Abstract

Masalah utama dalam penelitian ini yaitu bagaimana kemampuan berpikir kritis dalam memecahkan masalah matematika ditinjau dari perbedaan gender pada siswa kelas VIII.1 SMP Negeri 2 Labakkang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika ditinjau dari perbedaan gender. Analisis keterampilan berpikir kritis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kriteria dari Ennis yang terdiri dari Focus, Reason, Inference, Clarity and Overview. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII.1 SMP Negeri 2 Labakkang sebanyak empat orang siswa yaitu dua orang siswa laki-laki dan dua orang siswa perempuan. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah instrumen utama yaitu peneliti sendiri dan instrumen pendukung berupa tes pemecahan masalah dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu teknik tes dan teknik non tes. Sedangkan teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu tahap reduksi data, tahap penyajian data dan tahap penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada subjek laki-laki memenuhi lima kriteria berpikir kritis yaitu Focus, Reason, Inference, Situation, Clarity, sementara kriteria overview tidak terpenuhi. Sedangkan pada subjek perempuan memenuhi semua kriteria berpikir kritis yaitu Focus, Reason, Inference, Situation, Clarity dan Overview. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa perempuan lebih baik dari laki-laki dalam hal keterampilan berpikir kritis karena perempuan melakukan pengecekan kembali secara menyeluruh yaitu pada indikator overview dan terdapat perbedaan dalam prosesnya. The main problem in this study is how critical thinking skills in solving mathematical problems in terms of gender differences in students of class VIII.1 SMP Negeri 2 Labakkang. This study aims to analyze students' critical thinking skills in solving mathematical problems in terms of gender differences. Analysis of critical thinking skills in this study uses the criteria of Ennis consisting of Focus, Reason, Inference, Clarity and Overview. This type of research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Labakkang with four students, namely two male students and two female students. The research instrument used in this study is the main instrument that is the researcher himself and the supporting instruments in the form of problem solving tests and interview guidelines. Data collection techniques namely test techniques and non-test techniques. While the data analysis techniques used are the data reduction stage, the data presentation stage and the conclusion drawing stage. The results showed that male subjects met the five criteria of critical thinking, namely Focus, Reason, Inference, Situation, Clarity, while the overview criteria were not met. Whereas the female subject fulfills all the criteria of critical thinking, namely Focus, Reason, Inference, Situation, Clarity and Overview. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that women are better than men in terms of critical thinking skills because women do a thorough re-checking of the indicator overview and there are differences in the process.

Abstract

A direct teaching model is a teaching approach that can help students learn basic skills and acquire information that can be taught step by step. Direct instruction or direct teaching is based on behavioristic learning theory that focuses on the mastery of concepts and changes in behavior as a result of learning that can be observed. The approach used in this model is teacher-centered. The teacher presents material/transfers information directly and structured using a lecture, expository, question, and answer, presentation/demonstration model. This model is the leading choice applied to students due to its advantages, including the relatively large amount of material delivered, easy learning time to manage, and this model will be relatively easy to follow for procedural matters. In addition to some of its advantages, the direct teaching model also has drawbacks that, according to researchers, are vital to the learning process itself; namely, students tend to wait for raw answers from the material presented by the teacher.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa SMP dalam pemecahkan masalah matematika ditinjau dari gaya kognitif visualizer – verbalizer. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. prosedur penelitian ini meliputi persiapan, pelaksanaan dan tahap analisis hasil penelitian. Penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-4 di SMP Negeri 2 Larompong Sebanyak 4 orang siswa yang memeiliki gaya kognitif visualizer dan verbalizer yang masing – masing terdiri dari 2 siswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif visualizer dan 2 siswa yang memiliki gaya kognitif verbalizer. Penelitian ini mengacu pada indikator berpikir tingkat tinggi yang terdiri tiga tahap yaitu: menganalisis, mengevaluasi, dan mencipta. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah angket gaya kognitif visualizer-verbalizer, tes pemecahan masalah matematika, dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan profil berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa dalam pemecahn masalah berdasarkan indikator berpikir tingkat tinggi oleh ke 4 subjek. Jika dilihat dari proses menyelesaikan masalah matematika subjek V1 mampu menyelesaikan soal visualizer dengan tahap menganalisis dan mengevaluasi dibanding dengan soal verbalizer, V1 tidak mampu memenuhi indikator berpikir tingkat tinggi dan V1 tidak mampu memenuhi indikator ketiga yaitu mencipta. Subjek V2 tidak mampu menyelesaikan pemecahan masalah baik soal visualizer maupun soal verbalizer baik tahap menganalisis maupun mengevaluasi. Subjek V3 mampu menyelesaikan pemecahan masalah matematika dengan tahap menganalisis, mengevaluasi, tapi tidak mampu menyelesaikan tahap mencipta. Subjek V4 tidak mampu menyelesaikan pemecahan masalah baik soal visualizermaupun soal verbalizer.

