This study aims to describe the implementation of acoustic guitar extracurricular. This research belongsto a descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. The Data analysis started from data collection stage, reduction stage, data presentation stage, and the conclusion stage. Data validity testwasconducted by extending observations and increasing persistence.The results of this study indicate that: (1) extracurricular planning includes: a. the material taught is carried out in steps, b. The method used is the lecture method, demonstration method, question and answer method, and assignment method, (2) extracurricular implementation includes: initial activities, core activities, and final activities, (3) learning evaluation includes evaluation of the process seen from the discipline, activeness, and motivationof the students. Thelearning outcome evaluationis conductedby using indicators of technique, material, and appearanceon students’ demonstration. Based on the results of this study, it can be suggested that the school continues to maintain music extracurricularso that students can continue to develop in music. Through the extracurricular of music, especially in acoustic guitar extracurricular, it is hoped that it can accommodate students who want to develop talents in the music field.

Abstract The purpose of this research was to describe some causes of why the students of VIII.2 at SMPN 3 Padang Panjang were not involved actively in the classroom activities. The data were in the form of observations on the music learning and interviews with the teacher and students of VIII.2. The data were collected through a literature study, observations, interviews, and documentations. The result of this research has proven that the main cause of why the students of VIII.2 at SMPN 3 Padang Panjang were not involved actively in the classroom activities was the teacher. The teacher could not create a good learning process in which students could participate actively. Besides, the capability of the teacher was also inadequate. Abstract The purpose of this study was to reveal the picture of students' interest to wards learning the art of music in SMP Negeri 1 Painan South Coastal District. This type of researc his descriptive, while research conducted in February-March 2013. The instrument used was a questionnaire to collect data using a Likert scale. Data were analyzed using frequency distribution formula in the form of a percentage. From the analysis of the data obtained the following results: 1. Minat siswa in SMPN egeri 1 Painan seen from the classification indicators are sufficient participation (74.1%). 2. Student interest in SMP Negeri 1 Painan seen from the classification indicators are sufficient attention to the percentage of75.7%. 3. Student interest in SMP Negeri 1 Painan seen from the feeling of being on the classification of the indicators enough with the percentage of 79.3%. It means that of the three indicators of interest needs to be improved, so that students become better. Kata kunci : Minat, pembelajaran, musik, deskriptif.

This study aims to explore and describe the implementation of Culture and Arts instruction based on the revised 2013 curriculum of 2016 edition at SMP Negeri 3 Padang. This is a qualitative research using descriptive method. The research instrument was the researcher itself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as writing tools and cameras. The data were collected through literature study, observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysiswas conducted through collecting the data, describing the data, taking conclusion and making suggestions. The results showthat the unisono singing instruction conducted by teachers in class VII-2 of SMP Negeri 3 Padang has not gone well and had not met the targets of the learning objectives and the objectives of the revised 2013curriculum. This can be seen from the planning, implementation, and evaluation. Thereisnorelevancy between the lesson plans and those implemented by the teacher in the classroom. Teachers do not fully understand the concepts and techniques of singing unisono so that students do not understand the subject matter. The results of the unisono learning evaluation of students in class VII-2show that the highest score got only reached 87, the lowest score was 75, and 10 students did not reach the cut score.

Abstract This article aims to find out and describe the existence of Selawat Dulang in Padang Sibusuk community which includes the use, function, position, meaning and effort to keep the existence of Selawat Dulang in Nagari Padang Sibusuk. This research was descriptive research using a qualitative approach. Instruments in this study were researcher self and assisted with the supporting instruments such as notebooks, stationery, and camera. The technique of data collection was done through literature study, observation and interview. The technique of data analysis was done by observation steps, identifying data, interpreting data, describing data and making discussion. The results show that the Art of Selawat Dulang is still existing and awakened in the mind of Padang Sibusuk people in accordance with the needs of Padang Sibusuk community. This study shows that Selawat Dulang has several functions. They are social function, as entertainment and group existence. The results prove that the position and meaning of Selawat Dulang in the community of Padang Sibusuk strengthening its existence and making Selawat Dulang as a form of cultural preservation. Abstract The aim of this research was to reveal the implementation of peer-tutoring method in arts and Music learning process at SMAN 4 Muara Bungo. This was an applied research in which in this research the research the researcher applied per-tutoring method by using qualitative method. This method was suited to the learning materials of the semester. The result of the research indicated that the application of peer-tutoring method in Rangkayo Hitam song especially those related to legato, cengkok, and vibration technique could improve the students’ learning achievement. The improvement could be seen from their average score which was above the minimum standard score (SKM) 71. Kata kunci: Siswa, kemandirian, tutor sebaya, bernyanyi, hasil belajar

The proposes of this research to (1) describe pattern Rythme Taganing as follower as as pop Batak Toba in tuak shop in sub district koto tangah in padang. The problem of this research is to describe pattern Rhythm Taganing as follow as song in tuak shop. (2) the type of this research is qualitative that used descriptive the technique of collecting data are taken from library research, transerpt, observasion, interview, taking picture, recording data in field research. (3) the result of this research is Taganing as instrument that used in tuak shop in pasir parupuk tabing. The other instrument were guitar, hasapi. The song played are Anak Medan, Boru Pangoaran, Patik Palimaon. The pattern is Taganing is followed with song Rythme that played. The purpose of this research is supposed to : Whether the use of the graphic media is an appropriate and effective to develop reading ability and play the rhythm on learning of the art by junior high school students 8 padang. This research is a kind of action research class II by performing actions. This research is focused to the students class VIIIc that cannot have the standard set KKM at school on learning student class VIIIc by using graphic media to make it easier to read and play the rhythm notation got success on the second cycle reachis 83,95% from 62,5% in the previous cycle. This learning strategies using graphic media to read and play rhythm notation mure helping the students in learning process plays outcomes arranger and sing national song.

Abstract This Article aim to find and describe how orgen tunggal gave influence toward the society and youth of Kampung Air Panjang Jorong Kuamang Kenagarian Panti Timur Kabupaten Pasaman. Type of this study was qualitative with descriptive method. Technique of collecting data was done by using library research, investigation, interview, and documentation. Data was classified into two, they were primary and secondary. Based on result of the study, the show of orgen tunggal had influence which big enough toward the society and youth of Kampung Air Panjang Jorong Kuamang Kenagarian Panti Timur Kabupaten Pasaman. The influence it can be seen of positive perspective which was based on opinion that given by host were effective and low cost for the society and they were a practical entertainment and medium to show the singing talent. The influence of negative one which was based on society opinion, said that use rythm of the music were disturb, the sexy appearance of the artists, appearance exceeded the time limit and the used of beer by the audiences in the show. Those things ruined image of orgen tunggal in Kampung Air Panjang Jorong Kuamang Kenagarian Panti Timur Kabupaten Pasaman. Keywords: positive influence, negative influence, orgen tunggal

Abstract The aim of this research was to describe the learning process on music subject for students with particular needs (blind) at SMP Negeri 4 Payakumbuh. This was a qualitative research that used descriptive method. This was done by seeing, observing and collecting information related to the research object. The data then was described descriptively. The result of the research that the students with particular needs did not get similar materials, methods, and learning media to the normal students as all of those required visual capability. In addition, there was not any specific teacher paid to help them in learning. Keyword : musik, anak berkebutuhan khusus, kualitatif, deskriptif.
