Abstract

McDonald’s is one of fast food company that is growing rapidly. McDonald’s continues to innovate to satisfy customers. It introduced the concept of a cafe with the name McCafe. Because of the competition with other fast food restaurants, McDonald’s needs to improve the quality of McCafe favored by customers. Thus, this research was conducted to aim at getting the indicators that are best describing customers characteristic. This research used discriminant analysis methods. Discriminant analysis was used to classify customers into groups of loyal customers or non loyal customers.. The indicators that distinguished the decision of the customer to buy McCafe Jimbaran product were affordable prices and locations that are easily accessible to customers. The formed discriminant function had an accuracy of 91,67 percent in classifying the customers.

Abstract

Controlling the quality of learning is very important and influences the accreditation of study programs at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Udayana University, as a guarantor of the quality of graduates. Apply pricipal component analysis to reduce the number of determinant attributes of learning quality, with the aim of looking at the data structure with fewer variables. The control chart is a multivariate control chart that is used to view the potrait of the quality of learning in the Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty, using new variables obtained from principal component analysis. The results obtained from principal component analysis show that the contribution of the learning quality indicators is univen. The potrait of the quality of learning at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences obtained from the individual-moving range (I-MR) and the control chart shows the need for corrective actions and monitor regularly to improve the quality of learning.

Abstract

This paper aimed to determine long-run equilibrium the tourist arrivals, inflation, exchange rate and gross domestic regional product (GDRP) of Bali Province used Johansen’s cointegration test. First examined whether each stationary variables using augmented dickey fuller (ADF) test. ADF test showed GDRP of Bali, tourist arrivals, and exchange rate are not stationary, so it is assumed stationary in first lag or I(1). While inflation is stationary in level or I(0). Johansen’s cointegration test showed the tourist arrivals, inflation, exchange rate and GDRP of Bali are not cointegrated. Notice that there is no long-run equilibrium, it can not be concluded for structural equation models.

Abstract

Economic development are described by the unemployment rate. The higher unemployment rate, the weaker economic conditions. Nowadays more policies require information on small areas. The direct estimation does not provide accurate results in smaller areas. Thus the small area estimation becomes an alternative to estimate the parameters. The accuracy depends on the selection of the predictors. In 2019, the unemployment rate in Denpasar is 2,22%. The result shows that the unemployment rate in each district in Denpasar varies from 0,1% to 0,3%

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the influence of the image of the destination towards internal motivation and external motivation, internal motivation and external motivation against travelers, the influence of taourist motivation towards the stratification of tourists holidaying in the village of Sanur. The population in this research is the elderly tourists on vacation to the village of Sanur with sample as much 100 sample and sample “technique used is Accidentalsampling techniques. This research method using Partial Least Square with 3 variables second order in the variable image of tourist destination, motivation, satification of tourists and 6 first orde variable the explain the motivation variable satisfaction of tourists and travelers. The results of the research show that the image of destinations likely to affect external motivation path coefficient with a value amounting to 0.939 on the tourist motivation more dominant external motivation that affect the value of the coefficient of 0.836. While the motivations of tourist proved to influence that satisfaction of travelers with coefficients of 0.402.

Abstract

Linear regression analysis is one of the parametric statistical methods which utilize the relationship between two or more quantitative variables. In linear regression analysis, there are several assumptions that must be met that is normal distribution of errors, there is no correlation between the error and error variance is constant and homogent. There are some constraints that caused the assumption can not be met, for example, the correlation between independent variables (multicollinearity), constraints on the number of data and independent variables are obtained. When the number of samples obtained less than the number of independent variables, then the data is called the microarray data. Least Absolute shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) and Partial Least Squares (PLS) is a statistical method that can be used to overcome the microarray, overfitting, and multicollinearity. From the above description, it is necessary to study with the intention of comparing LASSO and PLS method. This study uses coronary heart and stroke patients data which is a microarray data and contain multicollinearity. With these two characteristics of the data that most have a weak correlation between independent variables, LASSO method produces a better model than PLS seen from the large RMSEP.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine public satisfaction level for the quality of Bali Mandara Highway service and to determine the dominant variable influencing public satisfaction level. This research implemented by using Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) and Servqual model. This research was conducted in Badung Regency in the period of March to June 2015. Data were collected by using questionnaires that were distributed directly to 150 users of respondents. The result shows that the public haven’t been satisfied with service quality provided by Jasamarga. Meanwhile the empathy, responsiveness and tangible are significantly influencing public satisfaction level to Bali Mandara Highway service quality. We also showed that empathy provide a dominant influence to public satisfaction level.

Abstract

Poisson regression can be used to analyze count data, with assuming equidispersion. However, in the case of overdispersion often occur in the count data. The implementation of Poisson Regression can not be applied on this data because the data having overdispersion, that will lead to underestimate the standard error. Thus, use Quasi-Likelihood regression on this data. Quasi-Likelihood regression was also could not handle the overdispersion, but Quasi-Likelihood regression can improve the value of the standard error becomes greater than the value of the standard error on Poisson regression. Thus, by using the Quasi-Likelihood regression obtained three independent variables that affect the number of divorce cases in each urban city of Denpasar in 2011.

Abstract

This research is aimed to determine the factors that significantly influence consumer perception in buying imported fruits using structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis. The study use 164 data obtained from questionnaire, which respondents were aged 18 years old or above, from Gianyar Regency, had bought and had felt imported fruits. The study use 4 latent variables (perception, product, personal, culture) with 19 measured variables. The results showed that consumer knowledge about imported fruits (product) and culture about the use of imported fruits in traditional ceremonies (culture) were significantly influence consumer perception about consumption of imported fruit (perception).

Abstract

Regression analysis is used to study the relationship between dependent (response) variable with one or more independent (causal) variables. While response data were censored, then Tobit regression model could be applied.  According to Greene (2003), censored data were data with incomplete observation or the dependent variable has a value of zero, while for the other observations have particular value.  This research aimed to model dairy milk’s consumption from households at Bali Province.  By using data from Survey SosialEkonomiNasional (SUSENAS) or Social Economy’s National Survey (SENS) for year 2012, 615 households were selected as sampling unit using simple random sampling technique, and found 123 households who consumed dairy milk.  The independent variables in our model were last education level completed by head of household’s (X1), head of household’s work (X2), age of head of household’s (X3),  amount of expenditure for food consumption’s (X4), number of household members (X5), and household income (X6), the response variable was budget for buying dairy milk (Y).  From six independent variables, is found only last education level by head household and amount of expenditure for food consumption had siginficant effect on Y’s.  The final Tobit regression model were obtained using AIC (Akaike Information Criterion) method is Y = -3314724 + 565429,7 X1 + 0,014278 X4 with pseudo R2 as much as 16.79 per cent.