Abstract

The research aims on discovery the description and the influence of Problem Based Learning Model with Problem Posing Approach on mathematics creativity and Student Activity on The Material of Cubes and Beams of Class VIII Student at SMPN 7 Polewali. The research was free experiment research which employed one group pretest-posttest design. The result of research reveal that (1) the student’ Mathematics creativities before applying problem based learning with problem posing approach to class VIII B student at SMPN 7 Polewali show that 23 student are in uncreative category and 1 student is less creativity category, the student’ mathematics creativity after applying problem based learning with problem posing approach to class VIII B student at SMPN 7 Polewali shows that 1 student is in very creativity, 5 student are in creativity category, 17 student are in fairly creative category and 1 student is in less creativity category, (2) the description of the students’ learning activity after applying  problem based learning with problem posing approach to class VIII B student at SMPN 7 Polewali overall is in active category, (3) problem based learning with problem posing approach gives influence to class VIII B student at SMPN 7 Polewali with gain score in medium category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the creative thinking process of students' field-independent cognitive style in solving mathematical problems related to the circumference of a flat shape. The method used was descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were class VIII students who had a field-independent cognitive style based on the Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT). Data were obtained through tests, documentation, observation, and interviews. Data analysis was carried out using four creative thinking processes developed by Graham Walla, namely preparation, incubation, illumination, and verification. The results indicated that students could understand the problem well, tend to be quiet to find solutions, could design solutions that would be done by choosing ideas to be solved by modifying the knowledge they already have and applying designed ideas to solve problems. Therefore, students seemed to understand mathematical operations related to the circumference of plat shapes. Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menyajikan proses berpikir kreatif gaya kognitif field-Independent siswa dalam memecahkan masalah matematika berkaitan dengan keliling bangun datar. Metode yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Subjek penelitian ini merupakan siswa kelas VIII yang memiliki gaya kognitif field-independent berdasarkan hasil tes Group Embedded Figure Test (GEFT). Data diperoleh melalui tes, dokumentasi, observasi, dan wawancara. Analysis data dilakukan menggunakan empat proses berpikir kreatif yang dikembangkan Graham Walla, yaitu persiapan, inkubasi, iluminasi, dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Siswa dapat memahami masalah dengan baik, cenderung pendiam untuk mencari solusi, dapat merancang solusi yang akan dilakukan dengan memilih ide untuk diselesaikan dengan memodifikasi pengetahuan yang telah dimiliki, dan menerapkan ide yang dirancang untuk menyelesaikan masalah. Oleh karena itu, siswa tampak memahami operasi matematika yang berkaitan dengan keliling bangun datar.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menyajikan profil kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika level HOTS ditinjau dari kemampuan awal. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu SMP di Kabupaten Wakatobi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu tes tertulis dan pedoman wawancara. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes kemampuan awal matematika, tes HOTS matematika, dan pedoman wawancara. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 3 orang siswa dengan kategori kemampuan awal tinggi, kemampuan awal sedang, kemampuan awal rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik siswa tinggi tidak memenuhi semua tahapan pemecahan masalah. Siswa sedang memenuhi semua tahapan pemecahan masalah tetapi masih keliru dalam menuliskan jawaban terkait masalah konteks. Siswa rendah tidak memenuhi semua tahapan pemecahan masalah Polya.Kata kunci: HOTS, Kemampuan Awal, Pemecahan Masalah, Matematika.This study is presents to HOTS level problem solving ability profile in terms of initial ability. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa berkemampuan awal matematika tinggi dan kemampuan awal matematika rendah dalam menyelesaikan soal geometri berbasis TIMSS untuk domain kognitif mengaplikasikan (applying) dan penalaran (reasoning). Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek penelitian sebanyak 2 orang dengan 1 orang berkemampuan awal matematika tinggi dan 1 orang berkemampuan awal matematika rendah dari siswa kelas VIII SMP. