Abstract

Perbedaan yang terdapat dalam dua bahasa yang berbeda, dalam hal ini pengucapan, dapat menjadi kendala dalam komunikasi. Seorang penutur bisa menyebabkan kesalahpaham ketika salah menuturkan sebuah kata dalam bahasa asing. Bahasa Inggris memiliki jumlah dan jenis bunyi yang sangat berbeda dengan jumlah bunyi pada bahasa Indonesia. Selain itu, satu huruf pada kata yang berbeda bisa mewakili bunyi yang berbeda. Pelatihan ini bertujuan memberikan pengetahuan kepada siswa tentang English vowels agar dapat memperbaiki pengucapan kata bahasa Inggris agar bisa bisa lebih baik dan benar. Pelatihan ini dilakukan secara daring melalui media Zoom karena sedang dalam masa pandemi dengan menggunakan dua metode pendekatan, yaitu pengajaran dan pemberian latihan. Walau tidak 100% mitra berhasil menghasilkan pengucapan yang tepat, tapi peningkatan bisa terlihat pada pengucapan mitra. Mitra memiliki sikap positif selama kegiatan dengan ikut aktif berpartisipasi dalam latihan yang diberikan, dan juga kepuasan mitra selama kegiatan diperoleh dari data hasil survey yang diberikan oleh tim pengabdi. Adapun kendala yang ditemui selama kegiatan adalah karena kurangnya kepercayaan diri mitra, serta adanya pengaruh dari bahasa ibu mitra.

Abstract

Latar belakang: ANEKA merupakan singkatan dari akuntabilitas, nasionalisme, etika publik, komitmen mutu, dan anti korupsi. Kelima nilai tersebut adalah nilai dasar Aparatur Sipil Negara yang wajib diimplementasikan dalam program aktualisasi pada pelatihan dasar (latsar) Calon Pegawai Negeri Sipil Kemenristek Dikti. Tujuan :Tujuan penelitian adalah implementasi nilai-nilai ANEKA melalui Workshop Implementasi Nilai-Nilai ANEKA bagi dosen Fakultas Bahasa dan Sastra Universitas Negeri Makassar sebagai Aparatur Sipil Negara.Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah pre eksprimen dengan subjek dosen jurusan Bahasa Inggris, Fakultas Bahasa dan Sastra, Universitas Negeri Makassar. Aktualisasi dilakukan dari tanggal 09 September sampai dengan 21 November 2019 di UNM Makassar. Rincian kegiatan aktualisasi adalah: konsultasi rancangan aktualisasi; survey pengetahuan nilai ANEKA pra workshop; workshop implementasi nilai ANEKA pada dosen ASN; evaluasi pasca workshop implimentasi nilai ANEKA dan evaluasi implementasi nilai ANEKA. Instrumen peneltian ini adalah pretest, postest, dan self evaluation. Data pretest dan posttest diambil gainscore dan dianalisis menggunakan statistik inferensial parametrik dengan uji one-sample t-test dilengkapi uji normalitas dengan bantuan SPSS 16.0 for Windows. Data self evaluation dianalisis dengan deskriptif. Hasil: Dari analisis data didapatkan gainscore terdistribusi normal dengan nilai signifikansi one sample Kolmogorov Smirnov sebesar 0.015. Hasil uji hipotesis disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh workshop ANEKA terhadap implementasi nilai-nilai ANEKA dengan nilai signifikansi one sample t test sebesar 0.000. Seluruh kegiatan aktualisasi bernuansa ANEKA. Penemuan Penting: Seluruh kegiatan riset dilaksanakan dengan bernuansa ANEKA. Rekomendasi: Pertama, Kegiatan Workshop perlu diberikan tidak hanya kepada dosen melainkan juga pegawai dan staf Jurusan Bahasa Inggris, FBS, UNM. Kedua, Kegiatan Worshop lanjutan perlu dilakukan agar ASN semakin paham akan nilai-nilai ANEKA dan pentingnya internalisasi dan implementas dalam kehidupan sehari-hari untuk membentuk ASN yang berkualitas.

Abstract

This quantitative and qualitative study focuses on university students’ perceptions on the use of learning community through cooperative learning approach in EFL classroom. The purpose of the study is to explore the student teachers’ opinion about the use of learning community in the EFL Micro Teaching classroom. The participants of this study were the seventh semester students of the Special English Education Program taking Micro Teaching course. The number of participants was 28 students. The data were collected using questionnaire and interview. The result of this research showed that the seventh semester students of the Special English Education program of Universitas Negeri Makassar had positive responses toward the implementation of learning community through Cooperative Learning. Besides that, it was found that students were happy to attend Micro Teaching classroom which mainly consisted of group activities in learning community. Likewise, learning community helps facilitate student learning and improve their vocabulary.

