Abstract

The purpose of this study was to know the learning difficulties experienced by third grade students of Mathematics Education Study Program during Project Based Learning (PjBL) implementation on Evaluation of Mathematics’ Learning Process and Result. This research used descriptive method with qualitative approach because it is relevant from the initial process to the final product, and research instrument used is in the form of interview sheet. The sample of this research is 68 third grade students of Mathematics Education Study Program of Faculty of Teaching and Educational Sciences, University of Swadaya Gunung Jati Cirebon. The study was conducted in the period of March - July 2016. Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that students' learning difficulties during the implementation of Project Based Learning caused by internal factors, that is lack of motivation, which can be seen from the lack of students in reading and looking for various references related to the material, they rely on one reference book only that used during lectures. This resulted to the lack of understanding in learning the Evaluation Instruments’ Quality which can be seen from the difficulty in classifying evaluation test questions based on Bloom's Taxonomy and arranging scoring guidelines, using validity formula, reliability, item discrimination, and index of difficulty to determine instrument quality, and difficulty in accomplishing the final product.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' rigorous mathematical thinking from three levels of cognitive function structures associated with their contribution to self-assessment metacognitive knowledge in Real Number System lectures. This research is qualitative research with a type of case study. The research subjects were three students of the Mathematics Education Study Program who contracted the Real Number. System course selecting research subjects based on test results identifies students into three rigorous mathematical thinking cognitive function structure levels. This study's results indicate that rigorous mathematical thinking contributes to students' self-assessment metacognitive knowledge. The quality of review of students who have a rigorous mathematical thinking level can lead to thoroughness, intellectual perseverance, critical investigation, and truth-seeking in solving problems appropriately, structurally, and systematically into a direct experience in the learning process is described as metacognitive. Students at the level of abstract relational thinking can assess their own abilities very well, learn independently, and choose with certainty how to solve problems by placing the right method. Qualitative thinking level students focus more on symbols or symbols and represent their knowledge through visualization. He prefers that the type of evaluation problem solving is not in the form of long, detailed sentences but instead immediately transforms the sentences into clear mathematical symbols

Abstract

This study analyzes some hard skills (problem-solving abilities, level of logical thinking, and geometric thinking) and soft skills (students' self-concept and mathematical habits of mind) mathematics education students explicitly in the first year. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. From the population of all mathematics education students in the first year, one group of students was selected as a random sample using analysis techniques, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Based on the research results, mathematics education students' overall ability in the first year is already good. Students were mastering five reasoning on the test of logical thinking (TOLT). It means they have solved problems with reasoning associated with proportional or ratio, control variables, probability,  correlation and combinatorics.  Most students have reached the level of thinking geometry at the analysis stage; that is, students have already understood the properties of concepts or geometry based on informal analysis of parts and component attributes. However, students do not have good soft skills. Even though they have a strong habit of mind, students' self-concept is quite sufficient

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kontribusi aspek-aspek matematika pada sumur purbakala, sejarahnya, proses berpikir matematis dalam pembuatan sumur, dan proses pembelajaran matematika di sekolah. Hasil penelitian ini disajikan dalam bentuk kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan tentang sejarah sumur purbakala. Bentuk bangunan sumur menggambarkan sebuah bangun datar seperti segitiga, segilima, persegi panjang, jajar genjang, trapesium, lingkaran, dan bangun ruang seperti balok dan tabung, yang merupakan aspek-aspek matematika pada materi geometri. Proses pembuatan sumur yang berbentuk lingkaran dapat dilakukan dengan segi-n yang didekati oleh limit n menuju tak hingga yang dilihat dari banyaknya batu bata pada susunan pertama dan banyaknya susunan pada pembuatan sumur. Hasil penelitian ini juga berkaitan dengan proses pembelajaran matematika di sekolah, seperti materi segitiga dan segiempat di SMP serta aturan sinus dan cosinus di SMA. Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan bahan ajar pada jenjang sekolah menengah ataupun referensi untuk penelitian lain di bidang budaya dan matematika. Ethnomathematics at the sumur purbakala Kaliwadas Village of Cirebon and relationship with mathematics learning in school AbstractThe purpose of this research is to know the mathematical aspects of sumur purbakala, its history, the process of mathematical thinking in the making of well, and the process of learning mathematics in school. The results of this research are presented in qualitative form to describe the history of the sumur purbakala. The shape of the building is constructed like a triangle, a pentagon, a rectangle, a parallelogram, a trapezoid, a circle, and a space-building like beams and tubes, which are the mathematical aspects of the material geometry. The process of making a well in the form of a circle can be done with the n-segments approximated by the boundary n to the not until seen from the number of bricks in the first order and the number of arrangements on the well-making. The results of this study are also related to the process of learning mathematics in schools, such as triangle and quadrilateral materials in junior high and the rules of sinus and cosine in high school. It is expected that the results of this study can be used as teaching materials at the level of the school and references to other research in the field of culture and mathematics.