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan terdiri atas tes matematika berbasis TIMSS yang dikhususkan pada konten geometri domain kognitif aplikasi dan penalaran serta pedoman wawancara. Kesalaan yang dianalisis dikategorikan menggunakan kategori kesalahan Newman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Untuk kategori soal mengaplikasikan (applying), siswa kemmpuan awal matematika tinggi tidak mengalami kesalahan, sedangkan siswa berkemampuan matematika rendah mengalami jenis kesalahan transformation, process skills, dan encoding. (2) Untuk kategori soal penalaran (reasoning), siswa berkemampuan awal tinggi mengalami kesalahan tipe transformation, process skills, dan encoding sedangkan siswa berkemampuan awal rendah mengalami kesalahan tipe comprehension, transformation, process skills, dan encoding. Kata kunci : Kesalahan, Soal Matematika TIMSS, Domain Kognitif applying dan reasoning konten geometri, Kemampuan Awal, Kriteria Newman. This study aims to know the types of errors committed by students with high initial mathematical abilities and low initial mathematical abilities in solving TIMSS-based geometric questions for the cognitive domain of applying and reasoning. The type of this research is qualitative research using a descriptive approach. The research subjects as many as 2 people with of 1 people with early mathematical abilities and 1 people with low initial mathematical abilities from class VIII SMP. The research instrument consists of a TIMSS-based mathematical test devoted to the geometry content of the cognitive domain application and reasoning and interview guidelines. The difficulties analyzed were categorized using the Newman error category. The results of this research showed that: (1) For the category of applying , students with high initial mathematical abilities did not have errors, while students with low mathematical abilities had types of transformation errors, process skills, and encoding. (2) For the category of reasoning, the errors type of the students with high initial mathematical abilities are transformation, process skills, and encoding while students with low mathematical abilities had comprehension, transformation, process skills, and encoding errors. Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran mix models (TGT-AIR) terhadap hasil belajar matematika ditinjau dari motivasi belajar siswa. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII salah satu SMP negeri di Kota Makassar. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas VIII-2 yang sebagai kelas perlakuan yang diajar dengan menggunakan pembelajaran mix models (TGT-AIR) dan kelas VIII-10 sebagai kelas pembanding yang diajar dengan model pembelajaran langsung yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah model pembelajaran, motivasi belajar, dan hasil belajar matematika. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, angket motivasi, dan post test hasil belajar matematika siswa. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif dan inferensial melalui uji t untuk dua sampel independen. Berdasarkan hasil uji t diperoleh bahwa: (a) ada perbedaan pembelajaran mix models (TGT-AIR) dan model pembelajaran langsung terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa; (b) terdapat pengaruh motivasi terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa pada penerapan pembelajaran mix models (TGT-AIR); (c) tidak ada pengaruh motivasi terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa pada penerapan model pembelajaran langsung; (d) ada perbedaan pembelajaran mix models (TGT-AIR) dan model pembelajaran langsung terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa yang bermotivasi belajar tinggi; dan (e) tidak ada perbedaan pembelajaran mix models (TGT-AIR) dan model pembelajaran langsung terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa yang bermotivasi belajar rendah.Kata Kunci: Pembelajaran Mix Models (TGT-AIR), Model Pembelajaran Langsung, Motivasi Belajar, Hasil Belajar Matematika. Abstract. This research was quasi-experimental which aims to know the influence of mix models learning (TGT-AIR) towards mathematics learning outcomes viewed from learning motivation. The population in this research was Eighth-grade students at one of Junior High School in Makassar. The sample consisted of two classes, namely class VIII-2 that gave treatment by using mix models learning (TGT-AIR), and class VIII-10 as a comparison class taught by using direct learning model selected by cluster random sampling technique. The variables in this research were learning models, learning motivation, and mathematics learning outcomes. The research instruments used were observation sheets, questionnaires about leaning motivation in mathematics, and mathematics learning outcomes tests. The data obtained were analyzed in descriptive and inferential through t-test for two independent samples. Based on the results of the t-test, it was found that: (a) there was a difference of mix models learning (TGT-AIR) and direct learning model on mathematics learning outcomes; (b) there was an effect of motivation on students' mathematics learning outcomes in the implementation of mix models learning (TGT-AIR); (c) there was no effect of motivation on students' mathematics learning outcomes in the implementation of direct learning model, (d) there was a difference of mix models learning (TGT-AIR) and direct learning model on mathematics learning outcomes for students who are highly motivated in learning; and (e) there was no difference of mix models learning (TGT-AIR) and direct learning model on mathematics learning outcomes for students who are low motivated in learning.Keywords: Mix Models Learning (TGT-AIR), Direct Learning Model, Learning Motivation, and Mathematics Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui perbandingan hasil belajar siswa melalui penerapan model kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Divitions berbantuan media mistar geser dan video mistar geser dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen yang melibatkan dua kelompok yang diberi perlakuan dengan sampel penelitian sebanyak 73 siswa dari kelas VII SMP di Makassar yang dipilih dengan menggunakan teknik double cluster double