Abstract

Abstrak.Health and beauty ads are one of the most ads of interest in Indonesia. Beauty is every woman's desire, and the concept of beauty in Indonesia has been changed from time to time. YOU C 1000 is a healthy drink contains 1000 mg of vitamin C that offers a different concept of beauty to the public, especially to Indonesian women. This study aims to analyze the way of YOU C 1000 audiovisual ads in shaping the Indonesian women beauty concept by using the Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analyses (CDA) method. The findings of this study are divided into three dimensions of analysis, those are the microstructural (text), mesostructural (discourse), and macrostructural (sociocultural practices). It can be indicated from the ads that YOU C 1000 has been advertised by usingeasy-to-remember and catchy slogan, using Miss Universe as the powerful icon of women beauty, conveniently choosing the form of product to consume with a refreshing taste and packed in suitable packaging, using Indonesian images (its nature, culture, and people) and some of the Indonesian typical music in most of the ads, constantly articulating the product benefit and comparing it to other similar product, and also it is using some linguistic features that give strong opinion supported by general facts, and all of that ways is to deliver the ideology that beauty is start by being healthy inside and by that it will automatically radiate the true beauty outside and that one of the ways of being healthy is by consuming YOU C 1000 once a day regularly.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether or not the use of social media by youth reduces their interaction with family. For the sample in this study, a simple random sampling method was used as part of a quantitative method. Students from the Business English Communication classes in the 2019–2020 and 2021 batches served as the study's subjects. In this study, there are two variables: social media (X) and interaction with family (Y). Two different types of questionnaires, open-ended and closed-ended, were used as the instruments and data collection techniques. The normality test, linearity test, and t-test for hypothesis testing were used in this study for data analysis. Data analysis was done based on the questionnaire results, and the outcomes for the two variables fell into the high category. The results of the study show that social media reduces adolescents' social interaction with family. The t-test results demonstrated that H0 is rejected when the value of t-count exceeds t-table (11.385> 2.002). Therefore, it can be concluded that the results support the Alternative hypothesis, which states that youth use of social media reduces the social interaction with family.

Abstract

Abstract. This study focuses on the lecturers’ readiness in the English departments to apply online learning. The research objectives are to explore (1) the level of lecturers’ readiness of in the English departments to apply online learning based on their knowledge and skills; and (2) the lecturers’ needs in relation to their readiness in implementing online learning. This research uses descriptive quantitative method. The number of respondents who filled out the questionnaire was 121 consisting of 58 lecturers from state universities and 63 from private universities. They are spread over 48 public and private universities in Indonesia. The instrument used is a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The data collected through questionnaires were analyzed using descriptive analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that (1) the level of lecturers’ readiness is in the high category based on their level of knowledge and ICT skills; and (2) there are 3 main aspects needed, namely the need for ICT facilities, institutional support, and ICT training in learning.Keywords: readiness, online learning, ICT skills

Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan model podcast dalam melatih keterampilan interpersonal mahasiswa. Dalam metode penelitian ini, peneliti menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif dan metode penelitian kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan cara menyebar kuesioner melalui miscrosoft form pada sejumlah mahasiswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mengelompokkan rata-rata skor jawaban pada angket, mencari persentasi hasil tanggapan responden, dan menginterpretasi hasil tanggapan responden berdasarkan persentase. Hasil penelitian berupa penggunaan podcast sebagai media pembelajaran digital masih sangat jarang, hal tersebut karena kurangnya jumlah pembelajaran melalui podcast. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model podcast dalam melatih keterampilan interpersonal mahasiswa dengan perolehan nilai 43,6% sangat setuju, 50,7% setuju, dan 3% tidak setuju; point selanjutnya ialah podcast meningkatkan Keterampilan Interpersonal mahasiwa dengan perolehan nilai 40,3% sangat setuju, 56,7% setuju, sisanya 3% tidak setuju. Secara keseluruhan mahasiswa memiliki kemampuan dalam melatih keterampilan interpersonal jika dirangsang menggunakan model podcast. Podcast dianggap cukup inovatif, tetapi banyak yang lebih memilih media digital lain karena sudah lebih mengerti dan paham serta cukup familiar untuk digunakan. Penggunaan podcast sebagai media pembelajaran dianggap efektif pada pembelajaran-pembelajaran yang tidak menggunakan rumus dan berhitung pada materi pembelajarannya.  Kata Kunci: Podcast, Interpersonal Skills Mahasiswa, Model Pembelajaran.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influenced of the Working Environment on employee performance at the General Election Commission in South Sulawesi Province. The population in this Research is all employees consist of 37 people. The number of samples used were 37 people using total sampling theory. The data were collected by using the description method and questionnaires distribution. The data analysis technique used is simple linear regression analysis using Statistic application. The result of this study indicate that the Working Environment variable has a positive and significant influenced on Employee Performance variables, with a significant value about 0.001, and coefficient value about 0.405. Testing results of t value is 5.461 bigger than the t table > 2.030. It can be concluded that there is a positive and significant connection between the working environment and employee performance at the General Election Commission in South Sulawesi Province. The influence of the work environment on employee performance is 46%, while 54% is influenced by an unknown variable or variables not examined in this research.

Abstract

Interpersonal communication is the process of sharing information, ideas, feelings, and opinions from two or more people, verbally and non-verbally. This study aimed to determine the effect of interpersonal communication on employee performance during work from home. This data analysis uses descriptive qualitative. The subjects in this study were PDAM Makassar employees, with six people selected using purposive sampling. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence of interpersonal communication on employee performance during work from home. This is because their communication is effective, so their performance is also good. The better the interpersonal the interpersonal communication among employees, the better the performance result.