Abstract

Pengarsipan dilakukan bukan hanya untuk menyimpan berkas agar terlihat rapih, tetapi bermanfaat jika suatu saat berkas tersebut dibutuhkan, maka akan dengan mudah ditemukan. Pemanfaatan Google Drive sebagai sarana pengarsipan bertujuan agar file tidak akan hilang, pencarian berkas yang tidak memerlukan waktu lama, serta dapat diakses dimanapun dan kapanpun dibutuhkan. Sebelum pelatihan ini dilakukan, peserta pelatihan yang merupakan guru-guru di SMP Negeri di Kabupaten Cirebon mengaku bahwa mereka pernah mendengar bahwa berkas dapat disimpan pada Google Drive. Namun, para peserta belum mengetahui cara menggunakannya, bahkan belum mengetahui bahwa berkas-berkas tersebut dapat diakses menggunakan handphone masing-masing. Pelatihan ini dilakukan dengan tiga metode, yaitu ceramah, tanya-jawab dan simulasi. Kegiatan pertama dilakukan dengan metode ceramah dan simulasi, narasumber memberikan informasi mengenai pemanfaatan google drive, dari mulai membuat akun google mail, membuka aplikasi hingga melakukan pengoragnisiran dokumen pada google drive masing-masing. Selanjutnya, narasumber mempersilahkan peserta untuk bertanya mengenai hambatan yang dilakukan dalam menggunakan google drive. Setelah diberikan pelatihan, seluruh peserta sepakat bahwa pelatihan yang dilakukan menarik dan memotivasi untuk menggunakan google drive dalam pengarsipan guna meningkatkan profesionalisme guru khususnya dalam memanfaatkan teknologi Keywords: Pengarsipan, Google Drive, Profesionalisme Guru

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian ini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan para perangkat desa dalam membuat surat dengan menerapkan teknologi komputer. Surat merupakan salah bentuk komunikasi tulis. Surat ditulis bertujuan untuk menyampaikan sesuatu kabar/berita/informasi secara tertulis. Penulisan dan pengorganisasian surat perlu mendapatkan perlakukan yang khusus agar maksud dan tujuan dapat disampaikan dengan baik Penulisan surat membutuhkan sebuah pemahaman tentang konsep bahasa dan format bentuk surat. Hal ini bertujuan agar maksud dan tujuan surat dapat diterima dengan baik oleh penerima surat. Penggunaan teknologi dalam penulisan surat akan berpengaruh pada kecepatan dalam penyampian informasi. Salah satu usaha yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk memaksimalkan kegiatan pengelolaan surat-menyurat dengan memanfaatkan teknologi komputer. Teknologi komputer khususnya pemanfaatan perangkat lunak yang digunakan adalah metode langsung dengan menggunakan suatu pendekatan teknik pendampingan. Mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah pemerintahan Desa Mandala Kecamatan Dukupuntang Kabupaten Cirebon. Hasil kegiatan ini berupa peningkatan kapasitas kemampuan para perangkat desa dalam proses penulisan surat dari segi penggunaan bahasa surat dinas yang baku sesuai  dengan ejaan bahasa Indonesia serta bentuk surat dinas yang akan digunakan. Selanjutnya, pengguaan teknologi komputer bagi para perangkat Desa akan mempermudah dalam proses pembuatan surat masal secara singkat dan efisien dengan memaksimalkan fitur Mail Merge pada program Microsoft Word.

