Abstract This research aimed at describing the improvement of students learning outcomes in reading musical notations in songs by using pianika and rekorder at the class of VII.7 of SMP Negeri 4 Pariaman. The design of this research was class action research. The objects of this research were 30 students of class VII.7 SMP Negeri 4 Pariaman. From the data analysis, it was found that there was an improvement on students learning outcomes. It was seen from their learning outcomes average scores. In the first cycle, the average score was 47.3. In the second cycle, it increased into 70.6 while the intended average score was only 70. From the findings, it was concluded that the use of pianika dan rekorder improved students learning outcomes in reading musical notations in songs. Kata Kunci: Hasil Belajar, Membaca Notasi Balok, Alat Musik, Pianika dan Rekorder.

Abstract Eliciting and giving appreciation to society especially among the students toward traditional music, the lack of insight of educators in educational institutions makes students less knowledge about their traditional culture. The artist was interested in working a music project that based on talempong pacik learning in non public school art into the form of music school composition. The school of music is a music that is played by the students together in school and contains the education values. If it is seen from the level of difficulty, the artist provided material to be played which was match to the ability possessed by students of the school. It encouraged the artist to explore Cak Dindin song, working on rhythm and melody in talempong pacikgua cak dindin into an art work form of creative music composition entitle Doak Dindin inspired by one of the repertoires of talempong pacik born in Minangkabau into some elements and techniques of farming out music that exists on the theory of Western music like unisono, interloking, proposta, riposta, singkopasi as well as using major and minor tones and the presence of diminusi and augmentation of the tone. This art work was played by the 8 players of musical instruments, namely talempong dasar, talempong paningkah, talempong anak, talempong rea, gandang tambua, sarunai, guitar, rapa'i and cymbals. The purpose of this research is to describe the processes of student motivation improvement in learning local folk music of the 7th grader in SMP Negeri 3 junior high school Bukittinggi by applying “cooperative learning, the group investigation type.” This kind of research is class action research. The datum to be observed in this research are from practical examination by playing local folk music using instrument, observing student motivation, assessing student motivation and doing field note. The research is done in two cycles, cycle I and cycle II. Each of them has two meetings. Every cycle consists of four events which are planning, action, observation, and reflection.

Abstract The research aimed at describing the use of music instrument Gaejuma in the society of Mentawai at Siberut Selatan Mentawai. Such traditional arts possessed by the society included vocal music, traditional music instruments and daily traditional dances. The three traditional arts were closely related to social activities such as wedding party, the coronation of shaman, the expansion of new farming area, the construction of new houses and the medication of people. One of the traditional music which was always performed during the local ceremonies in Mentawai was the music instrument Gaejuma. The performance of Gaejuma in every ceremony was to tone up the ceremonies like in the wedding party, to cure those who were sick or ill, to remove the bad spirits during the expansion of new farming area or the construction of new houses, during the coronation. Abstract The aim of this research was to reveal the implementation of peer-tutoring method in arts and Music learning process at SMAN 4 Muara Bungo. This was an applied research in which in this research the research the researcher applied per-tutoring method by using qualitative method. This method was suited to the learning materials of the semester. The result of the research indicated that the application of peer-tutoring method in Rangkayo Hitam song especially those related to legato, cengkok, and vibration technique could improve the students’ learning achievement. The improvement could be seen from their average score which was above the minimum standard score (SKM) 71. Kata kunci: Siswa, kemandirian, tutor sebaya, bernyanyi, hasil belajar

The proposes of this research to (1) describe pattern Rythme Taganing as follower as as pop Batak Toba in tuak shop in sub district koto tangah in padang. The problem of this research is to describe pattern Rhythm Taganing as follow as song in tuak shop. (2) the type of this research is qualitative that used descriptive the technique of collecting data are taken from library research, transerpt, observasion, interview, taking picture, recording data in field research. (3) the result of this research is Taganing as instrument that used in tuak shop in pasir parupuk tabing. The other instrument were guitar, hasapi. The song played are Anak Medan, Boru Pangoaran, Patik Palimaon. The pattern is Taganing is followed with song Rythme that played. Abstract The research was about the implementation of extracurricular activities at SMP N 1 Payakumbuh. The problem in the research was the fact thet students’ achievements in their curricular and in their extracurricular activities were unbalance. The research aimed at describing the implementation of extracurricular activities at SMP N 1 Payakumbuh. The design of the research was qualitative using descriptive analysis method. Students’ achievement in extracurricular activities was an efford done to maintain the good reputation of the school. Yet, there were problem faced by the students such as the decreasing of the result in few subjects. The purpose of this research is supposed to : Whether the use of the graphic media is an appropriate and effective to develop reading ability and play the rhythm on learning of the art by junior high school students 8 padang. This research is a kind of action research class II by performing actions. This research is focused to the students class VIIIc that cannot have the standard set KKM at school on learning student class VIIIc by using graphic media to make it easier to read and play the rhythm notation got success on the second cycle reachis 83,95% from 62,5% in the previous cycle. This learning strategies using graphic media to read and play rhythm notation mure helping the students in learning process plays outcomes arranger and sing national song.

Abstract This research was designed for improving the students’ ability in playing Pianika by using Drilling Method in class VIII-7 of SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Alung. This was a classroom action research wich was conducted in two cycles consisting of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The object of the research was the students in class VII-7 of SMP Negeri 1 Lubuk Alung Kabupaten Padang Pariaman that consisted of 36 students. The result of the research indicated that from the first cycle to the second cycle, the use of Drilling Method could improve the students’ ability in playing Pianika. In addition, the students’ activities in the learning process also improved. Kata Kunci : Peningkatan, Pianika, Metode Drill

Abstarck This research is aim to get, to process, to analyze, and inrstigate data about correlation betwen study motivation and parent’s anttention to the study result of musical art in subjeck cultural art SMP N 8 Payakumbuh 2012/2013. Kind of research that use is correlational description. Population in this research is all student in grade VIII who study musical art in SMP N 8 Payakumbuh. There are 214 students. This research use 24 students. Instrumen that use is closed sample. Before doing the research, the first step is doing try out to considered validity and reliability the research instrumen. There are two analysis that use. They are (1) Descriptive analysis that aim to see mean, standar deviation, presentation, the number of group and interval. (2) Inferential analysis aim to test the hipothesis. The result show that (1) Variable of student motivation is good. (2) The correlation betwen study to study result is significant with contribution about 29% to variant variable of study result. (3) The correlation betwen parent’s attention to study result is significant with contribution about 18% to variant variable of study result. (4) The correlation betwen motivation and parent’s attention together are significant with contribution 29% to variant variable of study result. Keyword: Correlation ,Motivation, parent’s attention
