Since emotional intelligence receives much attention in the context of academic success and intellectual humility is frequently studied in the context of career path, research concerning the relationship between emotional intelligence and intellectual humility on academic achievement is a necessity. This study aims to investigate that relationship while contributing to higher education on the insight to an employable graduate. The quantitative approach was implemented as the research framework by applying independent t-test and multiple regression in the first and second phases respectively. We found that the total score of intellectual humility and emotional intelligence for students (male and female) in the first year have a significant effect, while only the total score of intellectual humility among male in the second year has a significant effect on GPA (n = 531). Acknowledging academic achievement is an important variable in student’s academic process and intellectual humility to continuously plan, adapt, adjust, and evaluate their set of competencies, while simultaneously their engagement in a non-academic activity should be fostered. Besides, we suggest a mentor programme on both career and academic dimensions to make them enjoy and comfortable during their educational process. An understanding of IH during the educational process is impossible without serious attention to emotion, including the religious dimension.

Some literature studies showed that to get a better career in the contemporary work environment, students need to develop critical thinking skills, problem solving, emotional intelligence, teamwork, and communication. There is, however, in fact a doubt that educational institutions do not sufficiently provide the needed skills to cope with work competition. While World Economic Forum 2020 indicated about 15 skills that have increasing demand in workplace, educational institutions show slow responses toward the demand which means that students might obtain these skills in the context of non-academic learning process. Some of these skills such as critical thinking analysis, complex problems solving, and analytical thinking and innovation has become the prerequisite skills for the today career. Thus, students need to prepare themselves by increasing the knowledge and skills needed in the future. In virtue of the work demands, educational institutions need to design their curriculum in accordance with the work environment as to be able in bridging a transition from school to work environment.

Pendidikan memiliki tujuan mulia yaitu mencetak generasi tangguh yang berkualitas. Kampus sebagai institusi pendidikan perlu memperhatikan adanya kebutuhan mahasiswa untuk mencapai visi dan misi dari pendidikan. Dalam rangka mempersiapkan diri atas perubahan revolusi industry 4.0 maka pendidikan turut memiliki andil. Pusat karir sebagai salah satu unit pengelolaan mahasiswa di kampus perlu melakukan peningkatan layanan pengelolaan mahasiswa sebagai langkah pengembangan SDM. Pusat karir memiliki tanggung jawab untuk melakukan pengelolaan SDM di kampus akhirnya perlu meningkatkan layanannya. Tidak terbatas pada persoalan link and match perguruan tinggi dan industri sebagai hilir dari proses pendidikan. Tetapi perlu mendesain layanan yang berfokus pada penyelesaian persoalan mahasiswa hingga memiliki kesejahteraan psikologis yang mantap. Dengan demikian harapannya dimiliki corak karakter mahasiswa yang tangguh yaitu siap menghadapi tantangan sebagai permulaan membangun perencanaan karir yang mantap. Model pengembangan layanan pusat karir yaitu hingga menyentuh pada kebutuhan kesejahteraan psikologis yang harus diperhatikan. Fokus pada persoalan akademis dan kognitif mahasiswa merupakan paradigm lama yang harus mulai digeser.

The story of the stepmother in almost all cultures often describes her as evil, ambitious, and cruel. This paper presents a comparative study of two Indonesian folklore that presents the theme of stepmother. Through a structural and sociological approach, it is found that the storyline is not much different from the folktale of the stepmother in general. What distinguishes it is the heroic or supernatural part of it gets less emphasis even though it still remain exists. Apparently, such stories need special attention (revision), especially for the formation of a stepmother image in the midst of society so that negative stigma does not adversely affect the child's life

Dewasa ini, penggunaan teknologi dalam dunia usaha telah berkembang dan menjadi salah satu indikator dalam perkembangan ekonomi masyarakat. Bertujuan meningkatkan potensi ekonomi masyarakat melalui penggunaan media sosial, penelitian diadakan di salah satu RW Kelurahan Gebang Putih. Dengan metode analisa regresi dengan tingkat keberartian (p-value) antara 0.05-0.1 dan deskriptif-kualitatif dalam bentuk pemaparan strategi pemasaran, kecenderungan masyarakat dipengaruhi oleh faktor durabilitas usaha yang dijalani berdasar pada semangat dan kegemaran (passion) serta tingkat Pendidikan. Hasil ini memperlihatkan bahwa penggunaan teknologi belum sepenunya diyakini dapat membantu perekonomian mengingat dampak dari manfaat yang diberikan oleh teknologi media sosial itu sendiri maupun karena kemudahan dalam penggunaannya sehari-hari. Kata Kunci: teknologi, media sosial, durabilitas usaha, Pendidikan.