Abstract

TEACHERS IN THE DIGITAL ERA: TRAINING ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SCHOOLOGY AS A LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR TEACHERS OF SMP VETERAN CIREBON CITY. Distance education is a natural learning system that involves two-way communication through the media between educators and students when there is a distance that separates them. To integrate the two-way communication process requires a learning management system (Learning Management System). One of the LMS platforms is Schoology. Schoology allows users to create, manage, and interact with each other and share academic content. Schoology provides solutions for teachers to improve their professionalism in the digital age, especially in the use of technology for learning. The resource person trains participants with the lecture method, which explains how to use the menus and tools contained in LMS Schoology, as well as simulations of how to implement them in learning. The training stage consists of the preparation phase and the implementation phase of the training. The target of the training is the teachers of all subjects in Cirebon Veterans Junior High School. Indicators of training implementation with evaluation during the training process and post-training evaluation. From the results of the community service activities, during the face-to-face events, the teachers looked enthusiastic, only when the exercises were online (non-face-to-face), only one teacher actively participated out of a total of 9 teachers who became training participants. Based on observations, few teachers took part in online activities because of their busy operations in classroom teaching, which had to pursue productive weeks of learning.

Abstract

Writing scientific papers is an important activity to improve teachers' quality, competence, and professionalism. Its implementation is marked by, among others, self-improvement through scientific research in the form of Classroom Action Research. During teaching and learning activities, teachers can research by developing various instruments and learning strategies. However, teachers rarely put their research results in writing in research reports and scientific articles. This community service activity aims to assist teachers in compiling Classroom Action Research reports and articles and explaining tricks to publish Classroom Action Research articles in reputable national journals. The implementation of the activities uses the methods of training, discussion, and direct mentoring so that the teacher can feel the process. This service activity received a good response, with the teacher's enthusiasm during the exercise, active discussions, and scientific reports and articles compilation. In the final discussion of this community service activity, teachers are very interested in publishing the results of their research, and it's just that teachers lack information about reputable journals. Through this activity, the ability of teachers to research and publish their research results can become practical innovations in the world of education, especially classroom learning.

Abstract

Story questions have level of abstraction characteristics. In the story question, it can be seen that the students’ abstract extended level by changing the pattern questions according to the indicators of high –level mathematical thinking. This study aims to determine the ability of students to understand mathematical concepts in the SPLDV material using SOLO Taxonomy-based questions and student responses in working on these questions. When researchers did a teaching practice at a vocational high school in Cirebon district, they found that the students' ability to understand concepts was still low, this was confirmed by interviews with students that they did not understand SPLDV questions, especially in making mathematical models of a story problem. This research is located in one of the Vocational High Schools in Cirebon Regency. The subjects of this study were 21 class X students. The researcher used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach because the researcher wanted to find out more about how students understood mathematical concepts in the SPLDV material using SOLO Taxonomy-based questions. The results of this study were the students' ability to understand mathematical concepts in the SPLDV Material Using SOLO Taxonomy-based questions was still very low, namely 37.10% and the responses given by students were positive for the use of questions based on the use of SOLO Taxonomy-based questions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the mathematical difficulties that occur in children with dyscalculia cases in the concept of multiplication which focused on the application of word problems. We used qualitative methods by selecting the type of case study research and selecting research instruments in the form of test instruments and interview sheets according to the research flow. The subject of the study was one child in the fourth grade of elementary school who had a case of dyscalculia based on the analysis of doctors and exceptional therapists. The use of random sampling technique to select research subjects in two child development clinics is under the research objectives. The results of the study concluded that subject has difficulty understanding the concept of multiplication, not just a routine procedure, but focus on representing multiplication functionally. In addition, there are other findings that there are difficulties in student recognizing number symbols and connecting numbers with real situations. Therefore, we need special therapy to minimize learning disorders that occur in this student.
