B/C 1.9519; NPV 27383347.824; IRR 23.71%, and PP of 9 years.Key words: financial feasibility, institutional system, oil palm farming, partnership

Abstract

This study aims to find out the performance of the P2BN Program, to find out the level of rice farmers’ participation in the P2BN Program and to study the factors that influence the rice farmer participation in the P2BN Program. The research method used is a survey. The location is determined intentionally in subdistricts Seputih Mataram Central Lampung regency in November - December 2016.  Sample units are 95 rice farmers. The analyses of data used descriptive method and used Rank-Spearman correlation to test the hypothesis. The results of the research showed that: the performance of P2BN Program in planning, implementation, profit utilization, and evaluation in Seputih Mataram Subdistrict of Central Lampung Regency is in high classification, The level of rice farmer participation in P2BN Program is in middle classification.  Factors significantly related to farmers’ participation in implementation of P2BN Program are knowledge on P2BN Program and social support.  Meanwhile, the large of arable land, income level, and facility received by farmers do not have relationship with their participation in the P2BN Program.Key words: P2BN Program,  participation, Seputih Mataram

Abstract

This research aimed to determine factors that related to the role of BUM Pekon Mandiri Bersatu manager, the changes of customer’s income before and after being a member of BUM Pekon Mandiri Bersatu, and obstacles were impression by BUM Pekon Mandiri Bersatu manager to carry out their duties. The research was conducted on Gisting Bawah Village of Gisting Subdistrict, Tanggamus Regency purposively. The samples of this research were 10 persons of BUM Pekon Mandiri Bersatu manager and 46 customers who is the members of BUM Pekon Mandiri Bersatu. The research data collection was conducted from March 2017 until April 2017. The research data was analyzed descriptively, by Rank Spearman and t test difference. The results showed that: there is definite relationship between human resource quality variable and work environment with the role of manager of BUM Pekon Mandiri Bersatu and there is no definite relationship between customers’ support and wage or salary with the role of manager of BUM Pekon Mandiri Bersatu; there is a change in the customers income level who are members’ of BUM Pekon Mandiri Bersatu between before and after being a members of BUM Pekon Mandiri Bersatu, and obstacles were impression by BUM Pekon Mandiri Bersatu manager were capital and customer complaint problem.Key words: BUM Pekon Mandiri Bersatu, customer, income, management, role

Abstract

The purposes of this research are to analyze implementation of bioindustrial program, the level of farmer’s participation,and factors associated with participation.Research was conducted in August-September 2017.  All 44 farmer members of four farmer groups carying out the Bioindustry program are respondents. Data were analyzed descriptively using Rank Spearman correlation test. Results showed that the program is implemented well and structured.  The implementation phase consists of: village potential surveys, formation of farmer groups, and socialization and training activities. The four farmer groups conduct different activities, namely: makinh biogas by Tunas Harapan farmer group, making biourine by Harapan Jaya farmer group, and making compost by Mulia Jaya and Mekar Berseri farmer groups. The products of Bioindustry program are exhibited among farmer groups. The participation rate of farmers in the program is classified as high. Factors related to farmers' participation in the Bioindustry program are frequency on extension activities, land size, and the number of cattle owned.Key words: bioindustry, implementation, participation

Abstract

This research aims to know corn productivity level in the working area of the extension center (BPPP) Natar Subdistrict, the level of Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs) in the BPPP, factors related to the level of the performance of AEWs, the level of satisfaction of corn farmers on the performance of AEWs, and  the relationship between the level of performance of AEWs and the level of satisfaction of corn farmers.  Research conducted in BPPP Natar Subdistrict, South Lampung Subdistrict uses a survey method.  The sample in this study consisted of eight AEWs and 54 corn farmers.  Data analysis method uses a descriptive method and Rank Spearman correlation.  The results showed the average level of corn farming productivity in the Natar Subdistrict is 6,49 tons/ha.  The performance of AEWs is good.  The factors related to the performance of AEWs are the age of the AEWs, working period of the AEWs, and availability of facilities and infrastructure.  The level of satisfaction of corn farmers on the performance of AEWs in Natar Subdistrict is moderately satisfied, and the level of performance of AEWs has a significant relationship with the level of satisfaction of corn farmers in the Natar Subdistrict. Key words: agriculture extension workers, farmer satisfaction, performance

Abstract

Peranan penyuluh pertanian lapangan (PPL) dalam meningkatkan produktivitas usahatani petani sangat penting. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui 1) kinerja PPL, tingkat kepuasan petani terhadap kinerja PPL, tingkat produktivitas usahatani, dan pendapatan usahatani, 2) faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan tingkat kinerja PPL, 3) hubungan antara tingkat kinerja PPL dengan tingkat kepuasan petani, dan 4) hubungan antara kinerja PPL dan tingkat kepuasan petani dengan produktivitas dan pendapatan usahatani petani. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Natar, Kabupaten Lampung Selatan, sedangkan metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei. Responden penelitian terdiri dari 8 orang PPL dan 54 petani jagung. Metode analisis data menggunakan metode deskriptif, sedangkan pengujian hipotesis menggunakan metode statistik nonparametrik Koefisien Korelasi Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 1) kinerja penyuluh pertanian lapangan (PPL) tergolong baik; tingkat kepuasan petani terhadap kinerja penyuluh pertanian lapangan (PPL) tergolong cukup puas; dan rata-rata produktivitas usahatani petani jagung sebesar 6,49 ton/ha; rata-rata pendapatan usahatani jagung sebesar Rp 10.143.750,00/Ha, 2) faktor- faktor yang berhubungan dengan kinerja PPL adalah umur PPL, masa kerja PPL, dan ketersediaan sarana dan prasarana, sedangkan yang tidak berhubungan dengan tingkat kinerja PPL adalah tingkat pendidikan dan status PPL, 3) tingkat kinerja PPL memiliki hubungan yang nyata dengan tingkat kepuasan petani jagung, dan 4) kinerja PPL dan kepuasan petani berhubungan nyata dengan produktivitas dan pendapatan usahatani petani.
