Abstract

The process of disseminating innovation so that it can be quickly responded by the user community needs to be designed in such a way that it can produce relatively permanent changes in behavior. This study aims to analyze how the strategy of increasing the capacity of sheep farmers through the thematic village campus program in Neglasari Village, Bogor. The research was designed as action research at the study site, accompanied by the use of survey methods with a quantitative approach and supported by qualitative data. The selection of study sites was carried out purposively. The process of collecting data was carried out on sheep breeders, members of women's farmer groups, informants and related stakeholders. The Village Campus Program has accelerated the technology education process produced by the campus to the community, becoming a vehicle for lecturer service, linkage with faculty programs or study programs. In order for this program to be sustainable, it is necessary to involve various parties such as alumni, local leadership, based on user needs, as well as conducting regular meetings on a programmed basis.

Abstract

Api-Api Village has potential fishery resources, especially milkfish cultivation, but milkfish cultivation has obstacles and challenges due to sea tidal disasters and other things. Farmers continue to exploit the existing potential by cultivating the stepped net cage system. The objectives of this research were (1) to determine the general condition of brackish water ponds in Api-Api village and (2) to analyze the financial feasibility of cultivating milkfish using the stepped net cage system. The data collection method used was direct interviews with 30 farmers. The analytical tool used is financial feasibility analysis (NPV, Net B/C, IRR, PP). The results of the financial feasibility analysis show an NPV value of Rp. 71,838,127, Net B/C of 1.64, IRR of 15.33% and Payback Period of 2 years seven months 17 days. Therefore, cultivating milkfish using the KJT system in Api-Api Village is feasible.

Abstract

To control supply and demand rice and increase income to farmer, Government assigned a rice purchasing policy. This study apply 2SLS model with time series data 1971-2009 to simulate and forecast the impact of rice purchasing policy on farmer welfare. The responses of rice real price at farmers' level towards the changes of real price of government purchases and rice production is elastic in the long term. Demand of rice is significantly influenced by the price of rice, population, and demand for rice at t - 1. The increasing of rice purchasing price (HPP) on grain at 9.54% and 15% lead to an increasing of farmer's surplus IDR163,512,308,700 and IDR257,292,128,790.
