Abstract

Counselors become adaptive individuals to changes that exist, even though they occur so quickly. One of them is that the COVID-19 pandemic has had an impact on the implementation of the counseling program in schools. The implementation of the counseling program in schools is expected to be able to accommodate the needs of students to be able to solve complex problems due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is evaluation research with a discrepancy evaluation model approach. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of the counseling program in schools based on predetermined standards. The implementation of this research is an evaluation with the research population being teacher guidance and counseling at the junior high school level in Malang Regency with a focus on implementing counseling programs during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research instrument is based on performance-based professional teacher evaluation guidelines on the third aspect of the fifth criterion. The data obtained were then analyzed descriptively and percentages to determine the implementation of the counseling program during the pandemic. The results show that counselors can adapt well to changes due to the covid-19 pandemic. This condition is indicated by the counselor starting to use technology in counseling (cybercounseling) to overcome the problems that occur so that they can carry out the program on a scheduled and limited basis in accordance with the health protocol rules. The follow-up results are recommendations to counselors for the implementation of future counseling programs.

Abstract

Metaverse—an incredible medium that combines features of virtual reality platforms such as online games, social media, and the Internet—is predicted to bring significant changes to human behavior. It is believed that social interaction and the quality of mental health can be at risk once Metaverse becomes more prevalent with adolescents predicted to be the most vulnerable group. This study intends to prove this prediction by examining the effect of online game addiction and social media addiction on the mental health quality of adolescents as the majority group with Metaverse access. This correlational study involved 700 students from 14 schools in the greater Malang area. Data were collected through the Metaverse Impact Instrument (MII) and analyzed partially using the T-test and simultaneously using the F-test to know the contribution of gender using an independent sample T-test. Previously, the assumptions of multicollinearity and heteroscedasticity assumption were also tested. The results indicate that online games and social media negatively affect mental health at a rate of 31.5%. These results provide empirical evidence for theoretical predictions regarding the impact of Metaverse on mental health quality in adolescents. As a follow-up, research is needed to develop educational intervention strategies, appropriate guidance, and counseling services that purpose is to: 1) integrate cultural and religious values into character education; 2) anticipate the potential risks of metaverse among adolescents.

Abstract

Abstract: Metaverse, a combination of social media, gaming, and virtual reality technology innovation, is a new concept that has attracted the attention of various groups. This concept has also aided numerous groups of people, including the academician. As Metaverse offers various means to innovate, it is projected to change human lives and patterns of interaction. However, Metaverse also presents a number of negative impacts on mental health, even greater than the impacts of online games. This literature review aims to examine the impacts of the Metaverse on adolescents. Then, it develops the relevant preventive strategy through school guidance and counseling programs. This study is motivated by the lack of research related to the impact of Metaverse on adolescents’ mental health and intervention strategies. By applying the PRISMA steps, the study was conducted on scientific articles published from 2017 to 2022 extracted using Publish or Perish software. From the data collection process, we garnered and analyzed 25 relevant articles from ScienceDirect, SpringerLink, Sage Journals, Google Scholar, WoS, ProQuest, Taylor & Francis Group, Emerald Insight, DOAJ, and Garuda. Our analysis results showed that Metaverse potentially has negative impacts on adolescents, especially on non-cognitive aspects, such as social skills, empathy, self-esteem, self-control, and self-regulated learning. In addition, a basic guidance and counseling strategy using various approaches and techniques is required, particularly group guidance using information technology and social media to develop youth literacy about mental health in this metaverse era. Abstrak: Metaverse yang merupakan perpaduan inovasi teknologi media sosial, game, dan virtual reality, adalah konsep baru yang menarik perhatian berbagai kalangan. Konsep ini juga telah membantu banyak kalangan, termasuk akademisi. Metaverse yang menawarkan berbagai cara untuk berinovasi, juga diproyeksikan akan mengubah kehidupan manusia dan pola interaksi. Namun, Metaverse juga menghadirkan sejumlah dampak negatif terhadap kesehatan mental, bahkan lebih besar dari dampak game online. Tinjauan literatur ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dampak Metaverse pada remaja kemudian mengembangkan strategi pencegahan yang relevan melalui program bimbingan dan konseling sekolah. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh minimnya penelitian terkait dampak Metaverse terhadap kesehatan mental remaja dan strategi intervensi. Dengan menerapkan langkah-langkah PRISMA, penelitian dilakukan terhadap artikel ilmiah terbitan tahun 2017 hingga 2022 yang diekstrak menggunakan aplikasi Publish or Perish. Abstract