random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen: (1) lembar observasi keterlaksanaan model pembelajaran dan (2) tes hasil belajar matematika. Data dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial dengan analisis uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) Skor rara-rata hasil belajar matematika dari 37 siswa setelah pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Divitions berbantuan media mistar geser yaitu 22,22% berada pada kategori sangat rendah, 22,22% pada kategori sedang, 13,90% pada kategori tinggi dan 19,44% pada kategori sangat tinggi. (2) Skor rara-rata hasil belajar matematika dari 36 siswa setelah pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Divitions berbantuan media video mistar geser yaitu 18,92% berada pada kategori sangat rendah, 24,32% pada kategori rendah, 40,54% pada kategori sedang serta 13,52 % pada kategori tinggi dan 2,70 pada kategori sangat tinggi. (3) Tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar siswa setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Divitions berbantuan media mistar geser dan video mistar geser di Kelas VII SMP dengan materi Penjumlahan dan Pengurangan Bilangan Bulat.Kata Kunci: Hasil belajar, pembelajaran matematika, model pembelajaran kooperatif, Student Teams Achievement Divitions Abstract.This research was conducted to determine the comparison of student learning outcomes through the application of the cooperative model type Student Teams Achievement Divitions assisted by slide rule media and Student Teams Achievement Divitions assisted by slide bar video media. This research was an experimental research involving two groups treated with research sample of 73 students from class VII SMP Sinjaiselected by using the double cluster random sampling technique. Techniques of collecting data  using instruments: (1) observation sheet of  learning model implementation and (2) tests of mathematics learning result.Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics and inferential statistics with t-test analysis. The results showed that : (1) Average score of mathematics learning outcomes of 37 students after learning using the Student Teams Achievement Divitions assisted by slide rule media model which is 22,22% in the very low category, 22,22% in the medium category, 13,90% in the high category and 19,44% in the very high category. (2) The average score of mathematics learning outcomes from 36 students after learning using the Teams Achievement Divitions assisted by slide bar video media is 18,92% in the very low category, 24,32% in the low category, 40,54% in the medium category 13,52 % in the high and 2,70 % very high categories. (3) There is no significant difference between student learning outcomes after applying the Student Teams Achievement Divitions assisted by slide rule media and Student Teams Achievement Divitions assisted by slide bar video media. in Class VII Junior High School with the material of Addition and Subtraction Round Numbers.Keywords:Learning outcomes, mathematics learning, cooperative learning model, student teams achievement divitions

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan pendekatan SAVI setting cooperative script dalam pembelajaran matematika siswa kelas IX SMP Negeri 33 Makassar dengan mengacu pada kriteria efektivitas pembelajaran, yaitu hasil belajar siswa, aktivitas siswa, dan respons siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis statistika deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil analisis menunjukkan: (1) nilai rata-rata siswa yang diajar dengan pendekatan SAVI setting cooperative script lebih besar dari 73 (KKM), (2) nilai rata-rata gain ternormalisasi siswa sebesar 0,79 (kategori tinggi), (3) ) rata-rata persentase aktivitas siswa sebesar 92%, (4) rata-rata persentase siswa yang memberi respon positif terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran sebesar 94%, (5) terdapat perbedaan secara signifikan hasil belajar matematika sebelum dan setelah penggunaan pendekatan SAVI setting cooperative script. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan pendekatan SAVI setting cooperative script efektif digunakan pada siswa Kelas IX SMP Negeri 33 Makassar.Kata kunci: Efektivitas, Hasil Belajar Matematika, Pendekatan SAVI Setting Cooperative ScriptAbstract. This research aimed to determine the effectiveness of implementing SAVI approach with cooperative script setting in students’ mathematics learning of Grade IX SMP Negeri 33 Makassar by clicking refer to the three criteria of effectiveness of learning, i.e students’ learning achievement, students’ activities and responses. The data analysis technique that used was the technique of descriptive and inferential statistical analysis. The results analysis of this research are: 1) the average percentage of students who was taught by SAVI approach with cooperative script setting is greater than 73 (KKM), (2) the average value of normalized gain is 0,79 (high category), (3) the average percentage of students’ activities is 92%, (4) the average percentage of students who gave positive responses to the implementation of learning is 94%, (5) there is a significant difference in mathematics learning achievement before and after the use of the SAVI approach with cooperative script setting. From these results it can be concluded that learning with SAVI approach with cooperative script setting is effective to be used in students’ mathematics learning of Grade IX of SMP Negeri 33 Makassar.Keyword: Effectiveness, SAVI Approach with Cooperative Script Setting, Students’ Mathematics Learning Achievement.