In a health crisis, social media is one of the primary means of disseminating and receiving information. Nevertheless, questions remain regarding what facilitates individual engagement in sharing or receiving information in the context of COVID-19, specifically for the Indonesian context. Analysis of a questionnaire survey among 255 from the random population of Indonesian showed that sharing information is predicted by gender and education. There was no significant relationship between social-demographic and receiving information. For psychosocial characteristics, personal risk perception predicted receiving information, while sharing information was predicted by societal risk perception. Societal risk perception and self-efficacy interacted with each other to predict the sharing of COVID-19-related information. One of the findings indicated a socio-cultural feature through which is considered to play an important role in personal and societal risk perception when sharing or expressing information. Given the benefits of social media communication during this pandemic, this study suggested that governments and policymakers should pay closer attention to a local community that is more effective in keeping everyone safe. Unfortunately, on another side, social media provides less information about narratives, storytelling, and empathy to maintain public trust.

This study reveals how Virtual Landscape Linguistics (VLL) in Ubud-Bali can describe the community’s attitude when facing the global tourism industry. Data in shop signboards, information boards, and building names were collected using documentation techniques through the Google Street View application (update 2019–2021) along Raya Ubud Street, Bali, Indonesia. The selected data represents the categories of language variation and monolingual-multilingual signs. The findings show that English is used in most commercial signage, both monolingual and multilingual outdoor signs. On the other hand, the local language is seen on monolingual and multilingual outdoor signs in traditional restaurants, information boards, and vernacular building names. Through the display of English signage, tourists worldwide can see that Ubud has provided complete accommodation needs for foreign tourists. In addition, tourists can also see that the use of local languages such as Indonesian and Balinese on commercial signage and vernacular buildings shows the authentic value and culture of the local community as a tourist attraction. This study shows that VLL in the context of tourism has two functions. First, VLL helps travelers plan and organize their vacations better. Second, VLL allows stakeholders to promote their tourist areas virtually without neglecting their natural appearance.

Konektivitas manusia dan teknologi merupakan kata kunci dalam memenangkan persaingan di era Industrial Revolution 4.0. Konektivitas tersebut kemudian mendorong terjadinya perubahan yang signifikan dalam berbagai bidang kehidupan manusia. Perubahan yang paling jelas terlihat adalah pada bidang ekonomi (bisnis). Hal itu tercermin dari bergesernya paradigma bisnis dari owner menjadi sharing, yang memungkinkan setiap orang memiliki kesempatan yang sama untuk memulai bisnisnya masing-masing tanpa terkendala modal, jarak, dan waktu. Bagi masyarakat Kejawan Gebang Putih, kesempatan demikian menjadi terkendala oleh kesulitan dalam pembuatan pembukuan keuangan. Masalah utama terletak pada bukan pada faktor mencapai keuntungan, malainkan bagaimana mengelola keuntungan terebut menjadi modal yang bisa diputar untuk usaha lain atau menambah jenis usaha. Hasil pengabdian memperlihatkan kemajuan dalam usaha baik kuliner maupun jasa saat masyarakat setempat sudah memahami bagaimana pembukuan keuangan dijalankan.

Perpustakaan Lentera, yang berlokasi di Desa Begadon, Kecamatan Gayam, Kabupaten Bojonegoro merupakan salah satu perpustakaan desa terbaik di Jawa Timur. Perpustakaan ini pernah memenangkan kategori Perpustakaan Desa (Perpusdes) atas upaya desa yang secara aktif melibatkan masyarakat untuk ikut berperan aktif mendirikan serta mengembangkannya. Perpustakaan ini sebelumnya berkembang dari perpustakaan SDN Begadon. Permasalahan terjadi setelah Perpustakaan Lentera mendapatkan hibah gedung baru dalam upaya keberlanjutan utilitas perpusdes sebagai pusat pengembangan kapasitas masyarakat desa. Perpustakaan Lentera perlu berkembang menjadi menjadi sebuah perpustakaan terpadu, dimana masyarakat dapat memperoleh segala bentuk informasi dari tempat ini dan menjadi lebih mandiri dan berdaya secara ekonomi dan kesejahteraan setelah memperoleh berbagai pengetahuan baru yang tersedia di perpustakaan desa tersebut. Oleh sebab itu, tim pengabdi bersama pengelola desa dan perpusdes bersama-sama berupaya menyelesaikan masalah dengan beberapa metode yaitu Focus Group Discussion, pelatihan, dan sosialisasi langsung kepada masyarakat desa. Hasil yang telah dicapai antara lain peningkatan literasi masyarakat melalui sosialisasi dan pelatihan, peningkatan awareness perpusdes melalui publikasi media audio visual, serta pemberian rekomendasi kepada pemangku kepentingan perpusdes untuk menjamin keberlangsungan kegiatan literasi di Desa Begadon.