Santri merupakan seseorang yang menuntut ilmu dilembaga pendidikan berbasis Pondok Pesantren. Selama ini, santri dianggap seseorang yang hanya paham terkait agama dan tidak mampu bersaing dengan siswa di sekolah umum. Pengembangan keterampilan yang dimiliki oleh santri dibutuhkan agar santri mampu memiliki daya saing dalam menghadapi perkembangan zaman pada abad 21. Salah satu keterampilan yang dibutuhkan pada saat ini adalah keterampilan penulisan karya tulis ilmiah. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut diadakan pelatihan penulisan karya tulis ilmiah untuk meningkatkan daya saing santri. Pada pelaksanaan pelatihan karya tulis ilmiah ini dibagi menjadi dua fokus pelatihan yaitu (1) pelatihan penulisan naskah karya tulis ilmiah dan (2) pelatihan presentasi karya tulis ilmiah. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan keterampilan karya tulis ilmiah dengan model project based learning yang dilaksanakan secara hybrid. Hasil dari pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan penulisan karya tulis ilmiah dengan dibuktikan hasil skor peningkatan keterampilan karya tulis ilmiah dan keikutsertaan santri dalam ajang kompetisi karya tulis ilmiah.

Abstract

The problems faced by students are currently increasingly complex with the uncontrollable developments of the times and the impact caused by the co-19 pandemic. One solution that can be applied is the use of self-help online reality counseling to help overcome student problems, however, counselors have low competence in the development and application of self-help online reality counseling. Low competence both in terms of understanding and application is shown by service partners who have never implemented self-help-based counseling services for students. Therefore, the implementation of this service provides training in the application of self-help online-based reality counseling to counselors in Malang Raya. The training activity took place in the D3 FIP UM hall with the Malang Raya High School MGBK partner. The results of training on the application of self-help online reality counseling show that in terms of understanding, counselors experience a change from low to moderate to high. Counselors have the ability of counselors to design and use online reality counseling self-help applications.

Abstract

The conditions of problems experienced by students in social media activities after the Covid-19 pandemic are increasingly disappointing. Student problems increase as time goes by and the use of the internet becomes more widespread. The use of the internet in social media has a significant impact on people's social lives. Communication is becoming easier and cheaper so that individuals can obtain information quickly. The dissemination of information and the communication process is one of the important points in the formation of a new phenomenon using social media. One topic of concern is attitudes or behavior of intolerance, hatred, or even racism on social media carried out by teenagers. Based on these conditions, guidance and counseling (BK) teachers in Malang Raya have difficulty choosing an intervention model that suits the characteristics and needs related to the problems they face. So far they have only used counseling or cybercounselling models that were developed based on Western theories, even though there is an obligation for guidance and counseling teachers to help high school students internalize moral values that are in accordance with Indonesian society. Therefore, implementing this training is important to improve the competency of Malang Raya BK teachers in implementing solution-focused online counseling services that include Pancasila values. The training implementation uses a structured learning approach (structured learning approach) combined with a project-based learning approach which is carried out in a combination of offline and online (blended learning) so that the training implementation is more effective with a continuous mentoring system. The implementation of community service in the form of training aims to increase the competency of Malang Raya High School guidance and counseling teachers in implementing cybercounseling or online counseling services focused on solutions to create Pancasila values.

Abstract

The low group counseling skills at the Guidance and Counseling Teacher Consultation (MGBK) in Batu City is indicated by the intensity of conducting group counseling services. In fact, the more complex the problems faced by students require steps and innovations for counselors in the implementation of services. The purpose of the training is to develop the competence of counselors in understanding and applying the skills of solution-focused guided imagery group counseling. The training implementation method uses structured learning with stages of preparation, assessment, implementation, and evaluation (3PE). The results of the training showed that the trainees were enthusiastic about the implementation of the training and the evaluation of the results showed an increase in the application of solution-focused guided imagery group counseling.
